De Blasio Booed off Stage, Protesters Turn Their Backs at George Floyd Rally; NYPD ‘Is Losing the City of New York’

By New York Post. Mayor Bill de Blasio was shouted down with boos and shouts of “F— you, de Blasio” when he tried to take the podium at a George Floyd protest in Brooklyn on Thursday.

“F— the mayor’s curfew!” some shouted. “Turn your back! Turn your back!” others shouted. Many in the crowd did turn their backs.

“Shut the f— up!” protesters shouted.

The heckling was so intense, the mayor kept his remarks under five minutes, and then was no longer seen on the stage. . .

The crowd turning their backs on de Blasio comes after police have repeatedly turned their backs on the mayor at funerals for slain officers. (Read more from “De Blasio Booed off Stage, Protesters Turn Their Backs at George Floyd Rally” HERE)

Police Union Boss Says ‘NYPD Is Losing the City of New York,’ Begs Cuomo, Trump to Send Reinforcements

By Fox News. The head of a prominent New York City police union told “The Ingraham Angle” Tuesday that President Trump should consider sending federal personnel to prevent more rioting and looting in America’s biggest city.

“NYPD is losing the city of New York and we have no leadership in the city of New York right now, from City Hall to the brass of the NYPD,” New York Sergeants Benevolent Association President Ed Mullins told Laura Ingraham. “The men and women are being pelted with rocks, bricks, cars [are] lit on fire. And this is continuous. We have a curfew that’s been implemented tonight at eight o’clock and everyone is still out rioting in the streets in New York.”

“President Trump is watching it. I am asking the president to please, please immediately send federal personnel to New York City and monitor what is going on,” Mullins said. “If Governor Cuomo does not implement the National Guard immediately, then the federal government is going to have to step in.”

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced earlier Tuesday that an 8 p.m. curfew for the city will be extended through the end of the week following another night of looting, destruction and “vicious attacks on police officers.”

Mullins told Ingraham that the NYPD was “more than capable” of handling the unrest, but added that local leaders have held them back. (Read more from “Police Union Boss Says ‘NYPD Is Losing the City of New York,’ Begs Cuomo, Trump to Send Reinforcements” HERE)

Travel From New York City Primary Source for U.S. Coronavirus Infections; At Least 85 Kids Across U.S. Have Developed Rare, Mysterious COVID-19-Linked Illness

By New York Times. New York City’s coronavirus outbreak grew so large by early March that the city became the primary source of new infections in the United States, new research reveals, as thousands of infected people traveled from the city and seeded outbreaks around the country.

The research indicates that a wave of infections swept from New York City through much of the country before the city began setting social distancing limits to stop the growth. That helped to fuel outbreaks in Louisiana, Texas, Arizona and as far away as the West Coast.

The findings are drawn from geneticists’ tracking signature mutations of the virus, travel histories of infected people and models of the outbreak by infectious disease experts. (Read more from “Travel From New York City Primary Source for U.S. Coronavirus Infections” HERE)

At Least 85 Kids Across U.S. Have Developed Rare, Mysterious COVID-19-Linked Illness

By NBC News. Children with a rare but potentially dangerous complication thought to be linked to the coronavirus have now been identified in at least seven states and the Washington, D.C., area.

Doctors say the increase does not necessarily suggest that the number of such cases has grown. Instead, they say, it is likely the result of increased awareness of the problem, which just this week got an official name: pediatric multisystem inflammatory syndrome.

NBC News has found at least 85 such cases in children across the U.S. The majority — 64 — are in New York state, which has also recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases overall.

Other cases include four patients at Boston Children’s Hospital, an estimated five to 10 at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, three at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, three at Nemours Children’s Health System in Delaware, three at Ochsner Medical Center in Louisiana and one at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Coronavirus Pandemic: Dozens of Bodies Found Stacked in Unrefrigerated U-Haul Trucks Outside of Funeral Home

An investigation is underway in New York City after authorities uncovered dozens of decomposing bodies in unrefrigerated trucks outside a funeral home.

In addition to being stacked in the U-Haul trucks, there were also reportedly bodies lying on the floor inside the facility. Sources told the New York Post that police discovered about 40 to 60 corpses when they arrived Wednesday at the scene outside Andrew T. Cleckley Funeral Services in Brooklyn.

Sgt. Jessica McRorie, a spokeswoman with the New York Police Department, told the Washington Examiner that police responded to a 911 call at about 11:30 a.m. She said officers were able to determine that the trucks were owned by a nearby funeral home. McRorie said that the New York State Department of Health and the state’s Department of Environmental Protection were conducting the investigation into the discovery.

The funeral home began storing bodies improperly after its freezer stopped working, a law enforcement source told the New York Times. . .

The NYPD was reportedly contacted after neighbors near the funeral home reported a foul odor coming from the property. One man who owns a nearby property, John DiPietro, told the New York Post he had seen bodies being placed in the trucks as the coronavirus continues to ravage New York. Study: Nearly All NYC Coronavirus Patients Had Underlying Health Conditions; NYC Struggles With Growing Homeless Population Amid Crisis

By Disrn. Nearly all the patients hospitalized for the coronavirus in New York City had underlying health conditions, according to a new study.

Health records showed that 94% of the 5,700 patients in the Northwell Health system — which has had the most patients in the country during the pandemic — had at least one disease other than COVID-19, according to the Journal of the American Medical Association. 88% had more than one ailment on top of coronavirus. . .

Hypertension was the most common ailment, affecting 53% of coronavirus patients. Another 42% of patients who had a body mass index on file were obese and 32% of all patients had diabetes. (Read more from “Study: Nearly All NYC Coronavirus Patients Had Underlying Health Conditions” HERE)

NYC Struggles With Growing Homeless Population Amid Coronavirus Crisis

By Fox News. As the nation obeys orders to stay home amid the coronavirus crisis, it’s an impossible feat for the country’s homeless population. In New York City, more than 78,000 people, including children, are homeless.

“You have doctors and health professionals saying to stay home. You can’t do that. You can’t protect yourself,” said Giselle Routhier, the Coalition for the Homeless policy director. The New York City Department of Homeless Services is tracking more than 650 COVID-19 cases with 51 deaths so far.

To slow the spread, the city will move people into hotels starting with at-risk seniors and single adults to improve social distancing.

“We have had Bowery Mission Guests who have been in our setting, become ill, gone to the hospital and now gone into a hotel. Now we actually have direct access to the hotel rooms this week for the first time, which will help keep our space safe and healthy,” said James Winans, the Bowery Mission’s interim CEO.

The city is reportedly working to make 2,500 rooms available but organizations like #HomelessCantStayHome say it’s not enough. As many New Yorkers steer clear of the subway, the homeless are not. The Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) says the city should handle the growing number of people living in the cars during the pandemic. De Blasio’s ‘Snitch Line’ Isn’t Going so Well

Critics have slammed Mayor Bill de Blasio’s call to snitch on New Yorkers who break social-distancing rules by flooding a newly-developed tip line with obscene images.

In an announcement on Saturday, de Blasio said that the city had set up a service that would allow residents to snap a photo of an offending person or crowd, set the location, and text it to the number 311-692.

But some New Yorkers had other plans, sending in the likes of “d**k pics” and pictures of them flicking off the system.

In other images, reported by the New York Post, de Blasio could be seen with a Hitler mustache edit onto his face, while another showed a series of candies shaped like penises and a sign saying “EAT A BAG OF D**KS.”

There were also more direct attacks at de Blasio himself, with individuals sharing images of the mayor dropping the Staten Island groundhog, and others forwarding coverage of de Blasio heading to the gym – an act that garnered criticism for breaking social distancing rules. NYC Added 279 Coronavirus Cases in One Day; Younger Adults Make up Big Portion of Coronavirus Hospitalizations in U.S.

By Washington Examiner. Mayor Bill de Blasio painted a terrifying picture of New York City’s battle against the spread of the coronavirus.

The city has faced one of the worst outbreaks of COVID-19 in the United States. During an interview on MSNBC on Tuesday night, de Blasio seemed surprised by the illness’s effect on the city.

“I’m really sorry to tell you this cause the number has gone up literally over 100 cases in the course of the day. We’re at 923 cases at this hour tonight with 10 people who have passed away,” de Blasio reported. “In the city alone.”

He continued, “It’s unbelievable how rapidly this crisis is growing right now.”

On Tuesday morning, the city had 644 cases, showing a daylong jump of 279 cases. This rapid increase may also be affected by the increased availability of coronavirus tests in the city. (Read more from “NYC Added 279 Coronavirus Cases in One Day” HERE)

Younger Adults Make Up Big Portion of Coronavirus Hospitalizations in U.S.

By New York Times. American adults of all ages — not just those in their 70s, 80s and 90s — are being seriously sickened by the coronavirus, according to a report on nearly 2,500 of the first recorded cases in the United States.

The report, issued Wednesday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, found that — as in other countries — the oldest patients had the greatest likelihood of dying and of being hospitalized. But of the 508 patients known to have been hospitalized, 38 percent were notably younger — between 20 and 54. And nearly half of the 121 patients who were admitted to intensive care units were adults under 65, the C.D.C. reported.

“I think everyone should be paying attention to this,” said Stephen S. Morse, a professor of epidemiology at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. “It’s not just going to be the elderly. There will be people age 20 and up. They do have to be careful, even if they think that they’re young and healthy.” (Read more from “Younger Adults Make up Big Portion of Coronavirus Hospitalizations in U.S.” HERE)

New York Officials Order 1,000 Quarantined Fearing Possible Contact With Coronavirus Patients

By The Blaze. Roughly 1,000 people in New York City have been ordered quarantined by health officials, most over fears that they many may have come in contact with any of five individuals in one community who have tested positive for the coronavirus known as COVID-19. . .

The Washington Post reported that the outbreak began as such: “First, a lawyer who commutes between the suburbs and his midtown Manhattan office was diagnosed with the coronavirus. Then, his wife and children tested positive, along with a neighbor who drove him to the hospital.”

The lawyer was admitted to a hospital and his wife and the two children were quarantined in their home. One of the kids, a boy, is a student who lived on campus at Yeshiva University, according to the New York Post. The outlet noted that “his 14-year-old sister attends the private Jewish SAR Academy in Riverdale that closed Tuesday for ‘precautionary measures.'”

Now, anyone who came into contact with the family or the neighbor either through the kids’ schools, the parents’ law firm, their medical treatment, the family’s synagogue, or in any other capacity have been ordered by health officials to self-quarantine. . .

In addition to the folks who may have come in contact with the family or the neighbor, Gov. Andrew Cuomo told reporters that another 300 study-abroad students at state-run universities are being recalled back from countries with high numbers of coronavirus cases, namely China, Italy, Japan, Iran, and South Korea. Those students will be quarantined for 14 days. (Read more from “New York Officials Order 1,000 Quarantined Fearing Possible Contact With Coronavirus Patients” HERE)

Five More New York Coronavirus Cases Confirmed, Bringing State Total to 11

By New York Post. New York’s tally of coronavirus cases rose to 11 on Wednesday, as officials revealed that nine people linked to an infected Westchester attorney tested positive — and some 1,000 people were asked to self-isolate.

“This is the most complex case we’ve had in terms of the number of interactions,” Gov. Cuomo said at an afternoon press briefing in Albany announcing the most recent batch of confirmed cases.

Since the lawyer — identified by sources as Lawrence Garbuz, 50, of New Rochelle — on Tuesday became the second Empire State resident to test positive for the contagion, those around him have fallen like dominoes. NY Crime Skyrockets, Shootings up 60%, Following Prison Reduction Agenda

No ordinary citizen can legally carry a gun in New York City, yet shootings are up 59.6 percent over this time last year. On Sunday, a pregnant woman was shot while sitting in her own car in front of her home in Queens. This is becoming the new normal in New York after the memo has gone out to criminals in the city that politicians fear growing the prison population more than they fear crime.

According to NYPD crime data, in addition to the 59.6 percent spike in shootings over this time last year, robberies increased 32.8 percent and grand larceny auto crimes were up a whopping 62.8 percent. Burglaries rose by 17 percent. This is just for the first 26 days of 2020.

What gives? According to NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea, it’s no mystery. It’s all about New York’s law abolishing bail. “If you let out individuals that commit a lot of crime, that’s precision policing in reverse and we’re seeing the effects in a very quick time,” Shea said at a press conference last Friday. He decried the undeniable “correlation” between the rise in crime and the jail and prison “populations dropping significantly.”

This is the other side of the criminal justice equation that politicians, including country club Republicans, refuse to recognize. As they are focused like a laser beam on reducing the prison population, they are ignoring the human nature of violent criminals. These criminals simply see no deterrent against their destructive behavior, and for good reason. Thus, whatever form of crime it is they like to engage in, they will continue repeating it until they are locked up. One criminal in Staten Island, who had a history of vehicle theft, was arrested for breaking into vehicles three times in three weeks. He was released every time!

The backward priorities of criminal over victim inherent in criminal justice “reform” are perhaps best reflected by an anecdote told by Commissioner Shea during last week’s press conference. Last week, a drunk driver slammed his minivan into a police officer who had pulled over another driver at the side of a road, catching the officer between his car and the officer’s car. “I stopped at the hospital the next day, right before he was wheeled into surgery,” related Shea in front of reporters last Friday. “He got out of the hospital today. Individual that did it was out [of jail] before him. I mean, something’s wrong with that picture. And not his first DWI arrest.”

With a rampant drug crisis raging, the worst drug traffickers face no deterrent. This week, six fentanyl traffickers working for Dominican cartel distributors, three of whom are in the country illegally, were released without bail. Over 1,400 people have died every year over the past few years as a result of drug overdoses in the big city.

Repeat armed robbers are being let out only to rob again. Then, once the criminals are out, they have no incentive to show up for their court date, and many are just ignoring the notices to appear. After all, what are the cops going to do to them?

The fact that criminals know the entire weight of the political universe is against incarceration these days is incentivizing them to victimize with impunity. New York’s experience is demonstrating that most people locked up are dangerous to society. When they are let loose, crime will go up. This is not about nonviolent, victimless crimes, as proponents of these “reforms” repeat ad nauseum.

The truth of the “reform” movement was boldly revealed last week by Danielle Sered, the head of one of these well-monied interests seeking to abolish the concept of incarceration. In an op-ed for USA Today titled, “To end mass incarceration, U.S. needs alternatives to prison for violent crimes,” Sered concedes that the entire narrative for jailbreak is built on a fallacy.

As consensus and momentum to end mass incarceration have grown, the reform narrative, though compelling, has been based on a fallacy: that the United States can achieve large-scale, transformative change by changing responses primarily to nonviolent offenses. That is impossible in a nation where 55% of people incarcerated in state prisons in 2016 (the latest available Bureau of Justice Statistics data) were convicted of violent crimes. To truly have an impact on mass incarceration, we need to reckon with that reality.

Indeed! As I’ve noted before, there are actually very few people in prison for nonviolent offenses, and in fact, there are hundreds of thousands of violent offenders who are not locked up. Sered lives in her own alternative reality of abolishing prison even with this in mind. But for the 90 percent of the country that doesn’t want that, they are seeing the reality of violent crime, undeterred, play out every day in New York. Prison culture ain’t pretty. But turning every American city into a violent prison is not an option. (For more from the author of “NY Crime Skyrockets, Shootings up 60%, Following Prison Reduction Agenda” please click HERE)

NYC Plans Statues to Honor Seven Women — Two of Them Were Actually Men

New York City has selected seven women to honor with statues placed around the city, two of whom were actually born male.

The statues were planned as part of the “She Built NYC” initiative spearheaded by the first lady of NYC, Mayor Bill de Blasio’s wife Chirlane McCray, meant to celebrate the women who had a hand in making the city what it is today.

McCray, along with former Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen, announced the project in June of 2018, saying that they would take nominations from the public and a committee would narrow down the suggestions to choose a winner. . .

[Marsha] Johnson and [Sylvia] Rivera, neither of whom were born female, are set to be honored with a joint monument in Manhattan. . .

Mother Frances Xavier Cabrini, an Italian-American woman who was the first American to be recognized as a saint by the Catholic Church, reportedly received the most votes from New Yorkers when McCray asked for public submissions — but she was still passed over when the final selections were made.

TERRIFYING: New Yorkers More Likely to Die From Late-Term Abortion Than Homicide

More babies died from abortion at 21 weeks’ gestation or over in 2015 than there were people killed by homicide in New York City, new figures reveal. . .

Data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and published by the New York Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), reveal that the number of abortions at or after 21 weeks was 1,485 while the number of homicides was 352.

CNS News observed that while there were approximately 0.96 people per day victimised by “murder and non-negligent manslaughter” in New York City in 2015, there were approximately 4.1 babies at 21 weeks’ gestational age or older who were aborted per day in the same city. . .

And these numbers are only likely to get higher, as New York recently passed some of the most extreme abortion legislation in the world, removing abortion from the penal lawand allowing it up to birth in some cases. The legislation also removes babies over 24 weeks from the state’s definition of homicide. . .

The figures come in the context of fierce debate and media controversy around late-term abortion and infanticide in the last few months. Days after New York politicians cheered the passing of the extreme abortion bill, a video went viral of a Virginia House Delegate defending proposed legislation that would allow abortions up until the moment of birth.
