WATCH: Here’s the Altered Video of Trump That Got a News Staffer Fired

Post a doctored video of Trump on Twitter and you’ll probably end up getting more (left-wing) followers, but air one on live television and you’ll get fired.

That’s what appears to have happened to a staffer at Fox News affiliate Q13 in Seattle after the now-former employee aired what was clearly an altered video of President Trump giving his first ever address to the nation from the Oval Office on the issue of border security.

The video the staffer aired was altered to give Trump an overly-large mouth and to make him at one point push his tongue out in bizarre fashion. The colors of the video were also adjusted to make him look more orange. . .

A local radio station was tipped off about the altered video and produced a side-by-side comparison (see below).

“A listener to my program sent me a video that appears to show a deceptively edited video of President Trump’s speech from the Oval Office,” KTTH’s Todd Herman reported Thursday. “We performed a side-by-side comparison of the video from our listener, apparently taken by a smart phone recording of Q13, to the raw video of Trump’s speech from CNN. That comparison revealed the Q13 video creating a loop of the President licking his lips — making it seem bizarre and unbalanced — it also seems that someone distorted the President’s face and may have added an orange tone to his skin.”

The Dark Arts of the Press Are on Full Display

How remarkable that the same press that obsessed Donald Trump straight into the White House has doubled down once he was there, to the point that the former editor of the New York Times called them out on it a few days ago. And it’s now going full Voldemort — “he who shall not be named” — when it comes to Trump’s Oval Office speech to the country.

And when I say remarkable, I mean totally predictable. Because journalism is magical and not at all broken.

Don Lemon at CNN. Mika at MSNBC. Don’t even run the president’s speech on our networks, they say. Or at the very least delay it so that we can get our, ahem, “fact-checking” underway. So much is at stake, they say.

For example, says Lemon, “people will believe [Trump].” And that. Can’t. Happen.

I mean, he’s Voldemort, remember. You can’t let his “propaganda” go unchecked, says Lemon. Because a man who said he wouldn’t even shake Trump’s hand if presented with the opportunity probably has the market cornered on objectivity.

This is bigger than just Lemon and Mika, though. They’re legion. The number of people in media who resent that we live in a representative republic that must endeavor to put the people’s legitimate desires first, no matter who the president might be, is far, far greater than the number of Constitution-loving people in the U.S. Congress, which is supposed to be serving those interests.

Not good. It’s a swarm of locusts vs. a single can of bug spray.

Such collective drunkenness now has the press inferring out loud that the people are simply too dumb to be left to their own devices. And that the president they elected is simply too terrible to even be listened to on two issues — the government shutdown and immigration — of obvious national importance. And that a properly ordered society, even if it isn’t remotely the form of social contract we actually live under, should depend on a bunch of unelected elites like the press and judges and scientists and Hollywood stars to tell the plebes when it’s time to jump and how high.

Good grief, people. It’s far past time to wake up to the consequences of all this. Because if the press believes it is this reasonable to consider muting the voice of a sitting president of the United States simply because they disagree with him, what do you think they are doing every other day of the week when it comes to shaping the narratives of the day?

The press thinks it is supposed to be deciding what the conversation is, and it is deeply wrong about that. Dangerously wrong. This is a country by, for, and of the people, led in part by an executive branch, whether it be Democrat or Republican or Trumpian, that is entitled to address the country from time to time as it sees fit.

That’s not remotely debatable to anyone who isn’t, quite frankly, an enemy of liberty. That’s not Trump. He’s got a lot of problems, but that’s not one of them.

Media’s Angry Response to President Trump’s Oval Office Speech Comes up Short

A humanitarian and security crisis at the southern border must be addressed, President Donald Trump told the country last night in his first Oval Office address. His speech also addressed the flow of drugs and crime, the high rates of abuse associated with human trafficking, and the use of children as pawns to thwart laws protecting the U.S. border from illegal entry.

“This is the tragic reality of illegal immigration on our southern border. This is the cycle of human suffering that I am determined to end,” Trump said, laying out a plan that includes drug-detection technology, increased border agents and immigration judges, $800 million in humanitarian assistance and medical support, legislative changes to ensure the safe return of children who enter the country illegally, and $5.7 billion for a “physical barrier” to help stop illegal entry.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer quickly responded to the address by saying there’s not really a crisis at the border. They told him that he should end the governmental shutdown, and said they could work on border security concerns in the months to come.

While pundits like to discuss who looked good and who looked bad in last night’s televised addresses, it’s worth pausing in appreciation of the various political leaders for taking part in the debate over national security and the extent of the problem caused by porous borders. Sometimes debates need to take place behind closed doors, but when competing ideologies are on display, it serves as a healthy public education about important issues that affect citizens’ lives.

The Democrats’ theme for the evening was “facts, not fear.” Many major media also adopted the same theme. The coordinated talking point began hours if not days before the speech even aired, with CNN’s Alisyn Camerota saying yesterday morning, “Fact-checkers are eating their Wheaties and getting extra rest since they will be working overtime tonight to separate fact from fiction on this border situation.” (Read more from “Media’s Angry Response to President Trump’s Oval Office Speech Comes up Short” HERE)

Ocasio-Cortez Slammed ICE, but Voted Last Week…to Give ICE More Funding

President Trump delivered his address on border security. It is a crisis. It is a growing humanitarian crisis, despite Democrats and the liberal media saying otherwise. The Trump border security agenda calls for a wall and more funding for our enforcement agencies, like Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ICE has been a prime target for progressives in the 2018 election cycle, being used as fodder for primary challengers.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is one of the most prominent anti-ICE members of Congress, as well as one of the faces of the ascending progressive wing of the party. Last night, on MSNBC, the official network of liberal America, she went on a tear (via Free Beacon):

Ocasio-Cortez, the 29-year-old democratic socialist who was sworn into Congress last week, appeared on MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show” following President Donald Trump’s primetime address to the nation from the Oval Office. During the interview, Maddow asked Ocasio-Cortez to respond to his speech, prompting her to castigate Trump for requesting funding for ICE, an agency she has said should be abolished.

“The president should not be asking for more money to an agency that has systematically violated human rights. The president should be really defending why we are funding such an agency at all because right now what we are seeing is death. Right now what we are seeing is the violation of human rights,” Ocasio-Cortez said.

She argued that the primary reason for undocumented immigrants in the United States is “Visa overstay” versus people crossing over the border illegally. She then went on to accuse Trump of trying to restrict “every form of legal immigration there is in the United States.”

WATCH: Trump Turns Question Around on Reporter Who Can’t Answer It

President Donald Trump turned a question around on a “one-sided” reporter on Wednesday in the Oval Office, which left the reporter fumbling for words and unable to answer the question.

ABC News White House correspondent Jonathan Karl pressed Trump about signing bills so government workers who are being furloughed could be paid. . .

“I mean, I watch your one-sided reporting,” Trump continued. “Do you think I should do that? Hey Jon, no, seriously, Jon: Do you think I should just sign?” . . .

“I’m asking you: Would you do that if you were in my position?” Trump said. “Because if you would do that, you should never be in this position. Because you’d never get anything done.”

Shocking Poll Reveals Number of Americans Who Want to Leave Country for Good

. . .According to a recent Gallup Poll, a full 16% of Americans want to leave the United States for good, which matches the numbers from 2017. What’s significant about the numbers is how much they sharply contrast with the number of Americans who wished to leave during the George W. Bush (11%) or Barack Obama administrations (10%). While Gallup did not inquire upon people’s political leanings when taking the poll, desire to leave was strongest among women and young Americans.

“During the first two years of the Trump administration, a record-high one in five U.S. women (20%) said they would like to move to another country permanently if they could,” reports Gallup. “This is twice the average for women during the Obama (10%) or Bush years (11%) and almost twice the level among men (13%) under Trump. Before the Trump years, there was no difference between men’s and women’s desires to move.”

Obviously, none of this has to do with any of President Trump’s policies, because contrary to the fantastical ruminations of feminists, women do not live in “The Handmaid’s Tail” under this current administration. So if women are so triggered by President Trump that they want to leave, it seemingly has everything to do with his character and rhetoric. . .

For younger Americans under 30, the 30% who wish to leave also represents a significant uptick over earlier years, with 40% of women younger than 30 saying they would like to leave versus 20% of men in the same age group. After age 50, the gap narrows and eventually disappears.

Poorer Americans also desire to migrate at higher levels (20%), more than twice the percentage than during Obama’s term. “So far under Trump, three in 10 Americans (30%) in the poorest 20% say they would like to migrate if they could, compared with an average of 13% under Obama,” reports Gallup. Zero Trump Mentions at 2019 Golden Globes

Hollywood dispensed with what now constitutes years of tradition and declined to even mention Donald Trump at the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday. Not only was the president left out by hosts Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh, but he also went unmentioned by all the evening’s award recipients.

To be sure, there were a few nods made in Trump’s general direction. “Assassination of Gianni Versace” producer Brad Simpson provided perhaps the most overtly political moment of the night by calling on the audience to “resist in the streets, resist in the ballot box.” Christian Bale managed to get in some quick digs at Dick Cheney and Mitch McConnell. But that was about as direct as anyone got.

This marks the first Trump-free Globes ceremony since 2015. By comparison, both the 2017 and 2018 broadcasts were peppered with rebukes of Trump. Meryl Streep delivered her infamous “football and mixed martial arts” jab at the ceremony two years ago. All the way back in 2016, Ricky Gervais joked that Trump couldn’t wait to deport America Ferrera and Eva Longoria. . .

Either way, I suspect audiences will agree with Samberg, who in a preview of the show contended, “Everyone is depressed, and maybe that’s as good a reason as any that everyone could use a little time to laugh and celebrate. Not to ignore anything, but we spend so much time every day wallowing in a lot of things that are happening in  our world that are really depressing… but there’s also power to being positive and celebratory in the tougher times as well.” (Although to accomplish that feat, Samberg and Oh would have actually had to give us some reasons to laugh.) All Four Living Presidents Open up About Their Feelings on Trump’s Border Wall

Last week, President Donald Trump said all four living presidents – Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama – support his push for building a border wall.

“This should have been done by all the presidents that preceded me, and they all know it,” Trump told reporters. “Some of them have told me that we should have done it so, we’re not playing games. We have to do it.” . . .

The Carter Center took to Twitter to release a statement from the former president about his stance on the border wall, saying very clearly he “does not support” Trump’s stance:

“Suggesting that we can build an endless wall along our borders, and blame our challenges on immigrants — that doesn’t just run counter to our history as the world’s melting pot; it contradicts the evidence that our growth and our innovation and our dynamism has always been spurred by our ability to attract strivers from every corner of the globe,” Obama said at Rutgers University in 2016. “That’s how we became America. Why would we want to stop it now?”

Trump Ponders ‘Emergency’ Powers to Build Border Wall

By Washington Times. President Trump said Friday he could declare a national emergency on the border and order his government to build fencing without needing to go to Congress for additional funding.

“I can do it if I want,” he said, adding, “I may do it.”

He said he’s still interested in trying to get a deal done with Congress on funding his border wall plans, but he made clear he hasn’t foreclosed other options for erecting the barrier he promised voters in 2016 would be built and paid for by Mexico.

Mr. Trump last month had raised the prospect of declaring an emergency and asking the Defense Department to construct barriers outside of the normal congressional appropriations process.

The Pentagon at the time said it had not developed those plans, but said it did have legal authority to build a wall if it were deemed part of a counter-drug operation or part of a national emergency. (Read more from “Trump Ponders ‘Emergency’ Powers to Build Border Wall” HERE)

Will Troops Help Build Trump’s Border Wall? No Additional Deployments Planned Yet

By AZ Central. As a partial federal government shutdown nears its third week, President Donald Trump has refused to budge on the central issue in his dispute with congressional Democrats, funding for his proposed wall along the U.S. border with Mexico.

With the debate at a stalemate — Democrats continue to oppose additional money — reports surfaced this week about the possibility of the Trump administration requesting the deployment of additional troops to the border to help build infrastructure.

The troops would help build or upgrade 160 miles of barriers along the Arizona and California borders and would be paid by the Department of Defense, which is unaffected by the shutdown, according to NPR, which cited military sources.

Capt. Bill Speaks, a spokesman for Acting Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan, told The Arizona Republic that “no decisions have been made on additional troops to support the Customs and Border Protection mission at the Southwest border.”

However, he added that the “additional support for CBP is something we continue to discuss with (the Department of Homeland Security),” which is directly impacted by the shutdown. But because it is a law-enforcement agency, many of the front-line agents and officers continue working, without pay. (Read more from “Will Troops Help Build Trump’s Border Wall? Did She Blow the Big Surprise? Why Are Democrats ‘Livid’ at Rashida Tlaib?

Freshman Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) went on the warpath last night. Concerning President Trump, she was quite clear what she wants to do. She wants to go in and “impeach the motherf**ker.” The media tried to ask her questions today about the remarks, she declined. From her social media posts, it looks like she has zero intention of apologizing. And why should she? She’s part of the progressive left, they want Trump gone, and she was honest about it. It’s absurd. It’s crude. It’s not going to happen. It’s all of those things, but at least someone was honest about what they wanted to do. Well, apparently, House Democrats are “livid” at Tlaib (via Politico):

House Democrats are furious that an incoming freshman’s expletive-riddled statement about impeaching Donald Trump has suddenly upended their carefully crafted rhetoric on their plans to take on the president.

Rank-and-file Democrats, immediately fearful of the damage the comment could cause, unloaded on their new colleague Friday morning. Republicans, they argued, would hold it up as proof that Democrats are playing politics rather than pursuing genuine oversight of the president — even if the GOP never showed interest in investigating Trump scandals while it was in power.

“Mueller hasn’t even produced his report yet!” said Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wis.), referring to special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe. “People should cool their jets a little bit, let the prosecutors do their job and finish the investigation.”

“Inappropriate,” added Rep. Jim Costa (D-Calif.). “As elected officials I think we should be expected to set a high bar… It’s not helpful.”
