By Breitbart. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) visit to Taiwan, completed in defiance of belligerent threats from the hideous regime in Beijing, drew genuine bipartisan support from U.S. lawmakers and voters alike.

Even in a time of deep political divisions, with a potentially earthshaking midterm election coming up, Americans are united in their concerns about the new Evil Empire and its malignant influence upon the freedom, health, and security of the Western world.

A considerable number of sitting Republican legislators and former Trump administration officials expressed public support for Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan. The GOP caucus was far more vocally supportive of Pelosi than the perpetually befuddled Biden administration, even though President Joe Biden ostensibly campaigned on standing up to Communist China.

“What is the Pentagon thinking when it publicly warns against Speaker Pelosi going to Taiwan? If we are so intimidated by the Chinese Communists we can’t even protect an American Speaker of the House, why should Beijing believe we can help Taiwan survive? Timidity is dangerous,” Pelosi’s predecessor Newt Gingrich, the last Speaker of the House to visit Taiwan, said in a characteristic Republican comment. US-China Ties on a Precipice After Pelosi Visit to Taiwan

By Associated Press. U.S.-China relations are teetering on a precipice after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan.

Pelosi received a rapturous welcome in Taipei and was applauded with strong bipartisan support in Washington, despite the Biden administration’s misgivings. But her trip has enraged Beijing and Chinese nationalists and will complicate already strained ties even after her departure.

Already, China is preparing new shows of force in the Taiwan Strait to make clear that its claims are non-negotiable on the island it regards as a renegade province. And, as the U.S. presses ahead with demonstrations of support for Taiwan, arms sales and diplomatic lobbying, the escalating tensions have raised the risks of military confrontation, intentional or not. ‘Pray’ for Pelosi: Shock Threat From Chinese State Media Mouthpiece; White House Finally Defends Potential Pelosi Taiwan Trip

By Washington Examiner. A Chinese media commentator asked people to “pray” for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) ahead of her planned trip to Taiwan.

A social media post from Global Times commentator Hu Xijin did not threaten Pelosi but did ask for others to wish her “a safe journey” on her expected visit. Top White House officials have expressed safety concerns about Pelosi’s travel plans due to high tensions with China, which claims Taiwan is part of its territory, even though island leaders have maintained it is self-governed.

“Let her go to Taiwan,” the tweet read. “But pray before departure: wish herself a safe journey and wish herself not be defined by history as a sinner who starts a spiral of escalation process expanding military frictions to a large-scale war in the Taiwan Strait.”

White House Finally Defends Potential Pelosi Taiwan Trip

By Breitbart. The White House on Monday warned China not to use a potential Taiwan visit by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to act militarily in the region — even after President Joe Biden publicly raised concerns about the idea.

National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby took the podium at the White House daily briefing to send a strong message to China about Pelosi’s potential trip.

“We will not take the bait or engage in saber-rattling. At the same time, we will not be intimidated,” Kirby said at the top of the briefing.

Kirby simultaneously tried to reassure the Chinese Communist Party that the United States policy has not changed in the region.

“We’ve repeatedly said that we oppose any unilateral changes to the status quo from either side. Nancy Pelosi’s Taiwan Visit Sets U.S. And China on a Collision Course

Nancy Pelosi’s rumored visit to Taiwan in the coming weeks has rung alarm bells in Beijing as well as Washington, while Taipei—caught once more in the crosshairs of rival powers—is keeping mum.

As both Joe Biden and Xi Jinping jostle for power in their respective capitals and for influence in the wider Indo-Pacific, the House speaker’s plans are quickly becoming the first real test of the “guardrails” the American president has been trying to establish with his Chinese counterpart for the last 18 months.

Experts told Newsweek the Taiwanese government is right to keep a low profile—Taipei is yet to receive Pelosi’s itinerary, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said—but few can safely predict the scale of the fallout that might ensue if Pelosi lands in the island’s capital in August as part of her bipartisan congressional delegation’s wider trip across Asia.

When it comes to dealings with the Chinese Communist Party, Pelosi, 82, has experience. The California Democrat has been a long-term critic of China’s ruling party over its human rights record and its trampling of civil liberties in Hong Kong. In 2020, she claimed to be “the most hated American in China,” a reputation she reinforced last year by becoming the first U.S. leader to back the eventual diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. Is Nancy Pelosi’s Time as Democrats House Leader Over?

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has been leading Democrats in the House of Representatives for almost 20 years, but her political future is once again the subject of speculation as her party looks set for major midterm defeats.

Pelosi previously said she would not remain in the leadership beyond 2022, yet has made no formal announcement that she will not seek to continue following this year’s midterm elections.

CNN reported in December that Pelosi had not ruled out staying in the top job after the midterms, citing sources familiar with her thinking, and her announcement in January that she’s seeking re-election in her district has added to the debate about her plans. . .

A Morning Consult poll conducted in February found that 60 percent of registered voters surveyed believed Pelosi should step aside from the Democratic leadership. Investigators: Pelosi Responsible for Jan. 6 Security Breakdown at U.S. Capitol

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi shoulders much of the blame for the security breakdown at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, a preliminary report from Republican investigators Reps. Jim Banks and Rodney Davis determined.

The Capitol Police (USCP) were half-staffed on Jan. 6, Pelosi’s House Sergeant at Arms denied multiple requests for National Guard assistance from the Pentagon and the USCP Chief in the days leading up to Jan. 6, officers were poorly equipped and had insufficient riot shields and helmets, and they were never trained to handle a riot even after the riots of 2020, the investigation shows, according to Banks.

The Republicans’ full report is not slated to be released for a few weeks but Banks and Davis said the hyperpartisan Jan. 6 Committee’s attempt to present a “slanted viewpoint as if it were impartial fact” prompted them to release their findings that “will help Americans understand the extent of the Committee’s misrepresentations and omissions.”

“The Committee has lied and made numerous unsupported and disputed claims that have been thoughtlessly parroted by their media and ‘fact-checking’ allies,” said Banks and Davis.

No Republican-appointed members serve on the committee, and no minority rights have been granted or observed by the committee. Those breaches of House rules have led Administration Committee ranking member Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Ill., to announce there will be an investigation of the J6 Committee itself once Republicans take control of the House, as they are expected to do following the November elections. Local law enforcement officials in California have released the mugshot of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) husband, Paul Pelosi, from his DUI arrest late last month.

“Police release booking photo of Speaker Pelosi’s husband Paul Pelosi from late May after he was arrested for DUI,” Fox News correspondent Chad Pergram wrote on Twitter. “Napa County says decision to release or withhold mugshots is up to police. Not DA.”

New Details Emerge From Incident That Led to the Arrest of Nancy Pelosi’s Husband

The arrest of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, followed a late-night car crash, according to police.

Paul Pelosi, 82, was charged with driving under the influence on Sunday morning. At the time, the speaker’s husband was “driving a 2021 Porsche into an intersection near the town of Yountville and was hit by a 2014 Jeep,” the Associated Press reported. “No injuries were reported, and the 48-year-old driver of the Jeep was not arrested.”

Paul and Nancy Pelosi own an estate in Napa Valley on Zinfandel Lane, which is valued at well north of $5,000,000, that has a vineyard that nets the couple $5,000 to $15,000 in grape sales per year.

The husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was charged early Sunday with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Paul Pelosi, 82, was arrested in Napa County, California, near midnight Saturday and booked at the local jail some hours later on two counts, according to arrest records obtained and posted by TMZ.

Pope Francis Passes Over Archbishop Who Barred Pelosi From Communion

Pope Francis on Sunday named as cardinal San Diego Bishop Robert W. McElroy, a Roman Catholic leader who had spoken out against the calls for bishops to exclude pro-choice politicians like President Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from Holy Communion over their stances on abortion.

The move comes in the wake of San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone’s announcement earlier this month that he would bar Pelosi from receiving Holy Communion due to her stance on abortion. In naming McElroy, Francis passed over Cordileone, who holds a higher rank.

McElroy, one of 21 new cardinals Pope Francis announced Sunday, will be installed Aug. 27 at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, the diocese of San Diego announced.

The San Diego bishop warned against the idea of denying Communion to pro-choice politicians in 2021, when U.S. bishops were considering altering their policy on Communion, which Catholics also call the Eucharist.
