AOC Takes Aim at Ivanka Trump over ‘Career Qualifications’ — It Doesn’t End Well for AOC

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) lashed out at Ivanka Trump over the weekend, lecturing the first daughter about career qualifications. . .

Ocasio-Cortez criticized Ivanka after French President Emmanuel Macron’s office released video showing Ivanka conversing with world leaders, including Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and British Prime Minister Theresa May, the New York Post reported. . .

However, because Ivanka is a White House senior adviser — albeit unpaid — who routinely engages in diplomatic work on the president’s behalf, she also mingled with world leaders at the summit in Japan. . .

Critics of Ocasio-Cortez noted that questioning Ivanka’s career qualifications is ironic given that prior to her election to Congress last year, Ocasio-Cortez worked as a bartender.

“Being the daughter of a billionaire and President of the United States is a hell of a lot better qualification than being a socialist bartender,” one person told AOC in response.

AOC Takes Aim at Amazon…Again. but the Company Isn’t Having It.

Amazon is responding to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) claims that Amazon pays workers “starvation wages.” AOC’s comments were made earlier this week on ABC News’ “This Week,” when she was asked about Amazon and the company’s CEO, Jeff Bezos, and what she’d like to see in a “truly progressive” agenda.

“I’m spending more time thinking about Amazon warehouse workers than I’m thinking of Jeff Bezos. I think about the outcome I want to see for those folks. Jeff Bezos is less of a concern for me than if your average Amazon worker is making a living wage, if they have guaranteed health care and if they can send their kids to college tuition-free,” Ocasio-Cortez explained. “And, if that’s the case, and Jeff Bezos is still a billionaire, then that’s one thing, but if his being a billionaire is predicated on paying people starvation wages and stripping them of their ability to access health care, and also if his ability to be a billionaire is predicated on the fact that his workers take food stamps, so I’m paying him to be a billionaire-” . . .

President Barack Obama’s former Press Secretary, Jay Carney, now serves as Amazon’s Senior Vice President. He responded directly to AOC in a tweet, refuting the claim:

Dems Scuttle Vote on AOC-Endorsed Congressional Pay Hike After It Fails to Get Enough Support… Again

House Democrats are again delaying plans to move forward on a spending proposal to increase Congress’ pay for the first time in a decade, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told reporters Tuesday.

At a weekly press briefing, Hoyer explained that there wasn’t enough support among House members to move forward with the “Cost of Living Adjustment” (COLA) proposal this week, saying that “we don’t have the votes.”

At the Tuesday briefing, Hoyer also cited a lack of GOP support as a reason for not moving forward. Hoyer also echoed concerns already voiced by Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) about serving in Congress only becoming a possibility for the wealthy if pay doesn’t increase at some point.

The original pay hike proposal was included in a spending bill appropriating the budget for the Legislative Branch and was initially tabled after public pushback. That bill will not be brought for a vote this week either, Hoyer explained at the briefing. However, he also explained that he is still trying to reach a deal with GOP leadership on the matter.

Politico reported Monday night that efforts to advance COLA on a bipartisan basis appeared to be in trouble due to a lack of Republican votes in favor of the proposal.

One of the most vocal proponents of a congressional pay increase has been far-left freshman House member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) who claims that a cost-of-living-driven pay increase to Congress’ $174,000 salary is necessary to keep lawmakers from turning to lobbying or other means of cashing in on their service after they leave.

However, voters just don’t see eye-to-eye with her or the other pay increase proponents on this issue. According to a recent Politico/Morning Consult poll released earlier this month, almost three-quarters of registered voters — 72 percent — are against the idea of increasing congressional salaries to some extent. Only 14 percent of respondents supported the idea.

Last week, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said that the Senate wouldn’t be working on the issue, but Hoyer nevertheless persisted, calling the idea “the right thing to do to ensure that the Congress reflects all of America — not just the wealthy.”

Other members of Congress have been far less enthused with the idea.

“Instead of writing a budget or reforming our bankrupt entitlement programs, House Democrats are angling for a pay raise,” Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) said when the idea was first reported. “These jokers couldn’t hold down a summer job at Dairy Queen pulling this kinda crap.” (For more from the author of “Dems Scuttle Vote on AOC-Endorsed Congressional Pay Hike After It Fails to Get Enough Support… Again” please click HERE)

Don Jr. Confronts AOC’s Concentration Camp Remarks with Video of Actual Holocaust Survivors

Over the weekend, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., continued to get blowback over her now-infamous comments in which she compared U.S. government facilities to concentration camps used by the Third Reich. This time it came from Donald Trump Jr.

“Guess who knows more about concentration camps than you?,” the president’s son tweeted at the New York congresswoman. “These Holocaust survivors. They have a message for you. Why don’t you listen — for once[?]”

Trump’s tweet included a video from Turning Point USA in which Holocaust survivors David Tuck and Sami Steigmann address the freshman Democrat’s recent controversial comparison of ICE detention facilities to World War II concentration camps.

“I was in four concentration camps,” said Tuck, who shows the number on his arm to the camera. “We have no concentration camps here. This is just a political comment.” He later said, “don’t talk to me about concentration camps.”

“I went through it,” Steigmann — who was subjected to Nazi medical experiments — says in the video. “How can you, looking at my face, tell me that the camps that we have in the south are concentration camps? What you are doing, you are insulting every victim of the Holocaust. Shame on you.”

The tweet and video are available here.

Since making her remarks last week, in which she said that overburdened ICE detention facilities are “exactly like” concentration camps used during the Holocaust, Ocasio-Cortez has been invited to educate herself on the matter by visiting the camps by both Polish government officials and a Holocaust remembrance group. She declined the latter invitation over the weekend, claiming that it was a “far-right” move for “political gain.” (For more from the author of “Don Jr. Confronts AOC’s Concentration Camp Remarks with Video of Actual Holocaust Survivors” please click HERE)

Ocasio-Cortez Refuses Invite To Visit Concentration Camps With Holocaust Survivor

On Sunday, socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) declined an invitation from a Holocaust remembrance group to visit Nazi concentration camps with a Holocaust survivor, suggesting that it was part of a “far-right” scheme designed for “political gain.”

Ocasio-Cortez made the remarks in response to a tweet from Rep. Steve King (R-IA), who was kicked off his congressional committees by Republican leaders after remarks he made about white nationalism.

In a tweet tagging Ocasio-Cortez and linking to a report from The Hill, King encouraged Ocasio-Cortez to accept the invite from the Holocaust remembrance group. . .

Ocasio-Cortez responded by saying she was rejecting the offer as she believed it was part of how “the far-right manipulates these moments for political gain.” . . .

It’s important to note that King was not inviting her to visit the Nazi concentration camps with him but rather was encouraging her to accept the offer from the Holocaust remembrance group. (Read more from “Ocasio-Cortez Refuses Invite to Visit Concentration Camps with Holocaust Survivor” HERE)

Ocasio-Cortez Caught LYING While Defending Her ‘Concentration Camp’ Comments

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) doubled down on her egregious comparison of the Trump administration’s use of detention facilities on the southern border to concentration camps and the Holocaust.

Ocasio-Cortez made the stunning remarks during an Instagram live video late on Monday night, alleging: “The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border and that is exactly what they are. They are concentration camps. And, um, if that doesn’t bother you, I don’t, I don’t know, I like, we can have, okay whatever.”

Ocasio-Cortez doubled down on her false statement, tweeting: “This administration has established concentration camps on the southern border of the United States for immigrants, where they are being brutalized with dehumanizing conditions and dying. This is not hyperbole. It is the conclusion of expert analysis.”

“And for the shrieking Republicans who don’t know the difference: concentration camps are not the same as death camps,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed. “Concentration camps are considered by experts as ‘the mass detention of civilians without trial.’ And that’s exactly what this administration is doing.”

Though Ocasio-Cortez insists that she did not use the term “concentration camps” to mean the same thing as the concentration camps from the Holocaust, she clearly referenced the horrific event in her original comments. WATCH: AOC Has Shocking Revelations About Biden and Clinton’s Scandals with Women

During a Sunday morning interview with ABC’s “This Week,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) discussed various topics with Jon Karl. Two areas they focused on: whether or not former Vice President Joe Biden can woo female voters after allegations of sexual harassment and if Democrats gave former President Bill Clinton a “pass” on his treatment of women.

“So, Joe Biden appears to be the frontrunner according to all the polls,” Jon Karl said. “Do you think he has sufficiently answered the accusations from women who accused him of in appropriate touching? Does he, in short, does he get it?”

“I think that’s something that he has to show the electorate. I think that it is an issue where it’s a struggle. I’ll be completely honest. I don’t think that he has- I wouldn’t say that it is an incredibly severe, like I don’t think that voters think that he’s necessarily guilty of sexual misconduct or anything like that but I do think that there may be some discomfort, especially seeing some clips this week and the week before, telling the 13-year-old, telling her brothers to watch out for her,” Ocasio-Cortez explained. “I think there are somethings with female voters that it’s just not quite locked down. I think that there’s some ways to go but this is all solely cultural evolution that we’re having as a country, so I don’t necessarily think it’s about being punitive in these ways. But I do think, like in all issues and with all demographics and will all electorates, it’s not about right and wrong sometimes. It’s about what they’re feeling, like someone gets it or not.”

“I don’t think he’s necessarily convinced all women,” she said.

Hilarious: Mini-AOC Releases ‘Re-Election Video’ Mocking the New York Congresswoman

By Fox News. Ava Martinez, the 8 year-old who impersonates Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., released another video on Tuesday in which she mocks the freshman congresswoman’s knowledge of socialism.

“Hello, like, I’m AOC, because I can’t spell Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. So, it turns out socialism is not short for social media,” Martinez said, while wearing lipstick and glasses similar to the real Ocasio-Cortez.

“I should have known it wasn’t short for social media because the only other socialist is a 93-year-old man from Vermont,” she said, referring to Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. “There’s no way Bernie’s Instagram is lit.”

The video accompanied a tweet listing a series of fake slogans that seemed to take shots at Ocasio-Cortez’s inexperience and her climate change warnings.

“AOC in 2023!” one slogan read, apparently implying that Ocasio-Cortez wouldn’t know when the next midterm election would occur. (Read more from “Mini-AOC Releases ‘Re-Election Video’ Mocking the New York Congresswoman” HERE)

GOP Leader, Ocasio-Cortez Give Boost to Lawmaker Pay Hike

By The Hill. Lawmakers say that any effort to give members of Congress a raise won’t pass unless both parties agree not to use the issue as a campaign weapon.

While no such agreement has been ironed out, there is a chance that there will be a bipartisan deal struck at some point this year.

Proponents of the pay hike acknowledge it’s not popular but argue that it is long overdue.

The effort got a significant boost Tuesday when House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) offered support for a pay bump, saying he doesn’t want Congress to be a place where only the wealthy can afford to serve.

Freshman progressive Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), meanwhile, forcefully made a case to her nearly 4.5 million Twitter followers, defending giving members of Congress the cost-of-living adjustment. (Read more from “GOP Leader, Ocasio-Cortez Give Boost to Lawmaker Pay Hike” HERE)

Veterans Storm out of Meeting with AOC – Here’s Why They Were ‘Revolted’

By Daily Wire. Military veterans who attended a recent private event with socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) stormed out of the meeting after Ocasio-Cortez reportedly bashed U.S. foreign policy and attacked Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Silvio Mazzella, a Vietnam War vet, told the New York Post: “She knocks the country, she knocks the president. And that’s not what America is about.”

“I just couldn’t hear her BS anymore,” Mazzella said. “I just got up, got my umbrella in my hand and walked right out.” . . .

Another attendee, who wished to remain anonymous, told the New York Post that they were “revolted” when Ocasio-Cortez bashed President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. . .

Army veteran Anthony Vitaliano, who served 38 years in the NYPD, disputed the claims from Ocasio-Cortez’s office, saying, “That’s bulls–t. Everybody that was there knows I walked out.” (Read more from “Veterans Storm out of Meeting with AOC – Here’s Why They Were ‘Revolted'” HERE)

Veterans Walk out of Meeting with Ocasio-Cortez After She Bashes U.S. Foreign Policy

By The New York Post. . .AOC held the closed-door meeting with about a dozen members of the board on Wednesday night, marking a rare visit to the Bronx part of her district.

One Middle Eastern board member raised the issue of the conflict in Yemen.

The progressive firebrand slammed the US policy of providing bombs to Saudi Arabia, which has supported Yemen’s government in a brutal civil war, according to attendees. Some blamed her for not including the roles of other nations in explaining the volatile region’s violence.

“Talking about America, that really turned me off completely,” said Mazzella, 74, who said he fought in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968. (Read more from “Veterans Walk out of Meeting with Ocasio-Cortez After She Bashes U.S. Foreign Policy” HERE)

Oh, so That’s Why Ocasio-Cortez’s Attack on a CNN Reporter Totally Blew up in Her Face

By Townhall. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) ate it last week. No, it wasn’t about the Green New Deal, which is a recipe for economic disaster; it was a poorly executed counterattack against…the media. Yep, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) is running for the Democratic nomination in 2020, so your whole life goes under the microscope. Y’all know the drill. It so happens that she had quite the legal career as well, charging $675/hour and worked on over 50 legal cases. CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski simply tweeted about this dot on Warren’s resume, which AOC thought was an attack, pulled the trigger, but got face-full of buckshot instead. You see—the article was written by two female reporters from The Washington Post; Kaczynski didn’t even write it. AOC thought his comment about it on Twitter was sexist. Daily Wire has more:

Kaczynski did not write the article (which AOC apparently did not read), but two female reporters from The Washington Post did. And while the piece was rather pointless, it wasn’t an attack on Warren, though Ocasio-Cortez is usually the one vilifying folks for making big money.

“Sen. Elizabeth Warren worked on more than 50 legal matters during her career as a professor at Ivy League law schools, charging as much as $675 an hour to advise a variety of clients, from people with asbestos disease to a corporation facing possible liability over ruptured breast implants,” said The Washinton Post article shared by Kaczynski.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Accuses Former Trump Aide Hope Hicks of ‘Considering Participating in a Coverup Led by the President’

By Business Insider. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York was among several who criticized The New York Times on Sunday for writing that the former White House aide Hope Hicks was facing an “existential question” over whether to comply with a congressional subpoena.

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have demanded that Hicks produce documents by June 4 and testify before Congress on June 19 as part of the committee’s investigations into possible obstruction of justice and corruption in the Trump administration.

Ocasio-Cortez was critical of The Times’ framing of the story, which described Hicks’ “dilemma” as an “existential question,” rather than a straightforward matter of law and order.

“What gets me is news breaks that this woman is weighing committing a crime before Congress & it’s getting framed by the NYT as some Lifetime drama called ‘Hope’s Choice,'” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “This is a fmr admin official considering participating in a coverup led by the President. Treat her equally.” (Read more from “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Accuses Former Trump Aide Hope Hicks of ‘Considering Participating in a Coverup Led by the President'” HERE)
