By Fox News. A New Zealand family was shocked to find a camera hidden in the smoke alarm of their Airbnb during a vacation in Ireland, which the father of the clan discovered as he was connecting his cell phone to the Wi-Fi.

On April 1, Nealie Barker took to Facebook to share the frightening tale, detailing that she, her husband Andrew and their five children are “avid” Airbnb users who “love” the platform — though the hidden camera spooked them into finding alternative lodging for the duration of their trip.

Barker shared two photos to the social platform, one of the surreptitious smoke alarm and a smiling shot of her kids, which her husband was able to take from the concealed camera. . .

Though the family had paid for the Airbnb in full, the mother felt “immediately protective” of her children being caught on camera and decided that it would be best if they spent the night elsewhere, as per New Zealand Herald. . .

According to the home sharing platform’s official policies, hosts are required to inform guests if there is a surveillance device in or around their property — even if it’s not turned on for use. By Stuff. They had paid in full and were due to stay three days. When her husband, who is an IT consultant, went to connect his phone to the wifi network, he noticed a device called “IP camera”.

“He scanned that device’s ports and found the live video feed. We were all watching ourselves on his mobile phone,” Nealie Barker said.

The camera was found in the lounge, which Barker said had a view of the lounge, dining and kitchen area. . .

Four Democratic Senators Vow to Protect Kittens. Here’s How They Voted Regarding Unborn Children.

As The Washington Free Beacon notes, Senators Jeff Merkley (D-OR), Cory Booker (D-NJ), Gary Peters (D-MI), and Tom Udall (D-NM) co-sponsored the KITTEN Act of 2019, which was introduced on March 7 after it was revealed that between 2003 and 2015, the U.S. government conducted experiments in which scientists euthanized dogs and cats from overseas and fed their remains to laboratory cats for research. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s lab in Maryland reportedly purchased 400 dogs from Colombia, Brazil and Vietnam, and over 100 cats from China and Ethiopia for the research, according to NBC News, which added that not only were dog remains fed to cats but cat remains were injected into mice.

But on February 25, prior to the introduction of the Kitten Act, the Born Alive Abortions Survivors Protection Act came up for a vote before the Senate, which needed 60 votes for cloture in order to proceed, but failed; the vote got 53 yeas and 44 nays. Merkley, Booker, Peters and Udall all voted against cloture.

The Free Beacon quoted Lauren Fine, spokeswoman for Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) saying, “There is nothing more valuable than human life, and as a society we must defend it at every stage. It’s unfathomable that Democrats can find time to defend the lives of kittens, but at the same time are vehemently opposed to even the consideration of legislation designed to protect infants born alive during an abortion from being killed.” . . .

The Free Beacon also quoted a GOP aide in the Senate asserting, “When Democrats want to talk about ending ‘taxpayer-funded kitten slaughter,’ they say it’s just common sense. Military Providing ‘Sex-Change’ Treatment for Thousands of Minor Dependents

The number of military children receiving transgender-related care within the military health system increased significantly following a Defense Department policy change that gave them access to non-surgical treatment, according to a report published Monday in JAMA Pediatrics.

Between October 2009 and April 2017, 2,533 young people out of the roughly 1.7 million eligible for medical care through the military health system received transgender-associated care, increasing from 135 in all of 2010 to 528 in the first four months of 2017 alone.

In October 2016, the DoD began providing coverage to dependents and military retirees for mental health counseling and hormone therapy for gender dysphoria, the clinical diagnosis for those for whom identifying with their birth gender causes significant distress.

According to the study, the majority of youths seeking transgender treatment under the military health program were born female (65 percent) and the median associated age for gender-related treatment was 17 years old. But roughly a quarter of the children seeking gender-related care were younger than 14.

While the policy went into effect in late 2016, patients previously could seek treatment by requesting a waiver. Under the policy, military medical facilities and Tricare provide hormone treatment and counseling. Surgery is authorized only when deemed medically necessary, such as in cases of ambiguous genitalia. Transgender McDonalds Employee Claims to Be Victim of Discrimination

By Breitbart. A transgender McDonald’s employee filed a lawsuit against the company claiming to be a victim of repeated instances of discriminatory behavior by colleagues.

Joselyn Kelly, who was hired by McDonald’s this year to work as a supervisor overseeing multiple McDonald’s locations in Mississippi, claimed staffers acted in a discriminatory way after Kelly told McDonald’s franchise owners Elizabeth and Andrew Smith about being transgender, according to documents obtained by the Clarion-Ledger. . .

The suit claimed that Kelly was “forced to resign” over the traumatizing actions of the other employees. Kelly then filed a discrimination charge against the Smiths with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

The EEOC then followed up with Kelly, informing the McDonald’s employee of the right to sue the company. Kelly subsequently filed the suit on March 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi. . .

Other transgender individuals have claimed discrimination against others for not using proper pronouns. Man Sues McDonald’s, Alleges Discrimination Because ‘She’s’ Transgender

KU Offers ‘Angry White Male’ Course

The University of Kansas is offering a course on angry white men and the role of “dominant and subordinate masculinities” as they connect to “rights-based movements of women, people of color, homosexuals and trans individuals.”

“Angry White Male Studies” (HUM 365), which is being offered during the fall 2019 semester, will explore “the deeper sources of this emotional state while evaluating recent manifestations of male anger” in Europe and America from 1950 to present, according to the course description. . .

Christopher E. Forth, the Dean’s Professor of Humanities and Professor of History at KU, is listed as the course instructor. Forth has considerable history studying masculinities and European cultural history and has “Cultural History, Gender and Sexuality, the Body and the Senses” listed as teaching interests. Judge Issues Ruling in Case of Teen Who Refused Vaccination Over Abortion Concerns

A Catholic teenager who has never received a vaccination for the chicken pox out of moral objection to its apparent ties to abortion is not allowed to go back to school, a judge ruled Tuesday.

“It’s my understanding that the vaccine is derived from aborted fetal cells,” said plaintiff Jerome Kunkel, according to WLWT. “And it is against my religion. Abortion is against my religion.” . . .

The teenager was banned from attending classes and extracurricular functions, such as athletic events, after a chicken pox outbreak occurred at his high school Assumption Academy in Walton, Kentucky.

The Kunkel family did not vaccinate Jerome due to moral objections after finding out about a link between aborted fetal matter and the chicken pox vaccine. As noted by KHN Morning Briefing, “The Varicella vaccine, specifically, is derived from the cell lines of two fetuses that were electively aborted in the 1960s.” . . .

“Chickenpox is raging through Assumption Academy in the Boone County city of Walton. Graham Allen Shreds Alyssa Milano After She Quotes the Bible to Justify Abortion

On Monday, [Alyssa] Milano posted a bizarre tweet in which she expressed her love for God, claimed that scientific facts “override” her personal beliefs, and then quoted the Bible–all to advocate abortion.

“Show me the place in the Bible, chick, where it says anything about Jesus being pro-murdering children,” demanded “Rant Nation” host Graham Allen on Tuesday. “You immoral, illogical, confused, disrespectful, soulless people!”

“Our future generations will look back on us as immoral savages for even having this conversation in the first place because baby lives matter,” he continued. “And it’s immoral Hollywood elitists like you [Alyssa Milano] that disregard the very foundation of what America, Jesus, Christianity, and everything stands for in the first place. Abortion is murder. Shut your mouth and actually do something that contributes to society….”

Christian University Reverses Ban on Same-Sex Relationships, Again

The prominent Christian institution Azusa Pacific University (APU) has once again lifted the ban on allowing public same-sex relationships on campus after reversing its previous decision to lift the ban last year.

According to Christianity Today, the school altered the code of student conduct last week to allow “romanticized” same-sex on campus last week. APU provost Mark Stanton said that while the code has been changed, the school’s values as a Christian university have not changed.

“APU is an open-enrollment institution, which does not require students to be Christian to attend, and the handbook conveys our commitment to treating everyone with Christ-like care and civility,” said Stanton. “Our values are unchanged, and the APU community remains unequivocally biblical in our Christian evangelical identity.”

The code of conduct did not expressly discriminate against LGBTQ individuals and endorsed a hardline stance on general biblical morality by prohibiting premarital sex and other sexual improprieties. Despite that, the LGBT student group Brave Commons worked in concert with the student government to have the ban reversed. Both groups demanded more clarity regarding the types of punishments such individuals would face. . .

In November 2018, APU lifted the ban on same-sex relationships only to reverse the decision soon afterward upon several board members criticizing the school for losing its orthodox principles. 61-Year-Old Gives Birth to Own Grandchild for ‘Married’ Gay Son

A 61-year-old Nebraska grandmother has given birth to her homosexual son’s IVF baby.

Cecile Eledge, 61, served as a surrogate mother for her homosexual son and sperm donor Matthew Eledge, 32. Eledge is in a homosexual relationship with Elliot Dougherty, 29. Baby Uma Louise Dougherty-Eledge was born without surgical intervention on March 25, 2019. . .

According to BuzzFeed News, Dougherty and Eledge spent $40,000 on the In Vitro Fertilization procedure, a project that lasted two years before it resulted in Uma’s birth. Of the 24 eggs Yribe donated, eleven were “injected with Matthew’s sperm.” The result was seven embryos. After genetic testing, four of the embryos were killed. Of the remaining three, one was successfully implanted in Cecile Eledge and two were put into storage. . .

Conservative commentator Rod Dreher strongly criticized the whole affair, highlighting its disturbing aspects, in a column for American Conservative. . .

“The taboo against incest is ancient, and nearly universal,” he wrote. “These people violated it multiple times, using technology — and no sex was involved. They mixed the egg of Dougherty’s sister with his husband’s sperm. In custom — ‘custom,’ ha ha! — Dougherty’s sister is also considered to be the sister of his spouse, Eledge,” Dreher continued. Mom Fights off Mountain Lion That Was Attacking Her 7-Year-Old Son

By The Blaze. A Canadian mother didn’t hesitate to fight off a mountain lion that she found attacking her 7-year-old son in the family’s yard in Lake Cowichan, British Columbia.

The boy’s father, Kevin Bromley, told Global News that his wife, Chelsea Bromley, saved their son’s life when she jumped on top of the wild cat that had pinned her son to the ground.

“She jumped on top of this thing, but it just wouldn’t let go of Zack’s forearm, so she then had to pry this cougar’s jaw open,” Kevin Bromley said. “She told me she couldn’t do it for two or three seconds, but then she screamed ‘help’ and it just let go and ran off. And there was blood everywhere.” . . .

On Friday afternoon, Chelsea reportedly heard some commotion outside her home where Zack was playing. The Bromleys live in a gated community near a waterfront.

Mother of Boy Mauled in Vancouver Island Cougar Attack Helped Fight Animal Off

By Global News. Seven-year-old Zack sustained injuries to his head, neck and arm in the attack, which happened Friday afternoon just outside of town while the boy’s mother was inside. . .

Bromley said Zack had gone to the waterfront outside their home, which is in a gated community on the west side of town near the Lakeview Park campground when a small cougar came at him. . .

Bromley said the hoodie Zack was wearing helped protect him from the cougar’s thrashing, but the animal then clamped its jaws on the boy’s forearm. That’s when his mom, Chelsea, heard the struggle and came rushing to her son’s rescue.

“She jumped on top of this thing, but it just wouldn’t let go of Zack’s forearm so she then had to pry this cougar’s jaw open,” Bromley said.
