Schumer Admits Democrats Have a Strategy to Keep Kavanaugh From Being Confirmed. Here’s Their Plan.

By Townhall. While the FBI completes a seventh background check on Judge Brett Kavanaugh and investigates multiple allegations of sexual assault, the Democrats have launched a new tactic to keep the judge from being confirmed: punch holes in his statements and make people question his credibility.

According to Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Kavanaugh was “mislead[ing] senators about everything from the momentous to the mundane,” to make sure he was confirmed to the Supreme Court.

Trump Gets Rare Praise From Schumer After Deal to Replace Nafta

By Market Watch. President Donald Trump on Monday got rare kudos from the man he has sometimes referred to as “Cryin’ Chuck Schumer,” as the Senate minority leader joined those in welcoming a replacement for the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Fellow New Yorkers Schumer and Trump have had an on-again, off-again relationship, at times trading verbal jabs but also striking a debt-ceiling deal in September 2017.

Schumer once said negotiating with Trump was like negotiating “with Jell-O.” His statement Monday, meanwhile, said he knew that Nafta “needed fixing,” and that he wanted to see details of the deal Trump discussed in a Rose Garden news conference. Bombshell: Mutual Friends of Kavanaugh, Ramirez Have Text Messages Suggesting…

Two mutual friends of Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Deborah Ramirez from Yale, Kerry Berchem and Karen Yarasavage, have damning text messages, NBC News reported. According to Berchem, Kavanaugh and his team were texting her asking her to refute Ramirez’s sexual assault allegations before her allegations were published in The New Yorker piece.

From NBC News:

The texts between Berchem and Karen Yarasavage, both friends of Kavanaugh, suggest that the nominee was personally talking with former classmates about Ramirez’s story in advance of the New Yorker article that made her allegation public. In one message, Yarasavage said Kavanaugh asked her to go on the record in his defense. Two other messages show communication between Kavanaugh’s team and former classmates in advance of the story.

The texts also demonstrate that Kavanaugh and Ramirez were more socially connected than previously understood and that Ramirez was uncomfortable around Kavanaugh when they saw each other at a wedding 10 years after they graduated. Berchem’s efforts also show that some potential witnesses have been unable to get important information to the FBI.

Berchem contacted the FBI on Sunday night to hand the text messages over as part of their investigation into Ramirez’s allegations. When she failed to receive a response from the bureau, she typed up a memo and included texts that she thought were most relevant.

Professor: White GOP Senators ‘Deserve Miserable Deaths’ – Here’s Why

Georgetown University Distinguished Associate Professor Christine Fair tweeted that white Republican senators in the Brett Kavanaugh hearing deserve to die.

“Look at thus [sic] chorus of entitled white men justifying a serial rapist’s arrogated entitlement,” Fair tweeted on Thursday. Referencing a video of “Lindsey Graham’s tirade,” Fair, who is a victim of sexual assault, added, “all of them deserve miserable deaths while feminists laugh as they take their last gasps.” . . .

“Professor Fair’s extremely offensive and violent remark goes against everything in line with Georgetown’s values,” TJ Collins, a recent Georgetown graduate told Campus Reform. “President DeGioia should immediately issue a statement condemning the tweet, and Professor Fair should not be permitted in the classroom ever again,” Collins added.

“As a student applying to this school, I wouldn’t have dared use that kind of language on a social media platform, especially surrounding a sensitive and controversial issue. Georgetown wouldn’t have admitted me if they had seen stuff like that,” a current Georgetown student who wished to remain anonymous, told Campus Reform. . .

In addition to her colorful Twitter timeline, Fair also runs a blog called ShitMenSay. “This is where I post snarcastic missives based upon the shit men (and sometimes woman-hating women) say to me via email, voicemail and comments ‘deposited’ on my various social media like celestial droppings of stupidity,” Fair writes in the blog description. Poll Reveals How Voters Truly Feel About Kavanaugh

By The Federalist. A new poll finds that 58 percent of voters in West Virginia think Brett Kavanaugh should be confirmed to the Supreme Court following his testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

The Public Opinion strategies poll commissioned by the Judicial Crisis Network found an overwhelming majority of West Virginians (59 percent) thought Kavanaugh’s testimony was more believable than Christine Blasey Ford, who accused the federal judge of sexually assaulting her more than 35 years ago at a drunken high school party. Those who believe Kavanaugh include 81 percent of Republicans, 43 percent of Democrats and 62 percent of Independent voters. New Poll Shows Missouri Voters Rejecting Sen. Mccaskill for Opposing Kavanaugh

By The Federalist. A new poll finds that Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill has fallen behind her Republican opponent due to her opposition to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

A new poll by Remington Research Group found that of the 1,555 likely Missouri voters surveyed late last week, 48 percent said they were planning to vote for Republican candidate Josh Hawley while 46 percent said they planned to vote for McCaskill.

When asked if McCaskill’s opposition to Kavanaugh affected their voting decision, 49 percent said it made them less likely to vote for the Democratic senator, while only 42 percent it made them more likely to vote for her.

The incumbent Democrat is in a hotly contested race, and support for Hawley has been surging in the polls over the past month. The Real Clear Politics poll average puts Hawley ahead of McCaskill by one point and shows that the race has grown increasingly competitive going into November. The War on Kavanaugh Is All About the Pro-Abortion Left’s Lust for Power

By Life Site News. We may never be able to prove whether Christine Blasey Ford is sincerely misremembering a traumatic event or deliberately slandering a political enemy, but two things are clear: Brett Kavanaugh almost certainly never touched her, and liberals simply don’t care.

They don’t care about the complete lack of evidence that the house party even happened, let alone that Kavanaugh tried to rape her at one. They don’t care about the holes and inconsistencies in Ford’s various retellings. They don’t care that decades’ worth of friends, fellow lawyers and judges, law clerks, and FBI background investigators never found the slightest hint that Kavanaugh was a secret sex predator. . .

As LifeSiteNews covered earlier this week, Democrat Sen. Mazie Hirono of Hawaii said outright she was “put[ting] his denial in the context of everything that I know about him in terms of how he approaches his cases,” particularly the fact that “he very much is against women’s reproductive choice.”

There it is: if the Left thinks you pose a threat to Roe v. Wade, basic standards of evidence, fairness, and due process (which isn’t legally binding on appointment confirmations, but was widely accepted as a moral guide until five minutes ago) get thrown out the window. You must be destroyed by any means necessary, with truth, reputational harm, and family anguish be damned.

The abortion lobby was already intensely mobilized against Kavanaugh; now Planned Parenthood is fundraising not merely on the assault narrative but on an even flimsier story from another accuser with a preposterous tale of gang-rape parties that she supposedly kept going to without telling anyone. Hillary Clinton Repeats Anti-Kavanaugh Talking Point Debunked by Fact Checkers

By Fox News. Hillary Clinton on Wednesday repeated a Democratic talking point about Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s use of the phrase “abortion-inducing drugs” — a claim that has been repeatedly debunked by fact-checkers.

“I want to be sure we’re all clear about something that Brett Kavanaugh said in his confirmation hearings last week,” she tweeted. “He referred to birth-control pills as “abortion-inducing drugs.” That set off a lot of alarm bells for me, and it should for you, too.”

“Did Brett Kavanaugh call birth control abortion-inducing drugs? No” read the headline of Politifact’s fact check — which rated the statement “False.”

“In Harris’ tweet, Kavanaugh appears to define contraception as abortion-inducing. But the video failed to include a crucial qualifier: ‘They said.’ In fact, he was citing the definition of the religious group Priests for Life. Mystery: Someone Doxxed Republican Senators During the Kavanaugh Hearings

As Brett Kavanaugh testified Thursday in the Senate, refuting allegations that he sexually assaulted Dr. Christine Blasey Ford when the pair were both teenagers, a mystery was brewing in the House of Representatives, where someone connected to a House computer was “doxxing” select Senators — surreptitiously editing Wikipedia to reveal the private names and addresses of prominent Judiciary Committee Republicans. . .

As soon as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) concluded his fiery remarks describing the Kavanaugh affair as “the most unethical sham since I’ve been in politics,” information for Graham and Republican Senators Mike Lee and Orrin Hatch, both of Utah, appeared on the online encyclopedia.

Not all of the information was correct. One phone number purportedly belonging to Graham redirected to a D.C. non-profit called the Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League (or SMYAL).

The information was removed almost as quickly as it was discovered, and after a raucous, bipartisan outcry on Twitter, and the bot’s administrators deleted the Tweets. The damage was done, however, and the intent was clear: someone in the House was hoping leftist (or anti-Kavanaugh) activists would jam senators’ cell phones and protest Republicans at their private residences — something several prominent leftists have been suggesting on Twitter. An Important Revelation From Dr. Ford’s Testimony

By Townhall. Conventional wisdom, as dictated by a preponderance of television pundits, says there were no new facts that came out during the testimony of Dr. Ford and Judge Kavanaugh this week. Many also said Rachel Mitchell, the sex crimes prosecutor that questioned Ford, didn’t achieve much. I disagree.

There was at least one revelation that was shocking and the repercussions from it could be quite substantial. During Dr. Ford’s testimony, she said she didn’t know the Judiciary Committee had offered many, many times for her to testify in private and in California. It was shocking that she didn’t know this because it was widely reported. References to it appeared in numerous news reports. But this is what Ford said during her testimony:

Mitchell: Was it communicated to you by your counsel or someone else that the committee had asked to interview you, and that they offered to come out to California to do so?

Ford Attorney: I’m going to object, Mr. Chairman, to any call for privileged conversation between counsel and Dr. Ford.

Ford: Can I say something to you? Do you mind if I say something to you directly? I just appreciate that you did offer that. I wasn’t clear on what the offer was. If you were going to come out to see me, I would have happily hosted you and been happy to speak with you out there. I just did not – it was not clear to me that that was the case.

Senator to Vote ‘Yes’ on Kavanaugh Unless ‘Bombshell’ Emerges

By Washington Times. Sen. Lindsey Graham says he plans to vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the U.S. Supreme Court absent some unknown “bombshell,” saying the judge’s life has been “ruined” by recent accusations of sexual assault and misconduct when the judge was in high school and college.

“He’s not a stumbling, bumbling drunk. I don’t believe that you could have accomplished what he’s accomplished to have been a serial rapist in high school and stop it for the rest of your life,” Mr. Graham, South Carolina Republican, said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”

“Not one person who he’s been in charge of during his legal career has ever said he did anything inappropriate,” Mr. Graham said.

“I think he’s highly qualified. I think he’s a capable man. I think his life was ruined here,” he said. “I’m going to vote for him unless some bombshell comes out that I don’t know about.”

Lindsey Graham Wants to Investigate Democrats for Kavanaugh Leak

As the FBI starts interviewing people who could have witnessed the alleged sexual misconduct by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Senate Republicans are calling for an investigation to hold Democrats accountable for what they say has become a divisive and unnecessary public debate over sexual misconduct allegations leveled against Kavanaugh.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican on the Judiciary Committee who has become the voice of GOP outrage over Kavanaugh’s treatment, called for a probe of who leaked a letter to Senator Dianne Feinstein, the committee’s ranking Democrat, from California psychologist Christine Blasey Ford. Ford alleged in the letter that Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted her when they were in high school but asked that her complaint be kept confidential.

Ford stated again during her gripping testimony Thursday before the committee that she had not wanted to go public with her account, adding that she only went on the record after reporters from numerous news organizatons, tipped off to her letter, had visited her home and workplace.

Senators Vow ‘Full Scale’ Investigation to Determine Who Leaked Kavanaugh Accuser’s Letter

By The Blaze. Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) charged Sunday that Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, will face an investigation over her office’s handling of a letter from Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who initially accused Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.

Weeks after President Donald Trump announced Kavanaugh’s nomination, Ford wrote Feinstein an anonymous letter outlining her allegations. She demanded she remain anonymous. But sometime after the media learned of the allegations, Ford’s letter was leaked to the press. The only people who reportedly had access to the letter were Feinstein’s office, the office of Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.), and Ford’s attorneys.

How the letter leaked has been a huge source of contention, as it could prove a level of coordination to undermine Kavanaugh’s confirmation. . .

Speaking on CBS’ “Face The Nation,” Cotton also revealed that Ford’s attorneys will face a Washington, D.C., bar investigation for allegedly withholding from their client the fact that the Senate Judiciary Committee offered to take her testimony in a confidential manner by flying staffers to interview her in California. Limits to FBI’s Kavanaugh Investigation Have Not Changed, Despite Trump’s Comments

By NBC News. The FBI has received no new instructions from the White House about how to proceed with its weeklong investigation of sexual misconduct allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, a senior U.S. official and another source familiar with the matter tell NBC News.

According to the sources, the president’s Saturday night tweet saying he wants the FBI to interview whoever agents deem appropriate has not changed the limits imposed by the White House counsel’s office on the FBI investigation — including a specific witness list that does not include Julie Swetnick, who has accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct in high school.

Also not on the list, the sources say, are former classmates who have contradicted Kavanaugh’s account of his college alcohol consumption, instead describing him as a frequent, heavy drinker. The FBI is also not authorized to interview high school classmates who could shed light on what some people have called untruths in Kavanaugh’s Senate Judiciary Committee testimony about alleged sexual references in his high school yearbook.

The sources said nothing would preclude the FBI from asking Kavanaugh’s high school friend Mark Judge, who is on the witness list, about Swetnick’s allegations, but the sources stressed that this is not a top priority. Committee Votes to Confirm Kavanaugh – Flake, Murkowski Demand Delay on Final Vote

By Townhall. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted Friday morning 11-10 to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. All Republicans voted for Kavanaugh and all Democrats voted against.

A procedural vote will be taken by the full Senate on Saturday afternoon. A final and full Senate confirmation vote has been scheduled by Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for Tuesday, October 2.

Senator Jeff Flake (R-AZ) announced Friday morning he will vote for Kavanaugh, solidifying his ability to make it past Committee. Friday afternoon, he called for a one week delay of the full Senate vote for an FBI investigation. He also said he is not comfortable supporting a full vote of Kavanaugh until the investigation is complete.

Murkowski Sides With Flake on Delaying Kavanaugh Vote for Investigation

By Townhall. Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) told reporters Friday that she agrees with fellow moderate Republican Sen. Jeff Flake (AZ) in his call for an FBI investigation that would delay the Senate floor vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination for up to one week.

Murkowski believes there should be an investigation that is “limited in time and scope.”

During the Senate Judiciary Committee vote to move Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the full Senate, Sen. Flake insisted that he did not think they should have a full vote on Kavanaugh until there has been a week-long FBI investigation into sexual misconduct allegations against Kavanaugh.
