Democrat Representative Opposes Bill Condemning Christian Persecution in Nigeria Because It Doesn’t Include LGBTQ People (VIDEO)

Rep. Gerry Connolly, D-Va., opposed a bill on Tuesday condemning the persecution of Christians in Nigeria because it failed to also include the LGBTQ population.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee on Tuesday performed markups on a bill condemning violations of religious freedoms in Nigeria, including the ongoing persecution and murder of Christians. Connolly, a member of the committee, said he didn’t favor the bill in its current form because it failed to encompass a broader condemnation of all persecution in Nigeria, including against “the gay and lesbian community.”

“Congress can’t simply say, ‘We’re only concerned about Christian persecution.’ We’re concerned about anyone’s human rights being violated,” Connolly said during the committee markup session on Tuesday. “And by the way, that includes the gay and lesbian community, which has suffered in Nigeria, among other African countries, [and] even at the hands of religious leaders, who have called for the death penalty because of somebody’s sexual orientation.”

“If we’re going to express ourselves with respect—as we should—it ought to be a comprehensive statement, not a particular group we single out, and basically say, ‘That’s the one we’re concerned about,’” Connolly said.

Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., later said the bill aims to distinctly condemn the violation of religious freedoms in Nigeria and accused unspecified colleagues of trying to “muddy the water” with irrelevant points. Connolly responded that he considered that a “smear” and explained his personal history with Catholicism. The Data Is In: These Are the Gayest States in America

The District of Columbia has the highest percentage of LGBTQ individuals in the United States, according to a UCLA study released in December.

In the nation’s capital, 14.3% of the population claims to be part of that community, with Oregon, Delaware, Vermont and New Hampshire also topping 7% of their population identifying as LGBTQ, the study by the Williams Institute at the University of California, Los Angeles, said. The study estimated the total population of LGBTQ individuals is 13.9 million, or roughly 5.5% of the United States population, according to The Hill.

An estimated 1.55 million people in California are LGBTQ, giving it the largest population of LGBTQ individuals, the study said. Texas also has a LGBTQ population of over 1 million individuals, while Florida and New York each have over 850,000 LGBTQ people in them, the study said. Pennsylvania and Ohio each have more than 550,000 LBGTQ individuals, according to the study, with Michigan, Illinois, Georgia and Washington also reaching the top ten. Dem Senator Knew His Aide at the Center of Gay Sex Fiasco Was Trouble, But Promoted Him Anyway

The aide who was fired for his gay sex session in a Senate hearing room was known for his risqué social media posts. The world was made aware of Aidan Maese-Czeropski’s graphic video last Friday, where he was identified as one of the men in the clip. Maese-Czeropski was fired hours after the video became public, but not before he tried to play the victim card when he was exposed before deleting his LinkedIn page.

Cardin’s office knew Maese-Czeropski’s social media activity was out of control but promoted him anyway. He reportedly continued to post racy material to a selected group of people on his Instagram. The point is that this aide’s social media presence was well-known, so this gay sex meltdown shouldn’t shock anyone. Cardin’s office had a chance to prevent a public relations catastrophe but decided to gamble—and lost. Matthew Keys at The Desk has more:

In November, Senator Ben Cardin’s Chief of Staff Chris Lynch promoted U.C. Berkeley graduate Aidan Maese-Czeropski from his entry-level aide job while simultaneously warning the 23-year-old to stop posting nude and seminude photographs to his public Instagram page, according to a person familiar with the situation.

Maese-Czeropski affirmed the warning in a now-deleted story posted to his Instagram page, in which he said the “chief of staff just promoted me and in the same breath suggested I tone down my social media.”

Data: 26 States That Banned Therapy for LGBT People Upped Suicide Risks

Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear a challenge to 26 state laws at least partly based on studies claiming “conversion therapy” increases LGBT Americans’ suicide risks. Yet every existing study that makes this claim is seriously scientifically unsound, several research reviews recently found.

Not only do all these studies depend on unscientific methods, but the data from one highly cited such study actually shows the opposite of what its authors claim, says a sociologist who reran the study’s data with standard scientific controls the authors omitted.

“The evidence shows that SOCE [sexual orientation change efforts] is fairly effective at preventing suicide attempts,” said Paul Sullins, a research professor at Catholic University and senior researcher for the Ruth Institute, in a press conference released Friday.

These majorly flawed studies have boosted efforts to ban therapists from helping distressed people across the United States and the world. According to Sullins, some 20 states and the District of Columbia ban therapists from helping people struggling to resolve homosexual desires or gender dysphoria. Six states partially ban such therapy. That means in those states, therapists may only nudge children toward, rather than help prevent, transgender mutilation.

Last week, Republican-appointed Justices John Roberts, Amy Coney Barrett, and Neil Gorsuch joined the court’s leftists in refusing to resolve a circuit-court split over whether states can punish therapists who talk to willing clients about unwanted sexual attractions and gender dysphoria. Barrett also voted to let stand a lower-court decision striking laws against children attending transvestite shows. FBI Will Use LGBTQIA+ Acronym in Place of LGBT+ After Diversity Proposal

The Federal Bureau of Investigation issued a statement saying that it would replace the LGBTQ acronym with the far more inclusive LGBTQIA+ acronym.

An email reportedly from the bureau’s Office of Diversity and Inclusion to all FBI employees was leaked online.

“The FBI has officially adopted the LGBTQIA+ acronym in place of LGBT+. This change was proposed by Bureau Equality, one of our nine Diversity Advisory Committees, and approved by FBI executive management to help promote a more welcoming workplace for members of our LGBTQIA+ community,” read the email.

The email went on to explain what each part of the LGBTQIA+ acronym meant.

“LGBTQIA+ stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual/Aromantic, plus,” the FBI said. “The ‘+’ represents other gender, sexual, and romantic identities not covered by the letters of the acronym.”

In 2021, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was mocked online after he began using the even more inclusive acronym, 2SLGBTQQIA+.

Russia Moves to Ban LGBTQ Groups as “Extremist” Organizations

Russia’s justice ministry has filed a motion with the country’s Supreme Court to ban the activities of what it calls the “international LGBT public movement” as extremist. . .

It said the movement had shown signs of “extremist activity”, including inciting “social and religious strife”.

The ban could leave any LGBT activist vulnerable to criminal prosecution. . .

The ban would make it impossible for LGBT organizations to operate and put activists and employees at risk of criminal prosecution, the Moscow Times quoted one of the few LGBT activists still inside Russia as saying. . .

School District Indoctrinates 5-Year-Olds With Celebration of LGBTQ Values

Starting next week, many children as young as 5 who attend Los Angeles Unified public schools will participate in a weeklong celebration of “National Coming Out Day,” which falls on October 11.

The district issued its “Week of Action Toolkit,” emblazoned with a Black Power Fist over neon rainbow stripes and is nominally optional, although peer pressure will likely prompt elementary school teachers to use its programming. Its version for elementary students contains an “Identity Map activity” that “Prepares students to think critically about identity and intersectionality” as well as suggestions to include “brief biographies of an important LGBTQ+ person or advocate to spotlight.”

Monday will feature transgender YouTuber Jazz Jennings, who allegedly claimed to be a girl at the age of 2, as well as the book “Julian is a Mermaid”; Tuesday will feature Marsha P. Johnson, an “American gay liberation activist and self-identified drag queen” and the book “The Great Big Book of Families”; Wednesday will feature Hollywood’s Elliot Page, formerly star actress Ellen Page and the book “Be Who You Are”; Thursday will feature the WNBA’s Layshia Clarendon, who “came out as transgender and non-binary” in 2020, and Friday will feature Carl Nassib, the first openly gay active player in the NFL, and the book “From the Stars in the Sky to the Fish in the Sea.” (Read more from “School District Indoctrinates 5-Year-Olds With Celebration of LGBTQ Values” HERE)

LGBTQ Groups Praise Jail Sentence for Commentator Who Called Journalist a ‘Fat Lesbian’

LGBTQ groups hailed the 60-day jail sentence a court in Switzerland gave to a writer and commentator for deriding a journalist as a “fat lesbian,” among other critical remarks.

The Lausanne court sentenced French-Swiss polemicist Alain Bonnet, who goes by Alain Soral, for the crimes of defamation, discrimination and incitement to hatred on Monday. He was ordered to pay legal fees and fines totaling thousands of Swiss francs (dollars) in addition to the time behind bars.

Soral lashed out at Catherine Macherel, a journalist for Swiss newspapers Tribune de Geneve and 24 Heures, in a Facebook video two years ago. He called her a “fat lesbian” and said Macherel’s work as a “queer activist” meant she was “unhinged,” according to Swiss public broadcaster RTS.

Biden Admin Shells Out $240,000 To Children’s Hospital For ‘Interactive’ LGBTQ Youth Sex Education Tool

The Biden administration is shelling out roughly $240,000 to a children’s hospital to create and study an “interactive” sex education tool for LGBTQ youth, according to a grant.

Seattle Children’s Hospital, the grant recipient, will create a “fully functional online interactive sexual education tool” to measure the effectiveness of such a tool in tracking sexual activity and providing sex education information to LGBTQ youths. The administration has made pushing gender ideology a top priority, pushing LGBTQ activism, programs, and research, recognizing LGBTQ commemoration days and prioritizing LGBTQ refugees, according to a Family Research Council report.

The study will collect data on “partner communication,” “risky sexual behaviors” and “social support,” according to the grant. LGBTQ youth are at high risk of sexually transmitted infections, unwanted pregnancies and unwanted sexual contact, according to the grant.

LGBTQ Activist Org Awards Thousands to Schools Across the Country to Promote Gender Ideology

An LGBTQ activist organization awarded more than 70 public and charter schools throughout the U.S. and Canada thousands of dollars to promote gender ideology, support “Gender Sexuality Alliance” (GSA) clubs and put on Pride Week celebrations, according to the group’s website.

Throughout 2023, the “It Gets Better Project” has awarded at least 56 U.S. and 15 Canadian public and charter schools $10,000 each for a total of $625,000 in grants to fund LGBTQ initiatives, according to the organization’s website. Some school districts throughout the country are using the grants they received to fund “gender transition closets” and work with with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a group that describes itself as a “leading-edge Order of queer and trans nuns,” to take transgender students “back-to-school shopping.”

“The group is funding programs and curricula that are inappropriate for children and certainly inappropriate for classrooms in public schools,” Erika Sanzi, director of operations at Parents Defending Education (PDE), told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “The fact that they funded a program for a public school to work with the anti-Catholic organization Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence shows that the group is more than willing to work with those who practice bigotry against Americans who think and believe differently from them.”

Impact Academy of Arts and Technology, a charter school in California, was awarded a grant to work with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to host a “back-to-school shopping” event for transgender and nonbinary students, the “It Gets Better Project” states. The charter school is also using the grant to create a gender-transitioning “wardrobe” and host an LGBTQ+ community day.

The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence came under fire after a Major League Baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, announced they would honor the group at its annual Pride night. (Read more from “LGBTQ Activist Org Awards Thousands to Schools Across the Country to Promote Gender Ideology” HERE)
