Electric Car Castrates Man on Biden’s Watch

The American people got a terrifying glimpse into the tech-driven childless dystopia President Joe Biden and his liberal allies are striving to achieve after a urologist in Texas last week performed what is believed to be the world’s first vasectomy powered by an electric vehicle.

Dr. Christopher Yang congratulated himself on Twitter for using his $70,000 Rivian electric truck to power the castration-esque procedure after his clinic in Austin (where else?) suffered a power outage. “Power in clinic went out, patient didn’t want to reschedule cause he already had time off,” Yang wrote. “Procedure went great!”

This is the future liberals want. Biden is already plotting a “nationwide shift away from oil” in an effort to combat so-called climate change. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg wants to force Americans to buy electric “cars” that cost more than the median household income in the United States. Teacher Uncovers Mystery Fossil Older Than Dinosaurs

A teacher made a rare find Monday when she uncovered a mystery fossil that appears to be older than the first dinosaur to walk the planet.

Lisa Cormier, a teacher on Canada’s Prince Edward Island, was out for a walk in Cape Egmont when she saw something partially buried in the ground, according to a report.

“I saw something that I thought was a root,” Cormier said.

“And when I looked closer at it, I realized that there were ribs. And then I saw the spine and the skull.” . . .

Geologist and paleontologist John Calder believes that Cormier’s find is around 300 million years old, 100 million years before the dinosaurs ruled the world, according to the report. (Read more from “Teacher Uncovers Mystery Fossil Older Than Dinosaurs” HERE)

Over 75% Of American Adults Are Failing at Exercise

Only one-quarter of American adults are achieving the minimum amount of exercise suggested for a healthy life, according to new statistics by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Data collected in 2020 and published by the National Center for Health Statistics on Tuesday shows only 24.2% of adults aged 18 and over met the recommended amount of both aerobic and muscle strengthening activities, for a combined average of 150 minutes per week.

The remaining three-quarters of the population otherwise fell short — some by not engaging at all. More than one in five (22.7%) met only the suggested guidelines for aerobic activity, while a few (6.8%) focused mostly on strengthening muscle.

That leaves a staggering 46.3% — nearly half of US adults — who failed to meet the minimum in either category.

Research shows health benefits kick in with at least 150 minutes a week of moderately intense aerobic activity, and that both aerobic and muscle strengthening activities are beneficial to a healthy lifestyle, according to health officials. Additional Exercise Potentially Linked to Longer Lifespans and Lower Death Rates, Study Shows

. . .A new 12-page research article published in the American Heart Association’s Circulation Journal found that people who got extra exercise had a lower mortality rate compared to those who did not.

The study, which was conducted by researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in Boston, Massachusetts, was published on Monday, July 25.

Over a 30-year period from 1988 to 2018, a total of 116,221 adults were monitored and submitted exercise reports that detailed their “leisure-time physical activity.”

Mortality reduction was observed in study participants who got 150 to 300 minutes of vigorous physical activity per week and 300 to 600 minutes of moderate physical activity.

Vigorous exercisers who participated in activities like jogging, running, climbing stairs, swimming, bicycling, aerobics, playing sports and working outdoors for 150 to 299 minutes, had a lower mortality rate between 21% and 23% for all causes of death. Ben & Jerry’s Tells Court It Doesn’t Want ‘Judea and Samaria’ Flavor

Could the new owner of Ben & Jerry’s Israeli business interests rename a flavor “Judea and Samaria”?

Avi Zinger, who bought the company’s Hebrew and Arabic branding from parent company Unilever last month, recently told an Israeli news outlet that he had the right to do so, and even proposed renaming “Chunky Monkey” the Biblical name for the West Bank.

And that threat, Ben & Jerry’s lawyers say, is reason enough why the sale shouldn’t legally go through. (Read more from “Ben & Jerry’s Tells Court It Doesn’t Want ‘Judea and Samaria’ Flavor” HERE)

Scientists Create the First Synthetic Embryos

Researchers in Israel have created the world’s first “synthetic embryos” in a landmark study, without using sperm or egg cells.

Scientists at the Weizmann Institute in Rehovot, Israel, were able to make stem cells taken from mice form early embryo-like structures, including a gastrointestinal tract, a beating heart, and the early stages of a brain. The embryos are considered “synthetic” because they were not derived from a fertilized egg — but preliminary results suggest that “synthetic embryos” are fairly similar to natural embryos.

“Remarkably, we show that embryonic stem cells generate whole synthetic embryos, meaning this includes the placenta and yolk sac surrounding the embryo,” said Dr. Jacob Hanna, who headed the study. “We are truly excited about this work and its implications.”

Researchers believe that this breakthrough could offer alternatives to animal experimentation and pave the way for new stem cell growth for human transplants. Skin cells could be potentially transformed into bone marrow stem cells, for example, to help treat patients suffering from leukemia. The demand for donated organs often outstrips the supply, and the immune system naturally attacks foreign cells, requiring already weakened patients to take immunosuppressant drugs after a transplant. Being able to grow tissues from a patient’s DNA could bypass many of the compatibility issues current transplants face and greatly increase the availability of the treatment.

The synthetic embryos are not thought to have the potential to develop into fully-formed animals, and only 0.5% of the observed stem cells combined to grow distinctive tissue, although those tissues seemed fully functional and “95%” similar to natural tissues in basic structure. Bears Eat Star Athlete, Rich Tourist Couple After Helicopter Crash In Rugged Wilderness

A wealthy couple and their pilot were tragically mauled and eaten by wild bears after their helicopter crashed in the Russian wilderness last week.

Zoya Kaygorodova and Sergey Kolesnyak, a couple in their 30s, were on a pricey tour of the Russian Far East, flying high above the Kamchatka peninsula on the Sea of Okhotsk when the helicopter flown by famous Russian biathlete Igor Malinovsky went down. Authorities said the chopper ran into bad weather.

“The missing aircraft was found by a passing helicopter on the afternoon of July 17 near the Semyachik pass, 13 kilometers from the Uzon volcano,” the Russian Emergencies Ministry said in a statement. “Unfortunately, no one survived the crash.”

European news reports say the wreckage and three mangled bodies were recovered near Kamchatka, Newsweek reported Tuesday.

Malinovsky, just 25 years old and a five-time world junior biathlon champion, reportedly lost communication due to the bad weather conditions shortly before the chopper crashed. Russian media said Malinovsky was from the Kamchatka region. (Read more from “Bears Eat Star Athlete, Rich Tourist Couple After Helicopter Crash in Rugged Wilderness” HERE)

Apple Watch Saves Life of Woman With Heart Tumor: ‘It Truly Saved My Life’

A woman from Maine is now recovering from surgery to remove what would have been a deadly heart tumor, and she has Apple Watch to thank for her new lease on life.

Kim Durkee, 67, said that for three nights in a row back in May, her Apple Watch alerted her that she may be in atrial fibrillation, otherwise known as an abnormal heart arrythmia. At first, she dismissed the alerts and presumed that the watch may have been malfunctioning.

“The third night, the numbers went a little too high for comfort,” Durkee said. “Then I said, ‘You know what? Go to the emergency room. If they tell you it’s nothing to worry about, then toss the watch.”

Though she had no other symptoms, she visited local doctors in Maine, who confirmed that she was, indeed, in atrial fibrillation. And the cause of the A-fib nearly floored her: a myxoma, a rare tumor that forms in primitive connective tissue, usually in the heart. In Durkee’s case, the myxoma had obstructed blood flow in her heart, causing the arrythmia. If gone undetected, it would’ve likely resulted in a stroke. Man Survives 18 Hours Adrift at Sea by Clinging to Half-Deflated Soccer Ball

A 30-year-old North Macedonian man is alive today, thanks to a small soccer ball that children 80 miles away had lost ten days earlier.

Some time earlier this month, a man known only as “Ivan” was vacationing with friends near Kassandra, Greece. They were enjoying time on the beach when a strong current swept three people, including Ivan, far out to sea. Ivan’s friends alerted authorities, who immediately sprang into action, but despite a thorough search, no one could find him.

Meanwhile, Ivan found himself lost at sea with little hope of rescue when a small half-deflated kids soccer ball drifted right into his path. He grabbed hold of the ball and clung to it for dear life. Eighteen hours later, a helicopter from the Greek Air Force finally spotted him.

Ivan was taken to the hospital, where his father and even the local mayor were able to visit with him.

“I had constant information on the course of the rescue and am very happy about the smooth ending of the young man’s adventure,” Anastasia Chalkia, the mayor of Kassandra, wrote in a translated Facebook post. “The young man found a ball that saved his life as he helped him when he got tired.” (Read more from “Man Survives 18 Hours Adrift at Sea by Clinging to Half-Deflated Soccer Ball” HERE)
