New York City Begins Ad Campaign to Muzzle Hateful Speech Towards Muslims

In the wake of terrorist bombings in New York City and New Jersey conducted by an Afghanistan native obsessed with Osama bin Laden, New York City has begun a campaign to chide those targeting Muslims with hateful speech.

Mayor Bill de Blasio’s administration has a digital ad campaign that features pictures of Muslims with captions that read, “I am Muslim. I am NYC.”

“New Yorkers of all faiths deserve to live safely and free from discrimination. In NYC, it’s illegal to discriminate against or harass someone based on their religion or creed. #IAmMuslimNYC,” the ads proclaim.

A press release said the effort to protect Muslims was necessary to counterbalance recent events.

“Across the country, hateful speech has made Muslim residents the target of misguided attacks and threats, especially in the aftermath of terrorist incidents,” the press release said.

“According to researchers and law enforcement officials, reports of attacks and threats against Muslims have surged nationally, most likely fueled by national and international terrorist attacks and political vitriol,” it added.

The “I Am Muslim” campaign is just the beginning.

Next year, the Commission on Human Rights plans a “city-wide public information and integrated multi-platform marketing campaign on combating xenophobia and embracing religious diversity in New York City.”

“Now more than ever, it is important for every New Yorker to stand united as one city and reject hate and violence,” de Blasio said.

“Bill de Blasio has made it pretty clear he isn’t very interested in aggressively fighting against radical Islam,” commented Andrew Mark Miller on Young Conservatives.

“Nice to see that Bill has his priorities straight. De Blasio is part of the problem,” he added.

“Words aren’t killing people. Radical Islam is,” he concluded.

Readers of The Daily Caller were underwhelmed by the ad campaign.

“BS ad campaigns — none of them are as effective as a terrorist attack in motivating people in the opposite direction. DeBlasio must think that his fellow leftist morons will respond to idiot propaganda. Maybe he’s right about them, but not about anyone with a brain. Nevertheless, he skrews EVERYONE over with his waste of tax money,” wrote Time_4A_Change.

“I swear, de Blasio is the kind of PC clown who, if he’d lived during World War II, would have watched news footage of the Holocaust and thought to himself, “Oh my, that’s just awful. Not the gas chambers — the possibility that because of them, Nazis in America could experience animosity from everyday citizens,” commented a writer using the name Media Bladders. The Harbinger of Baal Appears in U.S. City!

Another harbinger has appeared in the land – and this one in New York City.

In the last days of ancient Israel, warnings, prophetic signs and harbingers appeared in the land, foreshadowing the judgment to come. The nation ignored these harbingers and headed to destruction.

In “The Harbinger,” the mystery is revealed that those same harbingers and warnings of national judgment have now appeared on American soil. But in the ancient case, Israel ignored the warnings and plunged even deeper into apostasy, immorality, ungodliness and brazen defiance of God. America is following the exact same template of judgment, the same course and the same progression.

But Israel’s defiance of God was linked to a specific entity – the god Baal. Baal was the god to whom they sacrificed their children, before whom they practiced sexual immorality and called good “evil” and evil “good.” Baal was the god in whose name Israel persecuted the prophets and the righteous of their day.

Baal was their anti-god, their substitute for the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the god of their apostasy and the god of their destruction. Baal was their devil god. In fact the name for satan, Beelzebul and Beelzebub, is derived from Baal – meaning “Baal of the flies” and “Baal of dung.” (Read more from “The Harbinger of Baal Appears in U.S. City!” HERE)

NYC Police Union Calls for Tarantino Boycott After Anti-Cop Rally

The city’s police union is calling for a boycott of Quentin Tarantino films after the “Pulp Fiction’’ director took part in an anti-cop rally less than a week after an officer was killed on the job.

“When I see murders, I do not stand by . . . I have to call the murderers the murderers,” the director — notorious for his violent movies — told a crowd of protesters in Washington Square Park on Saturday, adding that cops are too often “murderers.”

Patrick Lynch, president of the Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association, lashed out against the “Reservoir Dogs” auteur Sunday.

“It’s no surprise that someone who makes a living glorifying crime and violence is a cop-hater, too,” Lynch said in a statement.

“The police officers that Quentin Tarantino calls ‘murderers’ aren’t living in one of his depraved big-screen fantasies — they’re risking and sometimes sacrificing their lives to protect communities from real crime and mayhem. Officials Order Cooling Tower Inspections to Battle Deadly Legionnaires’ Outbreak in NYC

gty_legionnaires_disease_tk_120111_wmainNew York State health officials are ordering widespread inspections of cooling facilities to try to stem New York City’s worst outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease, which had killed 10 people and infected a reported 101 people as of Friday afternoon.

The state and the city are collaborating with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to suppress the outbreak, Commissioner of Health for New York State, Dr. Howard Zucker, said during a press conference Friday afternoon.

“While it is clearly a significant outbreak in the Bronx, this is a state-wide issue and the governor is monitoring Legionnaire’s statewide,” Zucker said . . .

“We want to be confident that every cooling tower in this city is clean,” said Dr. Mary Bassett, commissioner of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. “The city will be taking a lead for the nation in making sure our cooling towers are safe.”

The respiratory disease, which causes pneumonia-like symptoms, isn’t transmitted from person to person but rather by contact with the bacterium Legionella. The bacteria can thrive in warm water and become especially dangerous when the water is turned into a mist that can be inhaled. Medical investigators have linked past outbreaks to public fountains, air conditioning systems, spas, showers and even the misters than keep fruit moist in supermarkets. Every Al Sharpton Business Has Been Shut Down in at Least One Jurisdiction

A review of public records in New York and Delaware has revealed that every business started by Al Sharpton has been shut down in at least one jurisdiction for failure to pay taxes.

According to National Review Online, the records of Sharpton’s organizations are “copious, confusing, and sometimes outright bizarre; and together, they depict persistent financial woes for Sharpton, who also personally owes New York State nearly $596,000, according to active tax warrants.”

Bernadette Schopfer, the director of taxation at New York’s Maier Markey & Justic, a certified public-accounting firm that has had no dealings with Sharpton, stated:

He clearly appears — based on the information that’s available to us — to have a history of noncompliance with tax obligations. It appears that [Sharpton] does not file [taxes for his businesses], and then opens up something else. At all the entities we see he has opened up, he has not been compliant with the obligations of the owner of a business. . . . He’s either willful in his behavior, or he’s just sloppy.

Sharpton’s first company, Raw Talent, picked up a lot of tax debt and finally dissolved in 2002 for failure to pay taxes.

Revel Communications, his second company, started in 1999. It either failed to file or pay taxes from 1999 to 2002.

He also started another for-profit entity, Sharpton Media Group. A spokeswoman for National Action Network, Sharpton’s non-profit organization, stated that Sharpton Media Group ceased to operate after a tax settlement. (Read more about the Sharpton business being shut down HERE)

NYPD Barred from Vacation Time Until Arrests Increase

Photo Credit: Breitbart By Dan Riehl. Across New York City, policemen are being put on notice by higher ups, get back to business as usual, or no vacations, or sick days, according to reports.

And borough commanders want to see the proof. “Throughout the city, precincts are being ordered to hand up to borough commanders ‘activity sheets’ indicating the number of arrests and summonses per shift…”

Said one union source, according to the New York Post, “Police officers around the city are now threatened with transfers, no vacation time and sick time unless they write summonses.”

Ironically, it was some of this very type of activity that has led NYPD critics to label them part of the problem, not the solution. At the same time, the slow down in issuing summonses is said to be impacting city revenue.(Read more about NYPD barred from vacation till they do more arrests HERE)

nypd at ramos funeralBy Associated Press. NEW YORK — Hundreds of officers outside the church where a funeral [was] held for a policeman killed along with his partner in an ambush shooting turned their backs on the mayor as he spoke during Saturday’s service.

The reaction from officers watching Officer Rafael Ramos’ funeral on giant TV screens outside the church follows comments from police union officials who said Mayor Bill de Blasio contributed to a climate of mistrust toward police amid anti-police protests.

Giuliani Says de Blasio “Needs to Apologize”

By Greg Richter. Giuliani appeared Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” where he was challenged by guest host Major Garrett. . .

Giuliani said it was wrong for officers to take the action against de Blasio and also wrong for the police union head Pat Lynch to blame the mayor for the officers’ deaths.

But he said de Blasio should apologize to the NYPD.

“I think he’d get this over with if he did it,” Giuliani said.

“Mayor de Blasio, please say you’re sorry to them for having created a false impression of them,” he said. (Read more from this story HERE)

GIULIANI: OBAMA USES SHARPTON AS A ‘POSTER BOY FOR HATING THE POLICE’

By Pam Key. Sunday on CBS’s “Face The Nation,” former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said President Barack Obama’s close relationship with Al Sharpton makes it clear to law enforcement across America he doesn’t understand them.

“He has had Al Sharpton to the White House 85 times,” Giuliani said. “Often when he’s talking abut police issues, he has Al Sharpton sitting next to him. If we would like to have a poster boy for hating the police, it’s Al Sharpton. To make him an adviser you turn the police in America against you. You’re going to tell the police in America we don’t understand you. I saw this man help cause riots in New York. I’ve heard his anti-police invective first hand. To have a man who hasn’t paid $4 million in taxes, to have a man who spent his career creating riots, phony stories about police, to have that man sitting next to you, speaks volumes. You know actions speak louder than words. You put Al Sharpton next to you, you just told everyone I’m against the police.” (Read more from this story HERE)

Outrage as Mayor de Blasio to Speak at Slain Cop's Funeral (+video)

By Kerry Picket. De Blasio’s office announced his plans in a press release Friday night. The funeral of Wenjian Liu, who was shot execution-style in the same squad car as Ramos on December 20, is still being arranged.

A petition circulated by the NYC Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association president Patrick Lynch almost two weeks ago urged police officers to demand that de Blasio not attend their funerals if they die in the line of duty.

The petition was triggered after de Blasio made remarks in reaction to a Staten Island grand jury decision that did not indict NYPD Officer Daniel Pantaleo for the death of Eric Garner, a man Pantaleo restrained in a headlock during an attempted arrest in July. New York City law enforcement found themselves at odds with the mayor when he said his biracial 17-year old son Dante should be as fearful of the NYPD as the criminals in the city. Anti-Police Protestors Crash Memorial for Slain NYPD Officers

By Noah Rothman. Part of the reason for the major public rift between New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and the police forces he commands has been the freedom that anti-police protesters have enjoyed over the past several weeks.

New York Police Department officers chafed over allowing protesters, incensed over the decision of a Staten Island grand jury to issue no-bill over the killing of Eric Garner, to take over major arteries in the city. In the wake of that grand jury’s decision, protesters crowded the FDR Drive, halted traffic on the West Side Highway, temporarily blocked circulation in and out of the Lincoln Tunnel, and seized the Brooklyn Bridge. For commuters traveling over the Thanksgiving Holiday, the unmistakable impression they got was that New York’s new and inexperienced mayor was on the side of the protesters rather than those who were abiding by city and state laws.

According to a report via the well-connected Maggie Haberman and Glenn Thrush in Politico, those commuters were not entirely unmistaken. Though de Blasio may not have felt himself entirely in league with the protest movement, he certainly sought to cater to them so as to avoid inflaming an already volatile situation. . .

This disconnect between America’s elected officials, who have been effectively intimidated by a small but menacing anti-law enforcement protest movement and the greater public has, in part, fueled the backlash against the mayor’s office in the wake of the execution-style murder of two NYPD officers. Anti-de Blasio Banner Flown over NYC

By Sean Higgins. Rank and file New York City police officers dramatically escalated their feud with Mayor Bill De Blasio Friday. A group of them reportedly hired a plane to fly over the city while carrying a banner that said: “De Blasio Our Backs Have Turned To You.”

The plane reportedly flew five circles above the Hudson River before returning to a local airport.

John Cardillo, a retired NYC police officer, stated on his blog that he had arranged for the banner after hundreds of people on the police force asked him to do it on their behalf. The banner refers to an incident last week when cops literally turned their backs to De Blasio when he visited a hospital shortly after two Brooklyn cops, Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos, had been fatally shot by a man who was reportedly motivated by his hatred of police.

The shooter was reportedly angered after a grand jury refused on Dec. 3 to indict a police officer in the July death of Eric Garner, a Staten Island man who had been allegedly selling illegal cigarettes. Garner died after being restrained in a chokehold, an incident that sparked mass city-wide anti-police protests. (Read more from this story HERE)

Abortion Destroying Minority Communities: 82% of Abortions in NYC, 64% in Texas, Black and Hispanic Babies

Photo Credit: LifeNewsThe new report from the Centers for Disease Control had good numbers across the nation when it came to abortion — with abortions declining three percent in 2010 after a five percent decrease in 2009. But they also contained shocking figures showing abortion targets blacks and Hispanics.

The CDC Abortion Surveillance Report dated November 29, 2013 reveals that in 2010, 56.7% of abortions reported to the CDC nationwide were done on Hispanic and Black women.

According to the report, there were 415,479 abortions for known ethnicity reported for selected states in 2010 and 153,045 (or 36.8 percent) were non-Hispanic white babies, 148,261 (or 35.7 percent) were non-Hispanic black babies, 87,240 (or 21.0 percent) were Hispanic babies, and 26,933 (or 6.5 percent) were babies of other races or ethnicities.

The report reveals that a majority of Black or Hispanic babies were aborted in New Jersey (55.9 percent), the District of Columbia (64.8 percent) and Georgia (73.2 percent). In New York City alone 81.9 percent of the babies aborted were Black or Hispanic while in the state of Texas 63.7 percent were Black or Hispanic an increase from 2009.

One leading pro-life activist tells LifeNews the CDC report confirms what many pro-life groups have been saying about abortion and the founder of the Planned Parenthood abortion business, that a eugenics-based racial discrimination is involved.

Women File Hundreds of Complaints Against Indiana Abortionist

Women have filed more than 600 complaints against an Indiana-based abortion practitioner saying he submitted false and misleading reports to state health officials about their abortions.

Representatives from Indiana Right to Life and Lake County Right to Life held a press conference late Tuesday announcing that 626 consumer complaints were filed against Gary’s Friendship Family Planning abortion doctor Ulrich Klopfer, who lives in Illinois but does abortions in Indiana. Each complaint is the result of a terminated pregnancy report containing errors or omissions, the group says.

Klopfer is the same abortion practitioner who has come under fire for failing to report abortions on teen girls who were victims of rape.

Indiana law requires abortion doctors to submit terminated pregnancy reports to the Indiana State Department of Health for every abortion performed. Complaints were sent today to the Indiana Attorney General and delivered to the Lake County Prosecutor. The complaints come less than two months after 17 women filed nearly 500 complaints against Klopfer for improper terminated pregnancy reports for abortions done in Allen County, Indiana.

As the groups informed LifeNews, “Lake County Right to Life and Indiana Right to Life requested copies of the publicly-available terminated pregnancy reports from the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) and reviewed each report supplied by ISDH for abortions done between July 2011 and June 2013. Every terminated pregnancy report had errors or omissions, ranging between one and 15 mistakes per report. In total, pro-life officials found 3,678 errors and omissions on the 626 reports.

Judge Halts New York City Ban on Large Sugary Drinks

New York City’s planned ban on the sale of large sugary drinks won’t go into effect Tuesday after a state judge blocked the restrictions, calling them “arbitrary and capricious.”

“The court finds that the regulation … is laden with exceptions based on economic and political concerns,” Justice Milton Tingling wrote. Mayor Michael Bloomberg quickly vowed to appeal the decision, countering that the city’s health department has the legal authority to use the ban to fight an obesity epidemic.

“We believe that the judge’s decision was clearly in error and that we will prevail on appeal,” Bloomberg told reporters.

Scheduled to begin at midnight, the law would have restricted the sale of sugary drinks to no more than 16 ounces in restaurants, fast-food eateries, movie theaters and stadiums. But the law would have exempted a variety of retailers, including 7-Eleven, seller of the iconic “Big Gulp” drinks, because it is regulated by the state, not the city.

“The effect would be a person is unable to buy a drink larger than 16 ounces at one establishment but may be able to buy it at another establishment that may be located right next door,” Tingling wrote.
