Portland’s Woke ‘Tree’ Lighting Ceremony Sparks Outrage: ‘They Can’t Even Say Christmas Tree’

Portland has sparked outrage after stripping its Christmas tree of its name, referring to it only as “the tree” during its lighting ceremony.

As thousands gathered in Pioneer Courthouse Square for the Oregon city’s 41st annual tree-lighting on Friday night, leaders and speakers avoided mentioning “Christmas” at any point — including in the ceremony itself and the event’s ads.

The festive occasion was kicked off with a woman from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs thanking everyone in the crowd for coming out on Native American Heritage Day.

She introduced two younger members of the tribe, who referred to the celebration only as “the tree lighting,” before handing the microphone to another featured speaker.

Draped in a Palestinian flag, the woman used her stage time to lead the crowd in a “Free Palestine” chant.

“This is the perfect time to bring this up. There are a lot of genocides going on,” she said only moments into the tree-lighting ceremony. (Read more from “Portland’s Woke ‘Tree’ Lighting Ceremony Sparks Outrage: ‘They Can’t Even Say Christmas Tree’” HERE)

Portland Tells Voters ‘Nothing To See Here’ as Ballots Literally Go up in Flames

Two ballot drop boxes near Portland, Oregon, caught fire overnight. But the county elections director insists officials will “ensure your ballot is safe.”

“We have multiple systems and security measures in place to ensure your ballot is safe,’’ said Multnomah County Elections Director Tim Scott in a press release.

While left-wing officials and groups constantly insist mail-in voting and drop boxes are “safe and secure,” incidents like this show that gaps in the chain of custody pose a higher risk to one’s vote. In two recent Portland-area cases, drop boxes and ballots literally went up in flames.

The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) responded to a drop box fire on SE Belmont Street around 3:30 a.m. on Monday and found someone had set off an “incendiary device” inside, according to the release. The elections division claimed a “fire suppressant” had “protected virtually all the ballots,” and that the fire had “only” damaged three ballots.

The elections division will “contact those three voters” whose ballots burned to offer replacements, according to the release. Anyone who submitted a ballot at the targeted drop box from 3:30 p.m. Saturday to 3 a.m. Monday should contact the elections office with concerns.

Homeless People Terrorizing Portland Homeowners with Thefts, Massive Fires (VIDEO)

Homeless people are occupying a vacant home in Portland, Oregon, causing frequent fires and stealing from neighboring properties, according to Fox 12 Oregon.

Jacob and Beth Adams, two longtime Portland residents, complained of homeless people starting frequent and sometimes massive fires which make their way to the couple’s property, according to Fox 12. Portland’s homeless population has grown 50% since 2019, and about 6,000 homeless people live in the city, according to Fox News.

“There are fires that have been happening off and on. Major ones. This recent one actually came and set our property on fire,” Jacob Adams told Fox 12, adding that the fires have been going on for five years. “Within 12 hours of that fire, another fire popped up. My wife was screaming, and propane tanks were igniting off from the fire.”

The couple reported multiple thefts of their property along with drug use and fights in the abandoned house next to theirs, which has been covered with graffiti and has broken windows, missing walls and a hole in the roof. They had to buy fire extinguishers to handle the frequent fires.

‘They Are Loving Us to Death’: Homeless Say Portland’s Policies Make It Too Easy to Live on the Street, Fail to Empower

A recent video of a homeless woman living on the streets of Portland declaring that the city’s policies have failed to empower the homeless population went viral on Twitter, KATU reported.

Kevin Dahlgren, who does homeless outreach for the nonprofit We Heart Portland, posted a candid interview on social media featuring a woman named Wendy, who has been living in a tent on the streets.

When asked what it is like to be homeless in Portland, Wendy tells Dahlgren that “it’s a piece of cake.”

“I mean, that’s why you probably got so many out here because they feed you three meals a day,” Wendy told Dahlgren. “You don’t have to do s*** but stay in your tent or party. Or, if you smoke a lot of dope, you can do that.”

Police Try to Fend off Angry Mob by Disclosing the Man They Shot Is White

The Portland Police Bureau tried to fend off an angry mob of rioters on Thursday by disclosing that a man shot in an officer confrontation was white.

“There is erroneous information being circulated on social media regarding in the officer involved shooting in the Lloyd district. We can confirm that the subject involved is an adult white male. No one else was injured,” Portland Police tweeted on Thursday night.

Chief of Police Chuck Lovell said that “preliminary information suggests officer encountered a very difficult and dynamic situation that no officer wants to face,” but that did not stop a crowd of protestors from forming at the scene shortly after the man who was shot was taken to the hospital.

Entire Portland Police Rapid Response Team Resigns

Members of a specialized Portland, Oregon, police unit that deals with crowd control have resigned from the assignment en masse a day after a fellow officer was indicted on an assault charge stemming from alleged illegal use of force during a protest last year.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Rapid Response Team, which is primarily responsible for providing public safety at crowd events, consisted of approximately 50 officers, all of whom resigned Wednesday, the bureau announced. The assignment is voluntary and the officers will remain on the force and continue their regular assignments, the bureau said.

The mass resignation comes a day after a grand jury indicted Portland Police Bureau Officer Corey Budworth on one count of fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor, for what prosecutors allege was an “excessive and unlawful use of force” during a protest in August 2020.

Budworth, who at the time was on the bureau’s Rapid Response Team, is accused of striking a woman in the head with a baton during an Aug. 18, 2020, demonstration outside the Multnomah Building. The indictment marks the first time a Portland police officer has faced prosecution for striking or firing at someone during a protest, according to the Oregonian. With Trump Out of Office, Prosecutors Finally Crack Down on Antifa in Portland (VIDEO)

More than two dozen suspected Antifa rioters have been charged in Portland in the past two weeks, signaling an escalation by both local and federal prosecutors following a full year of riots in the besieged Oregon city.

On Thursday, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office announced charges against 10 suspects following several grand jury indictments.

Maximilian Ryan Jennings, 23, James Walker Prettyman, 25, and Thomas Moll-Rocek, 34, are charged with one count each of felony riot, felony first-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal mischief.

The three were indicted over accusations they were part of a black-clad mob that broke most of the windows on the Multnomah County Democrats’ headquarters on Nov. 8, 2020. At the time, Antifa accounts on social media promoted the “direct action” to oppose the presidential election.
