After Ghislaine Maxwell Guilty Verdict, Is Prince Andrew Next?; Prince Andrew Defense: Accuser Cannot Sue Because She Isn’t in U.S.

By AP. Prince Andrew wasn’t on trial in the Ghislaine Maxwell sex trafficking case, but her conviction is bad news for the man who is ninth in line to the British throne.

With the conclusion of the Maxwell case, attention will now turn to a U.S. civil suit in which the plaintiff alleges Maxwell and long-time boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein took her to London, New York and the U.S. Virgin Islands to have sex with Andrew when she was underage.

Andrew denies the allegations, but Wednesday’s verdict shows that at least one American jury was willing to believe the young women trafficked by Epstein and Maxwell in a criminal case, where the standard of proof is higher than in civil cases. Prince Andrew Defense: Accuser Cannot Sue Because She Isn’t in U.S.

By AP. A lawsuit by an American who claims Prince Andrew sexually abused her when she was 17 might have to be thrown out because she no longer lives in the U.S., lawyers for the Prince said in a court filing Tuesday.

Attorneys Andrew Brettler and Melissa Lerner wrote that they recently discovered Virginia Giuffre has lived in Australia all but two of the last 19 years and cannot claim she’s a resident of Colorado, where she hasn’t lived since at least 2019. . .

The prince’s lawyers in October asked Judge Lewis A. Kaplan to throw out the lawsuit, saying the prince “never sexually abused or assaulted” Giuffre and they believed she sued Andrew “to achieve another payday at his expense and at the expense of those closest to him.” The lawyers acknowledged that Giuffre may well be a victim of sexual abuse by financier Jeffrey Epstein, who killed himself in 2019 while awaiting a sex trafficking trial. Prison Conditions Could ‘Improve’ for Ghislaine Maxwell After Sentencing

The conditions of Ghislaine Maxwell’s detention could dramatically improve after she is sentenced and assigned to a federal prison following her conviction on five out of six sex trafficking charges, according to experts.

Maxwell, who was convicted on Wednesday, has been held at the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center since her arrest in July 2020. She has described conditions there as “a living hell,” claiming that she was served maggot-ridden food and had to watch as sewage and rats came into her tiny cell.

As a convicted sex offender, Maxwell will be ineligible for placement into a minimum security facility such as the Federal Prison Camp near Alderson, West Virginia—the so-called “Camp Cupcake” where Martha Stewart was detained for five months in 2005. She will instead be placed into an at least low-security prison.

Federal prison expert Justin Paperny, the founder of the prison consulting firm White Collar Advice, told Newsweek on Thursday that Maxwell will likely consider her new home an upgrade regardless of the security level. Ghislaine Maxwell Guilty: What Now?; Epstein Accusers: Conviction Provides a Measure of Justice

By AP. The British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted Wednesday of luring teenage girls to be sexually abused by the American millionaire Jeffrey Epstein.

The verdict capped a monthlong trial featuring sordid accounts of the sexual exploitation of girls as young as 14, told by four women who described being abused as teens in the 1990s and early 2000s at Epstein’s palatial homes in Florida, New York and New Mexico. . .

She faces the likelihood of years in prison — an outcome long sought by women who spent years fighting in civil courts to hold Maxwell accountable for her role in recruiting and grooming Epstein’s teenage victims and sometimes joining in the sexual abuse. Jeffrey Epstein Associate Ghislaine Maxwell Guilty on 5 of 6 Counts in Sex Trafficking Case

By ABC News. A jury has convicted Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime associate of serial sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, on five of six counts related to the abuse and trafficking of underage girls. . .

She showed no visible emotion as the jury’s verdict was read in the New York City courtroom. Following the verdict, her family members exited the courtroom without comment.

The verdict came on the sixth day of jury deliberations, after about 40 hours of deliberation.

“A unanimous jury has found Ghislaine Maxwell guilty of one of the worst crimes imaginable — facilitating and participating in the sexual abuse of children,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a statement following the verdict. “I want to commend the bravery of the girls — now grown women — who stepped out of the shadows and into the courtroom. Their courage and willingness to face their abuser made this case, and today’s result, possible.” (Read more from “Jeffrey Epstein Associate Ghislaine Maxwell Guilty on 5 of 6 Counts in Sex Trafficking Case” HERE)

Epstein Accusers Say Ghislaine Maxwell’s Conviction Provides a Measure of Justice

By New York Times. Ghislaine Maxwell, the former companion to the disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, was convicted on Wednesday of conspiring with him for at least a decade to recruit, groom and sexually abuse underage girls. . .

In her trial, the government called four accusers — two used pseudonyms and one only a partial name — who testified that they had been served up to Mr. Epstein to be sexually abused. Ms. Maxwell was present for some of the abuse, according to the testimony, and played a role in enticing and grooming some of the victims.

Damian Williams, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, said in a statement Wednesday night: “The road to justice has been far too long. But, today, justice has been done. I want to commend the bravery of the girls — now grown women — who stepped out of the shadows and into the courtroom.” (Read more from “Epstein Accusers Say Ghislaine Maxwell’s Conviction Provides a Measure of Justice” HERE)

Judge in Ghislaine Maxwell Case Fears One Thing That Might Derail Trial

By Daily Caller. The judge for the Ghislaine Maxwell trial informed the jury Monday that deliberations would be extended to 6 p.m., an hour longer than normal, due to concerns about the surge in the Omicron variant in New York City.

“We are seeing an astronomical spike in the number of COVID-positive cases in New York City,” Judge Alison Nathan said, according to ABC News.

“We are very simply at a different place regarding the pandemic than we were only one week ago and we now face a high and escalating risk that jurors and/or trial participants may need to quarantine,” she added, according to CNN. “Accordingly, extending deliberations by an hour gives the jury more time each day to continue to engage in its thoughtful deliberations.”

Nathan noted that she would also ask jurors to continue their deliberation through New Years without a break for the holiday, citing the risk that the trial could be disrupted by the rising coronavirus cases.

“In light of the variant, my concern about the interruption of the trial, given the increasing daily risk of exposure to either a juror or trial participant requiring quarantine — it is time to think about having the jury make plans to deliberate until a verdict is reached,” she said, according to ABC News. Ghislaine Maxwell Trial Judge May Have Jurors Deliberate Every Day This Week Until They Reach a Verdict

By New York Post. The jury weighing Ghislaine Maxwell’s fate revealed late Tuesday afternoon that it is “making progress” after its fourth full day of deliberations – and the judge said she may ask the panel to huddle every day this week till it reaches a verdict.

The jurors sent a note to Judge Alison Nathan about 4:45 p.m., writing they were making headway in reaching a verdict.

“Our deliberations are moving along, and we are making progress. We are at a good point,” they wrote.

They then asked to be dismissed at 5 p.m. and return Wednesday at 9 a.m.

Nathan agreed to the request — but also warned the panelists that they should be prepared to deliberate every day this week, including Friday, New Year’s Eve, until they reach a verdict. Jeffrey Epstein’s Cellmate Dishes on the Pedophile’s Final Days

With Ghislaine Maxwell’s current trial, I’m printing what I don’t think may have been already reported. Right after Jeffrey Epstein’s death, his cellmate Bill Mersey sent me this. I’ve held it all this time and have condensed Mersey’s voluminous pages:

“If you didn’t want to kill yourself before, you would after a few days at MCC. Minus trained psychologists, it was inmates who, with a whole three hours’ training, had to watch four Suicide cells on the second floor.

“Inmates were stowed away in 50 square feet with a cellmate and nothing to do but kill themselves. No commissary or phone access. ‘Training’ was mostly ogling the female psychologist teaching it. The pay, 12 cents, up to 40 cents, an hour. . .

“Epstein was soft as a pillow and not prepared to handle this. He requested protective custody. He was scared and he did not get over it. Handling prison constantly occupied his mind. To sleep he’d place an orange prison sock over his eyes. . .

“The prison was abuzz with our new felon. He talked finance, saying, ‘Stocks are like women. You have to study to see what makes them happy. Observe their reaction to international news. Then you can predict their movements and that’s how you win.’ ” (Read more from “Jeffrey Epstein’s Cellmate Dishes on the Pedophile’s Final Days” HERE)

Obama LGBTQ Connection: Ghislaine Maxwell’s ‘Little Black Book’ to Remain Secret

By Bevan Hurley. Ghislaine Maxwell’s “little black book” containing the names and addresses of nearly 2,000 world leaders, celebrities and alleged victims will remain secret. . .

Judge Alison Nathan had previously said she wanted to avoid “needless” namedropping during the trial.

The book was filled with contact details of Ms Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein’s famous friends, including Prince Andrew, and former US presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, and had been mentioned sporadically during her sex-trafficking trial.

Prince Andrew, Mr Clinton and others mentioned in the directory have denied all accusations they were involved in any alleged sexual abuse.

Several entries were mentioned during the prosecution case and released as an exhibit under seal, meaning only jurors and attorneys could view them. (Read more from “Ghislaine Maxwell’s ‘Little Black Book’ to Remain Secret” HERE)

Obama’s LGBTQ Judge Headed for Federal Court of Appeals?

By Ashley Collman, Jacob Shamsian. As [US District Court Judge Alison] Nathan presides over the [Ghislaine Maxwell] trial, she is also preparing for a confirmation vote. President Joe Biden recently selected her for a promotion to the US Court Appeals for the Second Circuit — just one step away from the Supreme Court.

If confirmed, Nathan would be the second openly LGBTQ woman to serve on any federal circuit court, after Second Circuit Judge Beth Robinson, who was also nominated by Biden and confirmed to her position in November. Nathan and her partner, law professor Meg Satterthwaite, have twin sons, according to [the homosexual publication,] The Advocate.

Nathan first became a judge in 2011, when then-President Barack Obama nominated her to serve in the Southern District of New York. At the time of her nomination, Nathan was working as special counsel to the solicitor general of New York, a job she was appointed to by then-New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

. . . Concerned Women for America’s Legislative Action Committee also sent a letter to senators, saying Nathan’s “political activism” called into question “her impartiality and judicial temperament.” They took issue with Nathan’s serving on an LGBTQ issues policy committee on the Obama campaign, and for working pro bono for clients who tried to challenge the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy for gay servicemembers. GHISLAINE MAXWELL TRIAL: Final Accuser Takes Stand; Table of Torture: Maxwell Accuser Felt ‘Frozen’ During Nude Massage on Epstein’s Ranch When She Was 16; Does This Photograph Signal Fresh Legal Danger for Prince Andrew?

By Fox News. A fourth victim took the stand Friday at Ghislaine Maxwell’s Manhattan federal sex-trafficking trial and testified that the British socialite gave her an unsolicited massage and touched her breasts.

Annie Farmer, who has been outspoken about the alleged abuse, used her true identity on the stand. The three prior victims who testified used pseudonyms or first names to protect their privacy.

Farmer said she was 16 when she visited the late financier and Maxwell, now 59, at his sprawling New Mexico ranch in 1996. Her older sister, Maria, worked for Epstein at the time in New York. . .

A month later, Epstein and Maxwell allegedly sexually assaulted her older sister, Maria, at the Ohio compound of Les Wexner, former Victoria’s Secret CEO, according to civil filings. (Read more from “GHISLAINE MAXWELL TRIAL: Final Accuser Takes Stand” HERE)

Does Ghislaine and Epstein Photograph Signal Fresh Legal Danger for Prince Andrew?

By The Daily Beast. Among the photographs published this week as part of prosecution evidence in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial, one image will have sent icy tentacles of dread shooting around the hearts of senior courtiers at Buckingham Palace.

It is a picture of Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein cuddling up to each other outside a wooden structure that Queen Elizabeth’s loyal staff at her Scottish home of Balmoral Castle will have instantly recognized as being her beloved “lunch hut” on the nearby grouse and deer-stalking moor, Glen Beg. Table of Torture: Maxwell Accuser Felt ‘Frozen’ During Nude Massage on Epstein’s Ranch When She Was 16

By New York Post. The fourth and final accuser in Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex-abuse trial took the stand Friday, telling jurors how the alleged madam gave her a nude massage and groped her as a teen at Jeffrey Epstein’s New Mexico ranch.

Annie Farmer — the only accuser to testify using her full name — said she was lured to the ranch after meeting Epstein through her sister months earlier because she thought the duo viewed her as a “student they may want to help.”

Farmer said she was comfortable going to the ranch in part because Maxwell was there and she understood her to be Epstein’s girlfriend.

When she was at the sprawling estate, Epstein and Maxwell took her shopping, bought her a pricey pair of cowboy boots and took her to see the movie “Primal Fear.”

While they were waiting to go into the movie, Epstein and Maxwell “were being very playful with each other, kind of grabbing each other,” Farmer told Assistant US Attorney Lara Pomerantz. Ghislaine Maxwell’s Mysterious Hubby, Once Seduced by Her Power, Now MIA

Ghislaine Maxwell’s future husband became intoxicated by the limelight the beautiful heiress shined on his life.

Now Scott Borgerson, who secretly married Maxwell in 2016, has left her to face the glare of international incrimination alone — while he jaunts around his exclusive coastal New England town in sports cars, often in the company of an attractive new female friend.

Galpal Kris McGinn is a local writer, mother of two high school children and yoga enthusiast who “has an ass that could crack open a walnut” according to one local admirer in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Mass.

Borgerson, 46, Maxwell’s much younger and enigmatic husband, apparently broke up his first marriage to be with the British jetsetter, captivated by the circles of power she made available to him, friends say.

But as lurid details unfold in a Manhattan courtroom of the international sex ring Maxwell, 59, ran with billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, Borgerson remains 200 miles away at the secluded $3.9 million waterfront estate he once shared with the disgraced madam. Accuser Says She Saw Ghislaine Maxwell “Nude and Pregnant”; So Where’s the Baby?

By New York Post. One of Ghislaine Maxwell’s accusers claimed she once saw a photo of the British socialite “nude and pregnant” inside of Jeffrey Epstein’s Florida mansion.

The woman, who testified using only her first name, Carolyn, was asked by defense attorneys at Maxwell’s federal sex-trafficking trial in Manhattan about statements she’d previously made to prosecutors.

“One of your memories about Ms. Maxwell is you claim that you saw a photograph of her in Epstein’s house, pregnant. Correct?” lawyer Jeffrey Pagliuca asked Tuesday, referring to Epstein’s Palm Beach estate.

“Nude and pregnant laying on the –” Carolyn began to respond — at which point Pagliuca interjected, “And pregnant.”

“Yes. There was multiple pictures, nude photos,” the witness replied after a pause. (Read more from “Accuser Says She Saw Ghislaine Maxwell “Nude and Pregnant”; So Where’s the Baby?” HERE)

Ghislaine Maxwell’s Defense Is to Blame the Victims

By CNN. Ghislaine Maxwell is not ready to face the music. Maxwell, the longtime friend and companion of mysterious millionaire and alleged sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein, is on trial for what prosecutors say was her role in a sex-trafficking operation, recruiting underage girls for exploitation by Epstein. Maxwell has pleaded not guilty. Epstein killed himself in jail in 2019, before he could be tried. . .

The women who have accused Epstein of sex crimes made clear that he was not acting alone; they say Maxwell had a clear hand in the operation, and that both Maxwell and Epstein made their wealth, power and connections clear — perhaps a suggestion that the girls brought to Epstein should feel special, and a reminder that Maxwell and Epstein were untouchable.

The good news is that in seeking to hold Maxwell accountable, prosecutors appear to be assessing the whole structure of abuse beyond just the alleged abuser. The bad news is that Maxwell seems to have little remorse or interest in even being honest about what happened. . .

The Maxwell defense thus far has amounted to “memory, manipulation and money,” as Maxwell’s lawyer Bobbi Sternheim put it during her opening statement. In other words: The women testifying can’t accurately remember 20-year-old events; they are manipulating the system by only coming forward recently; and they are chasing a payday, not justice.
