Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) somehow tried to make the latest attack at the U.S. Capitol about AR-15s and she received a lot of ridicule and mockery from social media in exchange.

The heinous attack at the Capitol on Friday was perpetrated by a suspect who was a supporter of the Nation of Islam who used a car to ram into Capitol police officers and then threatened other officers with a knife. He was shot and killed by other officers.

Despite the only gun in the incident being used to kill the assailant, Omar tried to shoehorn a gun control narrative into the lethal attack. . .

Omar’s tweet received backlash from many online, including Alaska Gov. Mike Dunleavy.

Putin Is Russia’s Sexiest Man, Russian Poll Finds

. . .When asked who the most handsome man in their country was, 18% of Russia’s men and 17% of its women allegedly thought of their bare-breasted, horseback-riding, scandal-immune leader, Vladimir Putin.

The highly suspect and mildly terrifying poll by job board site Superjob.ru surveyed 2,000 Russians and determined that the 68-year-old bachelor is the sexiest man in the country, the Moscow Times reported. . .

And coincidentally, the “open-ended” survey, which was conducted in person, was published after Putin was granted permission by lawmakers to run for president until 2036.

No word yet on what happened to the 82% of men and 83% of women who didn’t vote for Putin in the poll. However, it should be noted that 19% of men named themselves as Russia’s most handsome man. Biden Administration Invokes Civil Rights Act to Stall Texas Highway Widening

President Joe Biden’s Department of Transportation is invoking the Civil Rights Act to pause a highway project near Houston, a rare move that offers an early test of the administration’s willingness to wield federal power to address a long history of government-driven racial inequities.

DOT’s intervention follows complaints from local activists that the state’s proposed widening of Interstate 45 would displace an overwhelmingly Black and Hispanic community, including schools, places of worship and more than 1,000 homes and businesses.

It also comes as Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg has identified racial equity as a major priority for his department — after decades in which federal highway money has paid for projects that leveled minority and low-income communities. Joe Biden Is About to Lock up a Lot of Black People

If the Biden administration is serious about cracking down on the supposed rise in anti-Asian American violence and bias, it’s going to have to take a break from all that racial “equity” it’s been hyping.

And it’s going to have to prepare itself to lock up a lot of black people (and maybe a few Hispanics). . .

The New York Times reported that part of Biden’s initiative will be “prioritizing prosecution of those who commit hate crimes” against people of Asian descent.

I guess that’s a good thing, but what happens when prioritizing the prosecution of anti-Asian hate crimes disproportionately affects the black community?

Report: Facebook Is Allowing China to Buy Ads Depicting ‘Thriving’ Uyghurs in Xinjiang

Facebook staffers were reportedly growing concerned that the platform was allowing Chinese state actors to buy ads spreading propaganda with limited regulations, according to a report published Friday.

Employees were discussing ads purchased by Chinese entities that depict “thriving” Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang province, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. China was estimated to have detained at least 1 million Uyghurs in reeducation camps, in what the U.S. considered an act of genocide.

Facebook has been blocked in China since 2009, but has earned $5 billion per year in advertising revenue from Chinese businesses and government agencies, according to Reuters. One Muslim Facebook employee reportedly authored a “plea to leadership” for the company to “action to fight misinformation on the Uighur genocide,” according to the Journal. . .

Advertisements purchased by Beijing included videos featuring children showcasing the supposedly great lives they are living in Xinjiang detention camps, the Journal reported. The ads claim that the West was trying to “destabilize China” with false claims of genocide. Disturbing Report Confirms Feds Were Buying Baby Body Parts

Over the last few years there’s been an uproar over the abortion industry’s profiting from the sale of the body parts of unborn babies. . .

Now government watchdog Judicial Watch has found that the government is among the purchasers of body parts.

The organization on Thursday said it obtained several hundred pages of records from the Food and Drug Administration “showing the agency spent tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars to buy human fetal tissue” from California-based Advanced Bioscience Resources, or ABR.

The company was the subject of criminal referrals from both House and Senate committees. The purchases were used in the federal government’s program to “humanize” mice for “testing” programs.

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said the “fetal organ trafficking documents shock the conscience and show potentially illegal use of tax dollars to purchase organs of the unborn killed through abortion.”

Why Easter’s Holy Week Means Hope for the Downcast

If Easter is about anything, it’s about hope conquering hopelessness, eternal life defeating death, and God’s grace prevailing over Satan’s condemnation. Easter is the best good news there is because Christ is risen. This is what Christians celebrate, and it is a message to widely proclaim with clarity and conviction. . .

Easter may be all bright, happy news, but we must appreciate the darkness of the backdrop upon which the resurrection of Jesus is painted. We easily embrace that Christ is victorious, but victory requires struggle. Recall, Holy Week begins with the Triumphal Entry, where Jesus is wildly celebrated as he enters Jerusalem. He is the people’s rock star, but things change fast.

The Savior of the world hits the lowest point of His life just days later. By Thursday evening Jesus is in the depths of despair. As Luke 22:41-44 relays:

And he withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and knelt down and prayed, saying, ‘Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.’ And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

“And being in agony, he prayed.” Consider these words about God Himself. That is part of the great wonder of the central truth of Christianity. Have you ever been in agony, seemingly without hope? Most of us have. But we can take great hope in the mysterious fact that God Himself — while remaining fully God — has experienced it too. Texas Lt. Governor Blasts American Airlines For Opposing Election Integrity Bill

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) is “stunned” American Airlines issued a statement opposing an election integrity bill, Senate Bill 7, following passage early Thursday morning, as the CEO admittedly did not read the legislation.

“I am stunned that American Airlines would put out a statement saying ‘we are strongly opposed to this bill’ [Senate Bill 7],” the lieutenant governor said, “just minutes after their government relations representative called my office and admitted that neither he nor the American Airlines CEO had actually read the legislation.”

Patrick said he heard the same outcries from corporations in 2011 — claims that Texas passed a “voter suppression” bill when it passed a photo voter ID bill. He said the opposite of voter suppression occurred.

“Voter turnout in Texas soared from 7,993,851 in 2012 to 11,144,040 in 2020, a 39 percent increase. Gubernatorial election voter turnout has increased by 76 percent since photo voter ID was passed,” he said in his statement.

NPR Admits Major Error After Claiming Hunter Biden Laptop Reports ‘Discredited’; Hunter Admits Laptop ‘Could Be His’ (VIDEO)

By Daily Wire. NPR admitted to making a major error in its coverage of Hunter Biden on Thursday, walking back a claim that news reports of information found on Biden’s alleged laptop were “discredited.”

The outlet, which is funded by taxpayer money, issued a correction to a March 31 review of Biden’s new memoir, “Beautiful Things.” The story originally claimed that news reports citing information found on a laptop Biden had allegedly dropped off at a Delaware computer store in 2019 were “discredited” by news outlets and experts.

“A previous version of this story said U.S. intelligence had discredited the laptop story. U.S. intelligence officials have not made a statement to that effect,” the correction says.

The outlet also edited a paragraph in the middle of the review on Rudy Giuliani, former President Donald Trump’s personal attorney, and his attempts to spotlight Biden’s history of drug abuse and questionable overseas business dealings. There were unconfirmed reports of a shooting and people being taken away on stretchers.

U.S. Capitol Police: 2 officers injured, person arrested in external security threat

By WHNT News 19. U.S. Capitol Police say all Capitol buildings were being locked down “due to an external security threat” and staff members were told they could not enter or exit the buildings.

The person arrested and the two officers were taken to the hospital.
