‘So Excited’: Emails Show Local Librarians Recruiting Drag Performers for Kids

Emails from librarians who brought cross-dressing performers to Republican-leaning Saint Louis suburbs this summer illustrate how easy it is for a few public employees to hijack tax-funded resources to promote sexual behaviors to children.

Emails obtained by The Federalist show just a few local librarians in Collinsville and Glen Carbon, Illinois, working with other librarians to use their public positions to promote personal causes. The Collinsville and Glen Carbon Centennial public libraries this summer featured “drag queen storytime” events on June 3, 7, and 21 to promote homosexual “Pride Month.”

National surveys show the profession is overwhelmingly white and female — 87 and 81 percent, respectively, in a 2014 American Library Association (ALA) survey. That’s the same demographic becoming Democrats’ most significant voting bloc and often the most likely to push identity politics, often for personal psychological reasons.

While the ALA recently urged librarians whose communities don’t want public institutions to push sexual information on kids to “sneak” LGBT materials in, these librarians wanted to go further. They wanted more than a Pride Month display that merely puts sex books at toddlers’ eye level. They wanted drag shows for kids. . .

The obtained emails indicate professional librarians’ networks enthusiastically assisted with creating and promoting these events. February 2022 emails The Federalist obtained through an open-records request in June show Glen Carbon youth librarian Aimee Villet asking Saint Louis librarians to recommend drag performers to hire: “[W]ould love to offer a Drag Queen storytime at our library,” Villet wrote. Nobel Prize-Winning Biologist: Trans Movement’s ‘Unscientific’ Claims Are ‘Madness’ — Taking Hormones Is ‘Inherently Dangerous’

Dr. Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard, director emeritus at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology, won a Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1995. As a biologist, she has long studied DNA, biochemistry, and embryonic development. On August 22, Emma, Germany’s leading feminist magazine, published Chantal Louis’ interview with Nüsslein-Volhard, in which the biologist both attacked core claims advanced by trans activists and criticized their anti-scientific basis.

Suggesting that an ignorance of basic biology may be to blame for the “unscientific” claim that there are many genders, Nüsslein-Volhard noted (in German; the following is a Google translation) that “all mammals have two sexes. There’s the one sex that produces the eggs [and] has two X chromosomes. That’s called female. And there’s the other one that makes the sperm [and] has an X and a Y chromosome. That’s called male.”

After revisiting what she regarded as biological basics, Nüsslein-Volhard noted that the existence of hermaphrodites doesn’t complicate matters or blur the lines between the sexes. “The fact that there are hermaphrodites does not change the fact that there are two germ cells, eggs and sperm, and therefore two sexes.”

Just as “intersex” people (i.e., those with complete or partial sets of both male and female sexual organs) are not constituents or representatives of a third gender, Nüsslein-Volhard suggests that expressions of femininity in men or masculinity in women are not indicative of blurred lines but rather of varying hormonal levels and cultural influences.

The attempt to remedy the feeling of disconnect between one’s sex and perceived gender — or that the two can be separated — Nüsslein-Volhard regards as “wishful thinking.” She noted, “There are people who want to change their gender, but they can’t do it. Ten-Year-Old ‘Trans Model’ With Trans Mother to Undergo Surgery at Sixteen

A ten-year-old child, the world’s youngest transgender model, lives with [his] transgender mother and [his] mother’s trans partner and is set to undergo surgery at age 16.

Noella McMaher has recently garnered attention for modeling at the New York Fashion Week. The boy reportedly told his parents that he was a girl at age two.

He then began socially transitioning and presenting himself as a girl at just four years old. His name was legally changed when he was seven.

Noella’s mom used feminine pronouns in reference to her son and remarked, “She would refuse to wear boy clothes and have tantrums because she was so young. She knew what she wanted, but didn’t have the words to say it … I should have known earlier, as she hated anything masculine, so I brought her to a gender clinic.”

Recorded Phone Call and Archived Webpage Suggest That Children’s National Hospital in DC Offered ‘Gender-Affirming’ Hysterectomies to Children, Some Even Younger Than 16

An archived webpage and a call with hospital staff suggest that Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C. provided hysterectomies to children as a “gender-affirming” procedure.

Fox News Digital reported that an archived webpage from August 18 listed “gender-affirming medical care and gender-affirming hysterectomy” as a service provided to patients “between the ages of 0-21.” Since at least June 2021, the webpage has listed the offering, but the hospital recently removed it.

When the news organization reached out to the D.C. hospital, a spokesperson stated that Children’s National Hospital does not provide gender reassignment surgery to children. They said that the previous webpage version that listed the service was a “flaw in the design of our website.”

The Twitter account Libs of TikTok first broke the story. The founder of the social media account, Chaya Raichik, posted an audio recording of a phone call with hospital staff confirming that they would be willing to perform a hysterectomy on a 16-year-old girl.

Boston Children’s Hospital’s Transgender Insanity Reveals How Unhinged Elites Make Money off Our Kids

Recent events at Boston Children’s Hospital reveal the yawning gulf between the values of ordinary American parents and the decadent beliefs of a venal and increasingly unhinged elite.

When activist “Billboard” Chris Elston broke the story of videos promoting “gender affirmation” for kids as young as 2 at the hospital, the outcry was immediate and immense. The progressive press has retaliated by calling this “right-wing harassment,” and of course any actual threats should be condemned.

But frankly, outrage is the right response to medics promoting the idea that kids young enough to be in diapers have a clear enough sense of their own identity to justify far-reaching changes such as “social transition,” in which everyone around a child agrees to pretend he or she is the opposite sex. A hospital psychologist even insisted in one video that “a good portion of children do know as early as from the womb.”

So when the US Justice Department came out in defense of the hospital last week, normal parents might be forgiven for thinking America’s rulers have taken leave of their senses. But what’s afoot isn’t insanity so much as a government-approved gold-rush. The “resource” these speculators are fighting over? The healthy bodies of American children.

Data show that “socially transitioned” children are far more likely to go on to medical interventions. And perhaps this is the point: After all, transgender is big business. Gender-transition surgery can cost upward of $100,000. The US gender-surgery market was valued in 2021 at $1.9 billion, with predicted annual growth of more than 10%. And when hormone therapy costs $1,500 a year, for the rest of a patient’s life, no wonder entrepreneurial medics want kids on the treatment treadmill as young as possible. Clinics are popping up like mushrooms to take advantage of this new business opportunity: The first American pediatric gender clinic opened in 2007, and there are now more than 50 nationwide. Woman Sues Psychiatrist for Approving Gender Transition After Just One Meeting

An Australian woman who transitioned to male, before realizing it was a mistake, is suing a psychiatrist after he approved her female-to-male hormone treatment following a single meeting — and later signed off on two surgeries to remove her breasts and uterus.

Jay Langadinos, now 31, was just 19 when she first met Dr. Patrick Toohey, a veteran Sydney psychiatrist, in May 2010.

The teen was referred to him by her endocrinologist to determine if she was suitable for a gender transition. . .

After his first meeting with the teen, Toohey concluded that Langadinos suffered from gender dysphoria and was fit for testosterone therapy, the document states. . .

American Academy of Pediatrics Ripped for Refusing to Say Surge in Trans Kids Comes From Social Contagion

After a fierce attack was launched on the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) for its apparent refusal to acknowledge that the soaring number of children claiming to be transgender is due to social contagion, the AAP’s president, Moira Szilagyi, issued a weak rebuttal, insisting, “The AAP is committed to following the evidence and basing our recommendations on the best science.”

In an opinion piece in The Wall Street Journal, pediatrician Julia Mason and Manhattan Institute fellow Leor Sapir cited a study in Pediatrics, flagship journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics, which was used to buttress the claim that the surge in transgender identity was not due to social contagion.

Mason and Sapir offered evidence as to why the study, conducted by Dr. Jack Turban and his colleagues, was flawed, later noting, “Pediatrics published his highly flawed 2020 study alleging that puberty blockers reduce suicide in teens. The journal even chose the article as its ‘Best of 2020’ despite receiving rebuttals that pointed out the rate of attempted suicide was twice as high among the puberty-blocked group and Dr. Turban hadn’t controlled for the possibility that better mental-health outcomes might be the result of factors other than hormonal intervention.”

The pair recalled that last year the AAP voted down a resolution to inform the academy’s 67,000 members about the growing global skepticism of pediatric gender transition, claiming only 57 members out of 67,000 had endorsed it and thus it was “soundly defeated,” but the next year, when 53 members backed a resolution that supported affirmative intervention, the AAP permitted it to go through, claiming it had received “broad support.”

Disgusting: Yale Professor Ripped for Helping Toddlers With ‘Gender Journey’

A Yale professor has come under fire over a video in which she describes helping children as young as 3 years old with their “gender journey.”

Dr. Christy Olezeski, who co-founded the Yale Pediatric Gender Program, was filmed saying she helps treat those questioning their gender and also provides guidance on “medical intervention.”

“I am the director of the Yale gender program, which is an interdisciplinary program working with gender-expansive individuals 3 to 25 and their families,” Olezeski said in the clip posted on Yale University’s YouTube page.

“We help individuals who are questioning their gender identity or who identify as transgender or non-binary, and we help them with their gender journey.”

Yes, Doctors Are Performing Sex Change Surgeries on Kids

Several media outlets have downplayed the prevalence of transgender surgeries for minors amid controversy surrounding Boston Children’s Hospital’s gender center, but the hospital’s own publicly available documents show that doctors are performing sex change surgeries on children.

The hospital has performed at least 65 transgender chest surgeries on minors, the vast majority of whom were biologically female and identified as transgender males. The hospital’s guidance allowed vaginoplasty at 17 and did not list an age limit for “gender-affirming” hysterectomies until online activists shared the hospital’s videos promoting the procedures, sparking outrage.

Boston Children’s Hospital performed 204 “gender affirmation” surgeries from 2017 to 2020, including 65 chest surgeries performed on minors, according to data published by the National Institutes of Health. The average chest surgery patient was 18, and the youngest was 15.

Some Schools Won’t Tell Parents When Their Kids Express Gender Confusion. Experts Say That’s Illegal.

Public schools nationwide are telling students they can assume different pronouns, have access to another sex’s bathroom, and change their name without letting their parents know, a violation of federal law legal experts tell the Washington Free Beacon.

Fairfax County Public Schools in Virginia bar teachers from “outing” transgender students to parents, as do Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland. These increasingly common policies are meant to guard students against parents who, according to Fairfax County schools, “may not yet be supportive of their child’s transition.” But according to Vernadette Broyles, they also violate parents’ right to privacy as codified in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974.

“Privacy rights are held by the parents for the child, not by the child against their parents,” Broyles, president and founder of the Child and Parental Rights Campaign, told the Free Beacon. Broyles says Fairfax and Montgomery school officials are “attempting to usurp parental authority,” which is protected by the 14th Amendment. She called the schools’ policies “intentional obfuscation, driving a wedge between children and parents at a time when children need their parents most.” Three other attorneys involved in similar cases cited the same violations of the Constitution and federal law in support of parents’ rights.

The news comes as parents nationwide are filing lawsuits against school districts over the issue. Parents Defending Education, a conservative grassroots group, announced last week it was suing an Iowa school district for refusing to disclose a child’s transgender status without their permission. The district keeps “temporary” files for students’ gender support plans, allowing them to skirt official records requests from parents. Similarly, the Maryland and Virginia school districts instruct their employees to refrain from mentioning a child’s chosen gender identity on school forms or in emails where it could become public.
