Your Irresponsible, Fact-Free Bomb Speculation Is Ruining the Country

Law enforcement has seized at least 10 suspected package explosives sent to George Soros, CNN, and several top Democratic individuals, and the toxic, vitriolic, speculative and politically partisan news cycle that has erupted around this story is shameful. The Left is assigning blame, without evidence, to an unnamed Trump supporter, with #MAGAbomber trending on social media for most of Wednesday. Trump supporters are being called “terrorists.” Many on the Right are countering that narrative by suggesting, without evidence, that the bomb threats are some sort of “false flag” operation designed by the Left to influence the upcoming midterm election.

President Donald Trump and his administration are also under attack, receiving blame from Democrats and the media for rhetoric they say encourages violence directed at the media and the Democratic Party. CNN president Jeff Zucker pointed his finger directly at Trump in a statement on the intercepted package sent to CNN offices:

The one-sided blame from the media toward Trump ignores the regular heated rhetoric blasted from the Left on its networks. Trump is regularly compared to dictators like Adolf Hitler, his assassination is fantasized in the New York Times, calls for harassment of Republicans from Democratic leaders are ignored or downplayed, and “mob” is a dirty word on CNN, even though that’s exactly what the far Left has become.

Trump took this double standard and fired back at the media in a tweet sent Thursday morning:

Depressingly, all of this nonsensical speculation and partisan rancor is tossed around without any party knowing who sent the packages or why they were sent. The news media and the politicians are not discussing the facts. So let’s attempt to do that here.

Here’s what we do know so far:

Between October 22 and 24, 2018, suspicious packages were received at multiple locations in New York, Washington D.C., and Florida, according to a statement from the FBI. The FBI says these packages “contain potentially destructive devices.”

On October 25, another package sent to actor Robert De Niro was intercepted, bringing the total number of suspicious packages intercepted to 10, CBS News reports.

The individuals who have received these packages also include progressive donor George Soros, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Joe Biden, former CIA Director John Brennan, former Attorney General Eric Holder, and Rep. Maxine Waters. The return address on each package names “Debbie Wasserman Shultz,” the FBI said.

The packages were sent in manila envelopes with six Forever stamps. The package addressed to Holder was sent to the wrong address and returned to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s office in Florida.

Two packages each were addressed to Biden and Waters.

The AP reports the packages were “packed with powder and shards of glass.” A law enforcement official said they were made from PVC pipe about six inches in length and covered with black tape. Each device reportedly had a small battery, “similar to a watch battery.”

ABC News reports that the package intercepted in Los Angeles addressed to Waters “did contain a live explosive device and that the device was consistent with those on the East Coast.”

NBC News reports that the potential explosive device sent to CNN featured a parody ISIS flag and an inscription that read “Get ‘Er Done.”

All of the potential devices were intercepted without detonating.

The FBI, ATF, Secret Service, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and NYPD are all investigating the matter.

Until the investigation is complete, we will not know who sent these packages or the motive behind it.

Speculation about the sender or dismissals of the bomb threat as “fake news” are irresponsible and damaging to the country.

Let’s let the investigators gather the facts and present them in completion before we begin to draw conclusions. (For more from the author of “Your Irresponsible, Fact-Free Bomb Speculation Is Ruining the Country” please click HERE)

CNN’s ‘Reliable Sources’ Speculates Trump Inspired Murder of Saudi Journalist

On CNN’s Sunday broadcast of “Reliable Sources,” host Brian Stelter and Washington Post editorial editor Fred Hiatt used a segment about disappeared Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi to baselessly speculate that President Trump’s harsh criticism of mainstream Americans news outlets could have had a part in inspiring Khashoggi’s murder.

Although they still had no direct evidence that Khashoggi had even been killed at that point, let alone any information about why the Saudi government would murder him, Stelter felt the urge to suggest that Trump, along with “other world leaders,” might be responsible for motivating Khashoggi’s murder and dismemberment. . .:

HIATT: I think, even for people who wanted to give MBS [Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Salman] the benefit of the doubt, this has to be a watershed moment. This is, if the reports are true, a crime of an entirely different caliber, and it should not be possible for anybody to go back to business as usual.

STELTER: To lure someone to a consulate, to dismember a body and take it back to Saudi — it is a crime of a different caliber. I wonder if you look at what’s happened in the last twelve days and you wonder if “enemy of the people” rhetoric — not just from President Trump, but also then from other world leaders — has anything to do with this, anything at all?

Although he seemed a bit hesitant to fully agree with Stelter’s premise at first, Hiatt did ultimately concur that Trump’s “enemy of the people”-type statements about American journalists were “part of the big picture” surrounding Khashoggi’s presumed murder. After stressing that his killers should be the “focus” of any condemnation or investigation, Hiatt also argued that Trump’s lack of liberal international moralizing about “democratic values” had opened up the possibility of murdering journalists. Football Legend Calls for CNN Host to Be Fired for Racist Comments About Kanye West

Football legend-turned-activist Herschel Walker is calling for CNN to fire Don Lemon after the “CNN Tonight” host laughed when rapper Kanye West was referred to as “the token negro of the Trump administration” during a segment that aired Tuesday night.

The segment — which has been slammed as “racist” — began with Lemon asking if President Donald Trump is simply “using Kanye as a prop to win over black voters before the midterms.” . . .

Sellers’ remark prompted laughter from Lemon and fellow panelist Tara Setmayer, who followed up by saying West is “the token negro of the Trump administration.”

Walker, who has openly supported Trump, is also an outspoken advocate for mental health issues – which were also mocked during the segment. Walker took to Twitter to express his disbelief.

“Went to bed appalled over Don Lemon’s despicable behavior laughing at Tara Setmayer and Bakari Sellers’ awful remarks about Kanye West’s visit with [Trump]! Woke up wondering why CNN doesn’t take all three off the air?” Walker tweeted, adding the hashtag “#Shameful.” (Read more from “Football Legend Calls for CNN Host to Be Fired for Racist Comments About Kanye West” HERE)

Report: Here Are All the Times CNN Associated Kavanaugh With ‘Rape’ Over 18 Days

A new study by a conservative media watchdog found that CNN anchors associated Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh with “rape” 191 times over just 18 days.

The Media Research Center found that over a period of 18 days, from September 16 through October 3, CNN’s on-air anchors managed to associate Kavanaugh with the uncorroborated allegations of “rape” at a pace of over ten times a day — and that doesn’t include “the many other instances in which the word was used by guests, or by participants at live or replayed news events (such as the hearing on September 27).” . . .

“During the past three weeks, Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has received a deluge of news coverage accusing him of vile crimes, including attempted rape and even organizing gang rapes,” Newsbusters reports. “Though these charges did not originate with the news media, the lack of satisfactory corroborating evidence should have caused ethical reporters to refrain from gratuitously repeating allegations that painted Kavanaugh in a monstrous light. The media have shown no such restraint.” (Read more from “Report: Here Are All the Times CNN Associated Kavanaugh With ‘Rape’ Over 18 Days” HERE)

BOMBSHELL: Lanny Davis Changes Story. CNN Caught in New Reporting Scandal.

Michael Cohen’s lawyer admitted on Monday that he was the anonymous source for a widely-criticized CNN report that claimed Cohen was willing to tell Special Counsel Robert Mueller that President Donald Trump knew in advance about the Trump Tower meeting in which Russians were expected to offer his campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton.

Cohen’s lawyer, Lanny Davis, told CNN’s Anderson Cooper last week that Cohen “does not” have any information that Trump knew about the meeting in advance, saying, “I think the reporting of the story got mixed up in the course of a criminal investigation. We were not the source of the story.”

However, Davis told BuzzFeed News on Monday that he was the source for CNN’s July 26 report — which directly contradicts what he told Cooper. . .

However, Davis admitting that he was the source for the report — which he has since stated was not true — was not the only development to come out of CNN’s report. BuzzFeed News notes:

The original CNN story — broadcast during Chris Cuomo’s prime-time show and written by Jim Sciutto, Marshall Cohen, and Watergate reporting legend Carl Bernstein — said that Davis had “declined to comment.” His involvement in the story, on so-called “background,” has not been previously reported.

Watch: CNN Asks Americans About Cohen, Manafort. Doesn’t Go as Planned.

CNN traveled to a county in North East Pennsylvania that voted for former President Barack Obama twice and asked voters what they thought about the recent legal drama facing the Trump administration surrounding Paul Manafort and Michael Cohen. The voters did not care.

CNN’s Jason Carroll asked three Democrats, three independents, and one Republican about the recent legal developments regarding Trump’s former campaign chairman and former personal attorney.

Registered Democrat Anne Marie Lenahan said that the economy is so strong that she doesn’t have a problem overlooking allegations about Trump’s infidelity, “unless the money came from campaign funds” . . .

Registered Democrats Richard and Eileen Sorokas, who voted for Obama twice, said they wanted to get rid of political correctness, that they are happy with the direction of the stock market, and they see the drama with Manafort and Cohen as a sideshow.

Registered Republican Bob Sellon noted that the ongoing investigations were supposed to be about Russian interference in U.S. elections and he hasn’t seen anything notable come from it. (Read more from “Watch: CNN Asks Americans About Cohen, Manafort. Doesn’t Go as Planned.” HERE)

Cohen Lawyer: CNN Got ‘Bombshell’ Report Mixed Up

A CNN report last month that Michael Cohen has information that President Trump was aware of the infamous Trump Tower meeting before it occurred got “mixed up” and was inaccurate, Cohen attorney Lanny Davis said Wednesday night.

“So Michael Cohen does not have information that President Trump knew about the Trump Tower meeting with the Russians beforehand or even after?” CNN’s Anderson Cooper asked Davis.

“No, he does not,” replied Davis, a longtime Clinton insider who started representing Cohen earlier this summer.

Davis’s bombshell statement severely undercuts a July 27 CNN report that Cohen was willing to tell Special Counsel Robert Mueller that he was in a meeting when Donald Trump Jr. told his father about an offer to meet with a group of Russians who wanted to provide dirt on Hillary Clinton. . .

The report also opened up the possibility that Trump and Trump Jr. publicly lied about the Trump Tower meeting. Trump has said publicly that he did not know about the meeting until a year after it occurred. Trump Jr. told the Senate Judiciary Committee last September that his father did not know about the meeting. (Read more from “Cohen Lawyer: CNN Got ‘Bombshell’ Report Mixed Up” HERE)

Reporter Airs Death Threat Aimed at Co-Host, Himself

CNN’s Brian Stelter, on his Sunday show “Reliable Sources,” aired a death threat that was aimed at both himself and fellow CNN anchor Don Lemon.

Stelter played back audio of a C-SPAN caller who said that, if he ever ran into him or Lemon on the street, he would shoot them.

Stelter made it clear that his goal was not to elicit sympathy, and that he was not actually in fear for his life. “I know some of my colleagues get much worse threats than I do,” he explained. “And CNN has a great security team, and we know how to handle this stuff.” . . .

Stelter conceded that there have “always been unhinged people in the world” — a fact that can’t be tied to President Trump — but ended on a quote from New York Times’ Bret Stephens: “We are approaching a day when blood on the newsroom floor will be blood on the president’s hands.” (Read more from “Reporter Airs Death Threat Aimed at Don Lemon, Himself” HERE)

Sarah Huckabee Sanders OWNS CNN’s Whiny Acosta

In a White House press brief Thursday, while other reporters asked questions on policy or current events, CNN’s Jim Acosta whined to Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders yet again that she “did not say that the press is not the enemy of the people.”

Despite Acosta’s multiple interruptions, Sanders quickly him set him straight.

“Your own network said I should be harassed,” Sanders said. “… As far as I know, I’m the first press secretary in the history of the United States that’s required Secret Service protection. The media continues to ratchet up the verbal assault against the president and everyone in this administration, and certainly we have a role to play, but the media has a role to play for the discourse in this country too.”

According to his own tweet, Acosta walked out of the briefing room after not getting what he wanted.

Because whining seems to be the only way he gets attention.

Bless his narcissistic heart. (For more from the author of “Sarah Huckabee Sanders OWNS CNN’S Whiny Acosta” please click HERE)

CNN Host Pretty Much Told to Get the H**l out of the Oval Office (Again)

It seems CNN’s Jim Acosta just loves being trashed by the Trump White House. It does get him to complain on live television, as if he’s some martyr, a beleaguered journalist under the crushing regime of some authoritarian country. He’s not, but here was another instance where White House staffers had to more or less tell Acosta to get the hell out of the Oval Office. It was a press spray event. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte visited President Trump yesterday.

“This audio is a pretty good example of how the WH aides also known as press wranglers are almost screaming as reporters try to ask questions of Trump in our ‘pool sprays,’” he tweeted after the incident.

The press has been complaining about how Trump treats them. It’s a new world for them; we have a man who actually punches back—and his supporters love it. Even here they’ve overreached, claiming his attacks against the media is somehow dangerous to the country. Spoiler: it’s not. And a friendly reminder: it was Hillary Clinton who first coined the phrase “fake news,” not Trump. The New York Times’ publisher, A. G. Sulzberger, recently relayed his concerns to the president:

President Trump and the publisher of The New York Times, A. G. Sulzberger, engaged in a fierce public clash on Sunday over Mr. Trump’s threats against journalism, after Mr. Sulzberger said the president misrepresented a private meeting and Mr. Trump accused The Times and other papers of putting lives at risk with irresponsible reporting.

[…]

“I told the president directly that I thought that his language was not just divisive but increasingly dangerous,” said Mr. Sulzberger, who became publisher of The Times on Jan. 1.
