Democrats Rush to Get Votes on Spending Package, Infrastructure Bill

Democrats in the House were trying to set up votes on two pieces of legislation on Friday, attempting to pass President Biden’s massive social spending package and the bipartisan infrastructure bill.

As reported by The Washington Post, “Democrats hope to vote first on a nearly $2 trillion plan that would expand Medicare, provide free, universal prekindergarten for all American children, set aside new sums to fight global warming, and offer new benefits to low-income families, much of which is paid for through taxes on millionaires and corporations.”

Additionally, after deliberation on that package, The Post reported, “Democrats next hope to turn to a roughly $1.2 trillion measure to improve the nation’s roads, bridges, pipes, ports and Internet connections. That infrastructure measure cleared the Senate on a bipartisan basis in August, but it has remained stuck in the House.”

On Friday morning, it was reportedly still unclear as to what the schedule for the votes could be.

“We’re working on it,” said House Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer (D-MD), as they kept trying to secure votes. (Read more from “Democrats Rush to Get Votes on Spending Package, Infrastructure Bill” HERE)

Report: Pelosi Was Concerned About Lunch During Jan. 6 Protest

The former chief of staff to President Trump has confirmed on a podcast program that Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, at the height of the riot at the Capitol last Jan. 6, called to ask about lunch being served for members of Congress.

It was on a John Solomon Reports podcast that Mark Meadows explained he wasn’t in the room at the time of the call, but Pelosi – who has joined with other Democrats and leftists in describing the events that day as the worst attack on democracy ever, even worse than 9/11 – contacted the Department of Defense and “made an inquiry about what time, you know, our members could actually get their lunch.”

“I find it amazing that she was more interested n their culinary position than they are in anything else,” Meadows said.

Pelosi’s office, in a statement to Just the News about Pelosi’s lunch plans, and her refusal to accept President Trump’s offer of 10,000 National Guard troops that day, said “This is false and makes no sense on its face. The breach of the Capitol was in the 2 pm hour. It is already established that US Capitol security officials requested National Guard for hours before the request was granted by the Trump administration.”

But Meadows has not been the only person to identify Pelosi’s lunch question as suspect. (Read more from “Report: Pelosi Was Concerned About Lunch During Jan. 6 Protest” HERE)

Senate Republicans Block Government Funding, Debt Ceiling Bill

Senate Republicans blocked a government spending and debt ceiling bill Monday, setting up a dramatic showdown between Republicans and Democrats on whether Congress should raise the debt ceiling while Democrats plan to spend trillions on infrastructure and social spending.

The Senate failed to invoke cloture, 48-50, on H.R. 5305, the continuing resolution (CR). Senate Republicans blocked the CR as House Democrats remain poised to vote on the $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill.

Democrats, rather than put the debt ceiling increase in the $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill, decided that they would pack the debt ceiling increase in the government funding bill.

The Democrats’ CR would lift the debt ceiling through the 2022 midterm elections and fund the government through December.

The federal government will run out of funding on September 30, and the debt ceiling must be lifted in early October. (Read more from “Senate Republicans Block Government Funding, Debt Ceiling Bill” HERE)

Pelosi on $3.5T Spending Package: It ‘Seems Self-Evident’ It Will Be Less Than Proposed

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on Sunday that it “seems self-evident” that the final price tag for the Democrats’ spending plan would be smaller than $3.5 trillion originally proposed.

“Yeah that seems self-evident. That seems self-evident” she said on ABC’s “This Week” when asked if she would acknowledge that there would be a lower total for the package.

“I think even those who want a smaller number support the vision of the president,” Pelosi added, referring to Democratic divisions surrounding the reconciliation measure.

“We have to find our common ground, respectful of each other’s views. This isn’t about moderates versus progressives,” Pelosi added.

“Adding up what our priorities are should take us to a number where we find common ground,” Pelosi said. (Read more from “Pelosi on $3.5T Spending Package: It ‘Seems Self-Evident’ It Will Be Less Than Proposed” HERE)

Democrats Release Debt Ceiling Bill That Funds Government Through Dec. 3

House Democrats unveiled legislation on Tuesday that would keep the federal government funded through Dec. 3 and suspend the debt limit into next year as the deadlines to avert both crises loom in a matter of days.

The bill is expected to hit the House floor for a vote later Tuesday.

Republicans have been adamant that they won’t back a debt limit suspension as a form of protest against Democrats’ $3.5 trillion bill to expand social safety net programs.

While the bill tying a suspension of the debt limit through December 2022 to avoiding a government shutdown is expected to easily pass the House, it appears to lack the votes in the Senate where at least 10 Republicans would have to join with all Democrats for it to pass. Congressman: Nancy Pelosi Blocked Reading Names of 13 U.S. Troops Killed in Kabul

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) blocked GOP representatives from reading on the House floor the names of the 13 United States troops who were killed in a terrorist attack in Kabul, Afghanistan last week.

“How badly do Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats want to cover up this Afghanistan debacle? They just blocked Members of Congress from reading the names of the service members who sacrificed their lives in Afghanistan last week,” Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL) tweeted on Tuesday. “Don’t you think our military deserves better?”

Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), who was wounded during combat in Afghanistan, told The Floridian that Pelosi refused to recognize a Republican-only “moment of silence” for the fallen service members.

“We gaveled in, had a prayer, said the Pledge of Allegiance, took a moment of silence with pretty much all Republican veterans, then asked to be recognized to read names and bring up Afghanistan legislation,” Mast told the outlet. “They did not acknowledge us, and just closed the House down.”

WH, Pelosi Ignore Deadly Kabul Bombings, Celebrate ‘Women’s Equality Day’

Both the White House and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) issued woke-filled statements about “Women’s Equality Day” before acknowledging two deadly bombings in Afghanistan, which took the lives of U.S. citizens, troops, women, and children on Thursday.

The Democrat politicians issued grandiose statements of well-wishes on the anniversary of the 1920 adoption of the 19th Amendment, which gave women the right to vote. At the same time, women and civilians in Afghanistan are quickly being subjugated by the Taliban and bombed by Islamic terrorists amid Biden’s failed withdrawal from the country. Twin suicide bombings on Thursday outside Hamid Karzai International Airport and the Baron Hotel in Kabul, Afghanistan, have killed at least 60 people, including four U.S. Marines, and wounded another 140 on Thursday, according to reports.

The Afghan broadcaster 1TV News published photos of civilians using wheelbarrows to tend to the injured and people fleeing the scene covered in blood. U.S. officials told Reuters at least one of the bombings is believed to be a suicide bombing.

“My Administration is committed to bearing out the promise of the suffragists, who understood that for women to attain true equality in our country, they must have an equal place at the ballot box,” President Joe Biden’s statement said in part. “As the Vice President has said, the status of women is the status of democracy. This is true abroad, too, where we are committed to strengthening women’s political participation and leadership around the world”[.]

As of 2:00 p.m. Thursday, neither Biden nor the State Department had addressed the public about the growing crisis in Kabul. According to reports, the president remained in the Situation Room throughout the morning being briefed on the deadly airport bombings. What’s Missing? Video Shows Hordes of Mask-Less Guests at Pelosi Fundraiser (VIDEO)

Mask-pushing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was apparently caught addressing an outdoor crowd of mask-less Democratic big wigs in COVID-19-riddled Napa Valley over the weekend, according to video and tweets.

A clip of the close-quartered fundraiser was posted on Facebook by Democratic Party donor and winemaker Kathryn Walt Hall — and promptly blasted out on Twitter.

The footage appeared to show dozens of unmasked people seated elbow to elbow at long luncheon tables as Pelosi gave a speech and masked waiters ambled between the listeners.

“All the servants fully masked,” tweeted journalist Glenn Greenwald. “The almost-entirely old, white, rich crowd of DCCC donors free to go maskless as they’re served.”

According to the CDC, Napa County in California is a coronavirus hot spot, garnering the designation of “high” for its current level of transmission. “High” is the most worrisome designation. (Read more from “What’s Missing? Video Shows Hordes of Mask-Less Guests at Pelosi Fundraiser” HERE)

Speaker Pelosi’s Mask-Less Aide Shares Cozy Photo, Rubs House Hypocrisy in Your Face

Shane Smith, a Special Assistant to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.), seems to have been granted a dispensation from the Speaker when it comes to her own policy.

On August 13th, the Aide was caught on social media celebrating the opportunity to bring his parents to the Capitol. Smith posted a picture atop the Speaker’s balcony with his parents expressing gratitude for the opportunity to show them where he works. No social distancing was observed as the family, including what looks like two sexagenarians (a vulnerable population), held each other for the picture.

He ended the recap of his family visit with: “P.S. we wore masks the entire time we were inside because…you know…common sense and CDC guidelines.” According to wannabe Drs Smith and Pelosi, and House Physician Dr. Brian Monahan, Covid cannot be contracted outside the Capitol walls.

Smith’s hubris is an extension of his boss’ hypocrisy who has had conflicts with her own policy. Exactly two days after Speaker Pelosi issued her mask decree, she administered the Oath of Office to newly-elected Rep. Jake Ellzey (R-Tex.) alongside his wife and two children. No one, including the Speaker, wore masks. (Read more from “Speaker Pelosi’s Mask-Less Aide Shares Cozy Photo, Rubs House Hypocrisy in Your Face” HERE)

Report: Nancy Pelosi Considers Sacrificing Vulnerable Democrats by Pulling Them Off Campaign Trail Early to Advance Swamp Agenda

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is sacrificing vulnerable House members who need the August recess to campaign in their district by pulling them back to Washington roughly a month early to advance their swampy partisan agenda items.

Pelosi’s hopes of keeping the wafer-thin House majority are losing major traction. The most vulnerable members usually use the majority of their time during recess to campaign, fundraise, and meet with constituents.

However, it looks like their time will be cut short to pass their budget resolution for the so-called infrastructure bill. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) issued a “Dear Colleague” telling members the recess has been cut short and will need to return to Washington in two weeks and will stay until their “business” is finished.

Hoyer wrote:

For your scheduling purposes, assuming that the Senate does, in fact, complete work on a budget resolution, the House will return to session on the evening of August 23 to consider that budget resolution and will remain in session until our business for the week is concluded.
