WATCH: Pelosi Says Eliminating Soleimani Is Like Assassinating the U.S. Vice President; Security Guard Charged With Threatening to Kill Trump in Retaliation for Soleimani

By Breitbart. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Thursday defended her opposition to the elimination of Iran’s top general and terrorist mastermind Qasem Soleimani by likening the action to a hypothetical assassination of the vice president of the United States.

The speaker expressed outrage upon the death of Soleimani, describing the Trump administration’s actions as “provocative and disproportionate.”

She doubled down on those sentiments during a press conference on Thursday, likening the elimination of the terrorist, who was responsible for the death of hundreds of Americans and injuries of thousands more, to an assassination of the vice president of the United States.

“The argument would be made that, putting the shoe on the other foot, if the United States had a high level — maybe the second most important person in the country — assassinated wherever, the United States might consider that an assault on our country,” she stated.

Florida Security Guard Charged With Threatening to Kill Trump in Retaliation for Soleimani

By Fox News. A Florida security guard is accused of threatening to kill President Trump in retaliation for a U.S. airstrike that killed Iran’s top military general last Friday.

Chauncy Lump, 26, from the Fort Lauderdale area, faces federal charges of threatening to kill the president and remained jailed Thursday with bond set at $100,000, according to court documents filed Wednesday by the Secret Service.

Agent Lucas White wrote that shortly after Trump announced last week that a U.S. airstrike had killed Qassem Soleimani in Iraq in retaliation for plotting numerous terrorist attacks, Lump, under the name “BlackMan vs. America,” began livestreaming a seven-minute video on Facebook.

During that video, agents say Lump made several threats against the president – who was staying at his Mar-a-Lago club, less than an hour away – while periodically displaying a loaded AK-47 semi-automatic rifle. Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi Join Effort to Take President Trump Down in 2020

By Washington Examiner. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former President Barack Obama have joined a 2020 “unity” movement. And it’s deeply dividing.

The goal: “Defeat Donald Trump and his Republican enablers.”

Fresh off the House’s impeachment vote of the president, Pelosi has penned a fundraising letter for the Democratic Unity Fund that aims to raise millions to defeat Trump, maintain Democratic control of the House, and turn the Republican Senate blue.

“We all know what’s at stake in this election. Right now, we have a president who clearly has no respect for our Constitution, our democracy, or the rule of law. Every day he makes more false promises while his policies continue to hurt hardworking Americans in every corner of our country. We simply cannot afford four more years of a Donald Trump presidency,” she penned.

“That’s why President Obama and I are proud to work with the DNC to ensure that our future nominee and Democratic candidates running for every level of office have the resources they will need to win back the White House, flip the Senate, and hold our valuable House majority,” she added. Trump 2020 Campaign Raised $46 Million in Final Quarter of 2019

By Newsweek. Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. on New Year’s Day announced that the president’s re-election campaign had raised $46 million in the last quarter of 2019—making the 4th quarter the campaign’s best since the beginning of the 2020 election cycle.

Despite being impeached by the Democrat-led House in mid-December, Trump’s campaign ended the year with $102.7 million cash on hand. The amount only represents fundraising for Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. and does not include finances raised by the Republican National Committee (RNC) or any other joint fundraising committees. The fourth quarter ran between October 1 and December 31.

“President Trump’s unprecedented fundraising is testament to his wide grassroots support and his stellar record of achievement on behalf of the American people,” Brad Parscale, the manager for Trump 2020 campaign, said in a statement emailed to Newsweek.

“Democrats and the media have been in a sham impeachment frenzy and the President’s campaign only got bigger and stronger with our best fundraising quarter this cycle,” he added. “The President’s war chest and grassroots army make his re-election campaign an unstoppable juggernaut.” (Read more from “Trump 2020 Campaign Raised $46 Million in Final Quarter of 2019” HERE)

Nancy Pelosi Invites Trump to Deliver State of the Union Address

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has invited President Donald Trump to deliver a State of the Union address on February 4th, 2020 — just 48 hours after leading the House Democrats’ partisan impeachment inquiry.

“In their great wisdom, our Founders crafted a Constitution based on a system of separation of powers: three co-equal branches acting as checks on each other. To ensure that balance of powers, the Constitution calls for the president to ‘from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union,’” Pelosi wrote in a letter to the president on Friday.

“In the spirit of respecting our Constitution, I invite you to deliver your State of the Union address before a Joint Session of Congress on Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in the Chamber of the U.S. House of Representatives,” the California Democrat added.

The invitation comes as Pelosi remains noncommittal about when she will send the impeachment articles — abuse of power and obstruction of Congress — to the Senate for a trial. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) met Thursday to discuss potential parameters of a trial, though they did not come to an agreement before leaving Washington, D.C., for Christmas. Are Republicans Plotting to Impeach the President?; Trump’s Letter to Nancy Pelosi Really Angered Her, and She Just Responded; Pelosi Says House May Withhold Impeachment Articles

Are Republicans Plotting to Impeach the President? Secret Meetings on Capitol Hill Could Signal Senate Trial ‘Trap’

By The Blaze. On the radio program Tuesday, Glenn Beck spoke with Douglas MacKinnon, a former White House and Pentagon official and author, about his recent article in The Hill, “Is a Trap Being Set for Trump in the Senate Trial?”

MacKinnon told Glenn that he has heard from several Capitol Hill staffers who say there are a lot of “meetings going on behind closed doors” between various Republican senators on Capitol Hill, many of whom are known to dislike President Donald Trump.

“The vast majority of these Republican senators, either privately or publicly, can’t stand President Trump for a lot of reasons,” MacKinnon explained. “The main reason, Glenn, is they can’t control him. They’ve never been able to control him. They can’t predict what he’s going to do … he is a disrupter.” (Read more from “Are Republicans Plotting to Impeach the President? President Trump’s Letter to Nancy Pelosi Really Angered Her, and She Just Responded

By The Blaze. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) responded briefly to a scathing letter President Donald Trump sent deriding impeachment, and called it “ridiculous” and “sick.”

She made the comments to CNN’s Manu Raju on Tuesday after receiving the six-page missive.

“I don’t have a reaction. It’s ridiculous,” she said while hurriedly walking away. . .

“I’ve seen the essence of it though,” she concluded, “and it’s really sick.”

The letter from the president lambasted Pelosi and the Democrats for leading the charge to impeach him over charges related to a phone call he made with the president of Ukraine. (Read more from “President Trump’s Letter to Nancy Pelosi Really Angered Her, and She Just Responded” HERE)

Pelosi Says House May Withhold Impeachment Articles

By CNBC. After the House of Representatives voted to impeach President Donald Trump, Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Wednesday began a game of chicken with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

In a press conference following the historic vote Wednesday night, Pelosi told reporters that she wanted to see how McConnell, R-Ky., would lay out the trial’s rules before she sent over the articles to the Senate.

“We can’t name managers until we see what the process is on the Senate side and I would hope that would be soon. So far, we haven’t seen anything that’s looks fair to us,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi’s stance was an apparent attempt to pressure McConnell, who will hold significant power once the impeachment proceedings are passed from the Democrat-led House to the GOP-controlled Senate.

McConnell did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment. (Read more from “Pelosi Says House May Withhold Impeachment Articles, Delaying Senate Trial” HERE)

Nancy Pelosi Expects Public Impeachment Hearings to Start This Month

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Friday that she expects public hearings in the House’s impeachment probe against President Donald Trump to begin later this month.

In a discussion with Bloomberg reporters and editors on Friday, Pelosi said, “I would assume there would be public hearings in November,” but also said that any case investigators bring against the president “has to be ironclad.” The speaker, however, did not commit to a timeline for impeachment proceedings or for when the probe would move out of the current phase of closed-door testimony, saying that depositions would continue as long as they prove to be “productive.”

“I don’t know what the timetable will be,” she said. “The truth will set us free.”

The clandestine nature of the impeachment probe so far has drawn considerable criticism from congressional Republicans, who argue that the testimony from witnesses should be given publicly, rather than behind closed doors. However, those defending the current stage of the probe liken it to a grand jury or special counsel investigation.

“The special counsels in the Nixon and Clinton impeachments conducted their investigations in private and we must initially do the same,” Schiff wrote in a letter to colleagues earlier this month.

There’s also the question of how long the overall process is expected to take. While House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., has said that he would like to see the chamber finish up its impeachment work by the end of the year, Pelosi wouldn’t rule out the possibility of running over into the 2020 election year, noting what she called “a mountain of concerns to be brought up,” as well as the possibility that other leads might come up the course of the investigation.

Pelosi also told Bloomberg that the outcome of this process isn’t a forgone conclusion, saying “we have not made any decisions on if the president will be impeached.”

The remarks came a day after Pelosi banged the gavel on a House vote to pass a resolution codifying the impeachment probe that she announced over a month beforehand. (For more from the author of “Nancy Pelosi Expects Public Impeachment Hearings to Start This Month” please click HERE)

Dozens of Conservative Groups File Ethics Complaint Against Nancy Pelosi Over Impeachment Process

Dozens of conservative groups have banded together to bring a formal ethics complaint against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., alleging “abuse of power, misuse of House resources, and false statements to the public and to the media” related to her impeachment efforts against President Donald Trump.

Filed Wednesday, the six-page complaint to the Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) claims that Pelosi “has violated the Official Code of Conduct of the House of Representatives in the following specific instances, establishing a pattern of conduct that reflects discreditably on the U.S. House of Representatives, and she has abused her power as Speaker of the House of Representatives in her determination to conduct impeachment proceedings against the President of the United States.”

The complaint points to House Rule XXIII, which outlines the code of conduct for members. Specifically, it highlights sections requiring that members “behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on the House” and “adhere to the spirit and the letter of the Rules of the House and to the rules of duly constituted committees thereof.”

The complaint was led by Tea Party Patriots’ Jenny Beth Martin, signed by representatives of 40 different conservative groups, and sent to the OCE’s board chairman David Skaggs. It claims that the speaker has “weaponized impeachment” through her actions.

“In launching her ‘official’ impeachment inquiry without benefit of a vote of the full House of Representatives and without indicating anything remotely qualifying as ‘treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors’ that is the subject of the inquiry, Speaker Pelosi has weaponized impeachment,” the complaint reads. “She and her Democratic colleagues are using the impeachment process as a weapon of partisan political battle, rather than as the means to defend the Constitution our Framers meant it to be.”

In fact, the complaint goes so far as to make the case that the House’s impeachment effort is a separation of powers violation.

Citing foreign policy powers given by the Constitution to the executive branch and the Senate, the groups argue that Pelosi “has no business examining or investigating the president’s legitimate exercise of his authority to determine the foreign and national security policy of the United States” in the first place.

The groups also argue that the resolution put forward this week to affirm the impeachment investigation after the fact is “is inadequate at this late stage” to address the concerns the process has raised so far.

“This is the constitutional equivalent of having the referees arrive and take their positions when the game is already halfway over,” the complaint says. “If she now understands that before going any further, the full House of Representatives must make its impeachment inquiry legitimate by the casting of votes, she is tacitly admitting that what came before is illegitimate. Consequently, all ‘evidence’ gleaned during this portion of the ‘investigation’ must be discarded for the sake of fairness.”

For those reasons, the groups ask the OCE to “immediately launch an inquiry into Speaker Pelosi’s misconduct.”

In a tweet about the complaint, Martin pointed those interested in getting involved with other such efforts to a “Trump Defense Team” page on TPP’s website.

Former Bush Press Secretary Suggests Why Pelosi Is Holding An Impeachment Vote

Maybe deep down House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wanted this, but she also knew the political ramifications. It would be an earthquake, and one in which Democrats could have reaped total destruction. It would galvanize the Trump base and give the president all the ammunition he needed to rip apart the Democratic Party for what is arguably one of the most explicitly partisan witch hunts in recent memory. The impeachment proceedings of President Trump are not yet official, but as Cortney wrote yesterday, a Thursday vote is going to be held. Former Bush press secretary Ari Fleischer was on Fox News’ “Special Report with Bret Baier” where he suggested that Pelosi is doing a retroactive makeup with this vote. Why? Well, the optics can’t be polished, especially on something as serious as impeachment (via RCP):

ARI FLEISCHER: Fairness is a fundamental American value, and this should not come down to a vote or not a vote. It should always be marked by fairness. If they have a vote now, you can not make up for the lack of fairness for the last month where we’ve had a secret impeachment process, with secret witnesses and secret transcripts all started by a secret whistle-blower. That is not how we conduct things to be fair to anybody in this country. So I think this is a little bit of retroactive makeup by Speaker Pelosi who recognized that they do have a problem. And it’s not a process problem. Fairness is a fundamental American virtue.

Make no mistake; Pelosi wants Trump gone, but maybe not in this way. This shift could signal that she knows the ground is not stable for Democrats; polls show swing state voters are not enthralled with this circus up on the Hill. With a large chunk of the House Democratic caucus hailing from the Left Coast and the liberal cesspool that is the Northeast, it shouldn’t be a shock that these clowns were fantasizing about impeachment from day one of the Trump presidency, which was buoyed by a rabid and unhinged progressive base that inhabits these lands. Pelosi Announces Vote on Impeachment Inquiry

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Monday the House will vote this week on a resolution to formalize — and establish the parameters — of the Trump impeachment inquiry.

In a letter sent to Democratic House lawmakers, Pelosi, D-Calif., said the resolution “affirms the ongoing, existing investigation” and “establishes the procedure” for future investigative steps.

“We are taking this step to eliminate any doubt as to whether the Trump administration may withhold documents, prevent witness testimony, disregard duly authorized subpoenas, or continue obstructing the House of Representatives,” Pelosi said. . .

Republicans hit back Monday at Pelosi over the planned vote, with South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham — the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which would play a role in a Senate impeachment trial — saying, “A vote now is a bit like un-ringing a bell as House Democrats have selectively leaked information in order to damage President Trump for weeks.”

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., told Fox News: “What it authorizes is that we were right. You can’t go back now.” (Read more from “Pelosi Announces Vote on Impeachment Inquiry” HERE)

Hollywood Leftist Shares Gruesome Cartoon of Pelosi Impaling and Killing Trump

On Saturday, Barbara Streisand posted a gruesome cartoon on Twitter showing a bloody President Trump impaled by the stiletto heel of the shoe of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. . .

Streisand posted several other bizarre tweets, including one showing Trump crushed under a giant peach.

“One may argue about a narrow or broad impeachment resolution but Trump has committed multiple impeachable acts,” she wrote, linking to a New York magazine article. . .

The violent cartoons came as a clothing company posted a billboard in New York City’s Times Square showing Trump being hog-tied by a woman clad in the company’s athletic wear. . .

Donald Trump Jr. blasted the billboard, saying, “Hey @NYTimes and MSM. Since you had time to thoroughly cover a stupid and tasteless meme seen by 8 people with incredible outrage, I figured you should dedicate the same time and outrage to THIS BILLBOARD IN TIMES SQUARE you hypocrites!”

Nancy Pelosi: House Won’t Vote on Impeachment Inquiry

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced Tuesday evening that the lower chamber will continue to hold off on taking an actual vote on whether to launch formal impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump. . .

“There’s no requirement that we have a vote, and so at this time we will not be having a vote,” Pelosi told reporters following a meeting with the House Democratic caucus. “We’re not here to call bluffs — we’re here to find the truth, to uphold the Constitution of the United States. This is not a game for us. This is deadly serious.”

Fox News reported that one congressional aide privy to the closed-door discussions claimed Democrats do not want to appear to be bending to the Trump administration’s demands, after the White House informed the House last week that it would not cooperate with Democrats’ ongoing probe because — among other things — the lower chamber had not held a floor vote on whether to authorize the proceedings.

In an 8-page letter to Pelosi and other top Democrats, Counsel to the President Pat Cipollone wrote, “In the history of our nation, the House of Representatives has never attempted to launch an impeachment inquiry against the president without a majority of the House taking political accountability for that decision by voting to authorize such a dramatic constitutional step.” . . .

In a speech from the Senate floor, McConnell said, “House Democrats are finally indulging in their three-year-old impeachment obsession, full steam ahead.” The majority leader went on to remind his colleagues that some Democrats had declared their plans to impeach President Trump before he was even inaugurated.
