More Lies Revealed: Chinese Military Collaborated With Lab Where COVID-19 Pandemic Originated

The Chinese regime has said its controversial virology institute had no relationship with the military, but the institute worked with military leaders on a government-sponsored project for almost a decade.

The Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) participated in a project, sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)—a regime-funded scientific research institution—from 2012 to 2018. The project was comprised of a team of five military and civil experts, who conducted research at WIV labs, military labs, and other civil labs leading to “the discovery of animal pathogens [biological agents that causes disease] in wild animals.” . . .

In recent months, the Chinese Foreign Affairs Ministry and Shi Zhengli, the WIV virologist nicknamed “Bat Woman” for her research on coronaviruses of bat origin, denied there is a connection between the WIV and military, and said that no WIV researchers were infected with COVID-19.

However, according to an investigation conducted by the U.S. State Department, “several researchers inside the WIV became sick in autumn 2019, before the first identified case of the outbreak, with symptoms consistent with both COVID-19 and common seasonal illnesses.”

“The WIV has engaged in classified research, including laboratory animal experiments, on behalf of the Chinese military since at least 2017,” states a State Department fact sheet. (Read more from “More Lies Revealed: Chinese Military Collaborated With Lab Where COVID-19 Pandemic Originated” HERE)

Chinese Embassy Tweets Anti-American, Antisemitic Cartoon

The Chinese Embassy in Japan last Thursday tweeted an antisemitic cartoon and then deleted it at the behest of Israel’s Foreign Ministry.

The cartoon featured an image of the Grim Reaper wearing an American flag and carrying a scythe with the Israeli flag as he goes door to door and leaves a bloody trail behind him. The doors are labeled Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Egypt.

The tweet in Japanese said: “If the United States brought ‘democracy,’ it would be like this.”

The cartoon demonized Israel, Israeli Ambassador to Japan Yaffa Ben-Ari told her Chinese counterpart, Cheng Yonghua, on Friday.

Yonghua said he had not noticed that Israel was part of the image. (Read more from “Chinese Embassy Tweets Anti-American, Antisemitic Cartoon” HERE)

More Links Between China’s Biowarfare Labs and COVID

Chapter 78 of the Chinese Communist Party’s Thirteenth Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) describes the fusion of military and civilian research including the area of “synthetic biology.”

From the publications of China’s leading research scientists, “synthetic biology” appears to include biological warfare.

Many also underestimate the potential contributions of Chinese veterinary and agricultural research to such a military program.

Ningyi Jin is a member of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He is described as a virologist, who studies zoonotic diseases. He is a native of Jilin Province of Korean nationality and is a member of the Communist Party of China.

He is also a senior officer in China’s Peoples’ Liberation Army.

Ningyi Jin is the Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Virology and Immunology of the Military Veterinary Research Institute of the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, the director of the Military Genetic Engineering Key Laboratory, and the director of the Jilin Province Virus Recombinant Vaccine Research and Development Engineering Center.

He has been a research collaborator with Peking Union Medical College, China’s Centers for Disease Control (CCDC), Model Animal Research Center of Nanjing University, Jilin Agricultural University, Wenzhou University, Yanbian University, Shihezi University, Sichuan University, Foshan University, and other allegedly “civilian” research institutions.

In one scientific publication, Ningyi Jin lists himself as a faculty member of Wenzhou and Guangxi Universities. In another publication, he affiliates himself with Yanbian University.

Ningyi Jin has extensive experience in experimentation with coronaviruses.

In addition to his research connections, some of which can be traced back to the United States, there are two aspects of Ningyi Jin’s research activities that raise red flags.

Not only does he use genetic engineering extensively, but Ningyi Jin is one of a number of scientists in China, who, since 2007, have conducted experiments with a transgenic mouse model containing the human receptor for coronaviruses.

That is, any one of those Chinese laboratories could have quickly pre-adapted a coronavirus for human infection using that mouse model and a technique called “serial passaging.”

More alarming, however, is Ningyi Jin’s attitude toward zoonotic research.

Zoonotic diseases are caused by germs that typically spread from animals to humans. That is, by definition, it is a naturally occurring event.

Ningyi Jin, by contrast, sees zoonotic diseases in terms of biowarfare or bioterrorism, where the use of biotechnology can transform a natural zoonotic pathogen in order to “greatly increase its lethality, offensive power, and toxic effects.”

That opinion is expressed in the preface of a book called “The New Edition of Zoonoses” written by Ningyi Jin in 2007.

Ningyi Jin’s viewpoint is not an isolated one, but a common theme that runs through many Chinese military publications.

The time is long past for the U.S. government to take a far more serious look at the Chinese Communist Party’s biowarfare program, their joint civilian-military research institutions supporting it, the laboratory origin of COVID-19, and the U.S. scientists and federal funding that may have contributed to it.

Preferably, this will be done before another more lethal COVID-19 appears.

China and Russia Optimistic Over Iran Talks as Biden Envoy Sulks on Sidelines

The governments of China and Russia, which appear to be taking the lead in talks between Iran and the remaining partners in the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, expressed optimism after talks concluded on Friday for the week that progress had occurred.

The conversations over the agreement formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) began this week in Vienna, Austria. Representatives from China, Russia, and Iran — as well as the United Kingdom, France, and Germany — met to discuss, they claimed, a way to repair what remains of the agreement after years of violations by Tehran and President Donald Trump withdrawing the United States from it in 2018. Notably absent from the invitation list was the United States, which had no formal representation in this week’s talks.

The administration of President Joe Biden claimed it would engage in “indirect” talks with Iran and sent its special envoy on the matter, Robert Malley, to Vienna. Iranian officials clarified Tuesday, however, that “no negotiations will take place between the representatives of Iran and the United States” and no talks of any kind, direct or otherwise, would take place this week.

Malley is staying in a separate hotel in Vienna from where the Iran deal talks are occurring and appears to have met only with officials not privy to the negotiations, including representatives of the Austrian government and the International Atomic Energy Organization (IAEA).

With no input from Washington, Iran has used the talks to vocally and repeatedly insist that it will not begin to discuss returning to compliance on the JCPOA with the United States unless the Biden administration immediately lifts all sanctions on Iran, not just those regarding the nuclear weapons issue. This would presumably include the accurate branding of Iran as a State Sponsor of Terrorism due to its international support of Hezbollah, a Shiite jihadist organization, and its involvement in deadly attacks on civilians such as the 1994 bombing of Argentine-Israeli Mutual Association (AMIA) in Buenos Aires. U.S. Military: Chinese Attack On Taiwan Is Imminent

The U.S. military is concerned that an attack on Taiwan by Chinese forces is imminent, which could trigger a significant increase in tensions between the two countries.

Military officials are suspecting that China’s government is accelerating a timetable for attacking and possibly seizing control of the island following years of building tensions and disputes over sovereignty, The Associated Press reported Wednesday.

“We have indications that the risks are actually going up,” Admiral Philip Davidson told a Senate panel in March.

As a result of the heightened tensions, the USS John S. McCain arrived in the Taiwan strait Wednesday, according to Reuters, as China attempted to continue agitating Taiwan with fighter jet flyovers. . .

The concerns about the potential action come after a tense meeting between Secretary of State Antony Blinken and his Chinese counterparts, in which China accused America of “slaughtering” black Americans and having no right to comment on the treatment of Uyghurs.

Many Chinese Communist Officials Are Avoiding COVID Vaccines; Some Areas At Less Than 10% Compliance

As the Chinese regime races to inoculate tens of millions through coercive policies and a propaganda blitz, some local officials are quietly dodging the shots themselves.

Amid Beijing’s aggressive vaccine push, dozens of officials from parts of Liaoning, a province in northeastern China, have cited various health reasons not to take the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine, internal documents obtained by The Epoch Times reveal.

In a town called Xintai, located in the center of the province, only three out of 66 officials have gotten vaccinated, with another two on the registration list—showing a dismal willingness rate of less than 10 percent.

Fifty government officers and those with the local judicial office and law enforcement gave reasons such as underlying illness, allergy, pregnancy, recent surgery, or a cold, according to a chart that summarizes the region’s vaccination efforts.

Allergy stood out as the top reason, cited 22 times. Twenty people also cited high blood pressure while five mentioned diabetes—even though both are chronic diseases that would mark them as highly vulnerable to the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus. Report: Communist China Is Throwing Christians Into Torturous ‘Brainwashing’ Camps

The Chinese Communist Party is rounding up Christians in “secretive, mobile transformation facilities” and demanding that they reject their faith, according to a report from Radio Free Asia.

Using multiple state-run agencies, the proudly atheist communist regime has raided house churches in multiple regions including in the southwest and held Christians captive in facilities where some victims say they were “beaten, verbally abused and mentally tortured by staff.”

It was a mobile facility, that could just set up in some basement somewhere. It was staffed by people from several different government departments,” said a man with the pseudonym Li Yuese, a Christian who was imprisoned for 10 months in a “windowless room” after the CCP raided his church in 2018. “They threaten, insult, and intimidate you. These were United Front officials, men, women, sometimes unidentified, usually in plain clothes. The police turn a blind eye to this.” . .

“They were using brainwashing methods on those of us who were on bail from the detention center,” Li said, noting that “there is no time limit for the brainwashing process.” (Read more from “Report: Communist China Is Throwing Christians Into Torturous ‘Brainwashing’ Camps” HERE)

Report: Facebook Is Allowing China to Buy Ads Depicting ‘Thriving’ Uyghurs in Xinjiang

Facebook staffers were reportedly growing concerned that the platform was allowing Chinese state actors to buy ads spreading propaganda with limited regulations, according to a report published Friday.

Employees were discussing ads purchased by Chinese entities that depict “thriving” Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang province, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. China was estimated to have detained at least 1 million Uyghurs in reeducation camps, in what the U.S. considered an act of genocide.

Facebook has been blocked in China since 2009, but has earned $5 billion per year in advertising revenue from Chinese businesses and government agencies, according to Reuters. One Muslim Facebook employee reportedly authored a “plea to leadership” for the company to “action to fight misinformation on the Uighur genocide,” according to the Journal. . .

Advertisements purchased by Beijing included videos featuring children showcasing the supposedly great lives they are living in Xinjiang detention camps, the Journal reported. The ads claim that the West was trying to “destabilize China” with false claims of genocide. Yes, COVID-19 Was a Biological Attack by the Chinese Communist Party

In a must-read article in the December 2020 issue of Indian Defense Review, Dr. Sharad S Chauhan defines “Opportunistic Bioterrorism” as:

“Concealment of the emergence of a biological agent, pathogen or a disease by acts of commission or omission with the knowledge that such an act will harm or kill humans’ animals or plants with the intent to intimidate or coerce a government or civilian population to further political or social objectives or by using a situation to get power or an advantage.”

That “opportunity” was COVID-19, a product of policies and actions undertaken by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

First and foremost, it is critical for everyone to understand that, in the People’s Republic of China, there is no difference between military and civilian research centers.

Chapter 78 of the CCP’s Thirteenth Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) describes the fusion of military and civilian research including the area of “synthetic biology.”

Even prior to the publication of that plan, it had been common practice for the CCP to change the name of military research centers to something more civilian-sounding and for Chinese scientists to disguise their military connections.

A second component of the CCP’s military-civilian fusion effort is the integration of Chinese scientists working abroad as part of the network, even to the extent that Chinese scientists have become U.S. citizens, but remain active members of the CCP’s program.

In that way, foreign institutions and foreign funding sources become de facto partners in the CCP’s research program and contributors to China’s military and economic might.

The most glaring, but far from the only example of such American “useful idiot” participants in the CCP military-civilian research program, is Dr. Anthony Fauci, whose National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) funded coronavirus research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology via long-time CCP research collaborator Peter Daszak, who is head of the EcoHealth Alliance.

The CCP integration of military-civilian virus research is led by the Academy of Military Medical Sciences, where Dr. Wei Chen, a Major General in the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and the virologist, is Director of the Institute of Bioengineering and presumed to be the head of China’s biological warfare program.

In January 2020, the CCP dispatched Major General Wei Chen to Wuhan to take charge of the response to the growing pandemic. She was also responsible for China’s COVID-19 vaccine development.

It is also Major General Wei Chen’s own experience and research connections that provide the background for the origin of COVID-19.

The following is just a snapshot of a more widespread and deeper internal and international network representing the fusion of China’s military-civilian research program.

In 2004 and 2005, Major General Wei Chen was working in the Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Academy of Military Medical Sciences, where she studied the spike protein of the first SARS coronavirus using a genetic technology called RNA interference to silence gene expression of the virus, as well as analyzing immune therapy in SARS patients.

According to her publication record, between 2008 and 2013, Major General Wei Chen conducted experiments on dengue fever virus in the Department of Microbiology, Third Military Medical University, Chongqing.

It is important to note that Chinese whistleblower Dr. Li-Meng Yan claims that the backbone of the COVID-19 virus, bat coronaviruses ZC45 and/or ZXC21, was characterized and genetically engineered under the supervision of the Third Military Medical University in Chongqing.

Around 2014, Major General Wei Chen returned to the Academy of Military Medical Sciences as Director of the Institute of Bioengineering, where she supervised human testing in Africa of a genetically engineered viral vector Ebola vaccine.

Dr. Yusen Zhou was one of the Chinese military scientists, who collaborated with Major General Wei Chen in the response to the COVID-19 outbreak.

He received his training as a military medical doctor and also studied the spike protein of the first SARS coronavirus in 2004, while working in the same research center as Major General Wei, the Institute of Microbiology and Epidemiology, Academy of Military Medical Sciences.

Yusen Zhou’s co-author on that 2004 scientific article “Identification of Immunodominant Sites on the Spike Protein of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) Coronavirus: Implication for Developing SARS Diagnostics and Vaccines” was Dr. Shibo Jiang.

Also a graduate of a military medical university, Shibo Jiang worked at the Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute of the New York Blood Center for nearly twenty years and received more than $17 million in U.S. research grants, the vast majority coming from Fauci’s NIAID.

During that period, Shibo Jiang developed an extensive network of collaborative research with other U.S. virus research laboratories and became the nexus connecting China’s military-civilian research program with those in the United States.

At the same time, Shibo Jiang maintained research activities with Yusen Zhou and several PLA laboratories, described in detail here, while simultaneously inviting other Chinese scientists into his U.S. laboratory.

One was Dr. Lanying Du, allegedly Yusen Zhou’s wife, who is still an employee of the Lindsley F. Kimball Research Institute in New York and recently received a 5-year grant totally $4.1 million from Fauci’s NIAID.

Shibo Jiang’s U.S. network consisted of laboratories conducting cutting edge coronavirus research, including the controversial “gain of function” experiments:

Dr. Ralph Baric, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill NC

Dr. Fang Li, University of Minnesota Medical School, Minneapolis, MN

Linfa Wang, director of the Program in Emerging Infectious Diseases at Duke University-NUS Medical School, Singapore

Chien-Te K. Tseng, University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, home of the Department of Defense-funded Center for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases and the high viral BL-4 containment facility.

All of the above are linked to the CCP’s military-civilian research program via Yusen Zhou or the “bat woman”, Dr. Zheng-Li Shi of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

Another CCP scientist linked to both the Chinese military and the highest levels of U.S. research programs is Dr. Gao Fu, also known as George F. Gao, a virologist and immunologist, who has served as Director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CCDC).

In 2019, he was elected a foreign associate of the U.S. National Academy of Science and the U.S. National Academy of Medicine.

Gao Fu is a long-time research partner of China’s military with whom he published in 2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008a, 2008b, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014a, 2014b, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Gao Fu’s colleague at the CCDC, Dr. Wenjie Tan, is not only linked to Shibo Jinag and Yusen Zhou, but is a close collaborator of Dr. Zhenhong Hu from the General Hospital of Central Theater Command of the PLA in Wuhan.

Zhenhong Hu conducted research with the Third Military Medical University from where the bat backbone of the COVID-19 virus is alleged to have originated.

The Third Military Medical University was also Major General Wei Chen’s place of employment for five years.

It is perhaps no coincidence that, according to patient data, the epicenter of the outbreak during its earliest phase was the General Hospital of Central Theater Command of the PLA (map coordinates 30.53148, 114.34356).

That location is less than one mile from the P-3 level laboratory of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Hubei Engineering and Technology Research Center for Viral Diseases (map coordinates 30.53941, 114.35085).

That information also matches data published by the Wuhan Wuchang District Health Bureau stating that the highest concentration of infections in the early phase of the outbreak occurred in the residential areas about one mile from the hospital.

Those observations fit, in time and location, the social media data obtained from the Sina Weibo platform, which was designed as a channel for suspected COVID-19 patients to seek help.

It is interesting to note that during May 2020, the U.S. National Academy of Science initiated a series of conference calls between Chinese and U.S. scientists to exchange information about the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The three Chinese participants on those calls were Gao Fu, Wenjie Tan and the “bat woman” Zheng-Li Shi of the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The calls could also be described as de facto briefings for China’s military.

There is still much we do not know about the origin of COVID-19, largely due to a cover-up operation led by the CCP and facilitated by members of the Western scientific community, some U.S. government officials and a compliant media. One could argue that they are all co-conspirators in “Opportunistic Bioterrorism.”

China Launches Celebrity War on Brands Rejecting Slave-Picked Cotton

A Chinese state propaganda war against Western companies launched this week continued Friday with the announcement of dozens of Chinese regime-approved celebrities canceling sponsorship deals with brands that oppose the use of Uyghur slaves to pick cotton.

The campaign began this week when members of the Communist Party uncovered corporate statements made by apparel companies H&M and Nike in the past year distancing themselves from the Chinese slave cotton industry. Extensive reporting over the past two years has revealed that, as an offshoot of its Uyghur concentration camp system, the Chinese regime has enslaved at least thousands members of the ethnic Uyghur minority and forced them to pick cotton. A critical report published in March 2020 by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) documented proof of Beijing offering government incentives to factories nationwide in exchange for purchasing Uyghur labor, then shipping Uyghur slaves to factories outside of their native Xinjiang province. The study listed 83 multinational companies, among them some of those targeted by Beijing today, as benefitting from Uyghur slavery.

In December, a study by researcher Adrian Zenz revealed the extensive use of mobile phone apps by the Communist Party to streamline the enslavement of Uyghur people and forced labor generally in the Xinjiang cotton industry.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) banned all cotton products from Xinjiang from entering America in January.

H&M, Nike, and Adidas were among the companies that published statements last year, in response to a campaign by human rights activists, distancing themselves from the use of Xinjiang cotton. (Read more from “China Launches Celebrity War on Brands Rejecting Slave-Picked Cotton” HERE)
