Russia, Ukraine Reach Energy Cease-Fire ‘Effective Immediately,’ Trump Reveals — Catching Kyiv Off-Guard

President Trump announced Sunday that Russia and Ukraine have reached an energy cease-fire — which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky welcomed despite calling it “news” to him.

“Effective immediately, there is an ENERGY CEASEFIRE in the War between Russia and Ukraine,” Trump posted on Truth Social, days after he roiled Kyiv by unveiling a diesel purchasing deal with Moscow.

“Both parties have agreed. Do not break it! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Trump’s announcement appeared to catch Kyiv off-guard.

“The cease-fire announcement was news for me,” Zelensky told Axios’ Barak Ravid after Trump’s Truth Social post.

“But if Russians agree to an energy cease-fire Ukraine will agree. If President Trump negotiated it with Putin — please tell us when the cease-fire begins — we are ready and we will accept it,” he said. Man Enters Tiger Enclosure At Zoo, Gets Mauled To Death

A man climbed into a tiger enclosure at an English wildlife park over the weekend and was killed by the animal inside.

South Yorkshire Police said officers received reports at 1:35 p.m. Saturday that a man had entered the tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near Doncaster. The tiger attacked and left him with serious injuries, and he died at the scene despite attempts to save him, according to the police.

The victim has not been identified. Police said his family had been informed and were being helped by specially trained officers.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent two land ambulances, an air ambulance and a doctor to the park, ITV News reported.

The tiger came through the attack unharmed and stayed inside its pen, police said, adding that the public was never at risk. The park was cleared after the incident. (Read more from “Man Enters Tiger Enclosure At Zoo, Gets Mauled To Death” HERE)

‘More Dangerous Than Drugs’: Bill Gates Warns Of Risks Posed By Artificial Intelligence

The man behind one of the most significant technological revolutions of the last 50 years expressed dire warnings about the consequences of unregulated artificial intelligence during a Sunday interview on CNN.

Speaking with “State of the Union” host Jake Tapper, Microsoft founder Bill Gates warned of the risks unregulated artificial intelligence (AI) — recently rebranded as “super intelligence” by President Donald Trump and other industry leaders — could pose. The concern by the tech icon follows Anthropic’s CEO, Dario Amodei, penning a Sept. 12 letter calling for a slowdown of AI development so safety and oversight efforts could catch up with the rapidly evolving technology.

When asked by Tapper if his beliefs would fall under OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s label of “doomerism” for those who envision AI in worst-case scenarios, Gates replied, “Well, all responsible AI leaders, including Sam Altman, including Dario Amodei, they are telling the world, ‘This is very concerning.’”

“The way that gets articulated in terms of potential negative scenarios: yes, it can get overblown. When people act like all of humanity is at risk in some imminent way, that is going too far. But, say, compared to cars or planes or drugs — all things that I think we’re pleased that we have significant regulatory capability to try and keep people safe — this is more dangerous than any of those.”

Tapper also questioned if Gates thinks world leaders are doing enough to prevent a bioterrorist attack, to which he responded, “Well, no, we’re not doing enough.” (Read more from “‘More Dangerous Than Drugs’: Bill Gates Warns Of Risks Posed By Artificial Intelligence” HERE)

DOJ Investigating Five Major News Networks for Alleged Boycott of White House Events

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating several major television networks for an alleged boycott of events at the White House after President Donald Trump banned CNN and other outlets.

The investigation is probing ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and Fox News, as officials with the DOJ have reportedly told those networks to hand over internal communications and documents related to their joint coverage, a Daily Mail article published Sunday read.

“The inquiry centers on the White House television pool, a decades-old arrangement under which broadcasters take turns recording presidential events and distributing footage to other news organizations,” the Mail report stated.

The news came after President Trump in September said he was banning Politico, MS Now, and CNN from the White House for allegedly reporting fake news, according to Breitbart News.

NBC News cited a DOJ official in its report on the investigation:

“Members of the television press pool have boycotted covering White House events. Group boycotts among commercial competitors can violate the Sherman Act. The Antitrust Division is simply investigating to determine whether these news organizations have violated the antitrust laws,” department spokeswoman Emily Covington said Saturday.

Trump Rips into Volodymyr Zelensky — Insisting it’s Time for Ukraine to ‘Get a New President’

President Trump ripped into Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday insisting that it’s time for Ukraine to “get a new president.”

The fiery comments came just hours after his administration announced a deal to have Russia supply 300,000 metric tons of diesel to the US and global energy markets.

The president described the arrangement as a direct response to Zelensky’s continued targeting of Russian oil refineries – even after Trump asked him to stop the attacks.

“I said to him: ‘do what you want, don’t hit refineries,’” Trump told reporters as he left the White House Saturday afternoon en route to a rally in Tennessee.

He hammered Zelensky for failing to bring about an end to the Ukraine war, which began with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin launching a full-scale invasion in February 2022.

“You’ve lost 30% of your country and you’ve had over a million people killed. … I think it’s time for Ukraine to get a new president,” Trump fumed.

“Zelensky could have settled this war many times – many many times. And he chooses not to. Very difficult. It’s a war that should have never been started,” he continued. (Read more from “Trump Rips into Volodymyr Zelensky — Insisting it’s Time for Ukraine to ‘Get a New President’” HERE)

Zelenskyy Furious as Trump Announces Deal to buy Russian Diesel

Donald Trump is on a fresh collision course with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European allies after his stunning agreement to buy Russian diesel upended years of US and western pressure on the Kremlin to end its war against Ukraine.

Zelenskyy reacted furiously to Trump’s announcement of the deal with Vladimir Putin on Friday, calling it “absolutely terrible” and “not fair and not honest”.

The Ukrainian president said “back room deals” with the Russian leader would give Putin more chances on the battlefield. On Saturday morning, Ukrainian officials reported that a Russian attack had killed 12 people in the south-east, including three children, and Moscow claimed its troops were advancing in the east.

In a move likely to create a fresh crisis with Washington’s Nato allies, Trump announced the deal with Putin on his Truth Social network, saying it was essential to reduce fuel prices in the US, which have soared as a result of his decision to go to war against Iran.

“I have just concluded a highly successful discussion with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia,” he said, to deliver millions of tonnes of diesel fuel over the next few months. (Read more from “Zelenskyy Furious as Trump Announces Deal to buy Russian Diesel” HERE)

ABC News Issues Correction After Appearing To Quietly Delete Story About Trump Family Member

ABC News on Friday published a corrected version of an apparently deleted article from earlier that week which drew conclusions about the business dealings of President Donald Trump’s eldest sons.

Without an immediately clear public explanation, ABC News appeared to take down from its website an Oct. 7 report which attributed a $2.5 billion investment into U.S. defense contractor Anduril to 1789 Capital, a venture capital firm founded in 2022 for which Donald Trump Jr. serves as a partner.

The retracted piece, which ABC News originally headlined “Trump sons’ investments have won billions in Pentagon contracts since his election,” was apparently republished after being revised under a new headline, “New shipyard announced amid earlier Democratic concerns about potential conflicts of interest.”

In addition, an editor’s note was included in the revision published online, reading, “CORRECTION: A version of this story published on Oct. 7 contained errors in the description of certain company investments, government contracts and event chronologies. After subsequent reporting, this version contains corrected information and additional context regarding some of those investments, contracts and events.”

The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to ABC News and 1789 Capital for comment. (Read more from “ABC News Issues Correction After Appearing To Quietly Delete Story About Trump Family Member” HERE)

One Bad Storm Could Leave America Scrambling For Fuel

America’s fuel supply has little room left to absorb a hurricane that knocks Gulf Coast refineries offline, according to federal data and energy analysts.

U.S. gasoline inventories were 6 percent below their five-year average for the week ending Oct. 2, and distillate stocks, which include diesel, were 12 percent below, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in a statement to the Daily Caller News Foundation. Hurricane Isaias, the first hurricane of the Atlantic season, had maximum sustained winds of 115 mph and was moving north toward the western Florida Panhandle at 17 mph Friday afternoon, according to the National Hurricane Center.

The Gulf Coast holds about 54 percent of the nation’s refining capacity, according to EIA data.

“We really don’t have much cushion,” Steve Milloy, a senior fellow at the Energy and Environment Legal Institute, told the DCNF.

Isaias had moved too far east to affect any refinery in Louisiana, Andy Lipow, president of Lipow Oil Associates, said in a statement to the DCNF. Lipow said a refinery that shuts down for a storm takes one to two weeks to restart if it is not damaged. (Read more from “One Bad Storm Could Leave America Scrambling For Fuel” HERE)

Boomers, Elite Made Killing After Pandemic While Everyone Else Drowned

A new report by the Federal Reserve published Friday indicates the wealth gap between affluent Americans and nearly everyone else has widened since the COVID-19 pandemic.

While the median family net worth rose 2%, to nearly $216,000, from 2022-2025, the median net worth of surveyed individuals under the age of 35 dropped 23% — to around $33,000 — during that time frame, according to the Fed’s 2025 Survey of Consumer Finances. Notably, the median net worth of those 75 or older climbed 37%, to around $504,900.

The White House did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment. The Fed told the DCNF that it didn’t have anything else to share beyond its report.

Other age brackets, however, didn’t appear to fare much better. The median net worth of respondents between the ages of 45 and 54 and 65 to 74 fell 6% and 4%, respectively. That metric, on the other hand, rose among respondents between the ages of 35 and 44 and 55 to 64 by 5% and 3%, respectively.

One factor which may have influenced these changes is participation in the stock market. Trading declined from 58% in 2022 to 56% in 2025, largely driven by lower participation of those outside of the top 10% of the income distribution identified in the report. The S&P 500 index, however, rose 78% from 2023 through 2025, The Motley Fool reported in January. (Read more from ” Boomers, Elite Made Killing After Pandemic While Everyone Else Drowned” HERE)

12-Year-Old Girl’s Milkshake Death Exposes How Even ‘Safe’ Foods can be Dangerous

A 12-year-old’s death from a Twix milkshake has highlighted an insidious way even so-called “safe foods” can prove deadly to people with severe nut allergies.

The victim, Mia Shay St Hilaire, had reportedly ordered the sweet beverage at the Pop Inn in London while visiting with her aunt and sister.

While the shake didn’t have any tree nuts — the source of her life-threatening allergy — she subsequently “developed rapidly progressing anaphylaxis” and ended up collapsing at her aunt’s home. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the youngster tragically passed away shortly after arriving, the coroner’s office said.

How did this supposedly benign beverage cost St Hilaire her life? According to CCTV reports, the restaurant’s owner Baris Yucel had used the same blender to whip up a hazelnut-harboring Kinder Bueno milkshake and didn’t wash it before prepping the preteen’s order — an issue known as allergen cross-contact.

“No family should ever have to lose a child in these circumstances,” the girl’s parents said in a statement, adding that they wanted to use their daughter’s tragedy to help “save lives in the future.” (Read more from “12-Year-Old Girl’s Milkshake Death Exposes How Even ‘Safe’ Foods can be Dangerous” HERE)
