Attempt to Create “Black Autonomous Zone” in Washington D.C.; Police Take Back ‘CHOP’ After Shootings

By Fox News. Seattle will move to end the police-free zone known as the “Capitol Hill Organized Protest,” or “CHOP,” after two recent shootings, one of which was deadly, Mayor Jenny Durkan announced Monday — signaling that a stunning chapter in the city’s history could be drawing to a close.

The mayor said the violence was distracting from changes sought by thousands of peaceful protesters seeking to address racial inequity and police brutality. Activists set up “CHOP” in the city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood about two weeks ago, barricading off the area after police evacuated a ransacked precinct building there.

“The cumulative impacts of the gatherings and protests and the nighttime atmosphere and violence has led to increasingly difficult circumstances for our businesses and residents,” Durkan said at a news conference. “The impacts have increased and the safety has decreased.”

City leaders have faced mounting criticism — including from President Trump — over the protest zone amid reports of violence inside the area and how police can respond to such incidents. Police had not been able to go inside the zone. The dismantling of the CHOP followed the death of a 19-year-old man in a Saturday shooting in which another person was injured.

On Sunday, a 17-year-old was shot in the arm on the edge of the area. (Read more from “WATCH: Police Will Take Back ‘CHOP’ After Shootings” HERE)

Chaos Erupts Between Police and Rioters Trying to Topple Statue and Create ‘Black House Autonomous Zone’

By The Blaze. Social media videos showed violent clashes between police and demonstrators trying to erect a “Black House Autonomous Zone” and topple the statue of former U.S. President Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Square on Monday.

The riots are just the latest in a series of protests, some of which turned violent, in the wake of the May 25 killing of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis police.

Protesters were attaching ropes and chains to the statue to force it down when Metropolitan Police and U.S. Park Police rode in and formed a protective barrier around the statue.

WATCH: George Washington Statue Destroyed by Rioters; General Grant, Francis Scott Key, Others Torn Down Across U.S., Too

By New York Post. Protesters in Portland, Oregon, wrapped a statue of George Washington in an American flag, lit it on fire — then pulled it down Thursday night, according to a report.

The demonstrators toppled the towering bronze sculpture of the first US president — who owned slaves in the 1700s — during a protest on the eve of Juneteeth, a holiday celebrating the abolition of slavery, over the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, according to CBS affiliate KOIN-TV.

After the founding father’s statue came crashing down, vandals defaced it with graffiti, then left it face-down in Rose City Park before fleeing around 11 p.m., the station reported.

They spray-painted the words “F–K COPS” and “BIG FLOYD” on the statue’s base, according to footage posted on Twitter.

Portland police arrived later but it wasn’t immediately clear if any arrests were made, according to the station. (Read more from “George Washington Statue Destroyed by Rioters” HERE)

Washington Statue Isn’t the Only One Torn Down this Week

By Marty Johnson Protesters in San Francisco on Friday toppled the statue of former President Grant, who led the Union Army during the Civil War, in Golden Gate Park.

San Francisco police said that approximately 400 people gathered around 8 p.m. to take down the statue, though no arrests were made, according to NBC Bay Area.

Also torn down in the park on Friday were the statues of St. Junipero Serra and Francis Scott Key, who wrote the lyrics to “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Must-See Video: Lone Conservative Prevent Antifa Mob From Torching Democrat Mayor’s House; Community Leaders Quit Over Response to Violence, Riots

By WND. A local conservative who ran against his city’s progressive mayor in last year’s primary, nevertheless, came to her defense when agitated Antifa vandals claiming to support black people mobilized outside her home, with one wielding a torch.

David Ross, who hosts “The David Ross Show” podcast, captured on video his confrontation last Friday night in Olympia, Washington, with militants in front of Mayor Cheryl Selby’s house chanting “Abolish the police.”

The irony, as WND reported, was that Selby was seen on video at a Black Lives Matter protest June 1 drawing cheers from a crowd as she kneeled before black-clad activists in the state’s capital city.

But 12 days later, about 50 “black-clad protesters,” according to The Olympian newspaper’s description, smashed windows, burned flags and spray-painted businesses downtown then moved the mayhem to her front lawn.

Community Leaders Quit Over Response to Violence, Riots

By Fox 59. The eight-member leadership of the southeast side CDRC submitted a mass resignation letter over the past weekend, frustrated, they said, by what is perceived to be Hogsett’s failing anti-violence initiatives and the mayor’s response to two nights of looting, riots and arson that rocked downtown Indianapolis following peaceful protests against racial injustice and in favor of criminal justice reform during the last weekend in May.

“I think you start seeing things that are detrimental to the community but no one seems to want to hear what you have to say because they’re too busy working on political agendas,” said CDRC Co-Chair Dr. Chris Holland. “You don’t feel like your voice isn’t heard if you’re not saying the right thing.”

Indianapolis’ 2020 homicide totals have reached 100, weeks before a similar milestone was reached a year ago when the city was also on a record-setting pace during the final year of Hogsett’s first term after he campaigned be the city’s “Public Safety Mayor.”

“You see the violent numbers continue to climb and nobody says anything,” said Dr. Holland. “You see the city burned, looted, riots, I’m not talking about peaceful protest, you’ve been down there, I’ve been down there, you see the damage, people have been killed during that and nobody even wants to walk through the damage to look at that. To me that says, ‘I’ve either checked out some way or I don’t care.’ (Read more from “Community Leaders Quit Over Response to Violence, Riots” HERE)

Seattle Residents Terrified After CHOP Cuts Them Off from Basic Protection

In our last dispatch on the CHOP occupying Seattle’s Capitol Hill, we learned that police and the fire department do not respond to calls from Americans inside the zone (who did not elect the junta in charge, as there never was a vote). This is not to blame police or fire for not responding. They’re under orders from Mayor Jenny Durkan, over the objections of her own top cop, Police Chief Carmen Best. . .

Criminals. Citizens who did not vote in the autonomous collective now feel exposed, like “sitting ducks.”

“We are just sitting ducks all day,” Matthew Ploszaj told Seattle-based KIRO 7. “Now every criminal in the city knows they can come into this area, and they can do anything they want, as long as it isn’t life-threatening. And the police won’t come in to do anything about it.”

Ploszaj said he called 911 after witnessing a burglar break into his courtyard and steal a bike, the outlet reported. Then he said the dispatcher told him there was “nothing we can do” unless someone’s life is in danger.

. . .CHOP has swiftly become a one-party state where political dissent is not only not seen as patriotic, it’s bullied away. Whatever CHOP is, it’s certainly not the “summer of love” Mayor Durkan claims. (Read more from “Seattle Residents Terrified After CHOP Cuts Them Off from Basic Protection” HERE)

Teenager Raises $160,000 for Black-Owned Businesses Hurt During Protests

17-year-old Atlanta teen CJ Pearson offered a $10,000 check to the owners of Wilbourn Sisters Designs on Thursday — one of many businesses he is helping to save.

WSB-TV Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway spoke to 17-year-old CJ Pearson, who raised a whopping $160,000 for black-owned businesses harmed or destroyed by the ongoing protests. The demonstrations were sparked by the alleged murder of George Floyd by Officer Derek Chauvin of the Minneapolis Police Department. . .

Pearson supports the “Black Lives Matter” movement — which highlights the disproportionate violence against black Americans perpetrated by law enforcement — but believes there is a better way to express solidarity with victims than violence, looting, or hashtags.

The Media Are Lying To You About Everything, Including The Riots; NYPD Releases Video of Cops Being Assaulted During George Floyd Riots; Tucker Takes You Inside America’s Newest Neighbor: CHOP

By The Federalist. It seems no great event or upheaval in our national life can pass now without the media lying to our faces about it.

They lied about the Trump campaign colluding with Russia in 2016. They lied about the Mueller probe and Brett Kavanaugh and former national security adviser Mike Flynn. They lied about Trump’s phone call with the Ukrainian president and the impeachment farce that ensued. They lied about the coronavirus and the lockdowns and the White House response. And now they’re lying about the riots.

In recent days we’ve heard a steady drumbeat of lies, distortions, and disingenuousness from the mainstream media about almost every aspect of the unrest now gripping American cities. The deceit is almost too pervasive and amorphous to describe, but I’m going to try anyway.

Over the weekend we were told, for example, that the looting and violence was being instigated not by left-wing anarchists and antifa groups but by the media’s favorite villains: white supremacists. CNN, whose Atlanta offices were vandalized Friday, went on and on—without a shred of evidence to back it up—about how white supremacists might be infiltrating the protests and stirring up trouble. The New York Times, in a report that even quoted a senior police official in New York City saying outside anarchist groups were coordinating mayhem before the protests began, nevertheless veered into a long aside about how far-right “accelerationists” were hoping the unrest would bring about a long-sought second civil war.

By Monday, no one was talking about the white supremacist agitators anymore. The media had moved on to better, more plausible lies. (Read more from “The Media Are Lying To You About Everything, Including The Riots” HERE)

NYPD Releases Video of Cops Being Assaulted During George Floyd Riots

By New York Post. The NYPD’s chief of detectives, Rodney Harrison, released a video Wednesday of several assaults on officers during the recent unrest in the city amid protests over the death of George Floyd.

The clip, which Harrison tweeted, shows at least five instances of officers being attacked during the mayhem.

Two cops could be seen in separate incidents getting hit from behind by unknown objects.

Two more officers were struck by flying objects, including an orange traffic cone.

Social Distancing Double Standards on Protests Betray Sound Health Policy

Sound public health policy is sound public health policy, regardless of the political moment.

The effectiveness of a public health measure is contingent on the cooperation of the public, and the cooperation of the public is contingent on the public’s trust.

As such, it’s catastrophically destructive to the goals of public health to support participation in the mass protests following the killing of George Floyd.

Supporting the protests, or the message of the protests, is a personal decision, which every individual must make for himself or herself, but if the COVID-19 pandemic continues apace, the mitigation efforts remain as relevant now as they did before people took to the streets by the thousands.

Inconsistent responses based on the content of one protest versus another only shakes the public trust that is critical in time of pandemic.

To make a public stand on a matter, staked upon the expertise of medicine and public health, is to tie that expertise to ideological movements rather than professional knowledge.

That’s to say nothing of the rioting and the looting. If social determinants of health are a factor in public health, it’s plainly obvious that burning down the community and smashing its windows will lift no one out of poverty and only make it harder for that community to prosper.

And it’s not only the economy that suffers. When rioting forces the suspension of public transportation and the closure of some pharmacies, who will be able to get their prescriptions filled? Certainly not the impoverished.

But never mind that.

Earlier this month, an open letter that was “signed by 1,288 public health professionals, infectious-diseases professionals, and community stakeholders” voiced support for “demonstrations against systemic injustice occurring during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

On its face, it’s reasonable—laudable even—to protest injustice and racism, but the letter quickly pivots to blaming health disparities on “long-standing systems of oppression and bias” that are “yet another lethal manifestation of white supremacy.”

That is the language of progressive sociology, not of medicine.

It seems less than certain that medicine necessarily manifests as white supremacy, considering that whites make up 76.5% of the population but only 56.2% of active physicians.

It is possible, likely even, that the remnants of America’s explicitly racist system in the past persist to this day, and our society should continue to fight racism wherever it is found, but the solution for racism cannot be measured in milligrams or formulated into tablets or pills.

While there’s no medical intervention for racism, there is clinical guidance on preventing disease transmission. Washing hands, wearing masks, and physical distancing are—or were—important measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.

It would be easier to take these guidelines seriously if health care workers treated all protests with the same sensitivity. That is to say, we should be taking these measures seriously, and we need to be clear and consistent about their implementation and use.

Instead, numerous grim-faced nurses, doctors, and other health care providers stood cross-armed in opposition to Americans protesting the lockdowns that prevented them from going to work. That was followed soon thereafter by health care workers applauding protesters marching shoulder-to-shoulder in New York City.

The open letter encourages marchers, “to the extent possible,” to follow “public health best practices,” further explaining that they “do not condemn these gatherings as risky for COVID-19 transmission.”

Protests against stay-at-home orders, however, “not only oppose public health interventions, but are also rooted in white nationalism … .”

At no point in medical training are future doctors taught to identify which protest is an infection risk and which is not. A protest, a march, a rally, or large gathering of any kind all present their own public health risks in times of pandemic, regardless of the speech therein.

By choosing which protest is “right” and “just,” and which protest is traitorous and infectious, these health personnel are tying public health interventions to their ideology, which will make it that much more difficult, if not impossible, to obtain a broad, nonpartisan consensus of the public to heed public health measures.

Americans were scolded, chastised, and even arrested for trying to earn a living. Numerous other businesses complied with the rules and are now shuttered for good.

Strict social distancing rules prevented Americans from visiting their hospitalized loved ones and forced them apart as family members lay dying. And when those family members died, their funerals were to be limited to 10 mourners or fewer.

Those restrictions were generally accepted as harsh—in some cases, unbearably painful—measures that would help public health efforts and benefit society as a whole. Those who didn’t comply were labeled traitors to the front-line health care workers and first responders in the COVID-19 response.

But when we see white coats applauding thousands of marchers in the streets and public funeral services attended by hundreds of public figures, all while we’re told to starve with our families or to die alone, who is betraying whom?

Did you, the 1,288 signatories to this letter, the governors and mayors, the public health experts, and doctors and nurses, ever mean a single word you said?

Some of us have been sincere from the start. Some of us asked Americans in earnest to make the most dreadful sacrifices to stem the pandemic spread. Some of us wanted to place more trust in all Americans to assess their own risks, not only in our ideological compatriots.

Now, all of us, when asking the public for their cooperation, will be met not with understanding and acceptance but with mistrust. (For more from the author of “Social Distancing Double Standards on Protests Betray Sound Health Policy” please click HERE)

Welcome to Your New World Order: A Rundown of Woke Insanity Amid the Newest Cultural Revolution; How Seattle Autonomous Zone Is Dangerously Defining Leadership

By The Federalist. America is in the midst of a new cultural civil war that for years has been brewing under the surface as left-wing academics breed aggressively woke children now permeating throughout the nation’s mainstream institutions.

Since the killing of George Floyd at the knees of a Minneapolis police officer sparked the worst outbreak of civil unrest in decades, protests that grew out of demanding justice for Floyd morphed into a dark operation to fundamentally transform the nation’s psyche, convincing the people of their own inherent evil from ancestral wrongs.

Battle lines are clearly being drawn, where the radical left has offered Americans a binary choice in a false dichotomy between total submission or unrelenting exile with those opposed to the new woke world order cast out of society as unrepentant racists refusing to atone for past generations’ sins. No justice, no peace. Silence is violence. You’re either with us, or against us. There is no middle ground. Which side of history are you on?

Of course in reality, (and sanity), it’s clearly not that black and white, but if recent events show us anything, they expose that this mentality is no longer one of a fringe left-wing movement but a central tenant of our mainstream culture of what it means to make “progress.” America, according to the now only acceptable narrative, is an irredeemably racist society that was built for the sole purpose to oppress. It has never been great. Anyone who thinks otherwise, is as guilty as the slaveholders who lived more than 150 years ago. Washington State Woman Arrested, Accused of Setting 5 Police Vehicles Ablaze in George Floyd Riots

By Fox News. A 25-year-old Tacoma woman was arrested Thursday for allegedly lighting five unmarked Seattle police vehicles on fire during riots at the end of last month.

Margaret Aislinn Channon faces federal arson charges in connection with the incident, according to U.S. Attorney Brian Moran.

“This defendant was captured by multiple cameras using an accelerant, lit like a blowtorch, to start fires in five vehicles,” Moran said in a statement.

The alleged arsons happened on May 30 around the area of Sixth Avenue and Pine Street in downtown Seattle. Local police abandoned the nearby East Precinct building, at 12th Avenue and Pine Street, earlier this week following violent protests that followed the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25. Demonstrators have moved in to the surrounding neighborhood and declared it a “cop-free” area that they call the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone.” (Read more from “Washington State Woman Arrested, Accused of Setting 5 Police Vehicles Ablaze in George Floyd Riots” HERE)

How Seattle Autonomous Zone Is Dangerously Defining Leadership

By The Hill. In Seattle, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, better known as Chaz, seeks to create a communal experiment in governing free of cops. With raucous meetings in the Seattle People Department, formerly known as the Seattle Police Department in the East Precinct, Chaz is a work in progress covered in graffiti. Beyond its barricaded border, however, Chaz is already defining governance. In Seattle, Mayor Jenny Durkan is dismissing the concept for leadership. In Washington, President Trump is claiming authority he does not have to retake the district. It is a tale of two very different cities, with one official abdicating her authority and the other exaggerating his.

Officials struggled to ignore that people have taken control of one police precinct and six blocks of the largest city in Washington state. Governor Jay Inslee was ridiculed for denying he was aware of the takeover, which has been the focus of every major network and newspaper for days now. As Inslee struggled with denial, Durkan swiftly moved to acceptance. . .

In a way, that is the greatest achievement of the anarchist movement. The government seems to have melted away, not just in Chaz but all of Seattle. The support from Durkan for their “desire to build a better world” ignores that she was elected to govern the entire city of Seattle. Withdrawing the police and giving in to mob control of even one small area is antithetical to the most basic concepts of governance. Indeed, unwilling citizens of Chaz could sue over that decision to surrender control of their precinct. The city could also be sued for damages caused by abandonment.

The irony is that Durkan and the city can be protected by the very thing the denizens of Chaz, and Democratic leaders, have called to eliminate, which is immunity. Police have won lawsuits over the failure to prevent injuries or respond to calls as the discretionary decisions left for a city. Some of those cases turned on the “public duty doctrine” that shields governments from liability when it refuses to act to enforce laws. American Pride Reaches Record Low

Only 63 percent of U.S. adults reported being either “very proud” or “extremely proud” to be an American according to a new Gallup poll released Monday, marking a new low point in American pride since the pollster began surveying the question in 2001.

Monday’s figures show a sharp seven point decline since last year where only 70 percent said they were either “very proud” or “extremely proud” of their American heritage, the largest single year decrease recorded.

This year, 15 percent said they were “moderately proud,” 12 percent claimed they were “only a little proud,” and 9 percent reported being “not at all proud.”

According to Gallup, patriotic pride among white adults dropped below 50 percent for the first time, where 49 percent said they were extremely proud to be American compared to just 24 percent of nonwhite people. (Read more from “American Pride Reaches Record Low” HERE)

Seattle’s Autonomous Zone: Retry All Non-White Violent Convicts With Non-White Jurors

Seattle, Washington’s, Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) is demanding all non-white violent convicted criminals in prison be released and retried in court by non-white jurors only.

CHAZ, formed by anarchists, Antifa members, and Black Lives Matter activists, has released a list of demands that seeks to defund the Seattle Police Department and use the money to retry non-white convicts, provide unrestricted voting rights to inmates, and expunge the records of convicted marijuana traffickers.

“We demand a retrial of all People in Color currently serving a prison sentence for violent crime, by a jury of their peers in their community,” CHAZ organizers write.

Such a policy would mean that all non-white violent convicted criminals have their existing convictions and sentences expunged and be given new trials with non-white only jurors. (Read more from “Seattle’s Autonomous Zone: Retry All Non-White Violent Convicts With Non-White Jurors” HERE)
