Ohio Right to Life Fires Communications Director After Viral ‘Faith in Christ Alone’ Post

An Ohio pro-life group has dismissed its communications director after a Jewish Republican Congressman whose wife sits on the organization’s board criticized her for tweeting that “there is no hope for any of us outside of having faith in Jesus Christ alone.”

Elizabeth Marbach, the now former communications director of Ohio Right to Life, became the center of national media attention this week after Rep. Max Miller criticized her Tuesday post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Miller, who is Jewish, called the tweet “one of the most bigoted” tweets he had ever seen even though Miller’s sentiment is a mainstream belief of Christianity. Miller’s wife, Emily Moreno Miller, serves as a board member of Ohio Right to Life, a state-level group that educates the public about abortion and advocates for pro-life legislation.

Marbach told The Sentinel in a Thursday statement that she was let go from her position with Ohio Right to Life. Internal communications reviewed by the newspaper suggest that Marbach was given the opportunity to resign or enter a transitional period before dismissal but she declined. . .

“Ohio Right to Life can confirm that Elizabeth ‘Lizzie’ Marbach is no longer employed at Ohio Right to Life,” Ohio Right to Life CEO Peter Range wrote in a statement. “This decision was not based on any single event as some on social media claim. We appreciate Lizzie’s service and wish her the best in future endeavors.” (Read more from “Ohio Right to Life Fires Communications Director After Viral ‘Faith in Christ Alone’ Post” HERE)

Taxpayer-Funded LGBTQ Center Teaches Kids as Young as 11 ‘Fundamentals of Drag’

An LBGTQ center in Ohio partially funded by county taxpayers is holding a monthly session teaching children as young as 11 the “fundamentals of drag.”

The Colors+ Youth Center, roughly 15 miles from Cleveland, welcomes kids from ages 4 to 17, and states that it is “run by two licensed professional mental health counselors.”

“In collaboration with Drag Queen Story Hour Cleveland, we offer monthly drag tutorials on the 2nd Wednesday of every month from 6-7:30pm led by a local drag performer who teaches the fundamentals of drag (makeup, costume design, and performance),” the Colors+ website proclaims. “Youth are able to creatively express themselves in a safe, affirming, and age appropriate way. Funded by Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.”

The county funding comes from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture, which boasts that it is “one of the largest local public funders for arts and culture in the nation, helping hundreds of organizations in Cuyahoga County connect millions of people to cultural experiences each year,” adding, “Cuyahoga Arts & Culture is a strong steward of the public’s money, investing nearly $12 million annually in organizations that bring arts and culture to life in our communities. Each year we support tens of thousands of arts and culture programs and events that enhance the lives of Cuyahoga County residents.”

In July, the Colors+ Youth Center celebrated the election of one of its board members as President of the Ohio Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (OACES). (Read more from “Taxpayer-Funded LGBTQ Center Teaches Kids as Young as 11 ‘Fundamentals of Drag’” HERE)

White House Insists Biden Still Plans to Visit East Palestine Five Months After Train Derailment (VIDEO)

The White House claimed on Wednesday that President Joe Biden still plans to visit East Palestine, Ohio, five months after the Norfolk Southern train derailment disaster.

But White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre refused to share a date when a reporter raised a question about a visit, noting that Biden has “done a lot of travel in recent weeks and months” to other places.

“So, I’m just going to repeat what the president said,” Jean-Pierre said. “He will travel to the area, to East Palestine. Just don’t have anything to share on travel or upcoming dates that he’ll be there. But the president said it, he’s going to go. So he will go. Once we have a date, we’ll certainly share that.”

A Norfolk Southern freight train derailed on February 3 while passing through the small town of East Palestine, a village near Ohio’s border with Pennsylvania. Locals soon began to raise concerns about health and environmental threats posed by a controlled burn of toxic chemicals at the crash site meant to deter a large explosion. Baby Dies After Mother Allegedly Left Her Home Alone for 10 Days to Travel

A 16-month-old baby girl died in Cleveland, Ohio, after her mother allegedly left her at home for 10 days without making arrangements for the girl’s care, according to the Cleveland Public Records Center.

Public records show police officers and EMS responded to a call on June 16 at 3129 West 97th Street, where they found the little girl, and pronounced her dead.

The child was brought to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office for “further examination and investigation.” The investigation revealed that the baby, Jailyn, “had been left alone and unattended for approximately 10 days and had subsequently died,” according to NBC News.

Officers arrested the girl’s mother, Kristel Candelario, 31, June 17 after she returned from travel to Puerto Rico and Detroit, according to NBC News. She has been charged with murder.

East Palestine Mayor Endorses Trump: ‘Joe Was Too Busy to Visit’

East Palestine, Ohio mayor makes his case for why former President Trump is the true leader of the U.S. while taking shots at President Joe Biden and his shady son.

Mayor Trent Conaway endorsed Trump for 2024 while speaking at the annual Lincoln Day Dinner alongside Eric Trump, Jr. He was recognized for stepping up to the plate as his small town was affected by a toxic train derailment, leaving residents having to flee their homes.

While Biden, who has never visited the town, sat back and did nothing, Trump took the time and brought much-needed supplies, such as pallets of bottled water, to residents as hazardous material flooded East Palestine.

“I would first like to thank Joe Biden and Hunter Biden – oh, that’s right, they were busy,” Conaway began before praising the Trump family for helping the Ohio residents. (Read more from “East Palestine Mayor Endorses Trump: ‘Joe Was Too Busy to Visit’” HERE)

Half of U.S. Investigators Fell Ill While Studying East Palestine Train Derailment: Report

The Norfolk Southern 100-car train derailment and subsequent toxic chemical fallout in East Palestine, Ohio, caused nearly half of the U.S. government investigators to experience symptoms of illness while studying the health impacts, authorities said.

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention told CNN last week that seven of the 15-member crew, which included members of the Epidemic Intelligence Service, began feeling symptoms while surveying town residents’ homes near the contaminated areas.

“Symptoms resolved for most team members later the same afternoon, and everyone resumed work on survey data collection within 24 hours,” a CDC spokesperson told the network. “Impacted team members have not reported ongoing health effects.”

Local and state authorities previously evacuated all residents within one mile of the February 3 derailment and started a controlled burn of substances on the vehicle. Five of those train cars emitted vinyl chloride, a human carcinogen used to manufacture PVC, and formed massive plumes of black smoke visible throughout eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania. Residents have since raised the alarm over health symptoms they experienced after the controlled burn.

Before working from their hotels, some group members began experiencing sore throats, headaches, coughing, and nausea, which mirrored the symptoms reported by many of the town’s residents near the derailment site. Is It Safe? Unions Say Rail Workers Suffering From Migraines, Nausea at Ohio Crash Site

On the administrative front, the toxic train crash in East Palestine, Ohio, has made Pete Buttigieg do something in his capacity as transportation secretary. Okay, maybe that’s a stretch, but the former South Bend mayor’s presidential ambitions fall squarely on how he handles this derailment that caught the Biden administration off guard. Residents of the town, and the surrounding areas, are stricken with fear over the safety of the drinking water. The air quality is also suspect since local wildlife has been absent for days; deer and birds specifically have fled the area. Thousands of fish have died, and the updates on the region’s safety are scattered at best. Given the gross incompetence that infests this administration, I would also have misgivings.

Multiple railway unions have contacted Buttigieg to deliver more troubling news: their workers are getting sick at the crash site, stricken with migraines and nausea. Is it safe? Or will we have to wait another 20 days until we get an answer from Petey on this one (via NBC News):

The presidents of U.S. railroad unions told Biden administration officials that rail workers have fallen ill at the Norfolk Southern derailment site in East Palestine, Ohio, in a push for more train safety.

Leaders from 12 unions met with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Amit Bose, administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration, in Washington, D.C., Wednesday to discuss the derailment, aftermath and needed safety improvements.

[…]

According to the letter, Norfolk Southern rail workers who have worked or continue to work the cleanup site have reported experiencing “migraines and nausea.” One worker reportedly asked his supervisor to be transferred off the derailment site because of his symptoms, but never heard back from his supervisor and was left at the job site.

Researcher Worries Government Is Wrongly Declaring ‘Safety’ Near Ohio Train Crash

A senior researcher at Texas A&M University expressed concern that the EPA and other government agencies are neglecting to provide full information about the risks posed to residents of East Palestine, Ohio, in the wake of the Norfolk Southern train derailment and chemical fallout.

Local and state authorities previously evacuated all residents within one mile of the February 3 derailment and started a controlled burn of industrial chemicals on the vehicle to decrease the risk of an explosion, which could have sent shrapnel throughout the small town. Vinyl chloride, a known human carcinogen used to manufacture PVC, was emitted from five train cars in the form of massive plumes of black smoke visible throughout eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania.

Analysts from the Texas A&M Superfund Research Center and the Center for Atmospheric Particle Studies at Carnegie Mellon University announced last week that nine of the 50 chemicals the EPA said were present on the derailed train have higher concentrations than normal in East Palestine. They were especially concerned with above-normal levels of acrolein, a substance with a pungent odor that is highly toxic when inhaled, and warned of health concerns if above-normal levels of benzene, naphthalene, and vinyl chloride persist in the area.

The findings came after the EPA said that air and water quality tests have not produced cause for concern, while state-level authorities in both Ohio and Pennsylvania reached similar conclusions.

Ivan Rusyn, the director of the Texas A&M Superfund Research Center and the chair of the Texas A&M Interdisciplinary Faculty of Toxicology, told The Daily Wire that the officials “did not provide the full context into which the actual data collected by them could be placed.” He said that researchers from the two universities translated “the raw data posted by the agencies online” to determine the effects of continual inhalation and found that some of the chemicals would pose dangers if they persist for months or years. The Biden Administration’s Attacks and Misleading Excuses in East Palestine Can’t Survive Scrutiny

. . .’Blame the GOP’ is what they finally landed on, nearly three weeks after the accident. Naturally. It’s fair to point out that train derailments are more common than one might think in America, and it’s also fair to question if some Republican critiques of the Biden administration’s delayed and weak response to this incident may be somewhat hypocritical and political in nature (though the nature of this derailment distinguishes it from a ‘typical’ event in this category). Pointing the finger at the opposition party is feeble stuff, especially since it took them so long to cobble together their blame-storming talking points. But it also looks like it’s factually wrong:

The decision they’re trying to pin on Trump arises from a process that started under Obama. The Department of Transportation looked into the rule in question and determined that the benefits didn’t outweigh the costs, so the recommendation to follow through on the change (no longer mandating a certain type of brake on certain trains) was accepted and implemented during the Trump years. Crucially, under the regulations, the shift would not have applied to the train that derailed in Ohio, so “there’s no possible way to blame the rescinding of that rule” for what happened. But that didn’t stop the White House from doing so anyway. For his part, Buttigieg is also engaged in a political battle over all of this, since that’s been the top priority all along. He’s been sparring with Sen. Marco Rubio, and appears to be relying on distortions and misleading claims to make it seem as though he’s been a great champion for rail safety — only to be thwarted by the evil Big Train lobby and their Republican enablers:

“The facts don’t lie,” Buttigieg asserts, to his usual chorus of clapping-seal applause from online liberals. But political actors do lie. Note the sleight of hand allegedly at play here:

Chemical Expert Identifies What Officials Are Wrong about in East Palestine (VIDEO)

Following the derailment of a train carrying hazardous chemicals earlier this month, residents were temporarily evacuated so a controlled burn could take place. But according to one chemical expert who traveled to the beleaguered town to conduct an independent analysis of the soil, air, and water, that’s a “lie.”

“It wasn’t a controlled burn. It was an uncontrolled burn,” independent environmental scientist and chemical spill expert Stephen Petty said. “In hazardous waste situations, they very carefully control the temperature and the amount of oxygen so they get complete combustion…so it’s not a controlled burn because a controlled burn would have to be like in a furnace or in your car or in some system where you control the fuel… the vinyl chloride and the amount of oxygen. So they didn’t do that.”

He said one of the ways to determine whether there’s been exposure is whether there’s an odor. Many residents reported noxious smells, which they said caused headaches and other problems like nausea, rashes, burning eyes, and more.

Thousands of fish and other wildlife also died in the days following the burn. (Read more from “Chemical Expert Identifies What Officials Are Wrong about in East Palestine” HERE)
