WATCH: Nancy Pelosi Dismissed Coronavirus Threat in February Chinatown Visit: ‘Everything Is Fine Here’

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to investigate President Trump for his actions in the lead-up to the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S., but in February, she dismissed the threat with a visit to San Francisco’s Chinatown.

KPIX documented Pelosi’s February 24 visit to a fortune cookie factory and retailers:

“She has been talking to people along the way, a lot of business owners, a lot of community leaders here in Chinatown who have been concerned about the optics of the coronavirus,” reporter Anne Makovec said as the live shot showed Pelosi shaking hands with locals.

“She has been going around to show that it is perfectly safe to be here,” Makovec said.

“We want to be vigilant about what is out there in other places,” Pelosi said to reporters as her entourage packed the sidewalk. “We want to be careful about how we deal with it, be we do want to say to people, ‘Come to Chinatown. Here we are. We’re careful, safe. Come join us.’”

Donald Trump: ‘Sick Puppy’ Nancy Pelosi Was Focused on Impeachment During Coronavirus Outbreak

President Donald Trump fired back at Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Monday after she accused the president of failing to act quickly enough to combat the Chinese coronavirus pandemic.

“She’s a sick puppy, in my opinion. She really is,” Trump said. “She’s got a lot of problems. And that’s a horrible thing to say.”

In an interview Sunday, Pelosi said “as the President fiddles, people are dying” and that Trump cost American lives by downplaying the crisis in the early days of the outbreak.

“I thought it was a disgrace, I think it’s a disgrace to her country, her family,” Trump said, adding, “What a horrible statement to make.” . . .

“Don’t forget, she was playing the impeachment game, you know her game where she ended up looking like a fool,” Trump said. (Read more from “Donald Trump: ‘Sick Puppy’ Nancy Pelosi Was Focused on Impeachment During Coronavirus Outbreak” HERE)

Graham: Pelosi Comment on Trump Is ‘Most Shameful, Disgusting Statement by Any Politician in Modern History’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) on Sunday railed against Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) after she said President Trump’s response to the coronavirus outbreak was having deadly consequences.

“She’s blaming the president of the United States for people dying because of the way he’s led the country,” Graham, a vocal Trump ally, said on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures.” “That’s the most shameful, disgusting statement by any politician in modern history.”

Speaking earlier on CNN, Pelosi said Trump’s lack of aggressive action was having severe effects throughout the United States. She said Trump’s initial downplaying of the disease and his delay in coordinating a response proved to have “deadly” impacts.

“His denial at the beginning was deadly. His delaying of getting equipment … to where it is needed is deadly,” Pelosi said, stressing that social distancing requirements should remain intact as states attempt to slow the rapid spread of the disease. . .

“This is the same Speaker of the House who held up the bill in the Senate for days because she wanted same-day voting. She wanted carbon neutrality for the airlines,” Graham said. “She is the one that held up the package in the Senate for days. … So it’s the most shameful, disgusting thing I have heard yet, and it needs to stop.” (Read more from “Graham: Pelosi Comment on Trump Is ‘Most Shameful, Disgusting Statement by Any Politician in Modern History'” HERE)

GOP Outsources Wuhan Virus Response to Pelosi. There Is a Better Way

All of our vital products might be made in China, but all of the GOP policy decisions are now made by Nancy Pelosi. Not only do Republicans, including the president, give in to every Pelosi spending bill, they are now allowing her to use a public health crisis to increase spending on welfare even more without getting anything in return to address the underlying security problems with China that have caused this crisis in the first place.

It’s truly shocking how Democrats are able to consistently get nearly 100 percent of what they want in any critical legislative fight, even though they only control the House. Late on Friday, all but 55 Republicans supported the Pelosi bill, which increases spending on food stamps, unemployment benefits, and Medicaid and requires businesses to provide paid family leave (but only certain companies). This is on top of suspending student loan interest “until further notice” aka indefinitely and the Federal Reserve pumping more monetary morphine into the economy. There is no CBO score estimating how much this will cost nor any idea how this will help save lives and heal the economy while dealing with the source of the China virus problem.

At some point, if Republicans can’t provide a bold alternative, we need to ask: Why even have a Republican Party? Republicans talk tough against the Democrats whenever it doesn’t matter, but every time the ball is actually in play to pass major legislation during our most challenging moments, they sign on to whatever the Democrats want.

Which leads us to the most salient question in this debate. It seem like Democrats, congressional Republicans, and President Trump all agree that spending and debt are risk-free and that it’s great for the economy and will somehow solve a biological problem. So why stop at this price tag? Why not pass a trillion-dollar bill? A two-trillion-dollar bill? Why not mail a $10,000 check to every American family? They are telling us the debt is somehow not a problem, so why not spend even more for an even greater “stimulus”?

What is so bizarre about this “stimulus” bill is that this is not even like the 2008 financial crisis. This is a logistical problem because cities are shutting down all public gatherings. Kids are off school, so even those whose places of employment are still operational cannot go to work. It’s a matter of getting rid of the virus, and more importantly, the fear surrounding it, and then the economy will go back to normal over time. At that point we can assess the damage done by these weeks of curtailed economic activity. But until then, paying people to stay home will only incentivize and draw out the problem.

Also, any response to this crisis should be universal, focusing on the needs of the whole of the people in terms of health care access and access to the supply chain of food and provisions. Thus, it should focus on de-regulation, not just welfare or provisions for certain businesses. The Democrat bill would give the USDA $1 billion on top of record funding for major food programs to increase monthly food stamp benefits. It would also put in place plans to fund and deliver school breakfast and lunch, day-care meals, and summer food programs during school cancellations. The bill also adds $500 million to the already-record funding levels of the WIC program.

Real leadership would provide federal legislation that would replicate what Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is doing in his state by easing trucking regulations, to ensure that supplies can be delivered to the stores quicker, and health care regulations, to ensure we optimize all of the medical staff we have. The focus should be on ensuring universal access to provisions, not just free stuff for some, a perennial goal that liberals bring out so as not to let a crisis go to waste.

The Pelosi pander bill also creates a mandate requiring businesses with 50-500 employees to offer 12 weeks of paid leave for workers who stay home to quarantine. Part of the reason why it’s so dumb to pass something like this so early, even if one is sympathetic to sending people money for time off, is because they haven’t thought through the unintended consequences. For example, in their haste to virtue-signal over helping “small businesses” with under 50 employees, many companies near that cutoff will be incentivized just to lay people off to cut costs.

Then, ironically, the bill drops the mandate for paid leave once a company is larger than 500 employees. So, they exempt the biggest companies but not the small to mid-sized ones, the exact opposite of what Democrats are messaging. The goal of any relief is to keep these small businesses running, yet they are ensuring that there will be no jobs from which to take leave! These are the very companies that have gotten hit by Obamacare spiking the cost of employer-provided insurance plans.

It’s clear that Senate Republicans will pass this bill with just as much panic-driven pandering as House Republicans. But once you are giving the Democrats more welfare spending, why not also demand provisions that actually address the China virus itself? For example, our immigration policies that make us vulnerable to Chinese nationals spreading the virus here like they did in northern Italy, where over 300,000 transient Chinese nationals reside. We must also address what has led to the outsourcing problem that allows China to control our entire supply chain of medicines and other vital goods. Finally, what about working with other countries to punish China for lying about coronavirus and covering up the problem until it was too late?

To that end, Republicans in the Senate should amend the bill as follows:

A provision addressing the future of the 400,000 Chinese students in America who travel back and forth and Chinese migration in general.

Border security has to be a part of this. If this is a national emergency big enough to curtail vital liberties of Americans, then it’s a national emergency big enough to stop admitting and processing illegal aliens and asylum requests at our border. 150,000 illegal aliens from 72 countries with cases of coronavirus have been caught at our border over the first five months of the fiscal year. 1,657 have come from China. We are still not turning them back at the border.

A provision addressing how China is using immigration to suck out all our research and development, a problem recognized in a recent bipartisan Senate committee report.

Pass Josh Hawley’s bill dealing with the medical supply chain monopolized by China.

Chip Roy’s RESULT Act, which requires the FDA to review all applications for approval of new drugs and medical devises that have been approved in comparable countries. We are already seeing the results of the president’s easement of regulations, as a potential vaccine for coronavirus is set to be delivered to a clinic today.

An audit of all regulations that impede the flow of health care and the supply chain of vital goods and services and to empower the president to immediately rectify them.

Sanctions on China for lying to the world about the severity of the virus, causing the world to lose vital weeks in pre-empting the spread of the virus. Shutting off visas from China should be a part of this. Doctors who tried to warn about the virus were made to disappear. The Chinese communists need to be held accountable for it.

If Democrats are going to use this crisis to promote welfare spending they’ve always sought, then Republicans should use this crisis to promote deregulation of supply lines and immigration policies that directly speak to the issue at hand. Also, if we are going to spend all this money, why not cut spending elsewhere? Sen. Rand Paul has a prudent idea of using cuts to foreign aid to aid our own country in a time of need.

Finally, this crisis is a great reminder of why we need to actually cut spending and welfare when the economy is robust, rather than running up the credit card. Public funds need to be conserved for exactly this sort of situation. (For more from the author of “GOP Outsources Wuhan Virus Response to Pelosi. There Is a Better Way” please click HERE)

Nancy Pelosi’s Staff Demands Takedown of ‘Deceptively Altered’ Video of Her SOTU Tantrum; Trump Rally Crowd Chants ‘Lock Her up’ About Pelosi (VIDEO)

By Breitbart. A video shared by President Trump showing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) tearing apart the State of the Union address has amassed over 18 million views on social media despite her allies’ efforts to convince platforms to remove it.

The video, posted by the president last week, shows Pelosi tearing up the State of the Union address and highlights memorable moments of the speech, such as Trump honoring 100-year-old Tuskegee Airman Gen. Charles McGee. It has now surpassed 11 million views on Twitter, 3.1 million views on Facebook, and 4.1 million views on Instagram:

The video, titled “Powerful American Stories Ripped To Shreds By Nancy Pelosi,” has drawn criticism from Democrats, who claim it is misleading:

Pelosi’s deputy chief of staff Drew Hammill asserted that the video was “deliberately designed to mislead and lie to the American people” and blasted social media platforms for failing to remove it.

“The American people know that the President has no qualms about lying to them — but it is a shame to see Twitter and Facebook, sources of news for millions, do the same,” Hammill wrote, adding that the refusal to remove the video “is another reminder that they care more about their shareholders’ interests than the public’s interests”:

Trump Rally Crowd Chants ‘Lock Her up’ About Pelosi

By Fox News. Supporters at President Trump’s rally in New Hampshire on Monday chanted “lock her up” about Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

The chant broke out as Trump complained about Pelosi’s conduct during his State of the Union address last week.

“I had somebody behind me who was mumbling terribly. Mumbling,” Trump said, mocking Pelosi. “Very distracting.”

The crowd of thousands in Manchester coalesced into chants of “lock her up.” Trump stood at the podium nodding his head and mouthed the words “that’s true.”

Republicans Take Action Against Nancy Pelosi for Tearing up Speech at State of the Union

Republicans took several steps against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for tearing up her official copy of the State of the Union address as a rebuke to President Donald Trump.

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) tweeted that he had filed an ethics complaint against the Democratic leader. . .

Rep. Kay Granger (R-Texas) also introduced a resolution criticizing Pelosi for her act.

“Speaker Pelosi’s actions last night were appalling and shameful,” read a statement from Granger. “Regardless of her personal feelings, she had a responsibility to conduct herself with civility as the presiding officer representing the House of Representatives. She is not the Speaker of the Democrats, but of the People’s House.”

Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) tweeted that he introduced a resolution to censure Pelosi.

WATCH: Nancy Pelosi Was Caught on Camera Practicing ‘the Rip Heard Round the World’

Mike Pence accused Nancy Pelosi of planning to rip up the president’s State of the Union speech all along, an accusation the speaker’s office denied.

But a canny observer caught what appears to be the Speaker actually practicing the moves under the table before the speech was over.

Camera from behind the Speaker also shows the pages ‘pre-ripped’ as Pelosi made her final move when the President’s speech was over. . .

The bitter feud between the president and the speaker boiled over during the speech, with Trump snubbing her outstretched hand and Pelosi ripping apart a copy of his remarks behind his back.

Trump delivered the astonishing snub to Pelosi as he started his speech by ignoring her as she offered him a handshake, which set the tone for a full-throated condemnation of his political enemies and his presidential predecessors in front of a divided Congress. Democrats Call for Pelosi to Resign Speakership

A top congressman and prominent Democrat law professor are both calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to resign after her conduct during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address last night.

Rep. Lee Zeldin responded to Pelosi ripping up Trump’s State of the Union address by writing: “Nancy Pelosi should step down as Speaker. I’m confident that the American public will be directly sending her that message themselves later this year if she doesn’t read the tea leaves herself and resign on her own terms today. It’s time.”

George Washington University Law professor Jonathan Turley, a self-described Democrat, also joined Zeldin in calling for Pelosi to step down following her conduct, calling her a “partisan troll.”

Turley wrote about the first time that he walked onto the floor of the House of Representatives 44 years ago, saying, “The country was deeply divided, but both parties maintained the tradition of civility and decorum. I was struck how members, even in the heat of furious debates, would not attack each other by name and followed rigid principles of decorum. They understood that they were the custodians of this institution and bore a duty to strengthen and pass along those traditions to the next generation.”

Turley continued, “At that moment, she represents the House as an institution — both Republicans and Democrats. Instead, she decided to become little more than a partisan troll from an elevated position. The protests of the Democratic members also reached a new low for the House. Pelosi did not gavel out the protest. She seemed to join it.” (Read more from “Democrats Call for Pelosi to Resign Speakership” HERE)

Trump: Impeachment ‘Should Not Even Be Allowed to Proceed’; Republican Believes Nancy Pelosi Withheld Impeachment Articles for Nefarious Reasons (VIDEO)

By Townhall. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Friday that she was finally willing to transmit two articles of impeachment over to the Senate next week so the upper chamber could begin its impeachment trial of the president. On Sunday, President Trump tweeted his thoughts on the looming Senate trial, echoing concerns that such a trial only gives credence to the partisan House witch hunt that masqueraded itself as a legitimate impeachment inquiry.

The president also tweeted a video featuring his attorney, Rudy Giuliani, being interviewed by Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro on Saturday. In the interview, Giuliani argued the two articles of impeachment against the president should promptly be dismissed at the beginning of Trump’s Senate trial. Giuliani said the two articles, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, are not impeachable acts under the Constitution.

The former New York City mayor said the two articles of impeachment are not even crimes and therefore should be dismissed by the Supreme Court. Giuliani admitted that there was nothing in the Constitution expressly giving the Supreme Court power over Congress on the subject of impeachment, but Giuliani also pointed out that there was nothing in the Constitution expressly giving the Supreme Court power to declare a law passed by Congress unconstitutional. The Supreme Court should similarly step in like they did in the Madison decision, Giuliani argued, to resolve the clash between the two branches of government.

Top House Republican Believes Nancy Pelosi Withheld Impeachment Articles for Nefarious Reasons

By The Blaze. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said on Fox News Sunday that he believes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has withheld the approved articles of impeachment from the Senate for nefarious reasons.

Speaking with host Maria Bartiromo on “Sunday Morning Futures,” McCarthy said the “dirty little secret” about Pelosi delaying the articles is that she has done so in order to boost Joe Biden’s presidential campaign and hurt Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), whose campaign is gaining momentum by the day. . .

“This harms Senator Sanders, who is in first place and could become their nominee, because he will be stuck in a chair, because Nancy Pelosi held the papers, different than what she said to the American public why she had to move so urgently,” he continued.

“She told the American public it was urgent. She had to move so fast. The only reason why she should be — that she is doing this that no one is talking about — it is harming Bernie Sanders, the senator, who has been coming into first place, who could win Iowa and propel himself to be the nominee,” McCarthy explained. “It’s the exact same thing they did to him four years ago.”

WATCH: Pelosi Says She’ll Send Over Impeachment Articles When She’s ‘Ready’; McConnell Expects Impeachment Trial Next Week

By Breitbart. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), during her weekly press conference Thursday, said she is not holding back the two articles of impeachment approved against Donald Trump last month “indefinitely.”

A reporter asked the Speaker,” Are you holding the articles indefinitely?”

“No. I’m not holding them indefinitely. I’ll send them over when I’m ready. That will probably be soon,” she replied.

By refusing to hand over the articles, approved on December 18, almost exclusively along party lines, with three Democrats voting against, Pelosi has halted the impeachment process.

Pelosi and the House leaders pursuing the impeachment inquiry, primarily House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), the chief inquisitor, repeatedly argued that the impeachment of Trump was a matter of vital national interest. McConnell Tells Republicans He Expects Impeachment Trial Next Week

By Politico. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Thursday told Republican senators that he expects Speaker Nancy Pelosi to transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate as soon as Friday, setting up an impeachment trial that begins early next week.

While senators and aides cautioned that McConnell does not have inside intelligence, the remarks serve as key scheduling advice for senators. Most Republicans are now gearing up for the relentless pace of the impeachment trial to start on Monday or Tuesday.

“At lunch, we all heard that. And he says: ‘That’s my best guess,’” said Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.). “Which means that we’d get started next week.”

Most senators immediately left the chamber after voting on Thursday afternoon, a signal that the trial will not start until after the weekend. McConnell also discussed the contours of the trial with President Donald Trump on Wednesday during a meeting at the White House that was first reported by CNN.
