Joe Miller focused on defeating Mitt Romney in 2012

Tea Party hero Joe Miller says he’s focused on making sure Mitt Romney doesn’t become president.

In an interview with The Daily Caller, Miller, who unsuccessfully ran for the U.S. Senate in Alaska in 2010, said his Western Representation PAC hopes to spend at least $500,000 campaigning against Romney, a Republican candidate, in early primary states like New Hampshire.

“It’s about getting the government back to its fundamentals, limiting government and showing that Romney is not embracing that approach,” Miller said of his PAC’s “Stop Romney” campaign.

Miller, who chairs the Western Representation PAC, said he’s not supporting any other GOP candidate.

Miller said Romney has a “big government approach.” The PAC will publicize the former Massachusetts governor’s history of flip-flopping, or as Miller said, “where Romney use to be and where he claims to be today.”

Former U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller brings grassroots PAC to Fairbanks

Joe Miller told supporters there is no truth to rumors that he’s living in either Nevada or Arizona or Wasilla during a launch barbecue Friday at Pioneer Park for his new political action committee.

Although he works for another PAC with a Nevada address, he and his family have been living in Fairbanks, he said.

His new political group, Restoring Liberty Alaska, will work to support his limited government platform in Alaska.

“We’re going to restrain activist judges, and we’re going to get good people elected,” he said.

One politician he said needs more help in Juneau is Sen. John Coghill, who also spoke at the barbecue.

Memorial Day Reflections

Dear Fellow Patriots,

All of us recognize that our nation faces grave challenges.  Whether it’s the crushing national debt, unemployment, an upside down housing market, or the extreme crisis of leadership in D.C., it’s easy to despair of these formidable problems.  No elected official or candidate has the apparent courage and ability to lead us back to our constitutional foundations of limited government.

But on this Memorial Day, I encourage you to think back to the other challenges our great nation has confronted.  Our extraordinary people have stood up to a world super power with a fledgling, ragtag army in the Revolutionary War.  Only several decades later, we faced down that same power again in the War of 1812.  In the next half a century, Americans fought a devastating Civil War that threatened to rip us apart.  Other exceptional challenges followed, including World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, and the Cold War.

At each challenge, our nation’s veterans answered the call.  From the patriots of Lexington-Concord to the Greatest Generation, it was our military that selflessly sacrificed their blood to protect the God-given freedoms that our sacred Constitution was designed to protect.

On this 2011 Memorial Day, please remember that this same Patriot spirit is alive and well, represented by the hundreds of thousands serving in the U.S. armed services.  Endless deployments, constant danger, and spilled blood mark their exceptional sacrifice.

Let us join together in seeking God’s Providence for their protection.  Let us be encouraged that this warrior spirit will see this nation through its current struggles.  And let us never forget that the United States is the bright Shining City on a Hill, exceptional amongst the nations.

Warmest Regards,

Joe Miller

Joe Miller: My Latest Plans and Activities

I am pleased to announce to my core support group several new ventures that I am involved in. Although a press release will issue next week, I wanted you to hear about these endeavors from me first. What follows is a quick overview of where we’re going.

First, though, let me thank you again for your support during the campaign last year. That support was – and remains – one of the most gratifying aspects of the election. I hope that you will continue to support our efforts to restore liberty through any or all of the following organizations:

Restoring Liberty Alaska PAC

This PAC is dedicated to impacting elections across the state to benefit all Alaskans directly, and the nation at large by extension.

We will fight to get state and local officials elected who are dedicated to the principles of limited government and assert states’ rights under the 10th Amendment. Educating the public on the foundation of our nation – the Constitution – will also be a top priority.

We will work to restore vote integrity across the state, closely monitoring the recommendations made to the state legislature and the Division of Elections.

And we remain unwavering in our support of the pro-life movement.

We would love to have you join us at a fundraiser in Fairbanks on June 3 for the launch of the PAC.

Restoring Liberty Action Committee

Restoring Liberty Action Committee (RLAC) is an organization designed to have nationwide impact by educating the public and elected officials about the original intent of the Constitution, public policy matters, and other matters of national concern through public discussions, research and analysis, and legal work. RLAC recently filed a brief before the US Supreme Court urging the Court to return to the Founders’ vision of the Fourth Amendment.

You can read the brief here:

RLAC is a 501c(4) tax-exempt organization.

Talk Radio

I have been in discussions with several radio stations regarding a daily broadcast program. It is likely that a contract will be concluded within the next several weeks. My intent is to touch on issues that affect Alaska, which as we all know, is greatly affected by what happens across the nation and, in particular, by the shenanigans in Washington, DC.

We’re expecting an announcement within the next month once details are finalized.

Western Representation PAC

As many of you know, I am the Chairman of the Western Representation PAC, based in Sparks, Nevada. This is a leading Tea Party organization that is passionate about restoring liberty to our nation.

Beginning with no financial or political backing, Western Representation PAC has become one of the nation’s largest and fastest-growing political organizations thanks to over 250,000 supporters across the country.

Miller: Parnell should ‘resist unconstitutional mandates of the federal government’

A recent exchange from one-time U.S. Senate candidate Joe Miller’s Facebook page raises an interesting question about Alaska Gov. Sean Parnell’s strategy in dealing with the tangle of federal permitting that can slow oil and gas projects. Miller says Parnell should ignore those pesky laws and just do as he wants by invoking the state’s right to “nullify” or “resist unconstitutional mandates of the federal government.”

Miller, the tea party candidate who unsuccessfully challenged incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski and has since gone on to become chairman of the Western Representation Political Action Committee, is pitching a strategy that others nationwide have used to push back against marijuana laws, health care mandates, gun control, the TSA and more. A website tracking the 10th Amendment Nullification movement details these and other issues the movement is taking on.

The site includes coverage of a sovereignty resolution signed by Sarah Palin in 2009 just weeks before she stepped down from her job as Alaska’s governor. The Tenth Amendment Center describes the document as a resolution that “serves notice to the federal government that it should cease and desist any activities beyond the scope of their constitutionally-delegated powers.”
