The group, called Cage, has tapped into grassroots support, raising more than £18,000 [almost $30,000] in the past few days through an online appeal after its bank accounts were closed and its main charity backers were forced to stop funding it. ‘Jihadi John’ Issues Apology – For ‘Shaming His Parents’
By Ari Soffer. Mohammed Emwazi, the man revealed as ISIS executioner “Jihadi John”, has reportedly written a letter to his family apologizing for “shaming” them – but not for his murderous acts.
According to the UK’s Sunday Times, Emwazi sent a letter to his family – who, since he was outed as the face behind the black-clad jihadi killer have fled Britain back to Kuwait – in which he said he was sorry for the “problems and trouble the revelation of his identity has caused.”
The letter reached his family via a third party from Syria, where Mohammed is based.
But notably he did not express any remorse whatsoever for the gruesome beheadings of a series of western and Japanese hostages, mainly aid-workers and journalists.
Experts told the Times Emwazi’s apology was likely made due to his fear of a belief among some Muslims that those who dishonor their parents go to hell instead of “paradise” after they die. (Read more from this story HERE)

It has come to my attention that the republican controlled legislature is seriously considering supporting the governors call for an expansion of the Medicaid program here in Alaska.
An expansion of Medicaid will usher in the necessity for new revenue streams in order to pay for this program. We are seriously looking at a substantial fiscal shortfall now. The last thing we need to do is to expand any programs which would put an extra financial burden on the citizens of this state. (“Alaskan Crossroads” continues below)

Before we remotely consider expanding the federal Medicaid program, perhaps we should demand the federal government fully fund their own mandated health care programs.
As an example, the Indian Health Services through the BIA is currently being funded at approximately 55%. The inability of the federal government to fully fund a medical program they are 100% obligated to, is putting massive pressure on ANMC and native health services throughout the state. Currently ANMC is unable to field the personnel they need so many doctors and nurses in their organization are met with massive overtime and are not compensated at the level of other health services in the area. ANMC is having a very difficult time recruiting and training personnel to stay in their ranks specifically due to the shortcomings of funding through Indian Health Services.
Additionally, Medicaid expansion into the native community is clearly a mechanism to absorb the Indian Health Services into Obamacare. It is a method the Obama administration is using to drive up Obamacare numbers in order to preserve President Obama’s legacy with his signature legislation.
Certainly, it would be far more advantageous for the State of Alaska to demand that the Federal Government fund their own programs fully before they come selling other programs when they clearly intend to transfer the financial burden to us.
Here are just a few questions I would like every state legislator to answer before they consider voting to expand Medicaid:
1. Do you know the amount the State of Alaska will currently be forced to pay based on the shortfall?
2. Do you know the amount the State of Alaska will pay in two years when this program goes to 90% funded?
3. Do you know the rate of decrease over the next ten years regarding the federal government’s commitment?
4. Do you know the penalty of “opting out” if this program becomes economically unsustainable at a state level.
5. What additional revenues are you planning in order to meet the increased obligations?
6. Do you know this program may have an adverse effect on employers dropping healthcare on employees who qualify?
7. Do you know the rate Medicaid will pay and if medical institutions and doctors will accept patients at a lower level of reimbursement?
8. Are you aware of the substantial administrative costs passed to the medical profession in order to implement such program?
Any legislator who votes for expansion is voting to either implement a state income tax or raid the PFD in order to sustain this program. Their term in office may recede into the historical library of the legislature, but Alaskan’s will be forced into paying this government expansion of healthcare in perpetuity.
It is my considered opinion that expanding Medicaid in Alaska is a short sighted gain for a long term loss. Within a very short period Alaskans will be paying for additional revenues to comply to the federal mandate of matching funds. It will be economically impossible to “opt out.”

U.S. Army maneuver officials here just finished testing miniature drones and other high-tech soldier kit, much of which is designed to help infantry squads and platoons spot the enemy first.
From March 2 through March 5, soldiers from the Army’s Experimentation Force, or EXFOR, participated in the Army Expeditionary Warrior Experiment, an annual event aimed at evaluating innovative equipment with the potential to revolutionize infantry combat.
This year, the AEWE focused on 75 prototype technologies ranging from network communications gear to loadbearing kit, to sustainment and force protection equipment.
Many showed promise, but it was the pocket-sized Black Hornet and backpack-sized InstantEye unmanned aerial systems that captured the imaginations of 1st Platoon, A Company, 1st Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment, the unit that makes up the EXFOR.
Hosted by the Maneuver Center of Excellence, the AEWE puts untested gear into the hands of infantrymen for a short period of intense field exercises. The experiment puts the EXFOR through a series of day and night missions and several fragmentary orders, or FRAGOs, to make test conditions as challenging as possible. A former counter intelligence operative who served in eight counter-terrorist operations, worked as an Arabic linguist with the SEALS, and was employed by both DHS and the FBI, is convinced that Obama’s policies in the Middle East are leading us to World War III.
Specifically, Captain Joseph John, a Naval Academy and Harvard graduate, contends that the Obama administration’s Iran policy is certain to end in failure. He believes Iran is “within six months to a year” of building a nuclear weapon and that that will spawn a Middle East nuclear arms race. More terrifying, Captain John is convinced that Israel will not stand idly by with a “dagger at its throat,” and may make a preemptive nuclear strike against Iran. The international impact would be catastrophic. He suggests that Russia’s involvement in such a conflict is not outside the realm of possibility.
Captain John also mentions the significant Muslim influences on Obama noting that although he is probably not a practicing Muslim right now, he has sympathies toward Islam. He states that during one Joint Chiefs of Staff meeting, Obama stomped out after someone mentioned Islam.
Captain John singles out one of Obama’s chief advisors, Valerie Jarrett, and notes that she is Iranian and likely a Muslim. He also talks about Obama destroying the readiness of the US military, taking our navy down to pre-World War One size, socially re-engineering the military with homosexual and “transgendered” soldiers, causing major retention issues, and other problems.

By Jesse Byrnes. Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Sunday suggested that Hillary Clinton could face criminal charges if she knowingly withholds emails from congressional investigators.
Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Issa noted that “voluntary cooperation does not guarantee that it’s a crime not to deliver all” requested emails.
“A subpoena, which Trey Gowdy issued, is so that in fact it will be a crime if she knowingly withholds documents pursuant to subpoena,” Issa said.
The former House Oversight Committee chairman issued three subpoenas related to the 2012 Benghazi attacks, he said, acknowledging the House Select Committee on Benghazi last week subpoenaed all of Clinton’s emails during her tenure as secretary of State.
Clinton last week called on the State Department to release the 55,000 pages of her emails that she self-selected and turned over. State has turned over about 900 pages to the committee. (Read more about the possible criminal charges against Hillary Clinton HERE)
‘Huge Gaps’ in Clinton Email Record, Benghazi Probe Chief Says
By Lisa Lambert and Timothy Gardner. Huge gaps exist in the emails former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has provided to a congressional committee investigating the 2012 attack on a U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, the panel’s chairman said on Sunday.
Republican Representative Trey Gowdy said his committee lacked documentation from Clinton’s trip to Libya after the attack despite a popular photo image of her using a handheld device during a flight to that country.
“We have no emails from that day. In fact we have no emails from that trip,” said Gowdy, who heads the committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. “There are huge gaps.”
Widely considered the frontrunner for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, Clinton used a private email account for all official business as President Barack Obama’s secretary of state from 2009 to 2013. (Read more from this story HERE)

By Fox News. A message allegedly from the head of Nigeria’s Boko Haram terror group Saturday pledged his group’s allegiance to Islamic State.
The pledge to IS came in an Arabic audio message with English subtitles alleged to have come from Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau and posted Saturday on Twitter, according to the SITE Intelligence monitoring service.
“We announce our allegiance to the Caliph of the Muslims … and will hear and obey in times of difficulty and prosperity, in hardship and ease, and to endure being discriminated against, and not to dispute about rule with those in power, except in case of evident infidelity regarding that which there is a proof from Allah,” said the message. IS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has declared himself the caliph.
The message was posted on Twitter, hours after Boko Haram was blamed for four suicide bomb attacks in northeastern Nigeria that killed at least 54 people and wounded more than 140 people. (Read more from “Boko Haram Swears Allegiance to ISIS” HERE)
Australian Teens Stopped at Airport for Attempting to Join ISIS
By Associated Press. Two Australian brothers aged 16 and 17 were stopped at Sydney Airport on suspicion that they were young jihadis headed to join the Islamic State group, officials said Sunday.
The young brothers from Sydney raised the suspicions of customs officials as they attempted to depart on Friday afternoon, Border Protection Minister Peter Dutton said.
He did not say where the pair were headed apart from a Middle Eastern “conflict zone.” He also refused to say what was found in the boys’ luggage that raised suspicion and led to the brothers beings reported to the airport’s new counterterrorism unit.
“These two young men aged 16 and 17 are kids, not killers, and they shouldn’t be allowed to go to a foreign land to fight then come back to our land eventually more radicalized,” Dutton told reporters. (Read more from this story HERE)

In his weekly news summary [below], Joe Miller discusses the unrelenting attack on American democracy. For instance, activist federal courts are displacing democratic lawmaking across the country. In Alabama, a single federal judge announced an unconstitutional decree setting aside the will of over 80% of Alabamans with respect to traditional marriage. No matter your perspective on the gay issue, the aggressive, unlawful, and distinctly undemocratic move of the courts in this area is a very troubling development.
Joe also talks about Obama’s Department of in-Justice, blocking the search for Lois Lerner’s destroyed emails and comments on the overall lawlessness of the administration. Why does the President do what he does? “Because he’s King Obama and he rules by executive order.”
With respect to the Elites’ continuing assault on the sensibilities and interests of average Americans, Joe observes that even though the vast majority of the electorate – on the right and on the left – oppose giving benefits to illegal aliens, it’s happening anyway.
Much of this has to do with the fact that the “Boehner-Obama axis is alive and well.” So don’t be fooled by those saying that Boehner’s wings have been clipped by rebel conservative congressmen. Boehner’s liberal agenda continues to march forward. The only difference is that Boehner has been forced out in the open as the “big government loyalist he is.”
Boehner’s reelection is yet another example of the ongoing assault on democracy: even though the vast majority of Republicans across the country opposed Boehner’s reelection as Speaker, about 90% of GOP House Members voted for him in a complete repudiation of their representative duty.
Finally, Joe explains why he’d like to see King Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton as the nominees of their respective parties.

Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore says two U.S. Supreme Court Justices should recuse themselves from an upcoming vote on gay marriage because they have performed the marriages of same-sex couples.
Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Elena Kagan have both performed same-sex marriages, which indicates how they may vote on the issues of gay marriage, Moore said in an interview with AL.com on Thursday. “Their actions speak louder than their words,” he said.
The U.S. Supreme Court in April is set to hear an appeal from U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals decisions upholding bans on same-sex marriage in Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky and Tennessee. The ruling is set to be issued in June and and settle the issue in other states, including Alabama.

Historically Black Schools Say Obama’s Policies Have Fallen Short
By Danielle Douglas-Gabriel. The country’s first African American president is finding himself increasingly at odds with a cornerstone of the African American community: historically black colleges and universities.
Leaders at these schools and some black lawmakers say the Obama administration has been pushing policies for years that hurt students at a time when historically black colleges are already cash-strapped and seeing a drop in enrollment.
Tensions spilled over after a recent Congressional Black Caucus meeting with Obama and Vice President Biden in which the president said that historically black schools, also known as HBCUs, needed to do a better job graduating students and not saddling them with debt, according to several people at the meeting. Some Black Caucus members bristled at those remarks since they say the president didn’t acknowledge that his own administration was also pursuing policies that advocates say are hurting the schools.
“The president thinks that HBCUs — and there may in fact be some — are failing our students,” said Rep. Marcia L. Fudge (D-Ohio), who was in attendance. “But there needs to be an open dialogue about higher education and why HBCUs have historically gotten short shrift when it comes to resources and recognition.” (Read more from this story HERE)
