The UK’s Labour Party-controlled government has approved plans for China to build a sprawling new embassy complex in central London, despite warnings from lawmakers, security officials, and Chinese dissidents who say the project poses serious national security risks.

British Housing Secretary Steve Reed formally signed off Tuesday on the 600,000-square-foot complex at Royal Mint Court, near the Tower of London and the city’s financial district. The approval comes just days before Prime Minister Keir Starmer is expected to visit China — the first by a British prime minister since 2018 — to boost diplomatic and economic ties with Beijing.

Critics have long warned that the embassy could be used for intelligence gathering or to monitor and intimidate Chinese nationals and dissidents living in the UK.

“Labour’s greenlighting of the Chinese Embassy has gifted the Chinese Communist Party a launchpad for economic warfare in the heart of London,” Alicia Kearns, the shadow minister for national security and safeguarding for the opposition Conservative Party, wrote on X following the decision. “What message does it send to the CPC which has committed cyber attacks, attempted to attack our parliament, and intimidates those who sought refuge here?”

China purchased the site in 2018 for roughly £255 million. The historic property, once used to mint Britain’s currency, faced repeated delays and legal challenges. Local authorities initially rejected the embassy plans in 2022 over safety and security concerns, prompting Beijing to pressure the UK government. UK Allocates £200m to Prepare Troops to Deploy to Ukraine, France Reportedly Ready to Send 6K Soldiers

The British government has announced that it has allocated £200 million to begin preparing the UK Armed Forces for deployment to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping force in the event of an armistice between Kyiv and Moscow.

Following the signing of a declaration of intent by the British and French governments with Ukraine in Paris this week, the Ministry of Defence said on Friday that £200 million has been allocated to help British troops be “ready to deploy if required” to Ukraine.

Additionally, the funds will go toward upgrading military vehicles and communication systems, as well as purchasing new counter-drone protection systems for the British arm of the Multinational Force for Ukraine (MNFU).

The MoD said that the funds demonstrate “a clear signal to allies and adversaries of the UK’s intent to lead the MNFU, fulfil our promises to secure the peace in Ukraine and deliver a ‘new deal’ for European security to make Britain safer.”

UK’s Secret Scheme to Import Thousands of Afghans Was Just Made Public

The elites just realized they can’t push their reset plan openly anymore without some major backlash. So now they’re shifting gears and operating in the shadows. And what’s happening in the UK right now is a perfect example of that quiet, behind-the-scenes tyranny.

It turns out that the UK government set up a secret program to bring in thousands of Afghans, all under the radar and under the guise of some “data breach.” They claim they “accidentally” leaked their personal info in one of the worst data breaches in modern British history. Now, these tens of thousands of folks have to stay in the UK because, “Oh no, they might be in danger from the Taliban, so now we have to fly them all to London.”

Was this just another convenient “oops,” or was the data breach just some excuse to flood the country with even more foreigners? That’s what many think happened, and you can’t blame them. Either way, the result is the same: a shady relocation scheme, approved in the dark, protected by a lawless superinjunction to gag the media and keep British citizens in the dark.

Britain set up a secret scheme to bring thousands of Afghans to the UK after their personal details were disclosed in one of the country’s worst ever data breaches, putting them at risk of reprisals from the Taliban after their return to power.

Concerns that individuals could be targeted by the Taliban led the previous Conservative government to set up the relocation scheme, involving thousands of people and estimated to cost the government about 2 billion pounds ($2.7 billion).

The leak by the Ministry of Defence in early 2022, which led to data being published on Facebook the following year, and the secret relocation programme, were subject to a so-called superinjunction preventing the media reporting what happened, which was lifted on Tuesday by a court.

Top Pediatrician: US Medical Establishment Is ‘Misleading’ the Public About the Science Behind Child Sex Changes

The British medical establishment was long captive to gender ideology. It is now coming to terms with the error of its ways, having realized that the supposed “right side of history” where the trans-activist flag waves proudly is actually the province of pseudoscience, misery, and mutilation.

Dr. Hilary Cass, a British medical doctor who previously served as president of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health, hammered the final nail into the coffin for the “gender-affirming care” narrative in April.

Cass, a highly esteemed recipient of the Order of the British Empire, was appointed by the National Health Service in England in 2020 to lead an independent investigation into Britain’s sex-change regime and its youth facing services. Her 388-page final report — released shortly after England effectively banned the prescription of puberty blockers and shuttered the infamous Tavistock child gender-identity clinic — made abundantly clear that the evidence in support of “gender-affirming care” was “weak” at best.

In addition to highlighting unreliable science and the fallout of sex-change interventions, Cass noted that sex-change procedures did not impact suicide risk or deliver on other promised results and that mutilated children may likely have otherwise outgrown their confusion.

These conclusions sent various radicals into fits of rage. Cass has since become a popular target, even for some leftist lawmakers.

Cass recently expressed amazement that whereas Britain is now pumping the brakes on its mutilatory practices — joining the ranks of other Western nations like Finland and Norway — the American medical establishment is ostensibly speeding along with reckless abandon. Lawmaker: Let Dead People Change Their Gender

A member of the Labour Party in the U.K. Parliament suggested that the law should allow a person’s gender to be changed on their documents after death.

Labour Party MP Charlotte Nichols stated that the Gender Recognition Act of 2004 should be amended to change someone’s gender posthumously.

“My question follows on from a recent petition supported by many of my constituents, regarding amending the Gender Recognition Act,” Nichols told The Telegraph in an interview.

“The genesis of the petition was the murder of my constituent Brianna Ghey, whose life was brutally cut short before she was old enough to have formal legal recognition of who she was and how she will be remembered by her family, friends and our community,” she continued, adding that, “At that time, the Government said they did not believe any reforms were necessary, but it is something I continue to have raised with me by my constituents and will continue to raise with the Government accordingly so that this can be an option available to bereaved families should they so wish.” (Read more from “Lawmaker: Let Dead People Change Their Gender” HERE)

Judges Deny Parents’ Plea to Take Ailing Daughter to Italy for Treatment

A panel of judges in the United Kingdom denied an appeal from parents to take their daughter, who suffers from a rare disease, to Italy for treatment.

The judges said that Italy’s desire to take 8-month-old Indi Gregory in for treatment under Hague Convention rules was “wholly misconceived” and “not in the spirit of the convention.” Italy has granted the infant citizenship and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has reached out to the U.K.’s Lord Chancellor to coordinate travel to bring the young child to Italy.

The parents of Indi, supported by the Christian Legal Centre, have sought to leave the U.K. to find treatment for a rare mitochondrial disease their daughter has. Judges with the Court of Appeal denied their requests, upholding a previous ruling from Justice Robert Peel that Indi must be taken off life support.

“Claire and I are again disgusted by another one-sided decision from the judges and the Trust. The whole world is watching and is shocked at how we have been treated,” Dean Gregory, Indi’s father, said.

“Claire and I have always wanted what is in Indi’s best interests. She has human rights and we wanted her to have the best treatment possible. If the UK did not want to fund it, why can she not go to Italy and receive the treatment and care which the amazing Italian Prime Minister and government has offered,” he added. Woke Insanity: UK Fire Chief Bans Use of ‘Fireman’ and ‘Firemen’ as ‘Sexist’

A UK fire chief has been accused of “wokeism gone mad” after banning the terms “fireman” and “firemen” — calling them “sexist, exclusionary” and a “micro-aggression that is damaging to our culture.”

Dave Russel, the chief fire officer for Greater Manchester, said in an email obtained by the Bolton News that the terms used in “everyday vocabulary” will “not be tolerated.”

“We employ firefighters, not ‘firemen,’ and haven’t for decades, so why use the term?” he wrote, with the Telegraph saying it applied to the singular term, too.

“Its connotation is sexist, exclusionary, and represents a form of micro-aggression that is damaging to our culture.

Meltdown: UK’s Government-Run Healthcare Service Faltering Under Crisis Conditions

[Britain’s] state-funded service is falling apart. People who suffer heart attacks or strokes wait more than 1½ hours on average for an ambulance. Hospitals are so full they are turning patients away. A record 7.1 million people in England—more than one in 10 people—are stuck on waiting lists for nonemergency hospital treatment like hip replacements. The NHS on Monday faced the biggest strike in its history, with thousands of paramedics and nurses walking out over pay. The NHS’s woes are an extreme example of issues playing out across the developed world. Healthcare systems, hit hard by Covid, are under pressure as people live longer and have a wider range of treatment options. Aging populations mean costs will keep growing. The U.K.’s experience is a warning of what happens when supply in healthcare provision can’t keep up with demand.

The NHS has lost thousands of hospital beds in the past decade in its drive for efficiency. Covid delayed treatments for patients, resulting in a vast waiting list. Hospitals in England were already at 98% capacity in December when the brutal flu season began to take hold. The mass of sick patients gummed up the system to devastating effect. Delays in treating people are causing the premature deaths of 300 to 500 people a week, according to estimates from the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, a professional association in London. One in five British people were waiting for a medical appointment or treatment by the NHS in December, according to the U.K. Office for National Statistics (ONS)…Fixing the service will take time, said NHS chief executive Amanda Pritchard. The NHS said that over the next year it aims to cut the average time a heart attack sufferer waits for an ambulance to 30 minutes.

The targeted, aspirational improvement would be an ambulance waiting time of half an hour for someone having a heart attack. An estimated 300-500 excess/premature deaths per week under the foundering NHS, which the Brits treat as something of a national religion. British Cycling Bans All Transgender Athletes Following Controversy

The British Cycling Board of Directors voted in favor of suspending its transgender athlete policy, which previously gave an option for biological male transgender athletes to compete against women. This move comes after biological male cyclist “Emily” Bridges was barred from competing in a women’s race last weekend.

As Townhall covered, Bridges, 21, was cut from competing in the women’s British National Omnium Championship on Saturday. Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the governing body of the sport, told British Cycling that Bridges was not eligible to participate. Reportedly, Bridges had also begun hormone therapy treatment last year.

A report from BBC noted that there were discussions among female athletes to boycott the race to protest Bridges’ involvement.

After the race, Bridges issued a statement saying “I have provided both British Cycling and the UCI with medical evidence that I meet the eligibility criteria for transgender female cyclists, including that my testosterone limit has been far below the limit prescribed by the regulations for the last 12 months.”

On Friday, British Cycling issued a statement that the organization would suspend transgender athletes from competing for time being.

The former “Atomic Kitten” singer and 40-year-old mother of five reportedly told Closer Magazine on Sunday that her children don’t mind her “showing off” her body online for money. Her 13-year-old daughter, Heidi, even takes some of the pictures for her.

“Mums have as much right to show off their bodies as anyone else. I can do what I like with my body, as it belongs to me,” she told the tabloid. “My children know I do it and Heidi even takes some of the pictures of me for the site.”

Despite admitting she does worry her kids may get some “grief” for her decision to showcase explicit images of herself online, she justifies the move by arguing they would face the same pressure no matter what she decided to do with her life.
