Pelosi ‘Confident’ Democrats Will Keep House in 2022

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, dismissing poll numbers warning of a GOP takeover in 2022, said she believes Democrats will hold on to the majority.

“I’m very confident that we will win the House,” Pelosi told reporters on Friday. House Republicans would need to net about five seats in the 435-member chamber to reclaim the majority the party lost in 2018.

The California Democrat dismissed warnings from internal pollsters that the party would lose the House if the election were held now.

The dismal analysis was presented to Democratic lawmakers by the head of the House Democratic campaign arm, Rep. Sean Maloney of New York, according to Politico.

According to the polling, only 42% of likely voters in key swing districts trust Democrats to handle the economy. (Read more from “Pelosi ‘Confident’ Democrats Will Keep House in 2022” HERE)

Banks: This is What Pelosi Doesn’t Want America to Know About Security Breakdown on January 6

. . .Republican Study Committee Chairman Jim Banks, who was kicked off of the January 6th commission by Pelosi last week, is giving voice to Capitol Police Officers who want to adequately protect members of Congress in the future by thoroughly investigating past failures.

“The police response to January 6th represents a disastrous collapse of leadership that was not simply an aberration confirmed to one day. It was months and years in the making. To fully understand why our officers felt so abandoned, requires an understanding of how they came to be left uninformed and lacking in defenses when it mattered most – when an attack on the U.S. Capitol was fully realized,” United States Capitol Police Labor Committee Chairman Gus Papathanasiou released in a statement and highlighted by Banks. “Most importantly, we arrived at that position of vulnerability because the voices of the rank-and-file-officers had been ignored for years. There was no collaboration from Capitol Police leaders with the frontline officer, instead it was a top-down approach that left a void of information and planning. As an officer working that day, I can attest, there was NO plan, and certainly no contingency plans by the Chiefs. That lack of leadership had traffic consequences.”

Pelosi Orders Police to Arrest Mask Mandate Defiers

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Thursday gave her absolute, unconditional surrender to the Chinese coronavirus by forcing Congressional members and staff to wear special “well-fitted” super masks, before ordering the U.S. Capitol Police to arrest those who do not comply.

In a Capitol Police Bulletin she specified “all USCP personnel must wear a mask at all times when in interior spaces throughout the Capitol Grounds.” Additionally, she directed officers who work on the House side of the Capitol to “enforce” the policy on staff and visitors.

However, it noted that applies to members, any of the defiers should not be arrest but “reported to the House Sergeant at Arms’ office” to be dealt with. The order states visitors and staff who refuse to comply with her orders, after being warned once, and refuses “comply or leave the premises after being asked to do so would be subject to an arrest for Unlawful Entry.” . . .

“If staffers, who are accompanying a Member, refuses to wear a mask, that refusal should be noted and reported to a supervisor who will, in turn, refer the matter to the House Sergeant at Arms,” the noticed stated. (Read more from “Pelosi Orders Police to Arrest Mask Mandate Defiers” HERE)

Pelosi Adds Adam Kinzinger to Jan. 6 Commission, Doubles Down on Ousting Trump Allies

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi added Republican Illinois Rep. Adam Kinzinger to her Jan. 6 commission.

Pelosi told ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos that she planned to make the addition during a Sunday morning appearance on “This Week,” and within hours reports began circulating that he had been added. Pelosi also defended her decision to reject Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jim Banks of Indiana from the group.

Stephanopoulos began by asking Pelosi about her decision to remove Jordan and Banks from the bipartisan commission, noting that Republicans had been very critical of the move.

“I believe the work of this committee, in order to retain the confidence of the American people, must act in a way that has no partisanship, is all about patriotism and I’m very proud of the members of the committee and I’m certain they will accomplish that goal,” Pelosi replied. “We have to, again, ignore the antics of those who do not want to find the truth. We will find the truth. That truth will have the confidence of the American people because it will be done patriotically and not in a partisan way.”

Speaker Pelosi Blocks Trump Allies From Jan. 6 Committee; Dem Rep.: Trump Has To Testify Before Capitol Protest Commission; Jim Banks Unloads On Pelosi, Vows To Get Jan. 6 Answers Via GOP Panel

By The Washington Times. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Wednesday she has blocked Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio and Jim Banks of Indiana from serving on the Jan. 6 select committee, citing concerns over the “impact their appointments may have on the integrity of the investigation.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy tapped Mr. Jordan and Mr. Banks, both conservative firebrands, for the panel this week, along with Reps. Rodney Davis of Illinois, Kelly Armstrong of North Dakota, and Troy Nehls of Texas.

“With respect for the integrity of the investigation, with an insistence on the truth and with concern about statements made and actions taken by these members, I must reject the recommendations of Representatives Banks and Jordan to the Select Committee,” Ms. Pelosi said in a statement. Dem Rep.: Trump Has To Testify Before Capitol Riot Commission

By Breitbart. Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA) said Wednesday on CNN’s “Situation Room” that the House Select Committee on the January 6 Capitol riots will have to hear testimony from former President Donald Trump. . .

Acosta asked, “On the January 6 Committee, should they try to bring in former President Trump to testify?

Khanna replied, “Yes, I don’t see how you don’t! They should bring in every relevant person to the hearings. It should be bipartisan, it should be factual. But how can you say that President Trump, who was giving speeches encouraging people to go into the Capitol, isn’t a material witness?” (Read more from “Dem Rep.: Trump Has To Testify Before Capitol Riot Commission” HERE)

Rep. Jim Banks Unloads On Pelosi, Vows To Get Jan. 6 Answers Via GOP Panel

By New York Post. Rep. Jim Banks is vowing not to back down from investigating the security shortcomings that led to the attack on the Capitol on Jan. 6 despite Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) booting him on Wednesday. . .

Banks (R-Ind.), who was tapped by McCarthy to serve as the ranking member on the Jan. 6 select committee, said Pelosi’s decision proves that the Democrats’ intentions were politically motivated.

“It really made me angry. I served my country in Afghanistan and she is saying that I’m not up to playing a serious role on this Jan. 6 committee,” he told The Post Wednesday.

“But it just goes to show all along this was never a serious effort on their part, it’s all a political witch hunt. They want to make this all about Donald Trump, dragging Republican members of Congress through the mud and attacking 75 million people that voted for Donald Trump.” (Read more from “Rep. Vaccinated Pelosi Aide Tests Positive for COVID After Contact With Texas Dems

A spokesperson for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tested positive Monday for coronavirus following a meeting last week with members of the Texas Legislature who fled the state for Washington, D.C.

Drew Hammill, a top aide to Pelosi, said the staffer was fully vaccinated and did not have recent contact with the California Democrat, though the Speaker’s office is taking extra precautions as result.

“Yesterday, a fully-vaccinated senior spokesperson in the Speaker’s Press Office tested positive for COVID after contact with members of the Texas state legislature last week,” Hammill said in a statement obtained by Fox News.

“This individual has had no contact with the Speaker since exposure. The entire Press Office is working remotely today with the exception of individuals who have had no exposure to the individual or have had a recent negative test. Our office will continue to follow the guidance of the Office of Attending Physician closely.” (Read more from “Vaccinated Pelosi Aide Tests Positive for COVID After Contact With Texas Dems” HERE)

Nancy and Paul Pelosi Making Millions in Stock Trades in Companies She Actively Regulates

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is the sixth-richest member of Congress, according to the most recent financial disclosure statements filed in 2019. As the California Democrat has risen through party ranks and obtained more and more political power, her personal wealth has risen right along with it. Pelosi “has seen her wealth increase to nearly $115 million from $41 million in 2004,” reports the transparency non-profit group Open Secrets. Even by the standards of wealth that define that legislative body — “more than half of those in Congress are millionaires” — the wealth and lifestyle of the long-time liberal politician and most powerful lawmaker in Washington are lavish.

And ever since ascending to the top spot in the House, Pelosi and her husband, Paul, keep getting richer and richer. Much of their added wealth is due to extremely lucrative and “lucky” decisions about when to buy and sell stocks and options in the very industries and companies over which Pelosi, as House Speaker, exercises enormous and direct influence.

The sector in which the Pelosis most frequently buy and sell stocks is, by far, the Silicon Valley tech industry. Close to 75% of the Pelosis’ stock trading over the last two years has been in Big Tech: more than $33 million worth of trading. That has happened as major legislation is pending before the House, controlled by the Committees Pelosi oversees, which could radically reshape the industry and laws that govern the very companies in which she and her husband most aggressively trade.

To underscore the towering conflict of interest at the heart of Speaker Pelosi’s self-enrichment, consider the company in which the Pelosis traded most often: Apple. Buying and selling in that one company accounted for 17.7% of the Pelosis’ overall trading volume. And yet, during this same period, Pelosi held at least one private conversation with Apple CEO Tim Cook about the state of Apple and possible effects on the company from various pending bills to reform Silicon Valley. Perfect Timing! Pelosi’s Husband Bought Amazon Call Options Before Pentagon Announced New Contract With Company as Top Candidate

Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), bought Amazon call options just six weeks before the Pentagon announced it was canceling a multi-billion dollar contract with Microsoft and starting a new one that opened a door for Amazon’s participation.

The Biden Pentagon on Tuesday abruptly announced it was canceling its multi-billion JEDI cloud services contract with Microsoft and starting a new one that Amazon could compete for.

Amazon had been favored to win the JEDI contract after the idea for a single cloud infrastructure was first conceived in 2017, but it was ultimately awarded to Microsoft in 2019. Amazon sued, arguing they lost due to then-President Donald Trump’s personal dislike of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. A Pentagon inspector general report found that Trump did not interfere in the contract.

The Pentagon said the new contract, “Joint Warfighter Cloud Capability” or JWCC, would be “multi-vendor” and “multi-cloud” and explicitly named Microsoft and Amazon as the two top contenders[.] (Read more from “Perfect Timing! Pelosi Plans Announcement on Select Committee to Investigate Siege of Congress

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will announce this week whether she will create a select committee to investigate the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, her spokesman said.

The California Democrat told colleagues about her plans during a meeting of the House Steering and Policy Committee on Tuesday, which comes weeks after Senate Republicans blocked legislation that would have created a commission to dig into the attack on Congress.

Multiple news outlets reported the speaker revealed she would create the committee, which would not require GOP support. But Drew Hammill, Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff, quickly tweeted a denial. Pelosi Condemns Ilhan Omar for Comparing Israel, U.S. to Hamas and the Taliban

By Townhall. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her leadership team issued a joint statement criticizing comments from Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) that compared the United States and Israel with terrorist groups such as Hamas and the Taliban.

“Legitimate criticism of the policies of both the United States and Israel is protected by the values of free speech and democratic debate. And indeed, such criticism is essential to the strength and health of our democracies,” stated Pelosi along with Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD), Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), Assistant Speaker Katherine Clark (D-MA), Caucus Chair Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and Caucus Vice Chair Pete Aguilar (D-CA). . .

Pelosi’s statement comes hours after GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) called Rep. Omar’s comments “abhorrent” and said the Speaker’s “continued failure to address the issues in her caucus sends a message to the world that Democrats are tolerant of anti-Semitism and sympathizing with terrorists.”

White House Silent as Dem Civil War Breaks Out

By Fox News. The White House has remained silent about a bitter feud between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic leadership and Rep. Ilhan Omar over her recent comments about the U.S. and Israel.

Omar, the two-term progressive representative from Minnesota, has come under fire over her Monday tweet that grouped the U.S. and Israel along with terror groups such as Hamas and the Taliban. She wrote that all had committed “unthinkable atrocities.” The tweet drew sharp condemnations from members of both parties. . .

Following Omar’s explanation, House Democratic leadership said in a statement that “false equivalencies between democracies like the U.S. and Israel and groups that engage in terrorism like Hamas and the Taliban foments prejudice and undermines progress toward a future of peace and security for all.”

“We welcome the clarification by Congresswoman Omar that there is no moral equivalency between the U.S. and Israel and Hamas and the Taliban,” the statement continued. . .

Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan tore into her party’s leadership following the release of the statement Thursday afternoon. Tlaib, who has her own history of controversial remarks, said Democratic leaders “should be ashamed” of their treatment of Omar and other “Congresswomen of color.”
