By Breitbart. Republican officials in the House and Senate ripped into the Biden administration after it attempted to redefine what constitutes a recession while concerns mount about a significant decline in economic activity this year.

On Thursday, ahead of a potentially negative GDP report expected later this week — the annualized economic growth rate shrank by 1.6% in the first quarter of this year and appears to have contracted even more in the second — a White House blog post attempted to redefine the term “recession.”

“While some maintain that two consecutive quarters of falling real GDP constitute a recession, that is neither the official definition nor the way economists evaluate the state of the business cycle,” it reads, concluding that it is “unlikely that the decline in GDP in the first quarter of this year — even if followed by another GDP decline in the second quarter — indicates a recession.”

In addition, White House National Economic Council director Brian Deese claimed that a second consecutive quarter of negative GDP growth was technically “not a recession.”

In response, Republicans took to Twitter to rip the Biden team for seeking to redefine what a recession is.

Biden’s Lame Economic Spin Leaves You Wondering if They Even Want to Do What’s Needed to Turn Things Around

By New York Post. White House efforts to spin away the grim facts on the US economy, rather than actually doing anything about it, are now in overdrive.

Thus, with the Bureau of Economic Analysis likely to report Thursday that the economy shrank again in the second quarter after contracting 1.6% in the first, Team Biden is claiming that doesn’t technically constitute a recession, even though it’s the standard interpretation.

“The technical definition [of a recession] is not two negative quarters,” insisted Biden economist Brian Deese on Monday, citing the National Bureau of Economic Research’s broader characterization: “a significant decline in economic activity that is spread across the economy and that lasts more than a few months.” A White House blog post made a similar argument.

Sorry, but even Biden Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen just acknowledged that two consecutive quarters of declining Gross Domestic Product is what economists consider a recession.

Can there be any better proof that the White House knows the economy stinks than its lame attempt to paint six months of falling GDP as not so terrible? (Or does President Joe Biden think fewer goods and services — which is what falling GDP means — is a good thing?) Experts Weigh In: Could Hunter Biden Be Going to Prison?

Experts said recently it was a possible crime that could result in him being sent to prison.

The report noted Biden was registered as a lobbyist for domestic interests but not under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). . .

Meanwhile, George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley addressed the FARA issue, saying, “recent disclosures of additional foreign contacts has only strengthened what was already a strong case.”

Report: Justice Department Weighs Charging Hunter Biden for Tax, Gun Violations

By Breitbart. Hunter Biden could reportedly be charged by the Justice Department for tax violations and lying to law enforcement about illegally purchasing a firearm, as the probe into President Joe Biden’s son comes to a head.

Trump-appointed U.S. prosecutor David Weiss is deliberating whether to charge Hunter for “making a false statement in connection with Biden’s purchase of a firearm at a time he would have been prohibited from doing so because of his acknowledged struggles with drug addiction,” CNN reported Wednesday.

As Breitbart News reported, Hunter may have lied on paperwork he submitted when purchasing a handgun in 2018 by not disclosing his drug additions. Hunter’s sister-in-law, with whom he had an affair, reportedly took his gun and disposed of it. Hunter’s text messages reveal the Secret Service, the FBI, and state law enforcement likely became involved, but without consequences for the president’s son.

The probe, which has been ongoing for years and debated for months among Justice Department officials, also centers on the Biden family’s foreign business schemes while Joe Biden was vice president. During those years, Hunter routinely met with Joe Biden about 30 times at either the White House or the vice president’s residences at the Naval Observatory, Hunter’s laptop from hell revealed. Biden: If You Don’t Support Banning Assault Weapons, ‘You’re Not On The Side Of Police’

President Joe Biden said Monday that Republicans who voted against banning assault rifles are not on the side of police in America.

Speaking virtually to attendees at the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives conference in Orlando, Florida, Biden said that Republicans who refused to ban so-called “weapons of war” are not telling the truth when they claim to support law enforcement. In particular, Biden called out Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and Senators Marco Rubio and Rick Scott (R-FL) for refusing to support Democrats’ gun control efforts.

“Being a cop today is a hell of a lot harder than it’s ever been,” Biden said during his speech. “We expect everything of you. We expect you to be drug counselors to people overdosing at a scene; therapists to couples during a violent confrontation; social workers to kids who have been abandoned. Maybe worst of all, we send you out to do your job on the streets flooded with weapons of war.”

“You hear a lot of politicians say about how much they love you, how much they care about you, they’ll do anything for you,” Biden continued. “In the state you’re in today, Governor [Ron] DeSantis, Sen. [Marco] Rubio, Sen. Rick Scott all opposed banning assault weapons, and Senators Scott and Rubio voted against the bipartisan gun safety law that I signed, the first meaningful gun legislation in nearly thirty years, that you supported. To me, it’s simple. Hunter Biden Evidence Wrongly Labeled Disinformation by FBI: Whistleblower

The FBI’s investigation into Hunter Biden wrongly labeled verified evidence as “disinformation,” agency whistleblowers claimed.

Agents investigating President Joe Biden’s son “opened an assessment which was used by an FBI headquarters team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease,” according to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA). Grassley revealed the claim after his office received “a significant number of protected communications from highly credible whistleblowers” about the investigation. The Republican claimed one of the communications shows “verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation.”

FBI supervisory intelligence agent Brian Auten opened in August 2020 the assessment that was later used by the agency, according to the disclosures. One of the whistleblowers claimed the FBI assistant special agent in charge of the Washington field office, Timothy Thibault, shut down a line of inquiry into Hunter Biden in October 2020 despite some of the details being known to be true at the time.

A whistleblower also said Thibault “ordered closed” an “avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting,” according to Grassley, even though “all of the reporting was either verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants.” The senator said Thibault “ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason as required” and that FBI officials “subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future,” according to the disclosures.

Whistleblowers alleged investigators from an FBI headquarters team “were in communication with FBI agents responsible for the Hunter Biden information targeted by Mr. Auten’s assessment” and that their findings on whether the claims were true or disinformation were placed “in a restricted access sub-file” in September 2020, according to the senator. ‘Squad’ Dem Doesn’t Exactly Give Ringing Endorsement When Asked About Biden 2024

Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., refused to comment Monday when asked whether she supported President Joe Biden running for a second term.

“Do you want to see Joe Biden run for a second term?” Bush was asked during an interview at her campaign headquarters Monday with 5 On Your Side.

“She’s got to go,” a campaign aide could be heard saying off camera.

“That’s an easy question. It’s not going to take long,” 5 On Your Side’s Mark Maxwell asked her.

“I don’t want to answer that question because we have not — that’s not — yeah, I don’t want to answer that question,” Bush said, appearing to be caught off guard. “I mean, he’s the president. He has the right to run for a second term, absolutely. But I don’t want to … I’d rather you not ask that question.”

Media Sugarcoat 79-Year-Old Biden’s Covid Test After Threatening School, Church, And Work Could Kill You

Remember when bureaucrats and talking heads warned you ominously that Covid was so arbitrarily deadly that you couldn’t go to church, your kids couldn’t go to school, and you couldn’t have Christmas dinner with your family? If you didn’t triple-mask, you were killing grandmas. And if you came down with the virus? Boy, were you a selfish, evil person clearly set on trying to kill us all. . .

And yet, now that President Joe Biden has contracted Covid, all those people who warned you the virus should leave you in constant fear for your life are awkwardly trying to avoid eye contact. We all wish the president well in his recovery. At 78, Biden is at a far higher risk for severe Covid complications than the average American, and far more vulnerable than the millions of schoolchildren that were banned from their classrooms by the Covid gatekeepers. But are those gatekeepers as worried now as they told you to be?

“Biden’s age puts him at risk for severe Covid, but experts predict boosters and Paxlovid will aid in a quick recovery,” NBC News assures us. “President Biden, double-boosted, is in a good position to fight covid,” adds The Washington Post.

My personal favorite, also from WaPo: “Biden’s covid diagnosis shows the benefits of avoiding infection.” (In other words, Biden getting sick shows the benefits of avoiding sickness — real J-school brilliance there.) Writer Philip Bump brushes off Biden’s positive test as “inevitable” for “a guy who meets a lot of people and does a lot of traveling, after all” — a far cry from the blame game major media outlets played when former President Donald Trump contracted the virus — before pitifully trying to justify why Trump was reckless for contracting Covid while Biden was not for doing the same thing. Trump Says Pence Refusing to Overturn Election Led to Russia-Ukraine War

Former President Donald Trump has argued that the Russian invasion of Ukraine “never would have happened” if former Vice President Mike Pence had overturned President Joe Biden’s 2020 election win.

Trump said in a statement on Thursday night just before a prime-time hearing of the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the U.S. Capitol that Pence’s unwillingness to block Biden’s win on the day of the riot was responsible for everything from the war, to inflation, high gas prices and the botched withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan. The former president also shared the statement to his Truth Social account as the hearing was airing live.

Trump’s statement said that Pence had told him “and everybody else” that “there was nothing he could do about the Electoral Vote Count–it was etched in stone.” Trump argued that Pence was incorrect since “the Democrats and RINOs,” or Republicans in name only, were currently “working so hard to make sure there is nothing a VP can do” to change an election outcome. . .

LOL: Biden Promised 1 Year Ago Today Shots Would Prevent COVID

It was one year ago today when President Biden promised Americans that if they got vaccinated they would not contract COVID-19.

On Thursday, after four COVID-19 shots, the White House announced that the president had tested positive for the disease and was experiencing mild symptoms while isolating from his staff.

Nevertheless, Biden said Wednesday in response to a reporter’s question that his plan to address a rise in COVID-19 cases was that Americans should be “getting vaccinated.”

The administration finally, reluctantly, has acknowledged the shots don’t stop infection or transmission but continues to insist they prevent severe illness, hospitalization and death.

Biden’s top coronavirus adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci – who tested positive for COVID-19 last month after being quadruple vaccinated – acknowledged in a recent interview that the COVID vaccines “don’t protect overly well” from infection. Biden’s ‘Green Energy’ Push Is About to Cost 8,000 Americans Their Jobs

While President Joe Biden has heralded Ford Motor Company as an example of a U.S. entity following his dictates for a “transition” from fossil fuels to alternative (read: more expensive and less reliable) energy, it turns out the exemplar of “Made in America” might also mean “fired in America” as the company struggles to rise to Biden’s challenge while remaining profitable.

According to new reporting from Reuters, around 8,000 Ford employees’ jobs are on the chopping block as the automaker tries to shift to an electric vehicle business despite trailing successful EV producers like Elon Musk’s Tesla — a company President Biden has ignored despite its success.

The 8,000 Ford jobs in jeopardy, according to Reuters, are part of “a bid to reduce costs and intensify its focus on electric vehicles” and will be made to “Ford’s salaried workforce, as well as the Ford Blue unit created in March to run the company’s internal combustion engine operations.” The positions to be eliminated have, according to Reuters’ sources, not been finalized but the cuts “are likely to begin this summer.” (Read more from “Biden’s ‘Green Energy’ Push Is About to Cost 8,000 Americans Their Jobs” HERE)
