Biden Admin Pressured to Embrace COVID Passports

Health experts are calling on the Biden administration to do more to encourage and promote the use of vaccine mandates and passports.

So far, the White House has stayed out of what they view as an issue for private employers.

The Biden administration has repeatedly said vaccine passports won’t be implemented at the federal level but has not discouraged individual companies from making the personal choice of implementing one.

Officials have also shied away from using mandates among federal employees or among military forces.

“If a company, a business wants to take steps to keep their workers and their passengers safe, I would think that, from a government perspective, we want to do everything we can to encourage that,” Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg said recently. Kamala Harris Doesn’t Actually Visit Border, Says Nothing of Substance, Leaves — It Was All Theater

Kamala Harris went to the border Friday for the first time as vice president, some three months after President Joe Biden put her in charge of the ongoing (and worsening) migrant crisis. . .

But it doesn’t really matter where the vice president goes, or when. Her trip to El Paso, like her trip to Mexico and Guatemala, is pure theater. As soon as Harris’s plane landed, the show began. Asked on the tarmac why she decided now was the right time to make her first trip to the border as vice president, Harris repeated the awkwardly obvious lie that she has “been to the border many times,” before regurgitating the absurd talking points that she had to go to Central America first to understand the “root causes” of migration.

Things didn’t improve from there. For one thing, Harris didn’t even go to the actual border. She visited a Border Patrol station about nine miles from the Rio Grande, talked to some immigration activists and legal service providers, posed for press photos back at the airport, and departed for Los Angeles before 1 p.m. Even the choice of El Paso was pure theatrics. Instead of going to the epicenter of the crisis, on the other end of Texas in the Rio Grande Valley, Harris reportedly chose El Paso because that’s where the Trump administration first implemented its short-lived family separation policy. Politics, not the harsh realities on the border, was her motivation.

None of this comes as a surprise. By now we’ve come to expect cursory and substance-less border theatrics from this administration, along with reckless policy decisions like ending the “Remain in Mexico” program, which probably did more than anything else to stave off the migrant surge that was unleashed when Biden signed the order. By New York Post. . .Vice President Kamala Harris appeared to remind President Biden to mention the deadly South Florida condo collapse before leaving a White House event Thursday.

Biden had given remarks on infrastructure and taken questions from the press on that issue as well as voting rights. He then attempted to wrap up by telling reporters “I’ve got to get to a helicopter” before Harris approached.

The president and vice president exchanged a brief, whispered conversation that concluded with Harris saying, “Florida, yeah.”

“Oh, yes. I apologize,” Biden said, turning back to the microphone as Harris retreated out of camera view. “Yes, thank you, Madame Vice President.”

Florida Condo Collapse: At Least 1 Dead, Nearly 100 Unaccounted For

By USA Today. Nearly 100 people remain unaccounted for Friday morning, a day after a 12-story beachfront condominium building just north of Miami collapsed, killing at least one person.

A wing of the residential building in Surfside, Florida, came down with a roar around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. On video footage captured from nearby, the center of the building appeared to fall first, with a section nearest the ocean teetering and coming down seconds later as a huge dust cloud swallowed the neighborhood.

Fire Rescue personnel and others worked through the night Thursday in hopes of finding survivors.

Early Friday, President Joe Biden declared a state of emergency authorizing funding and other disaster relief to Surfside, a small, tight-knit community with about 6,000 residents.

Residents screamed for help as they sought to flee the building , and some were plucked from the building by firefighters using ladders. Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett confirmed that at least one person had died but warned the death toll was likely to rise. Security Footage Shows Florida Condo Being Pelted With Debris Moments Before Collapse

By New York Post. A resident of the partially collapsed 12-story beachfront Florida condo shared dramatic home security footage of her apartment, seconds before the building gave way.

Rosie Santana’s life was likely spared because she was not at her condo at the moment of collapse Thursday morning, the woman tweeted.

White hail-like debris from the collapsing structure can be seen and heard pelting her living room, before the camera abruptly went dark after 13 seconds.

“I am a resident of one of the condos on the side of the collapse,” Santana wrote, less than three hours after the 1:30 a.m. catastrophe.

President Biden on Thursday repeatedly whispered to reporters during an impromptu press conference at the White House — drawing bemused social media speculation and jokes about the “really creepy” exchanges.

On three separate occasions, Biden hunched over his lectern in the White House East Room and forcefully whispered to reporters. . .

When asked about additional relief for families, Biden whispered toward PBS reporter Yamiche Alcindor: “I got them $1.9 trillion in relief so far. They’re going to be getting checks in the mail that are consequential this week for childcare.”

Later, when asked by CNN reporter Phil Mattingly about how the deal was brokered despite low expectations, Biden said in a normal speaking voice that he always thought the outlook was good. . .

Dropping to a whisper and stooping his head as his eyes grew wide, Biden added: “I wrote the bill on the environment. Why would I not be for it?”

Joe Biden: ‘A Range of Programs’ Are Needed for Americans to Not ‘Pull the Trigger’ (VIDEO)

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden delivered remarks Wednesday on the administration’s strategy to prevent gun crimes across the country when he said there is “a range of programs” he believes are needed to keep Americans from pulling the trigger.

A reporter asked Biden what he feels would be the “most effective thing that government can do to change the mindset of those who feel compelled to pull the triggers” of guns.

Biden said in response to the question that one could hope to change the mindset of people by “being engaged in a whole range of programs.”

He continued to say that involves “everything from mental health programs” to start engaging with people earlier on and “letting them know there’s other options.”

We need to be “making sure that when a child is young, they have access to real education, they get started off on the right foot,” Biden continued.

Biden Touts New Crime Prevention Strategy Focused on Gun Control

By Fox News. President Biden in remarks Wednesday said his crime prevention strategy would focus on strengthening background checks, banning assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, and boosting community policing.

Biden met with state and local leaders and law enforcement officials ahead of his remarks to talk crime prevention strategy, amid a surge in violence in cities across the U.S.

Both Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland, who spoke before him, pointed to a historic rise in crime in the summertime, and said that rise “may be more pronounced” as the nation comes out of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The White House has insisted curbing gun violence is key to tamping down a “staggering” surge of crime across the U.S.

Crowd Laughs at Jill Biden as She Promotes COVID Shots

. . .Jill Biden was dispatched on a vaccination promotion tour this week, and after criticizing a crowd in Tennessee for the state’s low vaccination rate, was laughed at.

According to Twitchy, her appearance “did not go well. According to The Tennessean’s Brett Kelman, she was booed and then the crowd laughed at her response when she lectured them on the state’s low vaccination rate.”

Kelman, in fact, explained that the event actually was missing “what it needed most – people getting vaccinated.”

“It appeared that only a few dozen vaccine recipients trickled through the pop-up vaccination clinic at the Ole Smoky Distillery south of Lower Broadway on Tuesday afternoon, and when Biden arrived at the event, only about 10 were there to greet her. Biden shook hands and thanked the small group, then leaned in close to comfort a teen at the moment she got her shot,” he explained. President Joe Biden is considering ending former President Donald Trump’s Title 42 expulsion order after pressure from health officials and leftist groups to stop turning away thousands of illegal aliens at the Southern U.S. border, Axios reports.

The Trump administration originally established Title 42 to keep migrants from flooding the border during the COVID-19 pandemic but the Biden administration, which has repeatedly claimed without evidence that the White House does not support swaths of illegal aliens making the trek to the U.S.

“I can say quite clearly: Don’t come,” Biden told ABC in March. Now, Biden is looking to end the Trump administration’s policy, which would welcome migrants, as early as July. Polygamy May Complicate Biden’s Plans for Afghan Visas, Migration

President Joe Biden’s deputies are fast-tracking exit visas for many thousands of Afghan men ahead of the looming U.S. military withdrawal — but they face a legal hurdle if they also want to give visas to all the wives of applicants in polygamous Islamic marriages.

Polygamy may complicate Biden’s efforts to admit into the U.S. the families of Afghans eligible for Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs), available to people who face threats because of work they did for the American government and military, many times risking their lives in combat zones.

Current U.S. government guidelines may require SIV applicants with several wives to break up their families to be eligible for admission into the United States, Breitbart News learned from the State Department, which oversees the visa application process.

Under current State Department guidelines, the spouse and unmarried children under age 21 may accompany Afghans who receive a special immigrant visa into the United States for working for the U.S. government and the American military —two distinct programs. Impeach Biden? What Joe Did to Ukraine Is Worse Than What Trump Did

By Breitbart. President Joe Biden’s administration allegedly suspended $100 million in “lethal” aid to Ukraine ahead of his summit this week with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Without denying that allegation directly, White House Press Secretary said Friday that the administration gave $150 million in aid — including “lethal” aid — to Ukraine last week, and had spent the amount appropriated by Congress. . .

If the allegation — reported by the Washington Post and confirmed by Politico — is true, then what Biden did is far worse than what Trump did in 2019, when he was accused of withholding military aid from Ukraine until it investigated Joe Biden for corruption. In fact, Trump had already provided crucial Javelin anti-tank missiles months before the hold on additional “security assistance” to Ukraine Moreover, the aid that was withheld was future funding, not ongoing funding.

It was also never clear that Ukraine was even aware that the Trump administration had withheld the aid, which was soon delivered anyway. And Ukraine was not the only country from which the Trump administration had withheld funds, over concerns about corruption and other issues. . .

Biden Freezes Military Aid to Ukraine After Putin Summit as Leaders Plea for Help

As Russia mounted 100,000 troops on the Ukrainian border in March, the White House and the Department of Defense readied a $100 million military assistance package that was frozen once President Joe Biden announced a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to reports.

The Russian troop buildup, allegedly for unannounced military exercises, coincided with smaller American exercises in the Black Sea region. A previous buildup in eastern Ukraine led to the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and a protracted war that simmers seven years later. As Putin massed attack helicopters and aircraft on the eastern Ukrainian border, Biden and NATO leaders condemned Russia and called for a drawdown but made no public offers of military assistance. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urgently called for entry into NATO and the military weaponry his country lacks.

“Russia is not the entity that takes words seriously,” Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told the Washington Examiner at a June 3 meeting in Kyiv.

Despite Campaign Promises, Majority Could See Tax Increase Under Biden Proposals

An analysis by the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center found 60% of households would face a higher tax burden under President Joe Biden’s proposals.

“For those looking to see if Biden kept his promise to not raise taxes for those making $400,000 or less, the answer is: mostly, but not entirely,” said Tax Policy Center senior fellow Howard Gleckman. “Including corporate tax increases, most households would pay more in 2022. About three-quarters of middle-income households would face a tax increase averaging about $300. But nearly all would be a result of those higher corporate taxes.”

Biden pledged during the 2020 campaign not to raise taxes on people making less than $400,000, but the analysis shows the majority would see at least some increased taxes from his proposals. Roughly three-quarters of households earning between $75,000 and $100,000 would see their burden rise about $440, while 69% of those making between $100,000 and $200,000 would see an increase of $830 on average.

The increased tax burden continues to rise the more a household makes, with 83.7% of households in the $200,000-$500,000 bracket seeing an increase averaging $2,040. The highest burden falls on those making above $500,000, with 99.8% of those between $500,000-$1 million seeing an increase of $8,810 and those making over $1 million seeing an average increase of $265,939.
