FBI Twitter Request To Report ‘Extremist’ Friends, Family Doesn’t End Well

The FBI set itself up for disaster Sunday by posting a tweet encouraging Americans “to learn how to spot” signs of extremism among their friends and family members and then turn in those same friends and family members afterward.

“Family members and peers are often best positioned to witness signs of mobilization to violence. Help prevent homegrown violent extremism. Visit go.usa.gov/x6mjf to learn how to spot suspicious behaviors and report them to the #FBI. #NatSec,” the federal agency tweeted.

The tweet provoked widespread, bipartisan backlash, mockery and insults, both from conservatives angry over the bureau’s uneven application of the law, and also from the true liberals who’ve always despised the security state. . .

The anger from the right stemmed from the glaring dichotomy between the Department of Justice’s obsession with the Jan. 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol and its utter lack of interest in the deadly Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots that occurred throughout all of last year (and are still ongoing in certain sectors of the country).

An FBI So Corrupt It Lets Mass Shooters Rampage; Needs to Go

The New York Times reported on March 27 that Syrian-born Colorado mass shooter Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa had been on the FBI’s radar before he murdered 10 people in a grocery store. . .

According to a police affidavit, six days before Alissa shot 10 people to death, he purchased a pistol. That would have required him to pass a federal background check also run by the FBI. It seems the FBI is not very good at this “stopping mass shooters” thing.

This is not an anomaly in the FBI’s history. It in fact appears to be a pattern of negligence. During the Barack Obama presidency, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., grilled FBI Director James Comey about the “known wolf” problem — of 14 Islamist attacks in the U.S. during Obama’s tenure, the FBI had been aware of at least 12 before the violence erupted, and did nothing. . .

While the FBI has been failing to stop terrorist attacks by known threats like these, it has conducted numerous political operations on behalf of Democrats. The ones we know about include Crossfire Hurricane‘s use of federal spy power to affect election outcomes and prevent effective governance by elected Republicans. That operation included spying on Fox News.

In 2020, the FBI sent 15 agents to investigate a rope tied in a loop that hysterical people alleged was a “noose” after a black NASCAR driver was assigned a garage with the rope as its door pull. The FBI investigation determined the rope had been in the same shape and spot since at least 2019. (Read more from “An FBI So Corrupt It Lets Mass Shooters Rampage Needs to Go” HERE)

Declassified Docs Show FBI Spying on Trump Camp Far Wider Than Thought

The scope of the FBI’s spying on the 2016 Trump campaign was much wider than previously thought, according to newly declassified memos obtained by Just the News.

The aim of the Obama administration’s Trump-Russia collusion probe was to find “anyone” in the Republican campaign tied to Russia who was trying to get dirt “damaging” to Clinton, the documents show.

Immediately after opening the probe in July 2016 with a focus on campaign aide George Papadopoulos, FBI agents pressed their source Stephan Halper for information on other Trump campaign figures. They included future Attorney General Jeff Sessions, foreign policy adviser Sam Clovis, campaign chairman Paul Manafort, economic adviser Peter Navarro, future National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and campaign adviser Carter Page.

An early FBI electronic communication from Halper’s undercover work stated: “The Crossfire Hurricane investigative team is attempting to determine if anyone in the Trump campaign is in a position to have received information either directly or indirectly from the Russian Federation regarding the anonymous release of information during the campaign that would be damaging to Hillary Clinton.”

The documents show agents directing an undercover informant to make secret recordings and pressing for intelligence on numerous GOP figures. (Read more from “Declassified Docs Show FBI Spying on Trump Camp Far Wider Than Thought” HERE)

33 Missing Children Rescued in Anti-Human Trafficking Operation in California

A multi-agency anti-human trafficking operation led by the FBI rescued 33 missing children in southern California. The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced the news about the investigation on Friday in a press release.

Operation Lost Angels launched on Jan. 11 and found 33 “vulnerable missing children,” eight of which were said to be being sexually exploited or trafficked when law enforcement saved them, according to the feds.

“Two were recovered multiple times during the operation while on the ‘track,’ a common term used to describe a known location for commercial sex trafficking,” the FBI said. “It is not uncommon for victims who are rescued to return to commercial sex trafficking either voluntarily or by force, fraud, or coercion.”

“This harmful cycle highlights the challenges victims face and those faced by law enforcement when attempting to keep victims from returning to an abusive situation,” the news release stated. “Victims may not self-identify as being trafficked or may not even realize they’re being trafficked.”

The operation resulted in the arrest of a suspected human trafficker on state charges. One of the minors had been unlawfully kidnapped by a parent. (Read more from “33 Missing Children Rescued in Anti-Human Trafficking Operation in California” HERE)

FBI Warns of ‘Substantial’ Danger Ahead of Protests at All 50 State Capitals

The FBI warned in a new memo that explosive devices pose a “substantial” danger at upcoming protests — days ahead of demonstrations planned in all 50 state capitals, according to a report on Friday.

The bulletin from the agency includes a list of devices found over the last eight months targeting the public and law enforcement, noting that infrastructure was also threatened.

“The danger posed to law enforcement officers and the general public from the all the [sic] tactics listed is substantial,” according to the memo obtained by ABC News. . .

The FBI earlier this week warned that armed protests are planned in each state capitol for Sunday — and up until Inauguration Day on Jan. 20. (Read more from “FBI Warns of ‘Substantial’ Danger Ahead of Protests at All 50 State Capitals” HERE)

FBI Releases Photo of Person Accused of Placing Two Explosives Amid DC Protests

The FBI released a photo of a person suspected of placing two homemade bombs at the Democratic and Republican national committees’ headquarters in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.

Along with providing the suspect’s photo, the federal agency announced Thursday night that it is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to a conviction in the case.

The homemade improvised explosive devices were found at the headquarters of the political parties as a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol. (Read more from “FBI Releases Photo of Person Accused of Placing Two Explosives Amid DC Protests” HERE)

FBI Spied on Fox News, New Texts Show

New text messages released Thursday show FBI officials spied on a Fox News executive over the course of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation that targeted President Donald Trump as a secret Russian agent who illegally stole the election from Hillary Clinton in 2016. The FBI surveilled and recorded a phone call between former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos and an unnamed vice president at Fox News, according to a text message sent to fired former FBI official Peter Strzok just weeks before Trump was inaugurated as president in 2017.

Agents were targeting former Trump campaign foreign policy advisor George Papadopoulos, who later pleaded guilty to making false statements to FBI agents during the Russian collusion investigation. The FBI used the Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA, as a legal pretext to investigate and spy on Papadopoulos, as well as former White House National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, and former Trump affiliate Carter Page.

“I know you’re not point on this anymore, but [George Papadopoulos] got a call from the VP at Fox News yesterday, who advised that the government was conducting ‘checks’ on him a few months back,” an unidentified individual whose name is redacted in the report texted to Strzok on January 12, 2017. “I haven’t listed to the exact audio, but I’m guess[ing] that’s the FARA checks that we did with DOJ on our 4 main guys; especially given the article that you pushed yesterday.”

Neither the individual who sent the message to Strzok nor the Fox News executive was named in any of the text messages released on Thursday by Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisc. Strzok was fired from the FBI in 2018 after text messages surfaced showing that he used the Russia collusion investigations as an “insurance policy” to get rid of Trump in the event he became president. The FBI named its investigation of Papadopoulos “Crossfire Typhoon.” (Read more from “FBI Spied on Fox News, New Texts Show” HERE)

FBI Cited Tweet From DNC Operative’s Sister in Analysis of the Steele Dossier’s Most Explosive Allegation

FBI analysts relied on a tweet from the sister of a DNC operative as part of its analysis into the Steele dossier’s most explosive allegation: that the Kremlin was blackmailing Donald Trump with a videotape of him with prostitutes in Russia.

An FBI spreadsheet declassified last week and released on Monday shows that investigators cited an allegation from author and activist Andrea Chalupa.

Chalupa’s sister, Alexandra Chalupa, was a contractor for the Democratic National Committee through at least June 2016. The two sisters have been staunch critics of President Trump, and have helped push the since-debunked allegation that the Trump campaign conspired with Russia to influence the 2016 election.

The spreadsheet, which the FBI provided to two Senate committees, provides the first glimpse inside the FBI’s attempts to prove or disprove allegations in the dossier, which was compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele on behalf of the Clinton campaign and DNC. . .

“An uncorroborated source, journalist and author Andrea Chalupa, was cited in an Australian magazine article dated 1 November 2016 as mentioning Trump having an orgy in Russia,” the FBI analysts wrote in a column labeled “Corroboration/Analyst Notes.” (Read more from “FBI Cited Tweet From DNC Operative’s Sister in Analysis of the Steele Dossier’s Most Explosive Allegation” HERE)

Senators Slam FBI Director for ‘Unacceptable’ Delay Over McCabe Texts

Senate Republican leaders on Tuesday slammed FBI Director Christopher Wray for a “simply unacceptable” delay in providing access to text messages sent by former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley wrote to Wray that they have received just 24 pages of texts, despite the FBI making available to the Justice Department more than 300 pages.

“It is simply unacceptable that we have waited so long to receive so little,” Johnson (R-Wis.) and Grassley (R-Iowa) wrote.

The letter says Johnson’s committee “subpoenaed the FBI for all records related to” a probe of possible Trump campaign links to Russia and “[w]e have waited nearly 70 days to receive these text messages, and when records were actually produced, we received only eight percent of what we know exists.” . . .

President Trump has been pushing for additional disclosures about the FBI’s Russia probe ahead of the Nov. 3 election. Last week, the Justice Department indicated that a long-awaited report from Connecticut US Attorney John Durham would not be released before the election, a bitter disappointment to Republicans. FBI: Chinese, Russian Hackers Pose ‘Very, Very Real Threat’ to Vaccine Research

FBI Director Christopher Wray told a House panel Thursday that foreign hackers, particularly from China and Russia, are trying to steal U.S. coronavirus vaccine research and testing technology and engaging in efforts to disrupt the government’s response to the ongoing pandemic.

During a hearing on threats to America held by the House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Xochitl Torres Small (D-NM) noted:

According to U.S. intelligence officials, Chinese and Russian hackers are using cyber tools to steal American biomedical research used for the development of a COVID-19 [coronavirus disease] vaccine. Officials have also expressed concern about the possibility of Chinese and Russian hackers damaging American efforts to develop a vaccine.

She went on to ask Wray, “What is the department doing to combat foreign hackers and to work with pharmaceutical and academic institutions to strengthen [its] cyber defense capabilities?”

“You’re correct that we are seeing efforts by our foreign adversaries to engage in cyber targeting of [coronavirus disease] vaccine research, testing technology, treatment technology, and efforts to disrupt our national response to the pandemic,” the FBI chief responded.
