TSA Confiscates Gun From Cawthorn at Charlotte Airport

Authorities cited Rep. Madison Cawthorn for trying to bring a handgun aboard a flight Tuesday.

The North Carolina Republican allegedly tried to bring a 9 mm handgun past security at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, according to WSOC TV. The Transportation Security Administration confirmed it confiscated a gun, and other sources confirmed to the outlet that it belonged to Cawthorn.

This would be the second time Cawthorn has tried to bring a gun past security, the first being at the Asheville Regional Airport in February 2021. He did not face any charges in that instance, though the offense could carry up to a $10,000 fine for a loaded weapon and a criminal referral.

Cawthorn, at 26 the youngest House member, has had several run-ins with the law regarding traffic violations in the past several months for speeding and driving under a revoked license. Cawthorn had a court date earlier this month as well as two more in May. His legal troubles may also now extend to insider trading implications regarding a cryptocurrency. Biden Unveils Plan to Deal With Massive Migrant Surge

The Biden administration released its plan Tuesday for handling the influx of migrants expected to cross the U.S.-Mexico border when Title 42 ends.

The plan includes six pillars to address the migrant flows, including Customs and Border Protection (CBP) having the capability to hold around 18,000 migrants at a time in custody by May 23, when the Trump-era policy used to quickly expel migrants is set to end.

“When the Title 42 public health Order is lifted, we anticipate migration levels will increase, as smugglers will seek to take advantage of and profit from vulnerable migrants. The increase in migration being experienced by the United States is consistent with larger global trends: there are currently more people in the world displaced from their homes than at any time since World War II, including in the Western Hemisphere,” Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Alejandro Mayorkas wrote in a memo.

The plan also includes steps to surge authorities to the border, provide grants to local nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) aiding migrants, and “deterring” illegal migration through agreements with Panama and Costa Rica and messages to smugglers that the border isn’t open.

“We are also sending a clear message in the region to counteract misinformation from smugglers, including that the termination of the Title 42 public health Order does not mean that the U.S. border is open. As we execute this work, our objective continues to be the safe, orderly, and humane processing of noncitizens, consistent with our laws, while protecting national security and public safety,” the plan stated. Psaki: Biden Still Claims Ignorance of Hunter’s Deals Despite New Reports (VIDEO)

Despite the newly reported evidence from visitor log files that Joe Biden met with one of Hunter Biden’s key business partners in the White House, Press Secretary Jen Psaki said Tuesday that the president stands by his statement that he has never discussed his son’s business dealings with him or with his son’s partners.

The question was posed to Psaki by Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich during the daily briefing after the New York Post reported Hunter Biden’s closest business partner, Eric Schwerin, made at least 19 visits to the White House, including a sitdown with then-Vice President Joe Biden in the West Wing. Days before the report was published last week, the Post reported Wikipedia deleted its entry for the investment company co-founded by Schwerin and the president’s son, Rosemont Seneca Partners. Rosemont was the company in the $1 billion equity deal with the state-owned Bank of China that Hunter Biden negotiated during his trip to Beijing with his father in 2013 via Air Force Two.

Second-Graders Reportedly Taught About ‘Furries,’ Other ‘Youth Subcultures’

A second grade teacher at a public school district in Texas reportedly taught students about the subculture of “furries,” according to worksheets submitted to a popular Twitter account.

Parents discovered via fliers that their second-graders at Austin Independent School District learned about “youth subcultures, from goths to furries, and many more” during the second week of April. One worksheet was titled, “Design Your Fursona” and asked students whether their “Fursona” is “male,” “female” or “non-binary.”

Students reportedly collected a Furries Word Search as well.

A spokesperson for Austin Independent School District told the Daily Caller that the worksheets on furries are not part of the district’s curriculum. . .

Democrats Are Horrified Now That Twitter Might Actually Allow Free Speech

Democratic lawmakers voiced their concerns that Twitter will allow more speech on its platform and potentially bring back former President Donald Trump after Elon Musk purchased the technology giant Monday.

Musk, who bought out Twitter for $54.20 per share Monday, has vowed to take the company in a more free speech-oriented direction, but Democrats argue that under Musk’s leadership, Twitter could see an increase of objectionable content on its platform.

“Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated,” Musk said in the statement.

Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren used Musk’s purchase to promote her proposal for a wealth tax and legislation regulating Big Tech, according to The Hill.

Vice President Kamala Harris has tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, her office announced in a statement.

“Today, Vice President Harris tested positive for COVID-19 on rapid and PCR tests. She has exhibited no symptoms, will isolate and continue to work from the Vice President’s residence,” said press secretary to the vice president Kirsten Allen.

“She has not been a close contact to the President or First Lady due to their respective recent travel schedules. She will follow CDC guidelines and the advice of her physicians. Elon Musk mocked Bill Gates on social media by likening him to an emoji depicting a pregnant man after accusing the Microsoft co-founder of selling Tesla stock short while declaring a commitment to fight climate change.

Musk on Friday claimed that he exchanged text messages with Gates, who he said wanted to “discuss philanthropy possibilities” with the Tesla and SpaceX boss. Musk added that he was in no mood to collaborate with Gates after the software pioneer confirmed that he “did not close out” his $500 million short position on Tesla.

“Sorry, but I cannot take your philanthropy on climate change seriously when you have a massive short position against Tesla, the company doing the most to solve climate change,” Musk texted Gates. . .

White House Chief Ripped for ‘Pathetic’ Macron Tweet Suggesting Hope for Biden

White House chief of staff Ron Klain is drawing ridicule for suggesting there was hope for President Biden since French President Emmanuel Macron won re-election with a 36 percent approval rating.

Biden’s popularity stands at 40 percent — with 52 percent of Americans disapproving of his performance — according to a recent Morning Consult poll shared by Klain.

“An interesting observation, just FYI. President Macron appears to have secured a double-digit victory over LePen, at a time when his approval rating is 36%. Hmmm….” Klain tweeted Sunday.

Klain drew scorn from people who pointed out the differences between French and US politics, including the fact that US presidential elections are decided by the Electoral College, which gives more weight to small states, and that French presidents generally are very unpopular.

Biden Blues: New Book Says Obama Is Jealous of President

In public, former President Barack Obama and President Joe Biden exhibit a deep bond, but behind the scenes, their rapport is fraught with tension, according to a new book.

Since Biden ascended to the presidency, Obama has felt envious of his former vice president and has “complicated feelings” about him being commander in chief, according to the new book, This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future, by Alexander Burns and Jonathan Martin, obtained by Fox News.

“Nancy Pelosi, who spoke regularly with the former president, came away from her conversations with Obama during this period with a matter-of-fact diagnosis. She told a friend: ‘Obama is jealous of Biden,’” the book claims.

Obama and the president have “occasionally” had discussions over the phone during Biden’s presidency, but the talks were “hardly the stuff of the tight brotherhood both men had sold to the country as a cheery political fable,” according to the book.

3 Navy Sailors on Same Ship Found Dead in Less Than a Week, 7 in One Year

By Fox News 8. Three sailors who served on the USS George Washington aircraft carrier have been found dead in less than a week, the U.S. Navy said. . .

At this time, the Navy hasn’t released the cause of death or circumstances for any of the sailors but said the deaths are not believed to be connected and are under investigation separately. Naval Criminal Investigative Service and local authorities are investigating.

Two of the sailors were found on April 9 and 10 at off-base locations in Hampton, Myers said. Retail Services Specialist 3rd Class Mikail Sharp was found on April 9 and Interior Communications Electrician 3rd Class Natasha Huffman was found on April 10.

Seven Dead on Same Ship in a Year

By Chris Bradford. Navy officials said the deaths don’t appear to be linked but an investigation is being carried out by officials.

Four deaths were reported in 2021.

Lt Cmdr. Robert Myers, of the Naval Air Force Atlantic, said: “We can confirm seven total deaths of service members assigned to USS George Washington over the past 12 months — 4 in 2021, and 3 in 2022.

“The circumstances surrounding these incidents vary and it is premature to make assumptions, as some incidents remain under investigation.”
