Home Depot Co-Founder Vows to Donate Most of His Billions to Charity, and Help Re-Elect Trump

Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus revealed in a recent interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he plans to donate the bulk of his billions to various charities, and help re-elect President Donald Trump.

“I want to live to be 100 because I want to be in a position to give it away to those things that I really believe in,” said Marcus, who in the last 15 years has donated to a throng of philanthropic causes from medical research to autism research, veterans groups, and $250 million to build the Georgia Aquarium.

“I’ve got all the houses I need. I live very well. My kids are taken care of. Everything I live for now is finding the right things to put my money into and that can give me a rate of return in emotion and doing good things for this world,” the 90-year-old executive told the paper. . .

“[Trump’s] got a businessman’s common sense approach to most things,” Marcus said. “…Now, do I agree with every move that he makes? No, I don’t. But the truth is he has produced more than anybody else. He has. If we look at this country, I would say that we are better off today than we were eight years ago or six years ago.”

Never shy about his political beliefs, Marcus recently slammed the rise of socialism in American politics on college campuses across the country, warning that while the free market system he says created the “biggest middle-class population in the world,” socialism always end with a “lower standard of living for those under its thumb.” (Read more from “Home Depot Co-Founder Vows to Donate Most of His Billions to Charity, and Help Re-Elect Trump” HERE)

First Post-Debate Poll Has Harris Riding High, Biden Dropping, and More Than a Few Surprises

By Daily Wire. On Friday, FiveThirtyEight and Morning Consult released the first poll assessing the Democratic presidential candidates following the first round of debates which took place on Wednesday and Thursday. . .

Prior to the first debate, former Vice President Joe Biden led the pack with 41.5% of the vote. After the first debate (in which he didn’t even participate), his support shifted downward, landing at 35.4%. Following the second debate in which he is widely believed to have been routed, his support dropped again to 31.5%. . .

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), on the other hand, had the largest positive jump. Before the first debate, she stood at 7.9% support. After the first debate (in which she didn’t participate), support for Harris dropped to 6.3%. However, after her performance in the second debate, which is widely considered masterful, Harris’ support more than doubled to 16.6%. . .

Sen. Elizabeth Warren saw her stock rise from 12.6% before the first debate to 18% after, only to fall back down to 14.4% following the second debate. As a result, Warren’s differential stands at a fairly paltry +1.8%.

The FiveThirtyEight info-graphic reveals that much of Warren’s boost in support following the first debate was siphoned from Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Mayor Pete Buttigieg. Warren’s subsequent loss, however, went almost entirely to Harris. (Read more from “First Post-Debate Poll Has Harris Riding High, Biden Dropping, and More Than a Few Surprises” HERE)

Voters See Most Democrat Presidential Hopefuls as More Liberal, Extreme

By Rasmussen Reports. Voters see most of the Democratic presidential candidates as more liberal than they are and rate their agenda as outside the mainstream.

Kamala Surprises, Biden Flakes, and Dems Tear Each Other Apart in First 2020 Debate

By PJ Media. In two marathon stretches on Wednesday and Thursday, 20 candidates in the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination fought for time and exposure on the debate stage in Miami, Florida. In the first night, former Rep. Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke (D-Texas) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) lost, but there was no clear winner. In the second night, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) emerged triumphant over the frontrunner, former Vice President Joe Biden.

The first debate round on Wednesday achieved the basic goal of a debate, allowing each candidate to define himself or herself as an option, distinguishing between the different choices. The second debate round on Thursday involved more acerbic attacks, pitting candidates against one another to yield clearer winners and losers. . .

On Thursday, however, candidates targeted one another. Harris went toe-to-toe with Biden on the issue of his record of treating segregationists with civility. While Biden was right to say he did not actually praise segregationists, as Booker had falsely claimed, Harris slammed him and emerged the clear victor in the exchange.

Harris also emerged triumphant in a spat early on. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) urged Biden to “pass the torch to a new generation of Americans.” Biden shot back, saying, “I’m still holding on to that torch.” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg tried to edge in, but shouted over one another. . .

Attacks on Trump came sparsely in the first round, but frequently in the second round. The two debates had entirely different spirits, and the first round was a better debate than the second. The clearest winners were Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg. Notable mentions include Elizabeth Warren, Cory Booker, Tulsi Gabbard, and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand. The clearest losers were Beto O’Rourke, Joe Biden, and Amy Klobuchar. (Read more from “Kamala Surprises, Biden Flakes, and Dems Tear Each Other Apart in First 2020 Debate” HERE)

Biden Falters in Democratic Debate

By The Hill. Front-runner Joe Biden faltered in the Democratic presidential primary debate here Thursday evening, suffering some damage at the hands of rivals while also stumbling of his own accord.

The former vice president hit particularly rocky ground when he was confronted by Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) on his recent warm words for two Southern segregationists of a previous era, the late Sens. James Eastland (D-Miss) and Herman Talmadge (D-Ga.).

Harris also highlighted Biden’s past opposition to school busing. . .

He also defended his vote to give then-President George W. Bush the power to go to war in Iraq, arguing that Bush had abused that power.

On Iraq, Biden was left vulnerable to the inevitable attack from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who took the opportunity to remind voters that, in contrast to Biden, he had “led the opposition to that war, which was a total disaster.” (Read more from “Biden Falters in Democratic Debate” HERE)

Google Analytics Suggest a Surprising Winner of the First Democrat Debate; As Expected, 2020 Dems Disappoint Pretty Much Everyone

By The Blaze. While pundits debate which candidate had a good showing and which had a bad showing at the first Democratic debates, Google analytics provided a technical measure that is a strong indicator of who won.

The official Google Trends social media account tweeted that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii had the greatest increase in searches on their online engine.

Ten of the Democrats that met the qualifications for the debate battled it out in the first of two debates in Miami, Florida.

The account posted a map of searches and indicated that although the Hawaiian congresswoman was the fourth most searched candidate ahead of the debate, but the top candidate searched during the debate.

The analysis indicated that Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) had been the top candidate searched ahead of the debate. In second place was Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), and in third place was Beto O’Rourke. (Read more from “Google Analytics Suggest a Surprising Winner of the First Democrat Debate” HERE)

Democrats Disappoint Hollywood During First Debate

By Breitbart. Hollywood was largely disappointed during the first Democratic presidential debate on Wednesday night, with reaction spanning from pillory to praise to panic.

“I already heard six candidates tonight that can see themselves out, permanently,” actress Amber Tamblyn fumed, sounding unenthused with over half of the Democratic candidates on the debate stage.

“Not a promising start,” said HBO late-night host Bill Maher, who pointed out how most of the candidates dodged the first question and failed to answer how they could justify pushing sweeping economic policy while a large majority of America (and 60 percent of Democrats) say they are doing well in President Trump’s economy.

Actor Don Cheadle seemed completely put off by the debate halfway through the first hour. “why don’t we just have running color commentary from the booth and a scoreboard and throw instant replay in there too to make it all complete …?” the Avengers: End game star suggested.

HILARIOUS: Trump Reveals the Dem Candidate He’d Like to Face in 2020

By Fox News. President Trump said that he would prefer to run against former Vice President Joe Biden than have to face another campaign against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Trump, who has continued to launch criticisms at Clinton even after defeating her in the 2016 presidential race, offered rare praise of the former secretary of state while once again labeling Biden as “sleepy.” . . .

This is not the first time Trump has claimed that he would prefer running against Biden – who consistently leads a crowded Democratic field and has enjoyed success in head-to-head polls against Trump – to other candidates in 2020.

“I’d rather run against, I think, Biden than anybody,” Trump said earlier this month. “I think he’s the weakest mentally and I like running against people that are weak mentally … The other ones have much more energy.” (Read more from “Trump Reveals the Dem Candidate He’d Like to Face in 2020” HERE)

Biden Vows to Repeal Trump Tax Cuts on ‘Day One’ If He Captures White House

By Fox News. Former Vice President and current presidential candidate Joe Biden promised Saturday that on “Day One” of a Biden presidency he would repeal President Trump’s 2017 tax cuts and close $500 billion on tax loopholes.

Speaking at the South Carolina Democratic Party Convention, Biden said that “Income inequities are at an all-time high and made worse by Trump’s tax cuts and enormous giveaways to the top one-tenth of the 1 percent … and it’s time we start to reward work over wealth.”

Outlining his policy proposals in this visit to the early primary state, Biden said the GOP-backed tax cuts, which have been heavily criticized in some quarters as beneficial only to the rich, have no socially redeeming value. He vowed to “put that money to good use.”

Biden promised that, among other things, residual funds from the tax break would be put toward initiatives such as green energy research and development, two-year college tuition grants and a public-option health insurance plan. 2020 Dems at War: Here’s Why Joe Biden Wants Cory Booker to Apologize

Former Vice President Joe Biden told reporters on Wednesday that he was not going to apologize for invoking his ability decades ago to work with two segregationist southern senators to “get things done.”

A Fox News camera was rolling when Biden was asked if he was going to apologize for his remarks. The 2020 Democrat hopeful answered, “Apologize for what?”

Biden faced scorching criticism Wednesday from his primary rivals including two of the three black candidates running for the White House — Sens. Cory Booker of New Jersey and Kamala Harris of California – who raised serious concerns after Biden highlighted his ability to work with the segregationist senators. . .

“Cory should apologize,” Biden said in response on Wednesday. “He knows better. Not a racist bone in my body. I’ve been involved in civil rights my whole career. Period. Period. Period.” . . .

[Booker] added, “I know that I was raised to speak truth to power and that I will never apologize for doing that. Vice President Biden shouldn’t need this lesson and at a time when we have from the highest office in the land divisiveness, racial hatred and bigotry being spewed he should have the sensitivity to know that this is a time I need to be an ally, I need to be a healer, I need not engage in usage of words that will harm folks. And so, this is deeply disappointing.” (Read more from “2020 Dems at War: Here’s Why Joe Biden Wants Cory Booker to Apologize” HERE)

Trump Launches 2020 Re-Election Campaign

President Donald Trump will launch his 2020 re-election campaign on Tuesday evening in Orlando, Florida. Crowds have been waiting for 40 hours to get into the 25,000 capacity Amway Center, and movie screens will be outside for the overflow crowd. . .

Trump says Republicans believe that “every life is a sacred gift from God” after blasting Democrats for “ripping babies straight from the mother’s womb.” He says some Democrats, especially in Virginia, back “execution after birth.” . . .

. . .Trump says tariffs are working and America has added 16,000 manufacturing jobs a month since he took office while the country was losing thousands of manufacturing job a month before that. Referring to Obama’s “magic wand” comments, Trump says he’ll tell “Sleepy Joe” Biden that he found the “magic wand” to bring back manufacturing jobs. He now brags about getting “right to try” legislation passed.

. . .Trump now introduces Sarah Huckabee Sanders and predicts she will run for governor. She says she has been in the front row of history to see him make “drastic changes” to make America great. She says “he’s fighting for all of the people in this room” and “will have an incredible six more years to make our country stronger than it has ever been.”

Jesse Watters: Democratic Debate Lineups Put Elizabeth Warren in Unique Spot

By Fox News. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., appears to be the only top-tier Democratic candidate featured on the first of the two-night debates, according to Jesse Watters.

Warren’s position in the randomly selected debate placements puts her in a unique spot, Watters claimed Friday on “The Five.”

“With Liz Warren, it could go either way,” he said. “She could feel like she is left out and everyone is going to be punching up and attacking her constantly,” he continued, referring to the other candidates featured the first night – June 26 in Miami.

“Or, she could shine and she could really come out – and the media [would] all say Liz Warren obviously cleaned up in that first debate,” the “Watters’ World” host added. (Read more from “Jesse Watters: Democratic Debate Lineups Put Elizabeth Warren in Unique Spot” HERE)

2020 Dem Claims He Wouldn’t Be the First Gay President

By Fox News. Mayor Pete Buttigieg doesn’t believe he’ll be the first gay president if elected in 2020.

“I would imagine we’ve probably had excellent presidents who were gay — we just didn’t know which ones,” he told “Axios on HBO.” . . .

Asked if he possibly knew which commander-in-chief was playing for the other team, the Democratic hopeful said: “My gaydar even doesn’t work that well in the present, let alone retroactively. But one can only assume that’s the case.”

Buttigieg — who is mayor of South Bend, Ind. — has been rising in the polls as of late. He would be the first openly gay presidential candidate, if nominated next next year. (Read more from “2020 Dem Claims He Wouldn’t Be the First Gay President” HERE)

Pete Buttigieg Rising In Polls

By The NY Post. Five of the 2020 Democratic presidential hopefuls would defeat President Trump if the election were held today, with Joe Biden leading Trump by 10 percentage points, according to a new poll released Sunday.

Biden tops Trump 49 percent to 39 percent, the Fox News Poll found, followed by Sen. Bernie Sanders 49 to 40 percent, Sen. Elizabeth Warren at 43 to 41 percent, Sen. Kamala Harris at 42 to 41 percent and Mayor Pete Buttigieg at 41 to 40 percent. . .

But Warren and Buttigieg, the mayor of South Bend, Ind., both increased their level of support, with Warren going from 4 percent in March to 9 percent and Buttigieg surging from 1 percent in March to 8 percent.

Asked what’s more important to them in deciding which Democratic hopeful they would vote for, 45 percent went with the person “who can defeat Donald Trump,” while 52 percent said a candidate with “high ethical standards,” and 2 percent didn’t know. 2020 Poll Shows an Unexpected Candidate Beating Bernie

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders — the original “Democratic socialist” — is plummeting in the polls, giving rise to a new leader in early primary states: Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).

A brand new CBS poll out Sunday shows that Warren is now in second place behind former Vice President Joe Biden in early primary states, edging out Sanders by at least one point, and she’s closing in on Biden.

“Biden is the first choice for 31 percent of voters in 18 early voting states, according to the survey, followed by Warren with 17 percent, Sanders with 16 percent and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) with 10 percent,” The Hill reports. “When Democratic voters are asked which candidate they are considering supporting and allowed to choose as many candidates as they want, Biden still leads with 55 percent, but Warren is closer behind, with 49 percent saying they are considering supporting her.”

That’s definitely bad news for Sanders, who was once thought to be an un-catchable second place to Biden, and who experts thought would likely give Biden a run for his money, given his newfound status as the father of the “Democratic socialist” movement that’s gone on to earn seats in the House and Senate.

Sanders is also at the capstone of his campaign, delivering speech after speech on the “definition” of Democratic socialism, hoping to take the reins of a movement popular with young, minority, and hard-left progressive voters. On Saturday, Sanders gave what he called a “comprehensive” speech on socialism in an attempt to define not just his campaign, but a new party platform.
