MSNBC airs a bizarre video montage at the beginning of every episode of The Ed Show, but the program was especially outlandish on Monday and Wednesday, depicting President Obama as a series of larger-than-life figures. The liberal network first portrayed the chief executive as Superman standing on top of the White House, and later placed the Democrat’s head on George Washington’s body in the famed painting of the crossing of the Delaware River.
Two days later, The Ed Show lead segment repeatedly showed a graphic depicting the President as Uncle Sam, holding a pen in his boxing glove-covered hand:
After the montage on both Monday and Tuesday, host Ed Schultz gave his commentary in front of a graphic trumpeting President Obama as an “action hero,” and touted the liberal politician’s controversial vow to take executive action on several issues, as a means to motivate Congress to pass his legislative agenda.

MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry apologized in a series of tweets Tuesday morning for using Mitt Romney’s black adopted grandchild in a comedy segment over the weekend.
“I am sorry. Without reservation or qualification. I apologize to the Romney family,” the apology started. “I work by guiding principle that those who offend do not have the right to tell those they hurt that they (are) wrong for hurting. Therefore, while I meant no offense, I want to immediately apologize to the Romney family for hurting them.”
Each tweet of the apology came with the hashtag #MHPApology.
“As (a) black child born into large white Mormon family I feel familiarity w/ Romney family (picture) & never meant to suggest otherwise,” she continued. “I apologize to all families built on loving transracial adoptions who feel I degraded their lives or choices.”
On Sunday, MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry hosted a look back at 2013 through the lens of laughter, complete with a panel of comedians. The hour included a section on the most talked-about photos of the year, such as the Barack Obama selfie at the Nelson Mandela memorial. But toward the end of the segment, Harris-Perry pulled up a Romney family photo that included their recently adopted grandson Kieran Romney, who is black.
“A lot of people had emotions about this baby picture this year,” Harris-Perry said.
One of the panelists, actress Pia Glenn, started singing “one of these things is not like the others,” while Harris-Perry laughed.
“And that little baby, front and center, would be the one,” Glenn said.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews on Thursday, President Barack Obama dismissed the notion that the IRS ever targeted pro-life groups or conservatives. The IRS scandal flared this summer as pro-life groups learned they had been targeted and seen their applications for nonprofit status delayed.
The IRS has been found to be targeting pro-life and conservative groups because of their positions and, this summer, a tape was released showing a disturbing phone call the Internal Revenue Service placed to a non-profit organization telling it to keep its Christian faith and views on abortion to itself.
Photo Credit: newsbusters.orgMSNBC host Martin Bashir has resigned from the network after causing an uproar over remarks he made suggesting someone defecate in former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s mouth.
“After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday,” Bashir said in an email first obtained by Mediaite Wednesday. “Upon further reflection, and after meeting with the president of MSNBC, I have tendered my resignation. It is my sincere hope that all of my colleagues, at this special network, will be allowed to focus on the issues that matter without the distraction of myself or my ill-judged comments.”
“I deeply regret what was said, will endeavor to work hard at making constructive contributions in the future and will always have a deep appreciation for our viewers – who are the smartest, most compassionate and discerning of all television audiences. I would also wish to express deepest gratitude to my immediate colleagues, and our contributors, all of whom have given so much of themselves to our broadcast,” Bashir said.

Photo Credit: MSNBC Screenshot Here’s something I bet you never imagined someone saying on MSNBC: “This [administration] is the most hostile to the media that has been in United States history.”
Yet there was syndicated columnist and former CNN correspondent Bob Franken saying so on Saturday’s MSNBC Live (video follows with transcript and commentary):
T.J. HOLMES, SUBSTITUTE HOST: Bob, you covered the White House for a long time. You’ve been around, and you were shaking your head there the whole time and wanting to chime in. What is it?
BOB FRANKEN, SYNDICATED COLUMNIST: Well, let’s use the “P” word here. This is propaganda when it comes from the White House: government covering the government. It’s not what you’re supposed to do in the United States of America…

He made an abject apology yesterday, and we’ll get to that in a moment.
I’ve long been amazed by Bashir’s brand of name-calling. He despises Republicans, we get it. But the highly personal nature of his assaults, while delivered in an erudite British accent, stands out even by the loose standards of cable news.

Photo Credit: MSNBCIn yet another outrageous example of the duplicity of the nation’s leftwing media, MSNBC commentator, Britain Martin Bashir, viciously attacked Sarah Palin during the close of his Friday show, calling her “America’s resident dunce” and then encouraging someone to commit horrific acts against her.
How any news organization could continue to employ someone who made such incredibly unjustified and outrageous statements about any person, let alone Mrs. Palin, is a testament to its moral bankruptcy.
Here’s the shameful exchange (the written transcript follows the video):
MARTIN BASHIR: It’s time now to clear the air. And we end this week in the way it began, with America’s resident dunce, Sarah Palin, scraping the barrel of her long deceased mind and using her all-time favorite analogy in an attempt to sound intelligent about the national debt.
SARAH PALIN: Our free stuff today is being paid for by taking money from our children and borrowing from China. When that note comes due … and this isn’t racist, so yeah, try it, try it anyway. This isn’t racist. But it’s going to be like slavery when that note is due.
BASHIR: It’ll be like slavery. Given her well-established reputation as a world class idiot, it’s hardly surprising that she should choose to mention slavery in a way that is abominable to anyone who knows anything about its barbaric history. So here’s an example.
One of the most comprehensive first person accounts of slavery comes from the personal diary of a man called Thomas Thistlewood, who kept copious notes for 39 years. Thistlewood was the son of a tenant farmer who arrived on the island of Jamaica in April 1750, and assumed the position of overseer at a major plantation. What is most shocking about Thistlewood’s diary is not simply the fact that he assumes the right to own and possess other human beings, but is the sheer cruelty and brutality of his regime.
In 1756, he records that, “A slave named Darby catched eating canes. Had him well-flogged and pickled. Then made Hector, another slave, s-h-i-t in his mouth.” This became known as Darby’s dose, a punishment invented by Thistlewood that spoke only of the slave owner’s savagery and inhumanity.
And he mentions a similar incident again in 1756, this time in relation to a man he refers to as “Punch.” “Flogged Punch well, and then washed and rubbed salt pickle, lime juice and bird pepper. Made Negro Joe piss in his eyes and mouth.” I could go on, but you get the point.
When Mrs. Palin invoked slavery, she doesn’t just prove her rank ignorance. She confirms that if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, then she would be the outstanding candidate.

Photo Credit: Breitbart Chris Hayes, host of MSNBC’s All In, has a favorite tactic–though not an original one: connecting today’s Republicans with the racist Democrats of the old South. In June, he rewrote history by casting George Wallace as a Republican–an error for which, to his credit, he later apologized. On Wednesday, he appeared to use a more subtle tactic to connect the Tea Party’s Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Marco Rubio to the Ku Klux Klan.
In a segment on possible Tea Party contenders for the Republican Party’s nomination in the 2016 presidential race, Hayes used a graphic (above) that portrayed Cruz, Paul, and Rubio as kings in a deck of cards–and that, rather conveniently, spelled out the initials “K K K.” (Hayes did not say the word “kings” during the segment.)

Photo Credit: Frederick M. Brown/Getty ImagesMegyn Kelly blew out Rachel Maddow in the key demo on Tuesday after losing to her the night before. “I have never seen it in all my years of cable,” says Phil Griffin.
Phil Griffin, president of MSNBC, says there’s something fishy about Tuesday’s ratings for the Fox News Channel, which were up significantly from a day earlier when Fox News debuted its new schedule. And he wants an investigation.
“Monday we had a really good day in the key demographic. On the night that Fox News debuted their three shows, we either tied or beat them in those hours,” Griffin said at a briefing, according to TVNewser.
“Tuesday — you guys should be doing some investigations; I have never seen it in all my years of cable — same overnight, same everything. And they doubled their ratings in a day? It is impossible.” Griffin continued, “I have never seen it. They did election-night numbers in the demo Tuesday.”
