. . .It was only June when unvaccinated Canadians were finally allowed to leave the country, for reasons unclear to anyone. The vaccine doesn’t prevent transmission, so how did it make sense to keep the unvaccinated behind the frozen curtain? It didn’t.

But that’s Canada. It’s completely lost the plot with COVID and chucked all its previously freedom-loving ideals out the nearest window, eh? America wouldn’t behave like that, right?

Except we are.

Tennis player Novak Djokovic couldn’t travel to America to compete in the US Open in August because he’s unvaccinated. No foreigner may enter the United States without being fully vaccinated. Unless, of course, they walk across our border. That’s right. If you’re visiting, stay away with your COVID-infested self. If you’re trying to stay here forever, bring that COVID right in.

If you’re looking for consistency in COVID-19 policies, you can stop right now. None of it has ever made sense. The fractured trust between Americans and our institutions will be immeasurable. What’s Extremist Is the Way Biden’s Handlers Are Steering the Democrat Party

I came to America as an immigrant, now a citizen. The stories of the American Revolution absolutely fascinated me, especially as a little girl who came from a culture of corruption and oppression. I saw America’s founding fathers as men and women who risked everything for freedom. . .

That curiosity was missing from Joe Biden’s recent “Soul of a Nation” speech. No cultured curiosity scratched beneath the surface of what’s driving division in our country. There was no vision inspiring people to search deep within their souls for a common human belonging. Instead, President Biden’s words drummed the language of war, language rooted in harsh polarities that leave no oxygen for common ground, a necessary foundation of peace-building.

What deeply disturbed me in hearing President Biden give his “Soul of a Nation” speech wasn’t that he didn’t understand what extremism meant. I’ve been hearing his and his cabinet’s blunders on that all along.

Just ahead of his speech, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre gave a press briefing in which she said, “When you are not with what majority of Americans are, then, you know, that is extreme. That is an extreme way of thinking.” In other words, it’s “extreme” to think differently. More to the point, it’s now considered “extreme” to have a different opinion than Democrats.

Twenty years after 9/11 and a year after Biden disastrously handed Afghanistan to the Taliban, I know our elected leaders are still uneducated about extremists and ideological warfare. They were too lazy to understand Islamist extremism then — handing an entire nation and the fate of our allies over to the very people we went to war with — and they’re too unwilling to study the broader nature of extremism now. The Transgender Movement Isn’t Just Targeting Kids, It’s Targeting Families

Evidence continues to mount that a concerted effort is underway between major hospitals and public school systems to indoctrinate children with transgender ideology and push harmful, sometimes irreversible, medical procedures on minors — sometimes without the knowledge or consent of parents.

The point of the indoctrination, though, isn’t only to create more “gender-nonconforming” students. It’s to break down family structures and parental authority. The goal isn’t simply to teach and encourage transgenderism in our schools. It’s to lay claim to the students themselves, over and against their parents and families, for purposes that go far beyond the promotion of gender identity. After all, you can’t very well reshape society according to your utopian vision if something as solid as a family is standing in the way.

The solution is to break down the family. Most recently, Christopher Rufo reported this week that the largest children’s hospital in Chicago has partnered with local school districts to promote a radical transgender agenda, including sexually explicit materials that push “kink,” “BDSM,” and “trans-friendly” sex toys for children.

In his customary muckraking fashion, Rufo has obtained insider documents from Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago detailing a collaboration between transgender activists at the hospital and public school administrators throughout greater Chicago. The primary training document, a presentation titled “Beyond Binary: Gender in Schools,” encourages teachers and school administrators to promote “gender diversity” in their districts by affirming students who mistakenly believe they are members of the opposite sex, teaching a “non-binary understanding of gender” in classrooms, and aiming to disrupt “entrenched [gender] norms in western society” in hopes of creating a more “gender creative” world. Satanists’ Prayer Stunt Isn’t About Free Speech. It’s About Silencing Christians

The Satanic Temple, an organization that uses religious trappings for the purpose of undermining constitutionally protected freedoms, sued the city of Boston last year, seeking to force it to allow the temple to lead a “prayer” before a city council meeting. The district court dismissed some of the temple’s claims, including that prayers before the council constitute private protected speech.

But after the U.S. Supreme Court this year found that excluding a Christian flag from a Boston city-owned flagpole violated the First Amendment free speech rights of the group that wanted to fly the flag, the Satanic Temple asked the district court to reconsider its earlier decision, asserting the Supreme Court’s ruling supports the temple’s free speech claim. But does it really?

No, it does not.

That legislative prayer constitutes government speech is settled law. The Satanic Temple’s focus on a single prong of a multiprong test is clearly wrong. Further, the temple’s alleged “prayers” are inconsistent with the recognized purpose of legislative prayer.

Legislative prayer offered at public meetings is government speech. The Supreme Court determined years ago that prayers opening government meetings are an act of the government. Justice Sandra Day O’Connor analyzed and rejected the idea that prayers opening a council meeting constitute private speech, noting there was not “a single case in which a legislative prayer was treated as individual or private expression.” (Read more from “Satanists’ Prayer Stunt Isn’t About Free Speech. Joe Biden, Don’t Repeat Your Afghanistan Blunders in Iraq

No one who’s been following the news in Iraq since last year’s inconclusive parliamentary elections should be surprised to see violence currently erupting in Baghdad.

For months, various political factions have jostled unsuccessfully for a governing majority. Muqtada al Sadr, the volatile cleric who fueled much of the bloodshed in Iraq after the U.S. invasion, controls the most seats but not enough to form a governing coalition. This past weekend, he decided to turn up the heat.

On Saturday, al Sadr set a 72-hour time limit to resolve the crisis and insisted that all political actors leave the public stage to give way to a new generation. If this failed, he suggested violence would be the last recourse — including the forcible closure of Iraq’s oil fields. On Monday, he made good on the threat as the Green Zone erupted in fighting, and some of Sadr’s followers occupied oil facilities. While Sadr claims he is trying to restore order, he has clearly demonstrated the capability to create violent chaos in Baghdad, and what comes next is anyone’s guess.

While Americans have excellent reason to be wary of the endless political dysfunction and endemic corruption in Iraq, this threat brings into sharp relief the twin realities that demand attention: the potential for a dramatically heightened global energy crisis and the violent malign influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Some three and a quarter million barrels of oil a day flow out of Iraq. Major political disruptions will carry over and cause significant supply disruptions just as the world continues to struggle with international restrictions on Russian oil. Zuckerberg’s Admission Of FBI Meddling In 2020 Election Is Even Bigger Than It Seems

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s admission last week that the FBI pushed the social media giant to censor Russian misinformation — and thus the Hunter Biden laptop story, as that’s how the agency and Democrats characterized it — shortly before the November 2020 election is but a breadcrumb of a bigger scandal: the widespread interference by the FBI in the 2020 presidential election with the potential that the bureau coordinated its efforts with the Biden campaign.

When asked during a Thursday podcast with Joe Rogan how Facebook handles controversial news, such as the Hunter Biden laptop story, Zuckerberg stopped his host to provide a backdrop to Facebook’s decision to decrease distribution of the scandal. . .

First, it is implausible to believe Facebook is the only Big Tech company contacted by the FBI with a warning about Russian disinformation and the bureau’s expectation being that tech executives would then censor the Biden scandal. Rather, it is only reasonable to believe the FBI issued similar false warnings to Twitter and other outlets.

And while Facebook only limited distribution, Twitter completely censored the story, preventing it from being shared at all on the platform. Twitter also temporarily locked Trump’s campaign account to prevent the then-president from sharing the laptop story and suspended the New York Post’s account. . .

A second component to the scandal concerns the FBI’s interactions (or lack thereof) with the Biden campaign. According to John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of the Delaware laptop repair shop where Hunter Biden abandoned his laptop in mid-2019, the former’s father approached the FBI on October 8, 2019, on his behalf to alert the FBI to the laptop’s existence. Shia LaBeouf’s Conversion Is The Story Of A Real Encounter With God, Not A Marketing Ploy

Up until last week, there were few positive search results for Shia LaBeouf’s name on any search engine website. The actor has had a slew of mishaps, several ending up with police officers and inside courtrooms. Now, he claims that his preparation for and role in a new movie on the life of the Catholic priest and St. Padre Pio has converted him to the Catholic faith.

Some might propose that LaBeouf’s “conversion” is a ploy to promote his movie since he was such a down-and-out actor. His career was nearly over, so maybe he is willing to do anything to return to the spotlight. There are several reasons why this is not probable. Among the top two reasons is the depth and intricacy of his explanation of his conversion along with the literal transformation of his life. . .

Now, he says he is a changed man. A judge ruled that he would have to attend weekly meetings for his anger management as well as be monitored for his drinking problem. Simultaneously, he was approached about the possibility of playing Padre Pio. So he got in his truck and began living in the parking lot of a seminary (an institution where men study to be priests) to learn more about the Catholic faith and the famous saint.

At the time that he was asked to play Padre Pio, Lebouf claims that “he had a gun on the table. It was all over for me.” Meeting Catholics who were authentically living out the faith and appeared to have intimacy with the person of Jesus Christ made him curious about the faith at first and later convinced him that he misunderstood who Jesus was. . .

Historically speaking, what happened to LaBeouf has happened to countless Christians. From St. Augustine to St. Francis and all the way back to St. Paul. Jesus often becomes most real and life-changing when people are at their absolute lowest point. He offers a way out for the sinner who thinks that everything is over. This is a major reason why LaBeouf’s story is circulating so quickly and why it can be trusted as authentic. Parents Must Have Tough Conversations With Their Kids to Counter a Progressive Onslaught

As a former homeschooled student and now a homeschool dad, I know first-hand the importance of sound education and the delicate balance of approaching difficult topics with my children.

First things first, families need to be grounded in what the Declaration of Independence calls the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God, meaning God’s law is true, supreme, and immutable. In today’s society, children are taught that it is acceptable, and often encouraged, to redefine nature’s law. To “create your own truth” and go against the foundational truths that this country was built upon. Being rooted in the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God is the starting point, the catapult, for addressing difficult topics that our kids are facing on a daily basis. . .

Gone are the days when our God-given body parts were the determining factor of our sexual identity. Leftist agendas are now pushing that your sex is determined at birth, but your gender is not determined until you are old enough to start showing either feminine or masculine tendencies. Parents are being told to keep their children’s biological sex secret until their child is old enough to decide their own identity. This blatantly goes against the laws of nature.

When teaching our kids about their sexuality, we can ask, what does nature’s law tell us about sexuality? It is as simple as returning to God’s original design and purpose for humanity. We can explain this to our children by highlighting the responsibilities of males and females and their benefits to society. We can also educate our children about their bodies and the benefits of their sex. Yes, there are biological differences that match the Laws of Nature and Nature’s God. Our job as parents is to continually affirm to children who they are and how they were made and to teach them to know the truth about themselves, and that it isn’t something you can just change. When our minds don’t match the physical world, it is our minds that need to be healed, not our bodies. Just as physical laws are immutable, so too are natural laws. Feds’ Routine Tyranny Suggests They Aren’t as Afraid of the American People as They Should Be

Alan Moore, author and social critic, asserts in “V for Vendetta” that “People shouldn’t be afraid of their government. Governments should be afraid of their people.” When a young director in Karachi, Pakistan, adapted “Vendetta” for a live theatrical performance 10 years ago, he repeated the line during the play’s curtain call to raucous applause from the audience. Moore’s simple words reflect poignantly the human desire to be free from government tyranny.

Moore’s statement is widely embraced in the United States, where “the people” are constitutionally vested with power over government. It is doubtful, however, that today’s permanent bureaucracy in Washington, D.C., would concur.

This philosophical divide between the American people and their government is an important one. Should the American people be afraid of the U.S. government? Of course not. Yet a new army of IRS agents that will be used to audit middle-class Americans and a partisan DOJ and FBI that routinely ignore leftist violence while throwing the book at MAGA voters strongly suggest otherwise.

Does the federal government still work for American citizens, or have American citizens become nothing more than subjects expected to obey Washington’s bureaucratic regime? For many Americans, the answer to that question is glaringly obvious.

After Chris Wray’s FBI launched an unprecedented raid of President Trump’s private residence at Mar-a-Lago on Aug. 8, the director’s immediate concern was not his agency’s appearance of impropriety but the denouncement of his lackeys’ behavior by the American public.
