Threatening Legal Fight, Nunes Demands Document That Kicked off FBI Trump-Russia Investigation

By Washington Examiner. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., has sent a letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding an uncensored copy of the document the bureau used to formally begin its investigation into alleged collusion between Russia and Trump’s presidential campaign.

The originating document has been the subject of much controversy. After some Republicans alleged that the FBI used never-verified parts of the Trump dossier as part of its reason to begin the investigation in July 2016, some “current and former” officials leaked to the New York Times that no, it was the case of George Papadopoulos, reported to U.S. authorities by foreign intelligence agents, that prompted the FBI investigation.

“The information that Mr. Papadopoulos gave to the Australians answers one of the lingering mysteries of the past year: What so alarmed American officials to provoke the FBI to open a counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign months before the presidential election?” the Times reported on Dec. 30. “It was not, as Mr. Trump and other politicians have alleged, a dossier compiled by a former British spy hired by a rival campaign. Instead, it was firsthand information from one of America’s closest intelligence allies.” (Read more from “Threatening Legal Fight, Nunes Demands Document That Kicked off FBI Trump-Russia Investigation” HERE)

Mueller’s Team Questioning Russian Oligarchs

By CNN. Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has taken the unusual step of questioning Russian oligarchs who traveled into the US, stopping at least one and searching his electronic devices when his private jet landed at a New York area airport, according to multiple sources familiar with the inquiry.

A second Russian oligarch was stopped during a recent trip to the US, although it is not clear if he was searched, according to a person briefed on the matter.

Mueller’s team has also made an informal voluntary document and interview request to a third Russian oligarch who has not traveled to the US recently. (Read more from “Mueller’s Team Questioning Russian Oligarchs” HERE)

Mitch McConnell Says Midterms Will Be Tough for the Republican Party

By The Blaze. In an interview with Kentucky Today, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) expressed concern this week over how his party might fare in the 2018 midterm elections.

Speaking with the paper’s editorial board, McConnell said “This is going to be a challenging year. We know the wind is going to be in our face. We don’t know whether it’s going to be a Category 3, 4, or 5.”

Other GOP lawmakers have voiced fears for their party in 2018, citing jitters over President Trump’s tariffs, the passage of a bloated omnibus spending bill and the possibility of an energized Democratic Party.

McConnell said he hopes for Republicans to be able to at least hold the Senate, where critical appointments can shape the future of the country. (Read more from “Mitch McConnell Says Midterms Will Be Tough for the Republican Party” HERE)

Rep. Darrell Issa to Retire, Adding to Record GOP Exodus From Congress

By NPR. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., announced he will not seek re-election Wednesday, adding to a record number of House Republicans heading for the exits ahead of the 2018 midterms — perhaps seeing the writing on the wall of a possible wave election for Democrats.

There are now 31 Republicans who will not seek re-election in November: 19 who are retiring outright and another 12 who are running for higher office. And that list is is expected to grow in the coming weeks.

The last time a party had nearly that many members retire during a midterm year was in 1994, when 28 Democrats left and the GOP subsequently took back control of Congress in the Republican Revolution. Now, it’s Republicans who find themselves in the opposite and unenviable position. Just one year into his term, President Trump has record low approval ratings, congressional Republicans have had few legislative achievements save for the tax overhaul they passed last month, and Democrats seem more fired up than ever to issue a rebuke to the GOP at the ballot box this year. Trump Jr. Slams Double Standard Over Attack on YouTube Headquarters

By The Blaze. . .Trump Jr. wondered in a rhetorical question if the social media accounts of the suspected attacker were shut down because she was liberal.

“You think there’s any chance whatsoever that a mass shooters hateful Instagram and YouTube channels would be pulled immediately if they were NRA members as opposed to liberal Vegan PETA activists?” he tweeted.

“Asking for a few million friends in the @NRA,” he added, sarcastically . . .

Trump Jr. appeared to imply that had the attacker been politically right-wing, or an NRA member, that the social media accounts would have been allowed to linger so that the media could push a political narrative. Donald Trump Jr. Tweets After YouTube Shooting, Stirs Gun Debate

By Fox News. Donald Trump Jr. on Tuesday responded to reports that the YouTube shooter’s “hateful” Instagram and YouTube channels were pulled “immediately” after the shooting at the company’s headquarters.

“You think there’s any chance whatsoever that a mass shooters hateful Instagram and YouTube channels would be pulled immediately if they were NRA members as opposed to liberal Vegan PETA activists? Asking for a few million friends in the @NRA” Trump Jr. tweeted, referring to the National Rifle Association.

Authorities said Nasim Aghdam, 39, opened fire with a handgun at the YouTube headquarters in San Bruno, Calif., wounding three people before fatally shooting herself . . .

The extent of Aghdam’s animal activism or possible connection to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) was unclear Tuesday. She was once quoted in a 2009 news report about a PETA protest . . .

Aghdam also posted videos on YouTube, mostly about animal rights, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Some of the videos reportedly appeared to be graphic, including one of a dog being boiled alive. Other videos “extol the virtues of a vegan diet,” the report said. GROSS: Ex-Vanity Fair, MSNBC Contributor Says Kyle Kashuv Is in Desperate Need of ‘Psychiatric Help’

Apparently, Kurt Eichenwald — who may or may not have a contract with Vanity Fair and MSNBC — sent a series of emails to Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro regarding Parkland survivor Kyle Kashuv . . .

Eichenwald emailed Shapiro Tuesday claiming he was doing a piece on Shapiro’s and Kashuv’s professional relationship, however, the email comes across extremely condescending toward Kyle — and the right in general.

The emails sent by Eichenwald to Shapiro called into question Kyle’s mental health, accused Kyle of using right-wing trolls and Ben Shapiro to agitate Eichenwald online, and of being “obsessed” with Shapiro to an unhealthy extent. Shapiro didn’t take kindly to the emails and posted them online . . .

“I consulted a friend of mine who is a psychiatrist – a political conservative, since that seems so important to you – and based on what he read, the psychiatrist said the following,” claimed Eichenwald. “Kyle is in desperate need of psychiatric help or support.”

He later refers to Kashuv as a “psychologically troubled kid” and asks Shapiro not to show the emails to Kyle. Eichenwald then accuses Shapiro’s followers of sending him strobe GIFs to trigger an epileptic seizure.

Facebook Pulls 180 After Banning Jesus From Site

By WND. Facebook has confessed it was mistaken when it banned an ad featuring the image of Jesus on a cross on Good Friday and says the image now is acceptable for use.

Fox News reported a Facebook official told the news agency: “This image does not violate our ad policies. We apologize for the error and have already let the advertiser know we approved their ad.”

WND reported the image of the San Damiano Cross, showing Jesus in glory, “reigning from his cruciform throne,” was refused by Facebook because of its “shocking content.”

“This is what the monitors at Facebook consider excessively violent, sensational, and shocking,” said a statement from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.

The university said it had posted a series of ads to Facebook to promote an online degree program for theology, catechetics and evangelization. (Read more from “Facebook Pulls 180 After Banning Jesus From Site” HERE)

Facebook Apologizes for Blocking Catholic University’s Ad of Jesus on the Cross

By Fox News. Facebook apologized after it rejected an ad by a Catholic university in Ohio on Good Friday that showed Jesus hanging on the cross.

The social media giant labeled the religious image “shocking and excessively violent,” according to a university spokesman.

Franciscan University of Steubenville published 10 Facebook advertisements for its master’s degree program in theology, catechetics, and evangelization. Tom Crowe, Steubenville’s web communications director, told Fox News he doesn’t know why only the one clearly depicting the San Damiano Cross was rejected.

“It may have been the algorithm or a low level staffer who has something against Christianity,” Crowe said. “For whatever reason, Facebook rejected the cross.”

Facebook apologized Wednesday for the mistake. (Read more from “Facebook Apologizes for Blocking Catholic University’s Ad of Jesus on the Cross” HERE)

Graffiti of President Trump Shooting School Children Shocks U.S. Town

By Bizpac Review. The city of Florence, Ala., considers itself an all-American town, but a local graffiti artist may not have gotten the memo considering an outrageous depicting President Donald Trump.

The extensive artwork, which appeared over the weekend, depicts Trump holding a handgun, having shot and killed a number of children outside a schoolhouse, WHNT-TV reported.

The graffitti included the hashtag #NeverAgain, which originated with the left’s gun control push following the shooting at a Florida high school that claimed 17 lives . . .

Sarah Shirey, who owns Turbo Coffee across from the latest display, was none too pleased.

“It’s not something that we want to have to see every day,” Shirey told the local CBS affiliate. (Read more from “Graffiti of President Trump Shooting School Children Shocks U.S. Town” HERE)

Graffiti of Trump Involved in School Shooting Shocks the City of Florence

By WHNT. The wonderful thing about the First Amendment, people are allowed to express their thoughts and feelings. However, someone has shocked an entire city after they put their latest graffiti creation in downtown Florence.

Historic Downtown Florence is known for its all-American feel. Over the last several years though, graffiti artists have been putting their stamp on walls . . .

“My husband and I were looking at it, trying to figure it out, and then we realized all of the red coming out of the bodies was blood; and then I was assuming it was a school shooting,” stated Shirey.

Florence city leaders are just as shocked as Shirey and the others who have seen it. The display is on private property so their hands are sort of tied . . .

“They are obviously trying to send a message about what they believe, and I guess people have that freedom here, but that is a private piece of property and so they can’t really do it there. Which we really don’t appreciate it there,” Shirey said. (Read more from “Graffiti of Trump Involved in School Shooting Shocks the City of Florence” HERE)

Hillary Clinton Recalls the Time Putin Used a Dog to Big-Boy Merkel and How It Screams Sexism

By The Daily Caller. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton called Russian President Vladimir Putin a “misogynist” Tuesday, saying he used his dog to intimidate German Chancellor Angela Merkel at a meeting between the two in 2007.

At a panel hosted by The Wing workspace in New York City, Clinton implied Putin was a sexist because he allowed his black lab Koni into the room during a meeting between the two leaders. Clinton claimed Putin let his dog into the room because he knew that Merkel was scared of dogs.

“Angela Merkel came to visit him and he knew the intelligence and he knew that Angela Merkel was afraid of dogs,” Clinton said, according to People.

Clinton called Merkel one of the “great European leaders post World War II” and said Putin let the dog in to “intimidate and embarrass” Merkel.

“So, you have these one-on-one meetings. All of a sudden, while the press is still there, this very large black dog came into the room. It was meant to intimidate and embarrass Angela Merkel, who is one of the really great European leaders [of] post World War II,” Clinton said. Hillary Clinton Recalls Hairy Story About ‘Misogynist’ Vladimir Putin

By Huffington Post. Hillary Clinton has a pet peeve with Russian President Vladimir Putin: He’s a “world-class misogynist” who had no qualms about using his dog to intimidate a powerful woman . . .

Putin has said he had no intention of frightening Merkel when he brought out his black Labrador Koni at his residence in Sochi. He said he wanted “to do something nice for her,” and apologized when he discovered she didn’t like dogs.

Merkel reportedly was bitten by a dog in 1995. Putin had been briefed by the Kremlin on Merkel’s fear of dogs in 2006, when he presented her with a stuffed toy dog, The New York Times reported.

Merkel said Putin pulled the dog stunt at Sochi “to prove he’s a man.” (Read more from “Hillary Clinton Recalls Hairy Story About ‘Misogynist’ Vladimir Putin” HERE)

Candace Owens ‘Open Letter’ to Illegal Aliens Triggers Libs. She Signed the Letter, ‘Black America.’

Turning Point USA’s Director of Urban Engagement, Candace Owens, sure knows how to “trigger” the left.

Owens, a black conservative activist, really stirred liberals when she shared online an open letter to a defiant caravan of illegal immigrants who were marching toward the U.S. southern border, warning that Democrats “never met a victim they couldn’t exploit” for political gain, adding that the Central Americans can look forward to “lies, manipulation, and government dependency.”

She signed the letter, “Black America.”

That Owens sarcastically suggested she speaks for black America didn’t set too well with liberal minorities, even those who don’t grasp that the “illegal immigrants” also entered Mexico illegally.

Or that they are possibly being “replaced” by illegal immigrants “more willing to fall on the sword for the corrupt [Democratic National Committee].”

Village Bans Semi-Automatic Weapons, Residents Must Remove From Home or Face up to $1,000 Fines — per Day

By The Daily Wire. Rulemakers in the village of Deerfield, Illinois, have voted unanimously to ban semi-automatic rifles, along with pistols and shotguns “with certain features,” as well as with magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition.

The ban passed Monday night outlaws any weapon the village leaders deem “assault weapons,” including AR-15s. But the ban also includes “semi-automatic rifles, pistols and shotguns with certain features.”

“This is our fight. This is our generation’s fight, and we’re going to keep fighting,” Deerfield High School student Ariella Kharasch said at a public hearing, according to ABC-7 in Chicago. “Thank you for being part of that.”

The new ordinance takes effect June 13. Residents who still have banned weapons after that date face up to $1,000 fines per day.

The new ordinance was modeled on a ban put in place in Highland Park, Illinois, which went to the United States Supreme Court. The high court let a lower court ruling allowing the ban stand. The amendment to the village’s gun ordinance restricts firearms village leaders define as assault weapons, such as AR-15s.

“This is our fight. This is our generation’s fight, and we’re going to keep fighting,” said Deerfield High School student Ariella Kharasch. “Thank you for being part of that.”

Deerfield’s new ordinance also prohibits high-capacity magazines. The ordinance is patterned after Highland Park’s ban on high-powered weapons. (Read more from “Deerfield Village Board Unanimously Votes to Ban Some Semi-Automatic Weapons” HERE)

National Guard Going to Border, DHS Wants ‘Military Installations’ Built

On Wednesday, Department Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen announced that President Donald Trump is sending the National Guard to protect the United States’ southern border and also indicated that DHS is looking into constructing military installations along the border.

Nielsen’s announcement that the National Guard is being deployed to the southern border comes after Trump said on Tuesday that he will use the military to defend the border.

“It’s time to act,” Nielsen said, adding that the deployment force sent to the border “will be strong.” Nielsen said that the logistics involved in deploying the National Guard are being worked out with governors and that “we do hope that the deployment begins immediately.”
