DOJ Refuses to Release Biden Administration Plan to Intervene in 2022 Election; GOP Sues Elections Board for Allegedly Breaking Mail-in Balloting, Election Observer Laws

By Breitbart. The Department of Justice (DOJ) is refusing to release 15 pages of documents explaining the Biden administration’s strategy to implement a “voter access” policy that is being coordinated with left-wing groups just weeks before the 2022 election.

In March 2021, President Joe Biden signed Executive Order 14019, “Promoting Access to Voting.” . . .

As Byron York of the Washington Examiner notes:

So the strategic plan, the document that would give the world some information on what the administration is doing to enact Biden’s order, remains a secret. But that’s not all. The Justice Department is withholding lots of other information, as well.

One troubling clue did make it past Justice Department censors. On July 12, 2021, the Justice Department held a “listening session” with outside activists working on voting rights. The group included dozens of people, all of them from left-leaning groups. There were 10 from the American Civil Liberties Union, five from the Campaign Legal Center, three from Demos, three from the Southern Poverty Law Center, five from the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights, two from Black Lives Matter, and many others. The list would not reassure anyone hoping that the Justice Department is working in a scrupulously nonpartisan way. But of course, we don’t really know what the department is doing because the administration is keeping it a secret.

GOP Sues North Carolina Elections Board for Allegedly Breaking Mail-in Balloting, Election Observer Laws

By The Federalist. The North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP), along with the chair of the Clay County Republican Party and the Republican National Committee (RNC), filed a lawsuit against the state’s Board of Elections (NCSBE) on Friday for allegedly “unlawful actions restricting party election observers and extending the delivery deadline for absentee ballots.”

According to the lawsuit, the plaintiffs accuse the NCSBE of “undermining both transparency and the rule of law by blocking the right of at-large election observers to have full access to voting places and unilaterally extending the deadline for the return of absentee-by-mail ballots.”

“While Chapter 163 of the North Carolina General Statutes grants certain powers and duties to the NCSBE, those powers and duties are also limited by the specific election laws,” the lawsuit reads. “As such, the NCSBE is not the final arbiter of election law in North Carolina; rather, it must exercise its authority in accordance with the statutes that grant it such power. Recent decisions of the NCSBE, however, have flouted its authority under the law.”

The Republican groups go on to note that under North Carolina state law, “in addition to voting place-specific election observers, the chair of each political party in each county can designate up to ten (10) at-large election observers ‘who are residents of that county who may attend any voting place in that county’” and “‘[t]he chair of each political party in the State shall have the right to designate up to 100 additional at-large observers who are residents of the State who may attend any voting place in the State.’” (Read more from “GOP Sues North Carolina Elections Board for Allegedly Breaking Mail-in Balloting, Election Observer Laws” HERE)

Woman Arrested for Threatening Judge in Trump Documents Case

A Texas woman has been arrested for allegedly making threats against the federal judge who granted former President Donald Trump’s request for a special master to review documents FBI agents seized from Mar-a-Lago.

In a criminal complaint, the FBI accused Tiffani Shea Gish of Houston, Texas, with leaving several threatening voicemails for U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who is presiding over Trump’s case against the Department of Justice. Gish is charged with making threats to influence a federal official and transmitting in interstate or foreign commerce communications containing threats to injure another person.

According to the affidavit by FBI Special Agent Amy Avila, on Sept. 3, 2022, Judge Cannon turned over three voicemails she received containing threatening messages to Supervisory Deputy United States Marshal Michael Witkowski.

The messages were left on Cannon’s answering machine on Sept. 1 by an individual who identified herself as “Evelyn Salt” and claimed to be “in charge of nuclear for the United States government.” Excerpts from the voicemails state that Trump was “disqualified” and “marked for assassination” and accused Cannon of “helping him.”

“So, here’s what we’re going to do, we’re going to let you disarm f***ing live nukes off your coffee table … how about you sit on an electric chair a couple times over … you think you’ve got the magical ability to pop up from the dead … pretending that you’re on the team of justice,” a message left for Cannon said. Justice Department OKs One of Trump’s Picks to Review Mar-a-Lago Docs

The Justice Department is on board with one of Donald Trump’s picks to independently review documents seized by the FBI at Mar-a-Lago last month, according to a new legal filing submitted by the agency.

DOJ lawyers, in the Monday night filing, said along with the two ex-judges the feds recommended, they’d also be open to the appointment of Raymond Dearie, the former chief judge of the federal court in the Eastern District of New York.

The special master appointment would sift through records recovered from the former president’s Florida estate on Aug. 8. The feds and Trump’s lawyers have disagreed over the exact role of the independent third-party and which documents they should review.

Dearie, who is on senior active status, has signaled he “could perform the work expeditiously” if appointed by US District Judge Aileen Cannon, the Justice Department said.

The DOJ’s picks to review the trove of docs were retired Manhattan judge Barbara Jones or retired federal appeals court judge in DC Thomas Griffith, who was appointed by ex-President George W. Bush. (Read more from “Justice Department Oks One of Trump’s Picks to Review Mar-a-Lago Docs” HERE)

‘Softer on Radical Islam Than…Republicans’: Tulsi Gabbard Condemns Democratic Party for Attacking MAGA Movement

A former Democratic Representative joined Fox News host Jesse Watters in condemning her party for calling former President Donald Trump’s supporters “anti-American” Monday evening.

“NBC News suggested Trump voters are a bigger threat than al-Qaida on 9/11. How did the vice president of the United States respond? That she will defend against all enemies foreign and domestic,” Watters said. “That was a declaration of war. Make no mistake. The Democratic Party, the media and obviously the FBI have designated the Republican Party as a terrorist group and believe it’s their patriotic duty as Americans to extinguish the threat.”

Former Democratic Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, a former presidential candidate, denounced the rhetoric from her party, which has escalated since the Aug. 8 raid on Mar-a-Lago, the Florida estate owned by Trump. Liberals celebrated the raid, while conservatives accused the Biden administration of an “abuse of power.”

“I, like some of my fellow service members, I enlisted because of those jihadist attacks on 9/11, to support and defend our constitution to protect our fellow Americans and to go after and kill those who attacked us on that day,” Gabbard said. “And it is despicable and outrageous to hear these people, to hear these people say the things that they are saying, comparing our fellow Americans to terrorists. Actually worse. They literally said they are worse than al-Qaeda terrorists.”

“This just shows how far they are willing to go,” Gabbard continued. “Pushing our country to the brink of civil war. Demonizing, targeting our fellow Americans as worse than al-Qaeda terrorists. All to hold on to their power. That’s all they care about.” (Read more from “‘Softer on Radical Islam Than…Republicans’: Tulsi Gabbard Condemns Democratic Party for Attacking MAGA Movement” HERE)

Military Personnel Are Struggling to Get By as Pentagon Budget Falls Short

The U.S. military is falling short on compensation for service members as greater numbers are feeling the effects of soaring costs of living.

Inflation in the U.S. stood at 8.5% in July, and high energy and transportation costs will likely continue to drive up prices of food, rent, utilities and other items that stretch the financial resources of Americans across the country. While military leaders acknowledge that some servicemembers are struggling to remain afloat, the Department of Defense (DOD) has cut pay for some and encouraged others to reach out to federal assistance programs as next year’s budget requests fall short.

“With inflation affecting everything from gas prices to groceries to rent, some Soldiers and their families are finding it harder to get by on the budgets they’ve set and used before,” Sgt. Maj. of the Army Michael A. Grinston said in August. Grinston outlined several DOD resources available to soldiers as well as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also called food stamps.

Reserve and National Guard troops experienced food insecurity at almost twice the rate of the general population regardless of other demographic factors, data from the U.S. Census Bureau in June 2021 showed, the Washington Post reported. Record deployments to deal with natural disasters, COVID-19 vaccine administration, civil unrest and other duties in 2020 drew troops away from their civilian jobs, slashing income for some.

Roughly 23,000 military personnel received benefits from the food stamps program in 2013, the last year for which complete data is available, according to the Government Accountability Office, and the DOD does not have a method for consistently obtaining data from USDA to track food stamp consumption.

Did Trump’s Legal Team Stick the ‘Dagger’ Into the Heart of the Biden DOJ’s Mar-a-Lago Case?

Former President Donald Trump’s lawyers might be going for the legal jugular in the ongoing fight between the Biden Justice Department and the former president over classified information seized from his Mar-a-Lago home on Aug. 8. . .

The latest motion filed by Trump’s legal team seeks to further block the Justice Department from reviewing the documents. It also brought the heat in their 21-page filing that torched the legal justification for the FBI’s raid and the seizure of documents from the property (via The Guardian):

Lawyers for Donald Trump asked a federal judge on Monday to deny the justice department’s request to regain access to some documents the FBI seized from the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort and restart the criminal investigation into his unauthorized retention of government documents.

The response from the Trump legal team reiterated that it wanted a so-called special master to review all of the seized materials, asking the judge to uphold her earlier order barring prosecutors from using the documents in a criminal investigation until the process was complete.

But in the 21-page filing, Trump’s lawyers interpreted the Presidential Records Act in sometimes unusual ways, and accused the justice department of criminalizing what they considered a dispute between Trump and the National Archives about how documents should be handled.

Montana Health Officials: Individuals Cannot Change Biological Sex on Birth Certificate

Montana health officials have adopted a new rule that individuals cannot change their biological sex on a birth certificate even if they undergo sexual reassignment surgery.

The new rule comes after a judge temporarily struck down a similar law in April, which the state restored in May, the Associated Press (AP) reported.

The initial law had a provision that allowed individuals to change their sex on a birth certificate following a sex reassignment procedure. That law was passed by the Montana legislature and signed by Gov. Greg Gianfore (R) in 2021

On Friday, the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) changed that provision of the law, stating that individuals cannot change their sex on a birth certificate unless under a rare circumstance – such as a data entry error.

An individual’s sex on a birth certificate can only be listed as male or female, according to the law. (Read more from “Montana Health Officials: Individuals Cannot Change Biological Sex on Birth Certificate” HERE)

Buttigieg ‘Interested’ in California Ban on New Gas Cars as He Weighs ‘a National Policy’

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg remarked on Friday that he is “interested” in an upcoming California ban on new gas-powered cars as the Biden administration weighs nationwide electric vehicle policies.

Last month, the California Air Resources Board issued new rules requiring 35% of new vehicles to produce zero emissions by 2026 — a standard that will progressively rise to 100% by 2035. During an interview with Fox 11 Los Angeles, Buttigieg argued that a rapid transition to electric cars is required to effectively combat climate change.

“It’s interesting to see how the states are trying to go above and beyond what we’re doing at the federal level,” Buttigieg commented. “I’m really interested in these developments, while we continue to set a national policy that’s the baseline for all of this. We need to move in the direction of electric vehicles.”

California unveiled the new benchmarks days before the Golden State requested that residents lower energy usage during peak hours in the interest of averting power grid failure. Among other actions, officials asked that citizens refrain from charging electric vehicles. Prominent policymakers and industry leaders, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, have warned that the rushed adoption of renewable energy solutions could induce economic harm. Biden Tells Americans They ‘Owe It’ to 9/11 Victims, Insisting the U.S. Needs to Be More United Despite Attacking Trump Supporters

By Townhall. Joe Biden pushed Americans once again to stand up for democracy on the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

He told the crowd that Americans “owe it” to the victims of 9/11 to defend democracy.

“We have an obligation, a duty, a responsibility to defend, preserve and protect our democracy… the very democracy that defends the right to freedom that those terrorists on 9/11 sough to bury in the burning fire and smoke and ash. And that takes a commitment on the part of all of us,” Biden said.

This comes 10 days after the president called not only former President Trump, but his supporters a “threat to democracy.”

However Biden has since tried to save face, walking back his comments claiming that he actually does not feel that Trump supporters are a threat to the U.S. (Read more from “Biden Tells Americans They ‘Owe It’ to 9/11 Victims, Insisting the U.S. Needs to Be More United” HERE)

LOL: Kamala Harris Claims the Border Is ‘Secure’

Vice President Kamala Harris assured that the U.S.-Mexico border is “secure” during a “Meet the Press” interview released Sunday.

The vice president told NBC News host Chuck Todd that the “border is secure” and pointed fingers at former President Donald Trump’s administration for the currently “broken immigration system.”

“There is no question that we have to do what the president and I asked Congress to do. The first request we made:pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship. The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system and particular[ly] over the last four years before we came in and it needs to be fixed.”

Migrant apprehension numbers have nearly doubled since President Joe Biden assumed office in January 2021. As of July, Border Patrol agents encountered 1.9 million migrants at the southern border in the fiscal-year-to-date (FYTD) 2022, which begins in October, according to Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Agents apprehended 199,976 migrants in July, slightly fewer than the 207,933 that arrived in June. In 2021, 1.73 million migrants in total were apprehended at the border.
