Justice Is Coming for Man Caught on Camera Viciously Beating Grandma on Subway

By The Blaze. New York City Police have arrested a man they say is responsible for viciously beating a homeless woman on the NYC subway.

The seemingly unprovoked attack was caught on camera, and sparked outrage nationwide because witnesses were seen filming the attack rather than intervening and trying to help the 78-year-old victim.

Police charged Gomez with felony assault. He was ordered held in jail in lieu of $30,000 bail, the New York Post reported.

Man Charged in Subway Attack on 78-Year-Old Woman That Was Caught on Video, Police Say

By The New York Times. The attack, which took place around 3 a.m. on March 10, surfaced this week when a video of the assault was posted to the internet. The recording of the attack had received more than 10 million views as of Saturday afternoon.

The video showed a tall man wearing jeans, glasses, a leather jacket and a knit cap forcefully kicking the woman at least six times as she sat on a northbound No. 2 train that was pulling into the Nereid Avenue station. Bystanders recorded the encounter and shouted but did not intervene.

As the man made his way off the train, he turned to the passengers recording and said, “WorldStar that” — a reference to a popular website that often showcases clips of violent altercations. The New York Times Just Made a Stunning Admission About Why Leftists Often Refuse to Call out Anti-Semitism

On Wednesday, The New York Times ran a story about rising anti-Semitism in the city. That story noted some points that seem to have gone by the wayside for years. The article reveals that Jews are by far the most targeted group in New York:

Contrary to what are surely the prevailing assumptions, anti-Semitic incidents have constituted half of all hate crimes in New York this year, according to the Police Department. To put that figure in context, there have been four times as many crimes motivated by bias against Jews — 142 in all — as there have against blacks. Hate crimes against Jews have outnumbered hate crimes targeted at transgender people by a factor of 20.

The story also reveals that hate crimes against Jews in New York City aren’t coming from white supremacists, but from people driven by other motives:

During the past 22 months, not one person caught or identified as the aggressor in an anti-Semitic hate crime has been associated with a far right-wing group, Mark Molinari, commanding officer of the police department’s Hate Crimes Task Force, told me.

Those motives range from racial hatred to religious hatred. But the Times story reveals far more than that. The Times admits that the Left has routinely ignored anti-Semitism in the city thanks to its inability to formulate a narrative blaming the Right. Homeless Protest Hits Mayor’s Mansion – Here’s What They’re Demanding

By The Blaze. Hundreds of homeless and homeless advocates marched against the policies of New York City Mayor de Blasio in front of Gracie Mansion Wednesday. . .

The homeless protesters demanded that de Blasio use the power of the city government to provide them with 30,000 units of affordable housing.

“I am presently homeless and I need the mayor to hear us,” protester Felix Guzman said. “We are faced with a problem that has divided the whole city between the haves and the have nots.”

“The homeless community is sick and tired of these ridiculous things that the mayor is doing,” said ‘Picture The Homeless’ advocate Deborah Dickerson.

“You live in this mansion right here and your children are provided for,” she continued. “Our children are in the shelter system sleeping and not getting enough to eat.” (Read more from “Homeless Protest Hits Mayor’s Mansion – Here’s What They’re Demanding” HERE)

Seattle Wants to Build a $3 Million ‘Mega Tent’ for the Homeless Amid a Crackdown on Illegal Camps

By Business Insider. The number of people without a permanent place to live is rising in Seattle, with over half of the metro population now living outside in tents, parks, vehicles, or along the city streets. In the last year, the city has had to contend with one of the most visible signs of the crisis — a growing string of homeless encampments teeming with garbage and stray belongings.

As the city weighs a more permanent solution to the problem, they’re also considering a temporary fix: A $3 million “mega tent.”

The idea was first proposed by city council member Teresa Mosqueda, who sees the tent as a way to provide immediate shelter to those living outdoors.

In addition to the $3 million construction cost, the city estimated that the tent would cost $2 million to operate, bringing the final total to $5 million. The funds would likely hail from an $89.5 million proposed budget for curbing homelessness in Seattle, which will be put to a vote in November. U.S. City Now Recognizes ‘X’ as Gender on Birth Certificates

By Fox News. A bill signed into law this week gives New York City residents the opportunity to change the gender on their birth certificate to a third, gender-neutral option.

The bill allows residents who don’t identify as either male or female to change the gender on their birth certificate to “X,” and also allows parents of newborns to choose the “X” option for their child.

In addition, the bill removes the requirement that residents need an affidavit from a doctor or mental health professional to change the gender on their birth certificates.

De Blasio said the third option is a way for residents who don’t identify as male or female to tell the government who they are — “not the other way around.”

The bill, which goes into effect on Jan. 1, comes after the city proposed the change in June. (Read more from “U.S. City Now Recognizes ‘X’ as Gender on Birth Certificates” HERE)

FBI Arrests Man Building 200-Pound Bomb to Blow Himself up in D.C.

By Daily Wire. Federal law enforcement officials arrested a 56-year-old man in Hudson Valley, New York on Tuesday after learning that he was allegedly planning an election day suicide in Washington, D.C. because he was angered over the nation’s politics.

Authorities say that the man was building a 200-pound bomb that he was planning to use to blow himself up with at the National Mall because of his “radical political beliefs,” CBS New York reported.

“As alleged, (the man) concocted a twisted plan to draw attention to his political ideology by killing himself on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. — risking harm to many others in the process,” U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said. (Read more from “FBI Arrests Man Building 200-Pound Bomb to Blow Himself up in D.C.” HERE)

Feds: NY Man Planned to Blow Himself up on National Mall on Election Day

By CBS New York. A New York man is under arrest for allegedly plotting to blow himself up on the National Mall on election day.

Paul Rosenfeld, 56, wanted to kill himself to draw attention to his “radical political beliefs,” authorities said.

“As alleged, Paul M. Rosenfeld concocted a twisted plan to draw attention to his political ideology by killing himself on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. risking harm to many others in the process,” said U.S. Attorney Geoffrey Berman. “Rosenfeld’s alleged plan for an Election Day detonation cut against our democratic principles.”

Rosenfeld allegedly supported a political belief called sortition, which advocates for random selection of government officials. He bought large quantities black powder over the internet to build a large bomb in his basement, authorities said. He had previously made and tested other small bombs, according to authorities. Socialist Ocasio-Cortez Claims She’s From the Bronx but New Information Shows Where She Really Grew up

The hardscrabble biography of Democrat Congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been called into question after the revelation that she grew up mostly in wealthy Westchester County.

Though Ocasio-Cortez, 28, was born in and currently lives in the Bronx, county land records show her late father Sergio Cortez-Roman bought a quaint three-bedroom in Yorktown Heights, New York in 1991, when she was about two.

It is an apparent contradiction with the candidate’s official biography, which states in part: ‘The state of Bronx public schools in the late 80s and early 90s sent her parents on a search for a solution. She ended up attending public school 40 minutes north in Yorktown, and much of her life was defined by the 40 minute commute between school and her family in the Bronx.’

Ocasio-Cortez also boasted on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show that President Donald Trump, born in Queens, wouldn’t know how to handle ‘a girl from the Bronx’ such as herself. . .

Little-known before her shock Democratic primary defeat of 10-term Congressional incumbent Joe Crowley on Tuesday night, Ocasio-Cortez has featured her own hard-luck biography as a key selling point in her insurgent campaign. Liberal Thugs in NYC Threaten Foreign Tourist, Take His MAGA Hat at Knife Point

By The Daily Caller. A New York City tourist from Denmark had his Make America Great Again hat stolen at knife point Thursday and was physically threatened when he tried to take it back.

The 18-year-old unnamed victim was headed for the subway near Union Square when he was accosted by two men who grabbed him from behind,” The New York Post reported.

Authorities say the victim fought back, but backed down after one of the suspects pulled out a knife and started doling out threats. (Read more from “Liberal Thugs in NYC Threaten Foreign Tourist, Take His MAGA Hat at Knife Point” HERE)

Tourist Mugged at Knifepoint for MAGA Hat

By The New York Post. A Danish tourist on a school trip was robbed at knifepoint by two thugs who snatched his “Make America Great Again” cap — and threatened him when he tried to get it back, authorities said . . .

“I began to shake, and as I heard the word knife I let the hat go,” he said.

Andersen said he bought the hat in New York — but never thought it would make him the victim of a crime.

“I bought it for my dad as a joke,” he said. “I don’t know why I decided to wear it. I didn’t think some people would take it so far to [try to] stab a tourist over a hat.” (Read more from “Tourist Mugged at Knifepoint for MAGA Hat” HERE)

Chick-Fil-A Answers NYC Mayor De Blasio’s Boycott Call With One Satisfying ‘Bless His Little Heart’ Move

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio called for a boycott of Chick-fil-A back in 2016 because of the company’s Christian values, but that didn’t stop the restaurant chain from building a Taj Mahal of an eatery in the Big Apple.

“I’m certainly not going to patronize them and I wouldn’t urge any other New Yorkers to patronize them,” be Blazio said at the time, after begrudgingly acknowledging that the company does “have a legal right” to exist.

Hizzoner can now endeavor to NOT patronize the largest Chick-fil-A in the country, conveniently located in New York City’s financial district. . .

The restaurant, locally owned and operated, is committed to giving back to the city, partnering with New York Common Pantry to provide meals to the hungry, as does other Chick-fil-A locations in the city . . .

“My family and I are honored to be opening a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Lower Manhattan, a part of the city we’ve always loved,” Cook said, according to Chic-fil-A’s website. “We’re so happy to be living, working and raising our children in the most vibrant city and neighborhood in the world. We want this restaurant to be a gathering place for everyone in the community.” (Read more from “Chick-Fil-A Answers NYC Mayor De Blasio’s Boycott Call With One Satisfying ‘Bless His Little Heart’ Move” HERE)

NYC Subways Cut ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ From Announcements

Riders of New York City’s subways will no longer hear the phrase “ladies and gentlemen” ringing across the PA system before the doors close, reported PIX11.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is opting for a more gender-neutral approach. Bus drivers and subway conductors are reportedly told to use words such as “passengers,” “riders” and “everyone.”

The change is effective immediately, reported the news outlet.

Transit staff was notified of the new policy in a bulletin earlier this week, which is part of the NYC Subway Action Plan to improve communication with its customers. (Read more from “NYC Subways Cut ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’ From Announcements” HERE)

Mystery Surrounds Metal Towers Popping up in NYC

Mysterious metal towers are popping up at local tunnels, and soon they’ll start appearing at bridges, too.

But even people on the MTA board in charge of the towers can’t say why they’re being used or what’s in them, CBS2’s Dave Carlin reports.

Jose Lugo said the tall metal towers quickly appeared up after the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel tolls booths came down.

“We don’t really know what’s the purpose of this,” he told Carlin.

It’s a $100 million MTA project shrouded in secrecy, with 18 of them for tunnels and bridges. So what are they exactly? (Read more from “Mystery Surrounds Metal Towers Popping up in NYC” HERE)
