Report: GOP Subpoena for Nursing Home Death Data Gets Blocked by New York Dems (VIDEO)

New York State Senate Democrats block a subpoena request Monday for nursing home Covid-19 fatality data, according to a report from the New York Post.

The blockage comes just days after NY Attorney General Letitia James released a report suggesting that Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo may have undercounted nursing home fatalities by as much as 50 percent.

The subpoena was an official motion made during a virtual meeting by Sen. Thomas O’Mara, ranking Republican on the Investigations committee, who said there was more information to be had.

“We talked about [issuing a subpoena] on and off throughout the past year,” O’Mara (R-Elmira) said in a statement to the New York Post.

The motion was blocked by top Democrat Sen. James Skoufis, who argued that the motion was largely moot after state Health Commissioner Howard Zucker was forced to release more detailed information following the attorney general’s report.

More Americans Have Now Been Vaccinated for COVID-19 Than Infected

More Americans have been vaccinated for COVID-19, as of Monday, than have been infected with the illness as the nationwide inoculation rollout continues, according to a report.

According to a Bloomberg Vaccine Tracker, 26.5 million people in the US have now received at least one dose of the vaccine, surpassing the 26.2 million coronavirus cases since the onset of the pandemic.

“It’s worth noting that today, for the first time, the data said that more people were vaccinated than were reported as newly diagnosed cases,” Paula Cannon, a professor at the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine, told the outlet. Study Shows Very Little Transmission in School Without Masks, as Suicide Crisis Intensifies

Shutting down schools or forcing kids to wear masks – either one is likely the greatest crime ever committed against children under the most false pretenses imaginable. New research continues to show that schools are not drivers of spread, not to mention the fact that the virus is not dangerous to children. Meanwhile, children continue to commit suicide in record numbers. This is the evil cost of adult virtue-signaling.

A brand-new study of transmission in Norwegian primary schools from August through November published by the Norwegian Public Institute of Health showed minimal child-to-child and child-to-adult transmission. “This prospective study shows that transmission of SARS-CoV-2 from children under 14 years of age was minimal in primary schools in Oslo and Viken, the two Norwegian counties with the highest COVID-19 incidence and in which 35% of the Norwegian population resides,” concluded the researchers.

Despite systematic testing of all the 234 child contacts twice during quarantine of those children infected, just two primary cases and no secondary cases were identified. Also, among the 58 adult contacts of the infected children, just one primary case and no secondary cases were detected. All the children involved in the study were ages 5-13.

Here’s the kicker: While the reopening of the schools included measures such as “strengthened hygiene measures, physical distancing and a clear message to stay home if symptomatic, even with mild symptoms,” there was one major element missing. “Use of face masks is not recommended in schools in Norway,” according to this study. The Biden Administration Lost 20M COVID-19 Vaccine Doses

The Biden administration isn’t sure about the location of 20 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine that have been sent out to states, according to a new report.

The CDC currently says it has sent almost 50 million doses to the states, but only a little over 31.1 million of that has gone into people’s arms.

But once doses are sent off by the feds, it has been left up to the states to track their whereabouts, Politico reported.

Biden’s team is still trying to locate the remaining 20 million.

About 10 percent of that difference, or 2 million doses, is missing because of lags in reporting from states, Biden’s team believes — meaning the remainder could be sitting in warehouses, in freezers, or in transit in the complex distribution network between the federal government and the states. ‘Never Voting D Again’: Dems Furious After Broken Stimulus Promise

President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party were blasted by their own supporters over the weekend after the Democratic Party made it clear that Biden would be pursuing $1,400 stimulus checks in another coronavirus relief bill — not $2,000 checks like Biden and other Democrats promised.

While campaigning during the Georgia runoff elections, Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, who both won their elections, made COVID relief a central campaign issue.

Biden did, too. While speaking in Atlanta the day before the election, Biden promised that if Democrats took effective control of the Senate by winning both runoff elections, $2,000 stimulus payments would be distributed to Americans immediately. . .

As TheBlaze reported, the details of Biden’s coronavirus relief package were made public about one week before his inauguration. Included in his plan are $1,400 stimulus checks — not the $2,000 checks that he promised. The lower amount is being attributed to the relief package passed in late December, which included $600 stimulus checks. Biden is calling the first check a “down payment” and is adding it to his proposal to achieve the $2,000 promise.

Congressman Has COVID Despite Receiving 2 Vaccines

The office for Rep. Stephen Lynch announced on Friday that the Massachusetts Democrat had tested positive coronavirus. Most interestingly, Lynch’s positive test result came after he received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Spokeswoman Molly Rose Tarpey explained in a statement that Lynch tested positive after coming into contact with a staff member who had testing positive for the virus earlier last week.

“This afternoon U.S. Representative Stephen F. Lynch received a positive test result for COVID-19 Friday after a staff member in the Congressman’s Boston office had tested positive earlier in the week,” Tarpey said, Boston.com reported.

Tarpey explained that Lynch “had received the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine and subsequently received a negative COVID-19 test prior to attending President Biden’s Inauguration. While Mr. Lynch remains asymptomatic and feels fine, he will self-quarantine and will vote by proxy in Congress during the coming week.” (Read more from “Congressman Has COVID Despite Receiving 2 Vaccines” HERE)

Democrats Plan to Ignore GOP in Pursuit of Stimulus

President Joe Biden’s administration and Democrats in Congress have vowed to press forward with the president’s $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package amid Republican objections to the bill’s size, even if they do so without any GOP votes.

Biden has argued that the relief package is not only popular among a majority of Americans but is also necessary to combat the economic toll imposed by the coronavirus pandemic. Though Biden campaigned on a message of unity and bipartisanship, his administration rejected a Republican pitch to split the plan into smaller pieces and has said that it must move quickly to pass the package even if it means doing so without Republicans’ help.

“The very health of our nation is at stake,” Biden said on Jan. 14 when he first introduced his recovery plan. “[It] does not come cheaply, but failure to do so will cost us dearly.”

Biden’s administration has also argued that the package is necessary to beat the pandemic, touting its provisions for vaccine distribution, the reopening of schools and direct relief to American families and small businesses. . .

But as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer reportedly lay the foundations to pass Biden’s bill, some Republicans are optimistic that Biden will change course and revert to his earlier calls for a bipartisan plan. Report: Grandma-Killer Governor Undercounted COVID-19 Deaths in Nursing Homes

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo lied about the number of COVID-19 deaths in nursing homes due to his inadequate leadership and policy that sent infected patients into care facilities during the pandemic.

In a new, lengthy report following months of a highly-anticipated investigation into the deadly neglect, New York state Attorney General Letitia James found that Cuomo, his administration, and the state’s Health Department severely undercounted the number of COVID-related deaths in nursing homes by as much as 50 percent. One example cited in the report shows that a long-term care facility that the state claimed only had 11 deaths from COVID-19 actually lost 40 people to the virus, with more than half occurring at the home. . .

Originally, the state recorded more than 8,500 Wuhan virus deaths of nursing home residents following Cuomo’s March 25, 2020 order, which said elderly patients with COVID-19, discharged from hospitals, should return back to their care facilities. The order extended for more than a month, leading to the infection of thousands of vulnerable people in close quarters with contagious co-residents. These thousands of nursing home infections and deaths were concerning to the families of the patients and to members of the public who questioned the state’s policy to count only COVID-19 deaths that occurred at the facility and ignore the deaths of residents who contracted the virus in their nursing home but later died in the hospital. . .

The attorney general’s finding contradicts an internal report conducted by the state’s Health Department and Cuomo’s claims last summer that the state did nothing wrong and that most of the patients returned to nursing homes “were no longer contagious when admitted and therefore were not a source of infection.” (Read more from “Report: Grandma-Killer Governor Undercounted COVID-19 Deaths in Nursing Homes” HERE)

Colleges Threatening Students Who Ignore COVID-19 Rules

Universities around the U.S. are cutting off students’ Wi-Fi access and their ability to use paid University services if they do not comply with COVID-19 policies.

At the University of Illinois, according to the Daily Illini, students who don’t follow lockdown policies could lose their access to Compass, a tool used to access and submit class assignments.

“And I need to be very clear that students who do not follow all COVID-related expectations face university disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Please note that this semester, students who are out of compliance may also lose access to university Wi-Fi, Zoom, Compass and other technologies,” wrote University of Illinois Chancellor Robert Jones in a January 20 email to students, which was obtained by Campus Reform.

At Boston University, students who fail to get their mandated coronavirus tests or fail to report their symptoms within 48 hours of a warning will have their Student ID Card and Wi-Fi disabled. These students also can’t participate in classes, even remotely, until they have reported back to the university.

At Baylor University in Waco, Texas, punishments depend on how many tests a student misses. (Read more from “Colleges Threatening Students Who Ignore COVID-19 Rules” HERE)

China Explores Anuses for COVID-19 Testing

Chinese authorities have used coronavirus tests that rely on anal swabs as the country reports an uptick in COVID-19 cases.

The tests are typically reserved by health care professionals for high-risk cases, such as those in quarantine sites, according to multiple reports citing state-run channel CCTV.

However, the method was also used in a group of schoolchildren and teachers in Beijing last week, according to multiple reports. Throat and nose swabs were also used in the group.

Nose and anal swabs were also taken from a group of passengers on a flight from Changchun, China, to Beijing on Monday.

Others travelers arriving in Beijing have also been asked to use anal swabs. One woman, who was not identified by name, was asked to use an anal swab in a mandatory hotel quarantine in Beijing alongside several nose and throat tests and a blood test, Bloomberg News reported.
