Nancy Pelosi Charged the Air Force HOW MUCH to Fly Around the Globe?

A series of documents obtained by Judicial Watch show precisely how much money Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has spent on previous jaunts abroad, similar to the one she was prevented from going on by a White House order last week — and it isn’t pretty.

The Daily Caller reports that Pelosi’s CoDel trip, that was canceled at the last minute by President Donald Trump in response to the the Speaker of the House accusing the White House of abusing scarce resources by holding the State of the Union address in the midst of a government shutdown, was hardly her first trip abroad on the American dime.

A Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act request seeking information about Pelosi’s previous CoDel trips turned up a jaunt Pelosi took in 2015 to Italy and the Ukraine aboard Air Force planes. The total cost of the trip: $184,587.81.

The Washington Post reported on the trip at the time, seeking information specifically as to why Pelosi made a stopover in Italy part of the Congressional delegation’s visit to the Ukraine which, at the time, was in the midst of a national crisis. Pelosi’s trip took place in August, just a few short months after the Crimean crisis, just as the country was recovering from riots, a major revolution, and a standoff with Russian forces. . .

In a statement on the subject, Judicial Watch notes that Pelosi’s jaunt to Europe cost considerably more than other CoDel trips, including a late-2015 trip by Sen. Cory Gardner to East Asia (which included stops in notoriously expensive cities like Tokyo, Japan). That Congressional trip cost taxpayers a mere $26,009.03 because Gardner used commercial air travel and took a per diem instead of charging his meals directly to the federal government. After Canceling Pelosi’s Trip, Trump Bans ALL Congressional Travel on Government Aircraft Without WH Permission

Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., made a mistake when she tried to troll President Donald Trump by postponing the State of the Union address. You cannot out-troll Donald Trump. It is not physically possible. And Trump continues to prove that with a new order from the White House.

On Friday, the Trump administration acting Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought sent a memo to all heads of executive departments and agencies instructing that members of Congress cannot travel on government aircraft without express permission from the White House.

“Under no circumstances during a government shutdown will any government owned, rented, leased, or chartered aircraft support any Congressional delegation, without the express written approval of the White House Chief of Staff,” the letter states.

So it’s not just Pelosi’s trip that’s been canceled now, but all air travel on government planes by members of Congress.

GROUNDED: Nancy Pelosi Tried to Go Overseas During the Shutdown, President Trump Just Killed the Trip

President Trump sent a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Thursday afternoon informing her an upcoming taxpayer funded, military escorted trip overseas has been postponed.

“Dear Madame Speaker. Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over. In light of the 800,000 great American workers not receiving pay, I am sure you would agree that postponing this public relations event it totally appropriate. I also feel that, during this period, it would be better if you were in Washington negotiating with me and joining the Strong Border Security movement to end the Shutdown. Obviously, if you would like to make your journey by flying commercial, that would certainly be your prerogative,” President Trump wrote. . .

The trip was part of a larger congressional delegation through the Department of Defense and President Trump denied her military aircraft. According to Fox News, Pelosi was scheduled to leave at 3 p.m. eastern on Thursday afternoon. The letter was sent at 2:20 p.m. An Air Force bus is currently sitting outside House offices, waiting to take lawmakers to the airport. Many of them are on the bus.

Secret Service Fact Checks Nancy Pelosi: We Are Fully Prepared and Able to Handle Trump’s State of the Union Address

By Townhall. The United States Secret Service is pushing back against claims from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that agents are incapable of providing sufficient security for President Trump’s State of the Union address due to the government shutdown.

“The U.S. Secret Service was designated as the lead federal agency responsible for coordinating, planning, exercising, and implementing security for National Special Security Events by Public Law 106-544, December 19, 2000. However, both the U.S. Secret Service and the Department of Homeland Security have not been funded for 26 days now – with critical departments hamstrung by furloughs,” Pelosi wrote in a letter to the president Wednesday.

Everyone Rejects Pelosi’s Excuse for Cancelling State of the Union

Pelosi blamed a lack of available security due to the ongoing partial government shutdown: “This requires hundreds of people working on the logistics and security of it. Most of those people are either furloughed or victims of the shutdown. The president’s shutdown. But that isn’t the point. WATCH: Conservative Activist Jumps Pelosi’s Fence With Illegal Aliens to Prove THIS Vital Point

Conservative activist Laura Loomer, who is known for going undercover with James O’Keefe, took alleged illegal aliens from Mexico and Guatemala to Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s home in California. There, the group jumped the fence and Loomer demanded the group be let into the home. The group set up a pop up tent with the word “morality” on it and hung the pictures of those who were killed by illegal aliens, The Daily Caller reported.

During the middle of the stunt, Loomer called into the Alex Jones Show on InfoWars, at which point he applauded her efforts and included her live streamed video on his show.

WATCH: Laura Loomer Brings Illegal Aliens to Nancy Pelosi’s Home. Pelosi Has Police Remove Them.

By Daily Wire. Self-described investigative journalist Laura Loomer brought a handful of illegal immigrants to the home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Monday.

Pelosi — who has been unwavering in her opposition to funding a wall along the southern border, which she’s classified as an “immorality” — reportedly had Loomer and the illegals removed from her property.

Loomer, accompanied by illegal immigrants from Guatemala and Mexico, lugged a tent onto Pelosi’s multimillion-dollar vineyard estate, freelance journalist Nick Monroe reported Monday. In large red letters, the word “immorality” was written across the tent; there were also photos of murder victims of illegal immigrants hanging from the front of the tent. . .

Earlier this month, Pelosi notably called Trump’s proposed southern wall an “immorality.”

“The fact is, a wall is an immorality. It’s not who we are as a nation,” Pelosi told reporters. “We are not doing a wall. Does anybody have any doubt? We are not doing a wall,” she added.

Creep Show: Cruz Called the Democratic Response to Trump’s Border Address ‘One of the Most Frightening Things I’ve Seen’

As the government shutdown drags on, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said enough with the memes, but he gave the Internet endless fodder with his and Nancy Pelosi’s response to President Trump’s border address. There is a crisis at the border, The Washington Post and The New York Times reported on it. Yet, CNN and other trash liberal outlets say otherwise because a) they hate Trump; and b) it would give legitimacy to the president border agenda. The Democrats wanted to respond to the president’s address. And boy, was it something otherworldly. It was immediately mocked on social media and wasn’t persuasive in the slightest. Alas, the two sides of this shutdown debate, and they’re not budging. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) aptly noted that this response was a creep show. It was “one of the most frightening things” he had ever seen. The Texas Republican equated it to a hostage video in a segment with The Daily Caller (via The Hill):

I gotta say, watching the Schumer-Pelosi response was one of the most frightening things I’ve seen,” Cruz says. “You want to talk about a visual? I am pretty convinced that was an actual hostage video.”

“Go back and look at it again,” he adds. “I am virtually certain that Nancy is blinking S.O.S. as Chuck Schumer is talking. They’re hostage to the extreme, the radicals, to the crazies in their party and they’re not listening to the American people.”

First on Nancy Pelosi’s Agenda: Attacking Free Expression

. . .One of Nancy Pelosi’s first projects as new speaker of the House will be passing a government overhaul of campaign-finance and ethics rules that will, among other things, “expand voting rights.” One of the new bills — specifics are still cloudy — reportedly allocates a pool of taxpayer money to match small-dollar donations 6-to-1, as a way of encouraging “grass-roots campaigning,” according to The Wall Street Journal.

The package, fortunately, won’t pass the Senate. But government-financed campaigns — empowering the state to allocate money to preferred donors and dissuading non-preferred donors — has been something of a hobbyhorse in progressive circles. Setting aside the many constitutional concerns, the recent abuses by the Internal Revenue Service when tasked with regulating political speech demonstrate just how easy it is for bureaucrats to manipulate rules meant to govern speech. These are rules that shouldn’t exist, period.

Some big cities have already begun handing out tax-funded “democracy vouchers.” In other words, politicians have passed legislation that subsidizes the speech of people who will, for the most part, support them. It’s quite the racket. Pelosi wants to take this corruption national.

Reducing the power of “special interests” in Washington is always a popular issue with voters. The problem, of course, is that every voter considers another group a special interest. While as a political notion campaign-finance reform remains popular with Americans, specific campaign-finance reform legislation is always about inhibiting someone’s speech.

What many Americans don’t seem to accept, particularly partisans, is that not voting or participating in our political process is also a matter of free expression. There’s nothing, after all, in the Constitution about the state encouraging “grass-roots activism.” There is no amendment that calls on us to treat the First Amendment rights of Michael Bloomberg any differently than we do the grandmother who foolishly sends her Social Security check to Bernie Sanders. Nancy Pelosi’s Daughter Uses Gruesome Metaphor to Describe Her Mother

Incoming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) daughter chose an intense way to describe her mother during a CNN interview about Nancy Pelosi’s meetings with President Donald Trump over the government shutdown. . .

Here’s what she said:

“She’ll cut your head off, and you won’t even know you’re bleeding. That’s all you need to know about her. No one ever won betting against Nancy Pelosi. She’s persevered. You got to give her credit. No matter what you think of her, you have to give her credit because, think about it, think about all these presidents she’s endured, right? The [George H.W.] Bush, the [George W.] Bush, the Clinton.

She’s been through it all. So, she’s been around. This is not her first rodeo, as your friend George Bush would say. She knows what she’s doing, and that should make you sleep at night, knowing that somebody in this town knows what they’re doing.”

Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer have been in a standoff with President Donald Trump over funding for a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border. Pelosi said the Democratic-majority House plans to pass a funding bill without wall funding, and Trump insists that he will not sign a bill that doesn’t pay for the wall. The Man Who Could Impeach Trump

By Washington Examiner. Speaker-designate Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., has picked a new guiding force for Democrats investigating and potentially impeaching President Trump when they take control of the House next year.

Douglas Letter, a 40-year veteran of the Justice Department and former associate counsel in President Bill Clinton’s White House, will be appointed to the role of House general counsel, Pelosi said in a statement.

“Douglas Letter has an outstanding and highly decorated record of achievement in service of America,” Pelosi said. “He will bring deep experience and legal expertise to the House, as he counsels and represents our institution, Members and staff as House General Counsel.”

Letter, 65, served as director of the Justice Department’s Civil Division appellate staff up until February — a departure that was facilitated, sources told NPR, because of Trump’s constant criticisms of the DOJ.

He wrote in September it was “worrying” that Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani had suggested the use of executive privilege to bury Mueller’s report at the conclusion of his investigation. He said this assertion seemed “premature and misplaced.” (Read more from “The Man Who Could Impeach Trump” HERE)

40 Years of Experience Walks out the Door of the Justice Department

By NPR. Lawyer Douglas Letter joined the DOJ in 1978. For decades, he defended controversial policies advanced by Democrats and Republicans in the executive branch. . .

Letter, 64, reflected on his long government service on a sunny morning last week at the Georgetown Law Center, where he will be working and teaching national security law.

“My father and several other people in my family were also career public servants,” he said, “so I grew up feeling like public service was a calling.”

Letter fought for the government — no matter which political party controlled it — through the Reagan and Clinton and George W. Bush presidencies. After the terrorist attacks in September 2001, his docket included cases about treatment of detainees, lethal drone strikes and more.

You’ll Never Guess Where Pelosi Was Spotted During Government Shutdown

Democratic House leader Nancy Pelosi is spending the government shutdown at a luxury resort in Hawaii, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

Pelosi, who has put blame squarely on President Donald Trump for the current government shutdown, was spotted Thursday vacationing in Hawaii at the Fairmont Orchid resort, where room accommodations range from $899-a-night for a standard room to $4,899-a-night for the presidential suite.

The resort, on Hawaii’s Big Island, features a golf course, six restaurants, and a 10,000-square-foot oceanfront pool. It also features a “Spa Without Walls,” where the 110-minute Ali’i Royal Experience is available for $369 and a 50-minute couples massage runs $549, according to the spa menu. While at the spa, guests can snack on a gluten-free grilled prawn summer roll for $19.

Trump canceled his Christmas trip to Florida and remained in the White House, saying on Christmas Eve that he was “waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal.” The president left the White House on Christmas to travel to Iraq and meet with American troops stationed overseas. . . 

This is not Pelosi’s first holiday vacation to Hawaii. In 2011, it was reported by the Hawaii Reporter that Pelosi had in previous years stayed in a $10,000-a-night suite at the Four Seasons Resort in Kona for her holiday vacation.
