‘Collusion’ Author Stumbles When Asked for Evidence

The author of a book alleging “collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia admits it’s really unknown whether the Russians exerted inappropriate influence over the candidate.

The revelation comes from Luke Harding, a foreign correspondent with the Guardian newspaper of London, who wrote “Collusion: Secret Meetings, Dirty Money, and How Russia Helped Donald Trump Win.” . . .

However, while he talked about the tradition of Russia trying to compromise foreign leaders, he was unable to provide Maté with evidence of that happening with Trump.

The interviewer immediately asked the key question: “Luke, welcome. Let’s start with the book’s title. Do you think there actually was collusion?”

Harding said “we’re already across the line in terms of collusion” and cited Trump’s “first trip to Soviet Moscow in 1987 paid for by the Soviet Union where he was discussing hotel deals.” (Read more from “‘Collusion’ Author Stumbles When Asked for Evidence” HERE)

France OKs Muslim Prayers in Street, Bans Christmas Movie

France is a secular Republic, because it separates religion and state and it mostly sees religion as a private matter; restricted to the home and places of worship.

But for years, France has allowed Muslim street prayers and to heavily criticise them was simply not done. Sometimes even roads were blocked and cars were being redirected to make room for Muslim street prayers. It looks like when Islam is involved, France’s secular principles have suddenly disappeared.

For Christianity in France it’s a totally different story. According to the European Post, a Christmas movie in the French city of Langon was banned, because it was “too Christian”, or “not secular enough”. The European Post writes:

A Christmas movie was judged by teachers as “not secular enough” and was therefore banned from schools in the French city of Langon in the department of Gironde on 13 December.

83 students of a French school started to watch the movie “The Star“, a computer animated adventure comedy based on the history of Jesus, a movie produced by Columbia Pictures.

Trump Branded Hitler Over Recent Announcement

By Bob Unruh. The Palestinians, who reacted with outrage and violence when President Trump allowed a U.S. law recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel to take effect, now are declaring there is no difference between the U.S. president and Adolf Hitler.

The Fatah movement, run by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, tweeted a statement with Trump’s image above a photo of the German dictator who ordered the deaths of millions in the Holocaust.

“I dont (sic) see any different, do you?” the tweet said. “#HandsOffAlQuds.”

Al Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem.

The tweet was spotlighted by Palestinian Media Watch, which called it “another demonization of U.S. President Trump because of his decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.” (Read more from “Trump Branded Hitler Over Recent Announcement” HERE)

New Western Wall Train Station to Be Named After Trump

By Jerusalem Post. A train station that will be built next to the Western Wall will be named after US President Donald Trump.

The decision was made by Transportation Minister Israel Katz, who said: “The Western Wall is the holiest place for the Jewish people, and I decided to name the train station that leads to it after president Trump – following his historic and brave decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel.” . . .

Katz said that he sees the project of extending the length of the railway from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as the most important national project, and ordered officials in the Transportation Ministry to define it as a top priority mission. MORE Chain Migration Islamic Terrorism; More Media Blackout

While Americans were celebrating this long Christmas weekend, another chain migrant from an Islamic country was arrested for plotting a terror attack against the very country that admitted him. It’s part of a growing wave, almost daily, of Islamic immigrants arrested on terrorism-related charges, yet there is a complete blackout in the media about the existence of this troubling pattern and about the growing problem with imported terrorism.

Meanwhile, as we gear up for a new legislative year in Congress, the focus is all about more amnesty for illegal aliens rather than protecting Americans from the autopilote chain migration from the Middle East. The only one who cares about protecting our sovereignty is President Trump, but the runaway courts and their status as supreme arbiter of national security are rendering his actions moot.

On Friday, Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty, an immigrant from Egypt who later became a naturalized citizen, targeted Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, police in a series of shootings in three separate locations on Friday, one of which injured a local officer.

Acting DHS press secretary Tyler Houlton confirmed that El-Mofty was a beneficiary of chain migration. “The long chain of migration that led to the suspect’s admission to the United States was initiated years ago by a distant relative of the suspect. One of the most recent links in that chain was an extended family member admitted into the United States from Egypt on an F24 visa,” said Houlton in a statement from DHS.

As PJ Media’s national security correspondent, Patrick Poole, observes, “The terror attack happened on the same day that Jalil Ibn Ameer Aziz was being sentenced in federal court in Harrisburg for material support for ISIS. Aziz received a 12-year prison sentence.” Aziz also threatened to behead President Obama in 2015. Thus, we now have an American capital city beleaguered by Islamic terrorists imported from the Middle East. Thanks to chain migration from the Middle East, the cancer has spread to all corners of this country.

But this is not all. Houlton also confirmed on the same day that a Pakistan-born woman, Zoobia Shahnaz, who was charged earlier this month with laundering Bitcoin in a scheme to raise money for ISIS, was also a beneficiary of chain migration. How was she admitted? On an F43 visa, an adult child of an F41 visa holder who was initially brought in by another relative. This is a similar visa to the one used by Akayed Ullah, the recent New York bomber from Bangladesh.

Almost every day since the New York bombing, I’ve seen stories of Islamic migrants or children of Islamic migrants in cities and towns across this great nation arrested on terrorism charges, yet it is buried by mainstream media publications. It’s no longer newsworthy that America is becoming like Europe, with ubiquitous Islamic terrorism activities imported to our shores through immigration. Much as in France, our prisons are filling up with Islamic terrorists arrested here at home. The New York Times reported last week that Ahamed Khan Rahimi, the convicted Chelsea bomber from last year who injured 30 people in a terror attack, is already radicalizing fellow inmates in a Manhattan prison.

Egypt, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are all countries that have benefited from both the diversity visa lottery and chain migration, which create a self-fulfilling momentum of mass migration from the Middle East with no regard for the security concerns of Americans. All the existing migrants from these countries who have already obtained citizenship can bring in an unlimited number of like-minded family members, irrespective of their political beliefs or their hate for our values.

The numbers of those already in the pipeline from these countries due to chain migration are staggering and will flood us with more Islamic radicalism unless Congress acts. As of this writing, there were roughly 300,000 more chain migrants on the visa waiting list just from Bangladesh and Pakistan alone. Most of them are distant relatives, known as “fourth preference” visas, such as the F43 visa of the Pakistani alleged Bitcoin criminal.

Overall, 97 percent of the four million individuals on the visa waiting list are chain migrants whose sole claim to an immigrant visa is family ties. There is no regard for skills, values, or security in the existing broken system. Sadly and ironically, most of them will be admitted based on ties to the two million or so Middle Easterners we admitted after 9/11. It’s truly scary to see more Islamic immigrants arrested on terrorism charges who came to this country after some of us were already raising awareness of the problems with mass migration.

Is anyone in the political system other than the president willing to ask why we should turn America into Europe? Jews in Sweden are now under attack from endless anti-Semitism wrought by Islamic migrants. How can anyone think it’s a good idea to bring this dynamic to our shores without any filtering, vetting, or adjustments to our cracked immigration system?

Yet Congress is planning to focus solely on amnesty in January. Mitch McConnell promised open-borders fanatic Jeff Flake a vote on “Dream” amnesty, yet there is no such promise to vote on Tom Cotton’s Raise Act, which would end chain migration and the diversity lottery. The Raise Act is not just an economic issue; it’s a national security issue.

Meanwhile, Judge Robart, yes, that Judge Robart, just issued another judicial legislative proclamation to force Trump to bring in more refugees, despite being slapped down twice by the Supreme Court. He ordered the administration to suspend its stricter vetting of relatives who are brought in by refugees from a number of trouble spots and general vetting procedures of those from 11 targeted countries. Shockingly, Robart said he agreed with plaintiffs that Trump’s policies “will harm the United States’ national security and foreign policy interests.” Yes, we now have a district judge determining national security and foreign policy, while telling us that turning America into Europe will enhance our national security.

Lower courts are still preventing this president from using his existing plenary authority to act.

I’m not sure what it’s going to take for Congress to get serious about immigration reform, the importation of Sharia supremacism to our shores, and fighting back against the hubris-filled lower courts. Sadly, the more pervasive Islamic terrorism grows on our shores, the more acclimated our political system becomes to its existence as the new normal. Just look across the pond to Europe. We seem to always follow in lockstep the terrible examples before us. (For more from the author of “MORE Chain Migration Islamic Terrorism; More Media Blackout” please click HERE)

New UFO Group Staffed With Deep State Spooks Scheming Another Threat to Take Your Freedoms?

That may sound like a misguided question. But let’s look at Tom DeLonge’s company, currently acting as a conduit for new UFO revelations.

DeLonge, a famous musician (Blink-182, Angels and Airwaves) has surrounded himself with high-level spooks from the CIA and the military, in his new venture, To the Stars Academy.

One of his lead collaborators is Luis Elizondo, who was the Pentagon chief of a secret program (2007-2012) to study and explore UFO activity. Elizondo is now the point man for media, explaining the breaking news about a 2004 US military sighting of a UFO, and subsequent failed attempts to analyze materials from UFOs. He’s also hinting that alien UFOs are a potential threat to our safety, a threat we can’t ignore.

Every major press outlet in the world, starting with the NY Times, is covering this story.

Who are the players on De Longe’s team? Buckle up. The following quotes are from the Academy’s site:

Jim Semivan—“Mr. Semivan retired from the Central Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations after 25 years as an operations officer, both overseas and domestically.”

Hal Puthoff—“Dr. Puthoff’s professional background spans more than five decades of research at General Electric, Sperry, the National Security Agency (NSA), Stanford University and SRI International. Dr. Puthoff regularly advises NASA, the Department of Defense and intelligence communities…”

Luis Elizondo—“Luis Elizondo is a career intelligence officer whose experience includes working with the U.S. Army, the Department of Defense, the National Counterintelligence Executive, and the Director of National Intelligence. As a former Special Agent In-Charge, Luis conducted and supervised highly sensitive espionage and terrorism investigations around the world. As an intelligence Case Officer, he ran clandestine source operations throughout Latin America and the Middle East.”

Chris Mellon—“He served 20 years in the federal government, including as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Intelligence in the Clinton and Bush Administrations.”

Paul Rapp—“His past honors include a Certificate of Commendation from the Central Intelligence Agency for ‘significant contributions to the mission of the Office of Research and Development’.” (Note: This office, ORD, was where the CIA’s MKULTRA mind control program secretly landed, in 1962, after it purportedly ended.)

Norm Kahn—“Dr. Kahn had over a 30-year career with the Central Intelligence Agency…”

Getting the picture?

That’s quite a roll call of military and intelligence insiders. Did DeLonge recruit them, or did they covertly recruit him, viewing him as a sincere, but rather clueless front man they could use for their own purposes?

But let’s go one layer deeper with a few of these names on Tom DeLonge’s team at the To the Stars Academy.

Dr. Norm Kahn’s career with the CIA “culminat[ed] in his development and direction of the Intelligence Community’s Counter-Biological Weapons Program.”

Dr. Rapp “is a Professor of Military and Emergency Medicine at the Uniformed Services University.”

Dr. Garry Nolan, another Academy advisor, “is the Rachford and Carlota A. Harris Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University School of Medicine…He holds a B.S. in genetics from Cornell University, a Ph.D. in genetics from Stanford University.”

Luis Elizondo’s “academic background includes Microbiology, Immunology and Parasitology, with research experience in tropical diseases.”

And finally, another Academy team member, Dr. Adele Gilpin, “is a scientist with biomedical academic and research experience as well as an active, licensed, attorney.”

Why are all these medical people on board, along with intelligence and military players? Microbiology, parasitology, immunology, genetics, biological weapons? What do these fields have to do with UFOs?

It doesn’t take a great deal of imagination to come up with a few answers. Military and intelligence and microbiological people, working together on UFO scenarios, could easily concoct “threat assessments” focusing on “unique viruses coming to Earth from space.” Via drift, or even through “aliens” visiting from afar.

I say “threat assessments,” because that is how these people think and how they spin.

Don’t be too surprised if you hear language like this emerge:

“We must prepare for all eventualities. After all, if we aren’t alone in the universe, we could be subject to life forms at the micro level we aren’t ready for, and to which we have no natural immunity…”

When your professional background is inventing enemies, there are no limits to the scenarios you’ll dream up.

Suppose we soon hear this: “Dr. X has suggested the need for extensive research on possible vaccines against a whole range of unknown viral species from outer space…”

The CEO of Merck would sit up straight and grab the phone. He would want to talk to his contact at the Defense Department. He smells a new government contract.

A few big shots at the US Centers for Disease Control would huddle in a meeting. How can they get in on the action? Perhaps they can find an astrobiologist who’ll claim “the possibility of human disease originating in space has been considered for many years. We’ve always been puzzled by the genetic makeup of certain viruses. When you consider that components involved in the formation of Earth itself could have come from distant space, these components certainly could have carried microbes with them…”

Yes, that would be a start. “And if, in fact, we have had ‘visitors,’ wouldn’t they carry their own set of unique viruses?”

Here is an actual news story from gizmodo.com (6/22/15), “Why Scientists Have Been Scared of Space Germs for Almost 50 Years”: “The 1967 Outer Space Treaty was one of the few things the U.S. and the Soviet Union managed to agree on at the height of the Cold War. Among other things, it forbid both nations from bringing space microbes back to Earth, or spreading Earth germs to other planets.”

“Mostly, they [scientists] worry about single-celled, microscopic organisms, such as bacteria, some fungi, and viruses – or whatever the alien version of single-celled life looks like. We know for certain that bacteria and viruses can survive exposure to the harsh conditions of space long enough to hitch a ride to someplace more hospitable [like Earth].”

“Once they [Apollo mission personnel] returned to Earth, the crews went into immediate quarantine. First they lived in a mobile isolation unit on the aircraft carrier that recovered the landing capsule, then in an aircraft set up for isolation, and finally in a special quarantine unit at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. They stayed there for three weeks, while NASA doctors performed tests and watched for any signs of illness that might indicate an alien infection.”

Perfect. The intelligence and military and medical people at DeLonge’s Academy could cook up “space-virus” scenarios in a heartbeat. And with a series of press statements, they could pitch a threat assessment to the press. They already own a direct pipeline to the NY Times, which tells you they have an official green light to move forward.

We’re looking at something extraordinary here. A rock musician, who’s been intensely interested in UFOs for years, starts his own Academy, and he’s instantly surrounded by important CIA and Pentagon and medical players. They have access to the most powerful press outlets.

They’ve already sold a story about military contact with a UFO, and another story about pieces from a UFO that resist all attempts at analysis. It was a remarkably easy sale. Poof. No problem.

Why not hoist up the flag on bio-threats from deep space? Carefully craft the language. Peddle that tale, too.

There are lots of payoffs. Raise the public level of fear. Always a goal when the CIA and the Pentagon are in the game. Stimulate government contracts (big money) for new medical research. Use this research as a cover for yet more (illegal) work on offensive bio-warfare programs. Hell, if they’re going to go that far, why not claim the Russians have already isolated viruses from space and are developing super bio-weapons—and you have the makings of a brand new shiny Cold War.

Too wild to be believed? No, not really. When you own the basic narrative, and you have good propagandists at your disposal, the sky’s the limit.

Or in this case, space.

It may be the Final Frontier of exploration, but it’s also the frontier of sheer fabrication.

“Are you ready, boys? All right, let’s go. Work it. Work the new virus-from-space scenario. This is a big one. All hands on deck. Sell it. Sell that jive. The New York Times is panting for more. Give it to them.”

There are rumblings in Congress about resurrecting the Reagan Star Wars plan to build space weapons, which would intercept enemy nuclear missiles. Why not piggy-back a staggeringly expensive program to install “virus detectors” in space, to alert the government to “incoming microbes” from Out There—or from purported Russian “bio-attacks?”

“They’d never be able to sell that idea.”

Really? Given enough time and propaganda, and given control of the basic narrative, government scientists can sell almost anything.

For decades, they’ve been selling the concept and practice of taking babies and toddlers, who possess almost no immune systems of their own, and injecting them with brews of toxic chemicals and microbes—known as vaccination—in order to stimulate and produce immunity in those non-existent immune systems.

Back in the mid-1990s, a whole brew of hysteria was whipped up about the Hot Zone. The thesis went this way: Because of the ease of global travel, all sorts of dangerous viruses, buried for centuries in Africa and the rainforests of South America, were going to come to the West and kill untold numbers of people, who had developed no natural immunity to them. Books and articles and films about this threat appeared.

Well, the next great Hot Zone story would be Space.

And To the Stars Academy has the right people on board to promote and hustle it.

Plus, on the side, DeLonge’s Academy can always use all those medical experts to analyze an alien ET body that suddenly pops up in a locker at Area 51. (For more from the author of “New UFO Group Staffed With Deep State Spooks Scheming Another Threat to Take Your Freedoms?” please click HERE)

Proven: Facebook Leads to Depression

Facebook has acknowledged what multiple studies have already confirmed – the social network has a tendency to make users depressed, stressed, and envious.

After years of studies pointing to negative experiences for users of Facebook, the social media giant has finally conceded that users may experience periods of sadness or depression. “In general, when people spend a lot of time passively consuming information — reading but not interacting with people — they report feeling worse afterward,” Facebook wrote in a new blog post titled “Hard Questions: Is Spending Time on Social Media Bad for Us?”.

Facebook mentions a University of Michigan study titled “Passive Facebook usage undermines affective well-being: Experimental and longitudinal evidence.” In the study students were randomly assigned to read Facebook for ten minutes. The students who only scrolled reported feeling in a worse mood by the end of the day when compared to students who talked to friends and posted on Facebook. The blog post also mentions a study from UC San Diego and Yale which found that people who clicked on about four times as many links as the average person, or who liked twice as many posts, reported worse mental health than average in a survey.

The blog also notes that a study conducted by Facebook and Robert Kraut at Carnegie Mellon University found that people who sent or received more messages, comments and Timeline posts reported improvements in social support, depression and loneliness.

Simply broadcasting status updates wasn’t enough; people had to interact one-on-one with others in their network. Other peer-reviewed longitudinal research and experiments have found similar positive benefits between well-being and active engagement on Facebook.

Facebook concludes their post by stating that their research and the academic literature “suggests that it’s about how you use social media that matters when it comes to your well-being.” Interestingly, Facebook’s solution to negative emotional responses caused by too much Facebook is basically to use Facebook more often and in a more social manner. Facebook writes:

According to the research, it really comes down to how you use the technology. For example, on social media, you can passively scroll through posts, much like watching TV, or actively interact with friends — messaging and commenting on each other’s posts. Just like in person, interacting with people you care about can be beneficial, while simply watching others from the sidelines may make you feel worse.

Although Facebook is only now publicly discussing the effects of the social network being so heavily intertwined with billions of people’s lives, there have been studies examining the issue since at least 2013. Reuters UK reported that a group of researchers from the Institute of Information Systems at Berlin’s Humboldt University found that “one in three people felt worse after visiting the site and more dissatisfied with their lives, while people who browsed without contributing were affected the most.”

“We were surprised by how many people have a negative experience from Facebook with envy leaving them feeling lonely, frustrated or angry,” researcher Hanna Krasnova told Reuters.

According to a 2014 study published in Computers in Human Behavior, most users are not very social when using social media, choosing instead to passively consume information. The study, “Facebook’s emotional consequences: Why Facebook causes a decrease in mood and why people still use it,” found that this leaves users feeling unfulfilled and dissatisfied. Users experienced a decline in mood after spending time scrolling through Facebook. The mood decline was not prevalent during browsing the Internet in general. The researchers believe people leave Facebook feeling as if they wasted their time and this causes them to feel sad for being unproductive.

Another study published in the June 2016 issue of Current Opinion in Psychology found that Facebook contributes to envy of friends and could lead to depression. A February 2017 study, titled “Association of Facebook Use with Compromised Well-Being: A Longitudinal Study,” argues that using Facebook regularly can have a negative effect on a person’s well being. “Exposure to the carefully curated images from others’ lives leads to negative self-comparison, and the sheer quantity of social media interaction may detract from more meaningful real-life experiences,” the report says.

In the report “Seeing Everyone Else’s Highlight Reels: How Facebook Usage is Linked to Depressive Symptoms,” researchers investigated how social comparison to peers through Facebook interactions might impact users’ psychological health. The research provides evidence that people feel depressed after spending a large amount of time on Facebook. The problem was again attributed to comparing oneself to others.

Indeed, the concern over Facebook use was recently echoed by Sean Parker, Facebook’s first president. Parker was speaking at an Axios event at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia when he discussed the origins and implications of Facebook:

“The thought process that went into building these applications, Facebook being the first of them … was all about: ‘How do we consume as much of your time and conscious attention as possible?’” Parker said.

“And that means that we need to sort of give you a little dopamine hit every once in a while, because someone liked or commented on a photo or a post or whatever,” he told Axios. “And that’s going to get you to contribute more content, and that’s going to get you … more likes and comments.”

Parker added: “It’s a social-validation feedback loop … exactly the kind of thing that a hacker like myself would come up with, because you’re exploiting a vulnerability in human psychology.”

“The inventors, creators — it’s me, it’s Mark Zuckerberg, it’s Kevin Systrom on Instagram, it’s all of these people — understood this consciously,” he said. “And we did it anyway.

As Aaron Kesel recently noted for Activist Post,

This is also not the first time Facebook has been outed for manipulating perception. In 2014 they were exposed for blatantly targeting human emotions in an experiment without their users’ knowledge:

Facebook revealed that it had manipulated the news feeds of over half a million randomly selected users to change the number of positive and negative posts they saw. It was part of a psychological study to examine how emotions can be spread on social media. (Source)

The implications of these studies should not be ignored. The world’s largest social network is already a partner of the U.S. government and maintains close relationships with intelligence agencies around the world. The fact that we also know the platform is harming us on an emotional, psychological, and possibly even spiritual level, should not be taken lightly. Flight Forced to Turn Around After ‘Unauthorized Person’ Found on Plane

An All Nippon Airways flight from Los Angeles to Tokyo on Tuesday night was forced to turn around after an “unauthorized person” was found aboard, angering passengers who were four hours into an 11-hour flight.

The ANA 175 flight to Tokyo’s Narita Airport had to return back to Los Angeles International Airport due to a “mix up and was straightened up,” LAX Airport police said.

Authorities were told to have a unit and supervisors present when the plane arrived back to Los Angeles, KABC-TV reported.

Model Chrissy Teigen was apparently aboard the flight and took to social media to vent her frustration with the bizarre incident.

“A flying first for me: 4 hours into an 11 hour flight and we are turning around because we have a passenger who isn’t supposed to be on this plane. Why…why do we all gotta go back, I do not know,” Teigen said in a tweet.

Disgusting: Prestigious College Publishes ‘Trans’lation of Bible – Offers Course in ‘Queering God’

One of the nation’s most prestigious liberal arts colleges is advancing a “queer theology” agenda with hopes of destabilizing traditional beliefs about what the Bible says about gender and sexuality.

Swarthmore College, founded by Quakers, is offering courses in “queering the Bible” and “queering God.” The courses were first reported by Campus Reform.

“Queering the Bible” is a one-credit class that surveys “queer and trans readings of biblical texts.”

“By reading the Bible with the methods of queer and trans theoretical approaches, this class destabilizes long held assumptions about what the Bible – and religion – says about gender and sexuality,” the course description reads . . .

“The God of the Bible and later Jewish and Christian literature is distinctively masculine, definitely male. Or is He?” the course description reads. “If we can point out places in traditional writings where God is nurturing, forgiving, and loving, does that mean that God is feminine, or female?” (Read more from “Prestigious College Publishes ‘Trans’lation of Bible – Offers Course in ‘Queering God'” HERE)

ISIS Has Lost 98 Percent of Its Territory – Mostly Since Trump Took Office

ISIS has lost 98 percent of the territory it once held — with half of that terror group’s so-called “caliphate” having been recaptured since President Trump took office less than a year ago, U.S. military officials said Tuesday.

The massive gains come after years of “onerous” rules, when critics say the Obama administration “micromanaged” the war and shunned a more intensive air strategy that could have ended the conflict much sooner.

“The rules of engagement under the Obama administration were onerous. I mean what are we doing having individual target determination being conducted in the White House, which in some cases adds weeks and weeks,” said retired Air Force Lt. Gen. David Deptula, the former head of U.S. Air Force intelligence. “The limitations that were put on actually resulted in greater civilian casualties.”

But the senior director for counterterrorism in former President Barack Obama’s National Security Council pushed back on any criticism the former president didn’t do enough to defeat ISIS.

“This was a top priority from the early days of ISIS gaining the type of territorial safe haven in particular, there was recognition that safe havens for terrorist groups can mean terrorist plots that extend — not just into the region — but to Europe and conceivably into the United States,” said Joshua Geltzer, author of “US Counter-Terrorism Strategy and al-Qaeda: Signalling and the Terrorist World-View,” now a visiting professor at Georgetown Law School.
