Amongst the record-breaking number of executive actions taken by President Joe Biden was one related to a little-known, frightening Obama-era program called Operation Choke Point. The program, dubbed so under former Attorney General Eric Holder, uses the power of the federal government to target legal yet leftist-disfavored businesses. These include gun sellers, pawnshops, and short-term money lenders.

The Trump administration did its best to end this blatantly unconstitutional program that sought to discriminate against legal industries. In 2017, the Justice Department declared the program “formally over.” At the end of Trump’s term, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency established the Fair Access rule to solidify its culmination.

But on Jan. 28, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency under President Biden announced it would pause the Trump-era rule intended to prevent another Operation Choke Point from happening again. . .

The Trump administration rule appeared innocuous enough, instructing banks to “conduct risk assessments of individual customers, rather than make broad-based decisions affecting whole categories or classes of customers when providing access to services, capital, and credit.”

Under Operation Choke Point, federal regulators instructed banks to do the opposite — to openly discriminate against entire industries the Obama administration found objectionable. Weaponizing the power of banking regulators at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and the Office of Comptroller of the Currency, the Obama administration realized it could block entire industries from the banking system that it didn’t like. This made it difficult — if not impossible — for politically unfavored businesses such as gun sellers and short-term lenders to operate. Calling a “lid” informs reporters the president will not appear in public or travel anywhere for the rest of the day. . .

Biden still has yet to publicly voice his concerns for Americans suffering in Texas, even though his predecessor former President Barack Obama voiced sympathy on Twitter for those affected by the storms.

Texas Water Shortage Adds to Power Crisis as New Winter Storm Moves in

By NBC News. As large parts of Texas woke up Thursday to another day of a power crisis amid extreme winter weather, issues with water systems added to the misery for much of the state’s population.

Scores of Texans were under notice to boil tap water before drinking it after days of record low temperatures damaged infrastructure, caused blackouts and froze water pipes.

Millions across the U.S. were left without electricity or heat in the aftermath of the deadly winter storm as utility crews rushed to restore power before another blast of snow and ice this week.

Another major winter storm is expected to track from the Lower Mississippi Valley into the mid-Atlantic and Northeast through Friday, the National Weather Service said, bringing more heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain to further complicate recovery efforts.

The establishment media is fawning over President Joe Biden’s early bedtimes, his use of the Oval office fireplace and even his video game-playing habits as we’ve entered into a new era in media coverage of the White House. . .

Of course, we knew to a degree with would happen. The activist media told us as much. But so far, some of the recent reports feel like satire.

Rather than focus on those who could lose potentially everything through Biden’s decision to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline with the stroke of a pen, or his community-straining executive orders on immigration, CNN on Monday wrote a story about how Biden sometimes like to put a log on the fire in the White House fireplace before calling a lid and going to sleep.

President Biden has expressed a preference for a fire built in the Oval Office fireplace, and sometimes adds a log himself to keep it going.
