In an open letter released Sunday, Pro-Life Evangelicals for Biden urged him to “honor his commitment” and include the Hyde Amendment in Democrats’ $1.9 trillion COVID-19 spending package, writing “we feel used and betrayed.” The letter states:

We are very disappointed about the COVID-19 relief package’s exclusion of the Hyde Amendment, a longstanding bipartisan policy that prevents taxpayer funding for abortion. We’re even more upset that the Biden administration is supporting this bill. As pro-life leaders in the evangelical community, we publicly supported President Biden’s candidacy with the understanding that there would be engagement [with] us on the issue of abortion and particularly the Hyde Amendment …We feel used and betrayed and have no intention of simply watching these kinds of efforts happen from the sidelines.

. . .During an Atlanta Democratic National Convention Committee event in 2019, Biden announced that he no longer supported the Hyde Amendment—which has been included on a bipartisan basis in federal spending bills since 1976. The Hyde Amendment restricts federal taxpayer dollars from funding many abortions.

The Chinese Communist Party Reveals a New Demand for Biden

The Chinese Communist Party is demanding President Joe Biden roll back former President Donald Trump’s policy of supporting Taiwan, a democratic island China claims as their own. According to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Trump’s support of Taiwan is a “dangerous practice” that the United States must move away from.

The fight between Taiwan and China goes back to the 1940s. Taiwan broke from mainland China in 1949 and established a democratic society. The Chinese Communist Party, however, still attempts to impose rules and regulations on the island.

During a press conference on Sunday, Wang said China’s claim on Taiwan is an “insurmountable red line” that the Chinese government refuses to back away from, the Associated Press reported.

“The Chinese government has no room for compromise,” Wang said. “We urge the new U.S. administration to fully understand the high sensitivity of the Taiwan issue” and “completely change the previous administration’s dangerous practices of ‘crossing the line’ and ‘playing with fire.”

During this week’s broadcast of FNC’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) took a swipe at President Joe Biden, who he argued had been absent from the forefront on foreign policy. . .

“You have to wonder whether or not the transition to Harris has already begun,” Gaetz said. “Joe Biden’s had more nap time than he’s had questions from reporters. And you’re right. While the Middle Kingdom grows more ambitious in their goals, we are still toiling away in the Middle East. White House Makes Pathetic Excuse for Biden’s Lack of Press Conferences

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki on Friday said that President Biden hasn’t held a single solo press conference during his first 45 days in office because he’s busy with “historic crises” linked to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Psaki fended off a reporter’s questions about why Biden has not held an early-term question-and-answer forum — in a break from his recent predecessors — by pointing to Biden’s occasional one or two-question exchanges with reporters.

“He’s answered questions. I believe that count is almost 40 times. And I would say that his focus, again, is on getting recovery and relief to the American people and he looks forward to continuing to engage with all of you and to members of the — other members of the media who aren’t here today, and we’ll look forward to letting you know as soon as the press conference is set,” Psaki said at her daily press briefing.

Psaki was grilled Friday by reporters on a mounting migrant crisis on the Mexican border. Republicans say Biden caused the crisis by relaxing former President Donald Trump’s policies on asylum and illegal immigration.

Other presidents took office during historic crises but held press conferences. Former President Barack Obama, for example, inherited a financial system crisis but held his first press conference after less than three weeks on Feb. 9, 2009. Joe Biden’s Executive Order on Voting Tells Agencies To Push Vote-by-Mail, ‘Combat Misinformation’

President Joe Biden issued an executive order on “access to voting” on Sunday that instructs federal government agencies to promote voter registration, help Americans apply to vote by mail, and “combat misinformation,” among other measures. . .

One provision states: “It is the responsibility of the Federal Government to expand access to, and education about, voter registration and election information, and to combat misinformation, in order to enable all eligible Americans to participate in our democracy.”

Legitimate (and accurate) news stories on the business dealings of Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, were suppressed by social media companies and mainstream media outlets during the 2020 election under the guise of fighting such “misinformation.”

The list of measures in the Executive Order parallels those included in Democrats’ legislation, H.R. 1, the “For the People Act,” which intends to override state measures that bolster ballot integrity. By WND. Amid a surge of migrant families and unaccompanied children, former President Trump on Friday issued a statement scolding President Biden for a “spiraling tsunami” at the border.

“Our border is now totally out of control thanks to the disastrous leadership of Joe Biden,” Trump said. “Our great Border Patrol and ICE agents have been disrespected, demeaned, and mocked by the Biden Administration. A mass incursion into the country by people who should not be here is happening on an hourly basis, getting worse by the minute.” . . .

“The spiraling tsunami at the border is overwhelming local communities, depleting budgets, crowding hospitals, and taking jobs from legal American workers,” he said.

Trump said that when he left office, his administration “had achieved the most secure border in our country’s history.”

Biden Administration Refuses To Say Middle East Militias Are Iran-Backed

President Joe Biden’s Pentagon press secretary John Kirby refused to link Iran to Shia militias operating in Iraq that launch frequent attacks on U.S. troops and other allies in the region.

Speaking to reporters Wednesday after an attack on Iraq’s Ain al-Asad Airbase, where an American contractor died of a heart attack this week, Kirby refused to say the Shia Iraqi militias, which likely carried out the strike, were aligned with Iran.

“When you say Shia-backed militias, do you mean Shia militias or Iran-backed?” one reporter asked to clarify during Wednesday’s briefing.

Former Green Beret: Joe Biden Hasn’t Found Country He Doesn’t ‘Want To Give Trillions To or Invade’

Former Green Beret and Gold Star husband Joe Kent told Breitbart News there is a sharp divide between America First principles and the actions of the Joe Biden administration.

Kent is challenging incumbent U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) in a primary after Beutler joined 9 other Republicans and the Democrats in impeaching former President Donald Trump in January.

Kent said after nearly two decades of “almost continuous combat” and the loss of his wife, Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer Shannon Kent, to a suicide bomber while she was deployed in 2019 to Syria fighting ISIS, President Trump appealed to him because Trump contrasted the “rhetoric of both parties on why we needed to stay deeply involved in the Middle East and in these wars that never seem to benefit us.”

He argued the U.S. was involved in wars because “our elected leaders had too much hubris to say that they had gotten it wrong and they continued to double and triple down” on failure.

“President Trump’s foreign policy ties directly into his domestic policy getting us to a point where we are energy independent here makes it so that we don’t need to be involved in these endless wars in the Middle East,” Kent said. Joe Biden’s Cringe-Worthy Remarks About Indian-Americans

It’s not the worst thing on the record, but Joe Biden just needs to stick to the script. I mean, he’s already having difficulty with that, so let’s not overwhelm him. And it doesn’t help that it was an awkward moment with an ethnic group he’s denigrated before. The president said that Indian Americans are taking over the country during a call with NASA scientists who successfully landed a rover on Mars (via Washington Examiner):

President Biden quipped that Americans of Indian descent are taking over the country during a call to congratulate NASA scientists and engineers, led by Swati Mohan, whose team successfully landed the Perseverance rover on Mars.

Biden was quick to put his words in the context of celebrating the diversity of America, but the line could be added to the 78-year-old’s list of awkward comments.

Perseverance traveled about 300 million miles before landing on Mars two weeks ago as part of a study to establish whether the planet ever hosted life.

The president, who has had a career of verbal slips and a tendency to speak in a folksy manner, spoke to the team behind the Mars mission in a video conference call on Thursday evening.

GOP Grills Biden Nominee for Top Defense Post

Republicans on the Senate Armed Services Committee hammered President Joe Biden’s nominee for a top Pentagon post over his support for the Iranian nuclear deal, his criticism of the U.S. embassy’s move to Jerusalem, and his history of “inflammatory” comments against Republicans and members of Congress on Twitter.

Republican members on Thursday cited numerous heated public statements by Colin Kahl, a former Obama State Department official whom Biden tapped for undersecretary of defense for policy, including some of his Twitter posts reported by the Washington Free Beacon on Thursday.

In one tweet, Kahl called the Republicans “the party of ethnic cleansing,” and in another he claimed that critics of the Iran deal “won’t be satisfied until they get the war they’ve pushed for decades.” Kahl’s Twitter feed includes numerous barbs at individual Republican senators, as well as the party as a whole, which he described in 2017 as “a clown show.”

Sen. Jim Inhofe (R., Okla.), the ranking member on the committee, said, “What concerns me here is that hyper-partisanship, especially in regards to our national security, is inappropriate for a position of undersecretary of defense for policy.”
