This State’s ‘Parent Bill of Rights’ Would Allow Parents to Sue Schools That Exploit Kids

The Wisconsin State Assembly and Senate have passed a “parent bill of rights” that would allow parents to sue schools that fail to inform them about their child’s gender or social transition, according to the bill.

The bill is sitting on the desk of Democratic Gov. Tony Evers, according to The Federalist. It mirrors bills advanced or alluded to in other states including Indiana, Texas, Kansas, Florida, Virginia, Missouri, and Georgia.

Wisconsin’s bill mandates that parents have “the right to review all medical records related to the child, unless specified otherwise in law or court order,” “the right to determine the names and pronouns used for the child while at school,” and “the right to review instructional materials and outlines used by the child’s school.”

According to the bill text, parents are allowed to sue governmental bodies or school officials if they violate the rights of parents or usurp “the fundamental right of a parent or guardian to direct the upbringing, education, health care, and mental health of a child.” (Read more from “This State’s ‘Parent Bill of Rights’ Would Allow Parents to Sue Schools That Exploit Kids” HERE)

Feminist Group Condemns NCAA For Ignoring Pleas Of Female Swimmers, Shielding Trans Swimmer

A feminist organization is condemning the NCAA for staying silent amid a national controversy over the inclusion of a biologically male athlete in the recent NCAA Women’s Swimming Championships.

“We are deeply disappointed by the NCAA’s promotion and celebration of a male athlete over the wellbeing of female athletes during the past few months,” Mahri Irvine, the executive director of the Women’s Liberation Front (WoLF), said in a Thursday afternoon statement to The Daily Wire. . .

“Lia Thomas has been portrayed by the NCAA as a woman who legitimately deserves to compete in women’s sports,” Irvine said. “However, nothing could be further from the truth.”

The WoLF executive director pointed to the fact that Thomas, who won the 500 freestyle last Thursday evening, tied for fifth in the 200 freestyle Friday evening, and placed eighth in the 100 freestyle, formerly raced with men for three years.

“Lia is a man who didn’t do particularly well in men’s swimming competitions,” Irvine said. “This man decided to say that he is a woman in order to gain access to women’s sports.” (Read more from “Feminist Group Condemns NCAA For Ignoring Pleas Of Female Swimmers, Shielding Trans Swimmer” HERE)

How Can Ketanji Brown Jackson Rule In Sex Discrimination Cases If She Can’t Define ‘Woman’?

. . .At Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearing on Tuesday, Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee asked a seemingly innocuous question: “Can you provide a definition of the word ‘woman’?” . . .

It might seem like a question that goes more to politics than to the job of a judge, but when sex discrimination is frequently before the court — including as recently as last year in Bostock v. Clayton County — it behooves a judge to have some inkling about what “sex” means.

Blackburn’s questioning began with a reference to the 1996 case of United States v. Virginia, in which the Supreme Court struck down the Virginia Military Institute’s policy of only admitting men by a 7-1 vote, with Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg writing the opinion of the court. (You can watch the testimony here, beginning at about 13:10:00.) Blackburn quoted from that opinion, specifically to Ginsburg’s point that “[p]hysical differences between men and women, however, are enduring: ‘[T]he two sexes are not fungible; a community made up exclusively of one [sex] is different from a community composed of both.’”

“Do you agree with Justice Ginsburg,” Blackburn asked, “that there are physical differences between men and women that are enduring?” . . .

“I am not familiar with that particular quote or case,” she said, which strains credulity. Had she committed that line to memory? Probably not. But to be unfamiliar with a landmark case, the most consequential majority opinion Justice Ginsburg ever authored? United States v. Virginia was surely a topic of discussion in 1996, Jackson’s third year of law school, where she was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. It beggars belief to say she was unfamiliar with it entirely. ‘Catastrophic’ Bleed: Coroner Says Young Mother Died of COVID Shot

A coroner in England has concluded that a 34-year-old mother died from a “catastrophic” bleed on the brain caused by a COVID-19 vaccine.

Eight days after receiving an AstraZeneca shot, Kim Lockwood complained of an excruciating headache. About 17 hours after arriving at Rotherham Hospital in South Yorkshire, she was pronounced dead, BBC News reported.

She died one year ago, in March 2021, but the coroner said little was known at the time of her death about the link between the COVID-19 vaccine and the condition Lockwood suffered, Vaccine-Induced Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia, or VITT. . .

Lockwood’s husband, Damian, said she had complained of being in so much pain “her head felt like it was going to explode.” Her father, Wayne Merrill, said his daughters last words to him were that her headache was “actually killing her.” . . .

The family plans to pursue a medical negligence claim against Rotherham Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The trust said more is known now about the link between the vaccine and VITT and how to treat it, and all patients with low platelets are referred to hematologists. A spokeswoman for the trust, Susan Douglas, said lessons had been learned. Extra measures have been taken since Lockwood’s death, she said, such as adding ward audits. All Was Not Holy: Bombshell Hillsong Doc Details Scandals, Abuse, Church Cover Ups

Under celebrity pastor Carl Lentz, international megachurch Hillsong became trendy and influential, garnering splashy profiles in outlets such as GQ, and attracting stars such as Chris Pratt, Kendall Jenner, Nick Jonas and Justin Bieber.

But all was not holy. “Hillsong: A Megachurch Exposed,” a new three-part docuseries premiering March 24 on Discovery+, dives into the jaw-dropping history of the religious institution and its founder Brian Houston, who has been accused of everything from embezzling church funds to covering up child sex abuse. Houston, 68, stepped down as the church’s director in January (amid a court case accusing Houston of hiding his late father’s sexual abuse of children — all of which the church has denied), and he resigned for good March 23, after an internal misconduct investigation, which found Houston had behaved inappropriately towards two women. . .

Hillsong originated in Australia in 1983, founded by Houston, who grew up in dad Frank Houston’s Sydney-based Pentecostal church. When Houston was looking to expand into America, charismatic young pastor Lentz, now 43, came to his attention in 2010. . .

Ranin Karim, 35, alleges she had a five-month-long affair with Lentz that eventually led to Hillsong ousting him in 2020, as she exclusively told The Post in November 2020. In the documentary, Karim describes how they met in a park and exchanged phone numbers. When she asked for his last name, “He was like, ‘When people Google people . . . it’s not a good look. It’s better to get to know the person before you look them up.’ That was the weirdest answer I had ever heard,” she says. . .

Lentz was fired from Hillsong in November 2020, with Houston citing his “moral failures.” (Read more from “All Was Not Holy: Bombshell Hillsong Doc Details Scandals, Abuse, Church Cover Ups” HERE)

Children’s Hospital Instructs Kids To Bind Their Genitals And Solicit Sex Shops

Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland has been teaching “safe tucking” and “chest binding” to minors confused about their sex, even referring them to a local sex shop as a resource. Chest binding means putting pressure on breasts to hide them, and tucking means similarly treating male genitals.

Doernbecher, a division of Oregon Health and Science University, operates a “gender clinic” for “transgender and gender-nonconforming children and teens.” The “clinic” provides puberty suppression, hormones, and genital mutilation (under the name “gender-affirming surgery”) to children confused about their sex.

The hospital’s “Safe Tucking” handout describes ways for boys confused about their biology to hide their healthy organs. “Tucking can reduce any concerns you have about your body, how your clothes fit and how safe you feel in public,” the handout reads. . .

Doernbecher also offers a handout entitled “About Chest Binding.” This handout describes ways for girls confused about their sex to hide their feminine biology. . .

If that wasn’t enough, Doernbecher refers minors to sex shops as resources. In instructing boys where to find “tucking clothing,” the hospital boasted that one shop, Origami Customs, has been featured by Planned Parenthood. The business aims to be “anti-capitalist,” according to its website. (Read more from “Children’s Hospital Instructs Kids to Bind Their Genitals and Solicit Sex Shops” HERE)

‘We Are Just Guinea Pigs’: Women Describe Trauma of Transitioning as Teenagers

The mournful post on Reddit, “My consent was not informed,” details a grim future for a woman who pulled herself out of a transgender lifestyle: weekly injections, diabetes medication, pain, lack of energy, and “who knows what else” for the rest of her life.

“I was a child, allowed to destroy my body permanently, under the assurance that I can always change my mind, and that it’s a beautiful, harmless process,” wrote Lgbtcos in February. “The informed consent model is a lie, because we are just guinea pigs to a medical experiment, my life is permanently afflicted, and I was not informed.”

The missive was on the Detrans subreddit, which currently has 23,000 members. It caught the eye of Candace Sharpe, 22, who has undergone her own hellish surgeries. She answered the post.

“NO CHILD OR TEENAGER CAN CONSENT TO THE MEDICALIZATION, STERILIZATION, AND NONREVERSIBLE EFFECTS OF TESTOSTERONE AND/OR SURGERY,” Sharpe wrote. “This is an almost unbearable loss. I’m here with you and it hurts so bad.”

Social media is filled with a neverending stream of detransitioners who are trying to undo the effects of hormone therapy and invasive surgeries such as hysterectomies and mastectomies. March 12 was designated as Detrans Awareness Day, and social media was flooded with postings from people describing their efforts to leave the transgender lifestyle.

Governor Signs Law Protecting Unborn Babies With Down Syndrome From Abortion

On Monday, Republican West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice signed the “Unborn Child with Down Syndrome Protection and Education Act (S.B. 468)” into law. The law prohibits discriminatory abortions performed because of a disability, including Down syndrome. The date of the bill signing coincided with World Down Syndrome Day, which is recognized March 21.

The bill was passed by West Virginia state lawmakers this month, as Townhall covered. The law will go into effect in June.

Majorie Dannenfelser, the president of pro-life organization Susan B. Anthony List, published a statement praising West Virginia for enacting a law against discriminatory abortions. (Read more from “Governor Signs Law Protecting Unborn Babies With Down Syndrome From Abortion” HERE)

NCAA Swimmer Wants Rule Change After Missing Out on Finals to Transgender Athlete

A Virginia Tech swimmer blasted the NCAA over its rule allowing transgender women to compete against biological women after she came up short in a championship qualifying race that was dominated by University of Pennsylvania transgender swimmer Lia Thomas.

Reka Gyorgy leveled the criticism in a post to her private Instagram account after missing the cut on Thursday to compete in the finals of the 500 free at the NCAA Championships, Fox News reported.

“It doesn’t promote our sport in a good way and I think it is disrespectful against the biologically female swimmers who are competing in the NCAA,” Gyorgy said of the rule that has received considerable scrutiny since Thomas has smashed records in [his] first season competing at the collegiate level as a transgender woman.

Gyorgy also placed blame on Thomas for her failure to qualify. The Virginia Tech swimmer said she felt the last spot to get into the final was taken from her “because of the NCAA’s decision to let someone who is not a biological female compete.”

Thomas finished with a 4:33.82 in the preliminaries and ultimately took home the national women’s 500 free title when [he] won the finals race with a time of 4:33.24. (Read more from “NCAA Swimmer Wants Rule Change After Missing Out on Finals to Transgender Athlete” HERE)
