WATCH: Pelosi Says a Democratic President Will Declare a National Emergency on This Issue

After President Donald Trump declared his national emergency Thursday afternoon, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had a warning for Republicans: a Democratic president can declare a national emergency on gun violence. Because today marked the one year anniversary of the tragic shooting in Parkland, Florida, Pelosi used the opportunity to slam Trump’s decision to declare an emergency on the border but not for gun violence.

If the president declares a national emergency on gun violence, then what’s the solution? Universal background checks? High capacity magazine ban? An assault weapons ban? Implementing red flag law? A national registry? Gun confiscation?

At least when Trump talked about declaring a national emergency at the border we knew what the end goal was: a border wall to keep out illegal aliens. With a “gun violence” declaration, there’s no clear goal or endgame. And not only that, but this would be a direct assault on the Second Amendment. President Trump UNLOADS After News Hits That Andrew McCabe Tried to Oust Him in a Coup

On Thursday, President Donald Trump reacted to the news that former Acting Director of the FBI Andrew McCabe discussed invoking the 25th Amendment to oust the president from office after Trump fired then-FBI Director James Comey, who had been widely criticized by partisans in both parties. . .

“Disgraced FBI Acting Director Andrew McCabe pretends to be a ‘poor little Angel’ when in fact he was a big part of the Crooked Hillary Scandal & the Russia Hoax – a puppet for Leakin’ James Comey,” mocked Trump.

A report from the Justice Department Inspector General “was devastating” for McCabe, added Trump. “Part of ‘insurance policy’ in case I won….”

“The Justice Department Inspector General alleges that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe inappropriately authorized the disclosure of sensitive information to a reporter and then misled investigators and former FBI Director James B. Comey about it on several occasions,” reported The Washington Post.

Trump continued: “Many of the top FBI brass were fired, forced to leave, or left. McCabe’s wife received BIG DOLLARS from Clinton people for her campaign – he gave Hillary a pass. McCabe is a disgrace to the FBI and a disgrace to our Country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Focus on the Family Plans to Broadcast Live 4D Ultrasounds on Giant Screen in Times Square

In response to New York’s recent decision to allow abortions up to the moment of birth, Focus on the Family has launched “See Life Clearly,” the largest pro-life effort in the history of the organization.

The global Christian ministry’s campaign will conclude on May 4 with “Alive from New York,” featuring live 4D ultrasounds that will be broadcast across the large monitors in Times Square.

“We’re looking forward to celebrating life in the middle of Manhattan this coming May. Times Square is known as ‘The Crossroads of the World’ and we’re at a crossroad as a nation regarding life,” Focus on the Family President Jim Daly told TheBlaze in an email. “Do we really want to be part of the Abortion Axis of Evil – like China, North Korea and Vietnam that allows abortion for any reason after 20 weeks? We’re hearing from people all over the country who are disgusted by the blatant disregard for life. Enough is enough!”

Focus on the Family President Jim Daly believes the images of a baby inside a mother’s womb will be undeniable.

“We’ll have great speakers. We’re going to have music, but we’re also going to do a live ultrasound of a third-trimester baby. County Declares Itself ‘Second Amendment Sanctuary County’ to Protest Gun Law

In protest of a pending law that expands background check requirements for gun purchases, a New Mexico County has deemed itself a “Second Amendment Sanctuary County,” according to Fox News.

One of the laws in question, HB 8 would require background checks for gun purchases even between private citizens, which the New Mexico Sheriff’s Association called an unenforceable law.

The other law, HB 83, would create an “Extreme Risk Protection Order” that would authorize the seizure of guns and ammo from people who are deemed to be a danger to themselves or others. . .

New Mexico House Republicans expressed support for Quay County’s decision to pass a resolution in protest of the laws.

“We see counties starting to fight back against the over-reach of House Democrats,” state Rep. Rod Montoya (R-Farmington) said. “New Mexicans who are not even accused of a crime can lose their 2nd Amendment rights under this bill and that’s beyond wrong.”Under HB 8 it would be a misdemeanor to buy or sell a gun privately without a federal background check. Call It What It Is: Andrew McCabe Plotted a Coup to Overturn Results of the Election

Fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s book tour began with a “60 minutes” interview this week in which he confirmed that he commenced an effort to remove President Trump from office, citing his concerns with the president’s supposed ties to Russia, for which no evidence has ever surfaced.

Citing several thoroughly debunked Russian collusion narratives, McCabe, under the impression that President Trump was somehow compromised as commander in chief, attempted to gather votes inside the administration to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove the president from office.

In a “60 minutes” preview clip, McCabe forwarded the baseless conspiracy theory that President Trump won the election with the assistance of the Kremlin.

“I was speaking to the man who had just run for the presidency and won the election for the presidency. And who might have done so with the aid of the government of Russia, our most formidable adversary on the world stage,” McCabe said during the interview. “And that was something that troubled me greatly.”

Putting aside that Russia is not “our most formidable adversary” (it’s China, by a mile), to date, not a single piece of evidence has emerged that the “Russia case” was anything but a complete hoax based on opposition research sourced to anonymous Russians that was paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign.

“I wanted to make sure that our case was on solid ground and if somebody came in behind me and closed it and tried to walk away from it, they would not be able to do that without creating a record of why they made that decision,” McCabe continued.

Unfortunately for McCabe, there was no “solid ground” to be found. The Russia investigation came up entirely empty, and the FBI bureaucrats’ leak-and-smear campaigns were not enough to oust the duly elected president through other means.

And the president was not even behind McCabe’s ultimate removal from his post. The former FBI deputy director was fired after a Department of Justice internal probe found that he committed gross misconduct on multiple occasions. The devastating report found that McCabe lied under oath several times. That wasn’t all. He also attempted to sabotage his own FBI colleagues for his personal leaks to the media. McCabe later excused his activity, claiming his lies under oath were a result of the “chaos inside the FBI under siege from [President] Trump and his allies.” Currently, McCabe is under a Department of Justice-authorized grand jury investigation.

Of course, McCabe’s long list of alleged criminal activities and his extreme credibility problem have been almost entirely overlooked in the legacy media stories promoting his “60 Minutes” interview. The same applies to the reality that McCabe’s Russia probe never amounted to anything.

Andrew McCabe was far from the only FBI official to disgrace himself. Other now-fired FBI officials, such as James Comey and Peter Strzok, helped transform the FBI into a political weapon to sabotage the president through the baseless Trump-Russia investigation. There are still only two primary explanations for their conduct. The first is they were simply incompetent and commenced a probe without sufficient nonpartisan evidence. The second and more likely explanation is that McCabe and his cohorts were on a hell-bent quest to overturn the results of the election. Call it what it was: a soft coup attempt. State Passes Bills to Ban Abortion After a Baby’s Heartbeat Is Detected

The Mississippi Legislature on Wednesday passed bills to ban abortions after an unborn baby’s heartbeat is detected — usually at about six weeks — Live Action reported.

The “heartbeat bills” passed by the state Senate and House offer no exceptions for victims of rape or incest, according to The Clarion Ledger. There are, however, exceptions if it is believed the pregnancy could cause serious harm or endanger a woman’s life.

If either bill is ultimately agreed to and signed into law, abortions would be illegal in Mississippi as soon as a heartbeat is detected. Mississippi Republican Gov. Phil Bryant has said he would sign a bill banning abortion as early as six weeks. . .

Republican Sen. Joey Fillingane presented the bill in the Senate, according to the Clarion Ledger. That prompted Democratic Sen. Derrick Simmons to ask Fillingane if he was aware that Mississippi has spent $1.2 million defending in court a previous 15-week abortion ban, which was struck down by a federal judge. . .

The Hidden Amnesty Provision in the ‘Border Security’ ‘Deal’

We’re finding more and more problems in the proposed “border security” “deal” being peddled by congressional negotiators and leaders.

Not only does it fund a laundry list of government programs rather than fully securing the southern border, it also contains a pretty stunning amnesty provision.

Initially flagged by Jessica Vaughan of the Center for Immigration Studies, section 224(a) of the almost 1,200-page spending proposal would prohibit federal immigration enforcement from detaining anyone who has any sort of relationship with an unaccompanied alien child (UAC), even as a “potential sponsor” or “member of a household of a sponsor or potential sponsor.”

“That’s de facto sanctuary for anyone near a UAC,” Vaughn said of the measure on social media. “Ridiculous.”

Here’s the text of the section (emphasis mine):

None of the funds provided by this Act or any other Act, or provided from any accounts in the Treasury of the United States derived by the collection of fees available to the components funded by this Act, may be used by the Secretary of Homeland Security to place in detention, remove, refer for a decision whether to initiate removal proceedings, or initiate removal proceedings against a sponsor, potential sponsor, or member of a household of a sponsor or potential sponsor of an unaccompanied alien child ( as defined in section 462 (g) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 279(g))) based on information shared by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.

This would make obvious further mockery of U.S. immigration law. Additionally, children are already being exploited and trafficked in order to manipulate the loopholes in America’s asylum system. This is a proposal to turn children into the ultimate human shields against deportation for would-be illegal immigrants and cartel traffickers. One can only imagine that will do to the rates of near-border kidnappings and human trafficking associated with illegal immigration. SHOCKER: Bernie Sanders Calls Ilhan Omar to Offer His Support

Sen. Bernie Sanders, who was born Jewish but who has attacked Israel for years, called anti-Semitic Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) on Tuesday to offer his support, reportedly saying, “We will stand by our Muslim brothers and sisters.”

As reported by Jewish Insider, and confirmed by The Daily Beast, Sanders spoke with Omar. The Daily Beast reported:

Omar’s office confirmed that the congresswoman spoke with Sanders—who is Jewish—but the conversation was off-record and so they could not go into further details about the contents of the discussion. A source familiar with the conversation confirmed to The Daily Beast that Sanders expressed support for Omar.

The Daily Beast noted that Jewish Insider had stated Sanders had discussed Omar’s anti-Semitic tweets on a conference call hosted by James Zogby. The Daily Beast added, “Zogby told The Daily Beast the call was off-record when contacted about the veracity of the reporting, but the source familiar with the lawmakers’ conversation confirmed the Jewish Insider story.” . . .

In 2017, Sanders referred to the “occupation” that Israel had foisted on the “Palestinian territories,” saying, “its daily restrictions on the political and civil liberties of the Palestinian people runs contrary to fundamental American values,” and adding, “Like our own country, the founding of Israel involved the displacement of hundreds of thousands of people already living there, the Palestinian people. House Freedom Caucus Tries to Buy Time for Trump, Because the Border ‘Deal’ Is Worse Than You Thought

The conservative House Freedom Caucus is urging Congress to slam the emergency brake on the bipartisan border security “deal” that no one has read.

The bill text was released Thursday, just one day before Congress needs to vote on it to keep the government from shutting down on Friday. It’s over 1,000 pages long, and in the short time it’s been publicly available, analysts have found has several provisions that undermine U.S. border security. In response, Freedom Caucus member Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., introduced a short-term continuing resolution to keep the government open while giving members of Congress an extra week to read through the deal.

Several House conservatives have backed Biggs, urging Congress to let lawmakers read the bill before voting.

President Trump and Congress need the extra time to negotiate a better deal. One of the provisions that should signal a five-alarm fire for conservatives is language that gives de facto amnesty to illegal immigrants by forbidding ICE to detain any “sponsor” or “potential sponsor” or “member of a household” of an unaccompanied child migrant, as reported by the Center for Immigration Studies’ Jessica Vaughan.

So in summary, there’s amnesty, catch-and-release is expanded, there’s more money for foreign aid than there is for a wall, and the fence funding that is included is severely limited. CR senior editor Daniel Horowitz blasted this deal:

The bottom line is that President Trump cannot sign this deal and expect to secure the border. Some will argue that conservatives can’t expect better with Democrats in control of the House, but that’s not true. President Trump should announce his intention to veto the deal and side with the Freedom Caucus in pushing for a short-term continuing resolution to keep the government open. Then, if Congress can’t come to a better deal, the president can use 10 U.S.C. § Section 284 to instruct the secretary of defense to begin “construction of roads and fences and installation of lighting to block drug smuggling corridors across international boundaries of the United States.”

Trump has options besides this dumpster fire Swamp deal to build the wall and secure the border, and he doesn’t need to declare a national emergency to get the job done. Conservatives must demand that Trump veto the border deal. Former Air Force Officer Accused Of Being Iran Spy, Charged With Espionage

By Daily Wire. On Wednesday, former Air Force intelligence office Monica Witt was charged with espionage for allegedly defecting to Iran and helping create a cyber-spying operation which targeted her former colleagues.

CBS News reports that Witt is accused of defecting to Iran in 2013 and sharing highly-classified U.S. intelligence about a classified Department of Defense program. Authorities claim Witt collaborated with the elite Iranian military unit, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The FBI’s wanted listing says that Witt was indicted by a grand jury on February 8, and charged with “Conspiracy to Deliver National Defense Information to Representatives of a Foreign Government and Delivering National Defense Information to Representatives of a Foreign Government.”

“Monica Witt is charged with revealing to the Iranian regime a highly classified intelligence program and the identity of a U.S. Intelligence Officer, all in violation of the law, her solemn oath to protect and defend our country, and the bounds of human decency,” assistant attorney general John Demers wrote in a statement.

Witt, 39, had high-level security clearances and was in the Air Force from 1997 to 2008, then became a Defense Department contractor until 2010. Former Air Force Officer Charged With Espionage, Accused of Helping Iran

By CBS News. The Department of Justice charged former U.S. Air Force special agent and counterintelligence specialist Monica Witt with espionage, accusing her of defecting to Iran in 2013 and revealing highly-classified U.S. intelligence to the government in Tehran.

In a grand jury indictment unsealed Wednesday, prosecutors said Witt, 39, provided the Iranian government information about a classified Defense Department program and helped Tehran’s intelligence services target her former colleagues in the U.S. intelligence community. According to authorities, Witt collaborated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, an elite military unit charged with exerting Tehran’s influence around the world.

“[Witt] appears to have switched her allegiance to thinking that the United States, where she was born and raised and worked, was not where her allegiance was anymore,” assistant attorney general John Demers told CBS News Wednesday. Witt’s actions, the FBI said, put the life of the officer whose identity she revealed at risk.
