Recent Poll Shows Half of Voters Believe Trump Will Win; Trump Supporters Against Mail-In Ballots Over Voter Fraud Concerns

By Washington Examiner. While many in the media feed off polls showing Democratic challenger Joe Biden poised for a blowout election victory, the third survey this week showed the race much closer, with just 4 points dividing the candidates.

The just-released Emerson College poll showed Biden at 50% and President Trump at 46%. The survey of 964 likely voters has a plus or minus 3.1 percentage point rating of accuracy.

And, it added, “A majority of voters, 53%, still think Trump will be reelected in November.”

It was the third poll this week to show a narrow election. (Read more from “Recent Poll Shows Half of Voters Believe Trump Will Win” HERE)

Most Trump Voters Say They Will Not Accept the 2020 Results If Biden Wins Because of Mail-In Ballots

By Yahoo News. Most Americans now believe that President Trump will not accept the results of November’s election if he loses to Joe Biden, according to a new Yahoo News/YouGov poll — and an even larger majority of Trump voters say they too will refuse to accept a narrow loss if mail-in ballots contribute to Biden’s victory. . .

Asked whether Trump would “accept the result” if he “loses in a close election” this November, 52 percent of Americans say no. Only 25 percent say yes.

Voters who support Trump, meanwhile, share their candidate’s unfounded suspicions about postal balloting, with a full 55 percent saying they would not “accept the result” if Biden wins “because of an advantage in mail-in votes.” Only 21 percent say they would accept a Biden victory under those circumstances.

The survey, it’s worth noting, was conducted July 28 to 30, mostly before Trump’s tweet about delaying the election. If anything, these gaps will likely widen in the wake of his incendiary suggestion. Queen of Vote Fraud, Lisa Murkowski, Hammers Trump for Suggesting Presidential Election May Need to be Delayed, Insists Congress Keeps Elections “Safe and Secure”

By Breitbart. President Donald Trump on Thursday predicted the 2020 election would be the “most inaccurate and fraudulent” in history, and even suggested delaying it as Democrats continue promoting vote by mail during the coronavirus pandemic.

“Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???” he asked on Twitter.

The president repeated mail-in voting was proving to be a “catastrophic disaster.”

“With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “It will be a great embarrassment to the USA.”

The president also suggested mail-in voting would open up the 2020 election to foreign influence.

Queen of Vote Fraud, Lisa Murkowski, Derides Trump, Says Congress Has Been Ensuring “Safe and Secure Elections”

By Newsweek. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and other top Republicans flatly rejected President Donald Trump’s suggestion Thursday that the November elections should be delayed[.] . . .

Trump cannot simply “delay the election,” as he implied, because it would require congressional action. The date is set by an 1845 law and would require a constitutional amendment to postpone past December. And the president’s assertions about vote-by-mail fraud are unfounded, given the little evidence in the past few decades.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a Trump confidant, said that while he feels the president’s concerns about mail-in voting are “valid,” he believes “delaying is not the right answer.”

Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) also derided Trump’s claim. “There is absolutely no reason to delay this election, and it is not going to happen,” she wrote on Twitter. “It’s incumbent on us to ensure safe and secure elections, and that’s exactly what the Congress has been doing.” (Read more from “McConnell, Republicans Split with Trump, Say the Election Can’t Be Delayed” HERE)

It Is Resistance, Not Trump, That Needs to Learn to Accept Election Results; President Trump Comments on Possible Biden VP Pick

By The Federalist. The media and Democrats have returned to their pre-2016 election talking point that Donald Trump won’t accept election results. But after nearly four years of refusing to accept their defeat in the last presidential election, it is they and other members of the Resistance who must commit to accepting election results that don’t go their way. . .

Following the inauguration, the Resistance continued to ruthlessly fight Trump’s administration of government and to perpetuate the false and damaging Russia collusion conspiracy theory, leading to a sprawling special counsel investigation. When that ended in humiliating fashion for the Resistance with no evidence of collusion, they attempted to argue that Trump complaining about falsely being accused of being a traitor meant he had obstructed justice. . .

This is all happening while prominent leftist voices are claiming that Trump is rigging the 2020 election. New York Times columnist Paul Krugman tweeted out an elaborate conspiracy theory that Trump could not win legitimately but might try to, well, steal the election. MSNBC’s John Heilemann said Trump is engaged in “a genuine attempt potentially through force to try to steal this election.”

It would be funny if it weren’t so infuriating. Actually, it’s still funny, as the satirical news site The Babylon Bee showed with their article, “‘Trump Might Not Accept The Results Of The 2020 Election,’ Says Movement That Still Hasn’t Accepted Results Of 2016 Election.”

Given what they’ve put the country through since November 2016, the groups that need to be asked if they will accept an election loss in November 2020 are the media, Democrat politicians, and other Resistance activists. Trump Says Harris Would Be ‘Fine Choice’ as Biden Running Mate

By Fox News. President Trump is weighing in on one of the likely top contenders Democratic challenger Joe Biden’s considering as his running mate

As he was departing the White House for a trip to Texas on Wednesday, the president was asked about Sen. Kamala Harris. Trump answered that the senator from California would “be a fine choice” as Biden’s vice presidential nominee.

Harris – a former Democratic presidential candidate who took aim at Biden last year on the debate stage – is considered to be one of the top contenders that the presumptive Democratic nominee is considering as his running mate.

The former vice president told reporters Tuesday in Delaware that he would choose his running mate by “the first week in August.” Saturday is the first day of the new month.

Biden has said for a couple of months that his running mate announcement would come in early August, ahead of the Democratic National Convention, which starts on Aug. 17. The former vice president told reporters, “I promise, I’ll let you know when I do.”

Democrats Whisper, ‘Biden Landslide’

Democrats, including Joe Biden, are trying not to jinx themselves as the political tide seems to turn against President Trump.

“Ignore the polls. We can’t take anything for granted this November — the stakes are simply too high,” Biden tweeted last week.

Biden’s plea was prompted by surveys reporting he’s got a double-digit berth nationally on Trump four or so months out from the general election. Public opinion averages across the country and in critical swing states suggest it’s a tighter race. But the presumptive 2020 Democratic presidential nominee’s still charging ahead in battlegrounds such as Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin. And FiveThirtyEight data this week has Biden winning in states worth 368 electoral votes, compared to Trump’s 170.

Trump’s ebbing political fortunes come as both candidates relaunch their bids following the COVID-19 lockdowns. The White House incumbent, who hosted a massive rally Saturday, returns more battered than his opponent, who’s been holding smaller-scale events. Critics have pummeled Trump for his coronavirus response and its effect on the economy since the start of the year. The president’s also been hit for his reaction to the civil unrest triggered after George Floyd, a black man, died last month as a white police officer knelt on his neck. Poll Confirms U.S. Hasn’t Been This Bummed out in Nearly 50 Years

This should come as no surprise, but more Americans are bummed out now than at any time in nearly 50 years, according to a new poll — most of which was conducted before the May 25 police-involved killing of George Floyd.

The conclusion came from the COVID Response Tracking Study, conducted by the nonpartisan research organization NORC at the University of Chicago, which found that just 14 percent of American adults say they’re very happy, down from 31 who said the same in 2018.

That year, 23 percent said they’d often or sometimes felt isolated in recent weeks — less than half of the 50 percent who say that now.

The survey, conducted in late May, draws on nearly a half-century of research from the General Social Survey, which has collected data on American attitudes and behaviors at least every other year since 1972.

No less than 29 percent of Americans have ever called themselves very happy in that survey, which came following the 1960s riots, near-constant protests against the Vietnam War and as President Richard Nixon was about to face the fallout from the June 1972 Watergate break-in and subsequent cover-up. Former Republican Justin Amash Is Running for President

Michigan Congressman Justin Amash (I) has announced he is launching a 2020 presidential bid to become the nominee for the Libertarian Party. . .

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, the former Republican shared a link to his campaign website with the message, “Let’s do this,” before explaining, “Today, I launched an exploratory committee to seek the @LPNational’s nomination for president of the United States. Americans are ready for practical approaches based in humility and trust of the people.” . . .

Rep. Amash was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives as a Republican during the Tea Party tidal wave in 2010. He became a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus. . .

The congressman was the sole House Republican to call for moving forward with impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, in May of last year. Amid uproar from the party, he left the Freedom Caucus in June, so as not to be “a further distraction from the group.” (Read more from “Former Republican Justin Amash Is Running for President” HERE)

Poll: Here’s Who Democrats Want to Replace Joe Biden With; Will Barack Obama Come out and Support Biden?

By New York Post. A majority of Democrats want to nominate New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for president instead of Joe Biden, according to poll results shared exclusively with The Post.

The national poll found 56 percent of Democrats prefer Cuomo, with 44 percent wanting to stick with presumptive nominee Biden — a 12-point margin well outside the 4.8 percent margin of error for the Democratic sample.

Hispanic voters, young people, women and self-identified liberals are most likely to favor dumping the former vice president for Cuomo.

The poll, conducted April 3-6, was commissioned by the conservative pro-market Club for Growth, which generally supports Republican candidates.

Cuomo denied last month that he wanted to run for president, but some Democrats still are clamoring for an alternative to Biden, who faded from public view during the coronavirus outbreak, which elevated Cuomo in daily press conferences. With Sanders Out, Will Obama Step off the Sidelines for Biden?

By Fox News. With the Democratic presidential primary race officially over and presumptive nominee Joe Biden pivoting to the general election battle ahead with President Trump, the GOP incumbent’s predecessor in the White House could soon re-enter the campaign spotlight.

Fox News has confirmed that former President Barack Obama and Biden – his vice president for eight years – have held several conversations the past couple of weeks.

Biden confirmed one of those conversations – telling donors at a virtual fundraiser last week that he had recently asked his old boss for advice on choosing a running mate.

“So I called President Obama, not as to who but how soon you have to start,” the former vice president shared. . .

But Obama’s decision to stay on the sidelines throughout the primary race has all along raised uncomfortable questions for Biden, opening the door for Trump himself to repeatedly prod his presumptive rival. (Read more from “With Sanders Out, Will Obama Step off the Sidelines for Biden?” HERE)

Fraud Squad: Another Lawsuit to Force Clean-Up of Voter Rolls

When CNN White House reporter Jim Acosta challenged President Trump’s concern about vote fraud at a White House briefing this week, the president cited a Judicial Watch lawsuit against Los Angeles County after 1.6 million ineligible voters were discovered on its roll.

On Thursday, Judicial Watch announced a new lawsuit, in North Carolina, where many of the state’s 100 counties have a large number of ineligible voters on their rolls.

In the complaint, Judicial Watch argues the states’ own data shows a total of 1 million inactive voters on its rolls. . .

The lawsuit also claims the counties violated the NVRA by failing to make available to Judicial Watch public records concerning efforts to comply with the law.

The law requires the removal of the names of registrants who have failed to respond to an address confirmation notice and then fail to vote in the next two general federal elections. (Read more from “Fraud Squad: Another Lawsuit to Force Clean-Up of Voter Rolls” HERE)

Bernie Sanders Drops out of 2020 Race

Sen. Bernie Sanders ended his presidential campaign, he announced on Wednesday, leaving former Vice President Joe Biden as the apparent Democratic presidential nominee.

“I have concluded that this battle for the Democratic nomination will not be successful, and so today I am announcing the suspension of my campaign,” Sanders told supporters in a livestream, saying he wished he could provide supporters with “better news” but “I think you know the truth.”

“We are now some 300 delegates behind Vice President Biden and the path to victory is virtually impossible,” he said. Sanders, I-Vt., called Biden “a very decent man who I will work with to move our progressive ideas forward.” . . .

He added that he understands some supporters who want him to fight on through the convention, but he could not “in good conscience continue to mount a campaign that cannot win and would interfere with the important work required of all of us in this difficult hour” as the COVID-19 outbreak grips the nation.

He pledged to have significant influence over the party platform this summer, as he did during the 2016 convention. He pointed to policies like a $15 minimum wage, which has been picked up in some states and cities since he first began campaigning for it at the presidential level five years ago, as evidence that his progressive platform is winning. Pelosi: Presidential Primary Voting at This Time Is ‘Undermining Our Democracy’

By WND. Democrats, despite their bravado, have reasons to worry about the 2020 presidential election.

Until the coronavirus pandemic, they were facing a strong incumbent with significant economic, national and international accomplishments and a way of reaching independents. Their probable candidate? A gaffe-prone former vice president who regularly loses his train of thought.

Then came the pandemic, and President Trump has been on camera every day, giving updates, outlining plans and announcing decisions. His polling numbers have gone up. Meanwhile, Biden has been holding court in his basement. . .

In fact, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., says voting in a regularly scheduled election is “undermining our democracy.”

She’s complaining about the primary election Tuesday in Wisconsin, which Democrats had tried either to delay or provide special accommodations for voting. (Read more from “Pelosi: Presidential Primary Voting at This Time Is ‘Undermining Our Democracy'” HERE)

Conservative Judges Order Wisconsin’s 2020 Primary to Go Ahead

By Daily Mail. . .The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Monday ordered the election back on, hours after Democratic Gov. Tony Evers issued an executive order postponing it for two months.

That was part of a last-ditch effort by Evers to stop in-person voting on Tuesday out of concerns about putting poll workers and voters at risk of being exposed to COVID-19.

The court ruled 4-2, with four conservatives in support and two liberals against, that Evers lacked the authority to move the election on his own. (Read more from “Conservative Judges Order Wisconsin’s 2020 Primary to Go Ahead” HERE)
