DOJ Sets Pelosi Straight After Attack Against AG Barr

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Thursday that Attorney General William Barr lied to Congress, something she noted would be a “crime.” The Department of Justice has called these accusations “baseless,” “reckless,” “irresponsible,” and “false.”

On Wednesday, Barr testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee. He had been asked to answer questions related to special counsel Robert Mueller’s final report on the investigation into whether or not the Trump campaign colluded with Russia in the months leading up to the 2016 presidential election.

During the hearing, Senate Democrats accused Barr of covering for President Donald Trump instead of respecting the integrity of the investigation. Barr told the committee that Trump “fully cooperated with Mueller’s investigation,” a point Democrats contested since Trump himself refused to be interviewed by Mueller. Also under scrutiny was Barr’s summary of the Mueller report, which Mueller had said in a letter did not adequately reflect his results. The full Mueller report, with redactions, was released more than three weeks after Barr’s summary.

Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, told Barr in the hearing that “America deserves better” than him and that he “should resign.”

Barr, who had appeared before the Senate committee voluntarily, opted not to return for a second day of questioning on Thursday before the House Judiciary Committee. So that hearing proceeded without Barr, with a ceramic chicken sitting on the table near where he would have sat — a mocking gesture from Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn.

While several Democratic leaders have accused Barr of going out of his way to defend Trump, Pelosi took things one step further.

“What is deadly serious about it is the attorney general of the United States of America is not telling the truth to the Congress of the United States. That’s a crime,” she said.

“He lied to Congress. If anybody else did that, it would be considered a crime. Nobody is above the law.”

But the DOJ scoffed at Pelosi’s accusations. Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec told CNBC that Pelosi’s “baseless attack on the Attorney General” was “reckless, irresponsible and false.” Conservative Review has reached out to the Department of Justice for further comment. Pelosi Makes Explosive Claim Against President Trump

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters Monday night that President Trump “has demonstrated on a daily basis his obstruction of justice” amid a conflict between the White House and Congress over the terms of scheduled testimony by Attorney General William Barr before the House Judiciary Committee.

Barr is scheduled to testify before the Senate and House Judiciary panels this week on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report. However, the Justice Department informed the House committee on Sunday that Barr would not attend the scheduled Thursday hearing if committee lawyers seek to question him.

When asked if she had a message for Barr Monday evening, Pelosi said: “Respect the constitution. Honor your oath of office. Honor the request of Congress. For the American people.”

It is unusual for committee counsels to question a witness. But committees can generally make their own rules, and other panels have made similar exceptions. Democrats scheduled a committee vote for Wednesday on a proposal to allow both parties to turn over 30 minutes of questioning per side to staff lawyers. The Justice Department and committee Republicans have balked at this arrangement.

“The Attorney General agreed to appear before Congress,” Justice Department spokesperson Kerri Kupec said late Sunday. “Therefore, Members of Congress should be the ones doing the questioning. Liberal and Moderate Democrats Unveil an Infrastructure Road Map With No Price Tag as Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer Prepare to Meet Trump

By CNBC. A broad coalition of House Democrats is laying out an infrastructure plan road map that calls on the federal government to provide the majority of funding and warns against repealing environmental regulations.

The resolution, to be introduced Monday, is a joint effort of members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, the moderate Blue Dogs and newly elected Democrats. The groups hope it will provide a framework for party leadership ahead of Tuesday’s scheduled trip to the White House by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer for a meeting with President Donald Trump to determine whether there is common ground on what traditionally has been a bipartisan issue.

The resolution calls for significant federal investment in infrastructure, stating that most of the funding should come from the government rather than private entities — a sharp contrast to Trump’s initial plan to leverage $200 billion in federal dollars as an incentive to attract a total of $1 trillion in infrastructure spending. The president’s proposal never gained traction on Capitol Hill, and Trump himself did not seem to fully embrace it. Pelosi Reveals Why Dems Can’t Impeach Trump

By Townhall. Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Monday penned a letter to her Democratic colleagues about the Mueller report. Without coming out and directly saying it, Pelosi told her caucus she doesn’t want to go through with impeachment proceedings against President Trump. The reason? The American people will see their proceedings as an act of “passion or prejudice,” not one of “truth finding.” . . .

We know the progressive wing of the Democratic Party, like Reps. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (NY), Rashida Tlaib (MI) and Ilhan Omar (MN), want to move forward with impeachment proceedings. They even campaigned on doing such. Other more moderate Democrats, like Pelosi, see the danger in moving full steam ahead with impeachment. Pelosi to Democrats: If Facts Support Impeaching Trump, ‘That’s the Place We Have to Go’

By USA Today. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi left open the possibility Monday of impeachment of Donald Trump during a conference call with Democrats, saying “if that’s the place the facts take us, that’s the place we have to go.”

“We have to save our democracy. This isn’t about Democrats or Republicans. It’s about saving our democracy,” Pelosi said in a call with her colleagues, according to a source on the call. But Pelosi also urged Democrats to first focus on following the facts.

“Whether it’s articles of impeachment or investigations, it’s the same obtaining of facts. We don’t have to go to articles of impeachment to obtain the facts, the presentation of facts,” she said.

The nearly hour-and-a-half call was the first time Democrats had all spoken following the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on the investigation into Russian election interference.

“There’s real consensus that we need to take this responsibility seriously and people are very sober about the implications about the work that lies ahead and committed to making sure that we hold the president accountable,” said Rep. David Cicilline, a member of the Judiciary Committee and the chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee, which helps the party with messaging. Newly Resurfaced Video Highlights Nancy Pelosi’s Glaring Hypocrisy on the Mueller Report

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday blasted Attorney General William Barr for allowing President Donald Trump’s personal legal team the opportunity to review special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation report before its public release.

But Pelosi’s pearl clutching was marred with hypocrisy after video surfaced showing that Pelosi once advocated for the exact opposite position — when it would have benefited a Democrat. . .

After Barr confirmed during his press conference on Thursday that Trump’s personal attorneys reviewed a redacted version of the report prior to its public release, Pelosi alleged Barr had “confirmed the staggering partisan effort by the Trump Admin to spin public’s view of the #MuellerReport.”

As NTK pointed out, Pelosi said in 1998 that then-President Bill Clinton had the right to review the Ken Starr report, which detailed Clinton’s sex scandal with Monica Lewinsky.

During debate over a bill that called for the immediate public release of the report, Pelosi told then-House Speaker Newt Gingrich that Clinton had a right to read the report before Congress — let alone the public. Pelosi: We Have a ‘Moral Obligation’ to Future Generations on Climate Change, but Not Against Killing Them in the Womb

Once again, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has played the faith and morality cards to push for an agenda item, starkly showing up her own hypocrisy in the process.

“If you believe, as I do, that this is God’s creation, this planet, we have a moral responsibility to be good stewards of it,” Pelosi said Tuesday. “But even if you don’t subscribe to that, you know we have a moral responsibility to future generations.”

The speaker made the remarks at a press conference for the “Climate Action Now Act” alongside other House Democrats.

Contrast that with Pelosi’s pro-abortion position, which is in direct opposition to the teachings of her faith, since she self-identifies as a Catholic.

Nancy Pelosi is the highest ranking late-term abortion supporter in the House of Representatives as well as the highest in the line of presidential succession.

When President Trump spoke out about late-term abortion in his State of the Union speech, the speaker responded by calling his comments “really quite a sad thing.” But if our future generations manage to make it out of the birth canal without being burned by saline solution, dismembered, or otherwise aborted, then we have a moral obligation to them to do something about the changing weather? Pelosi Tries to Argue Illegals Should Be Able to Vote…Using a Reagan Quote?

Earlier this week, Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a press conference in Austin, Texas. One of the issues that came up was whether or not “new immigrants” – translation: illegal aliens – should be allowed to vote. Of course, we know where Pelosi (and her Democratic caucus) stands on this issue. They believe anyone who lives in America, regardless of their citizenship status, should be able to vote in our elections. During her press conference, she made a rather strange appeal using a quote by President Ronald Reagan.

When we talk about newcomers, we have to recognize the constant reinvigoration of America that they are, that we all have been – our families. And that, unless you’re blessed to be Native American – which is a blessing in itself that we respect – but that constant reinvigoration of hope, determination, optimism, courage, to make the future better for the next generation, those are American traits.

And these newcomers make America more American. And we want them, when they come here, to be fully part of our system. And that means not suppressing the vote of our newcomers to America.

Ronald Reagan said this: ‘This is the last speech I will make as President of the United States and I have a message I want to communicate to the country I love.’ He went on to talk about the Statue of Liberty, what it means to the world and that beacon of hope, what it means to people who have come here and seen that statue to welcome them: our ancestors, our parents, our grandparents.

Pelosi’s Untouchables

Reps. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., Rashida Tlaib, D-Mich., and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., are becoming examples of a new super-class of human being, riding roughshod over all their peers, proudly displaying their ignorance of, and hatred toward, all things American. They are Pelosi’s Untouchables.

Deriding the traditional patriotism and conservatism of the American people, the socialist club in Congress spews kook theology, far-left ideology, and outrageous cultural Marxism. They are the tip of the sword that will skewer this nation and engulf us all into a prolonged civil war based on race and religion. And Pelosi is allowing all of it.

Our Judeo-Christian roots of Western civilization are under attack every time these women open their mouths and spew their poison. It used to be that we were outraged every time Pelosi misquoted the Bible or used Jesus as a reason to steal money from some and give it to others. In fact, only ten years ago, we were all made aware of the Left’s intent to increase government and “fundamentally transform” the United States of America.

But now, up is down. Wrong is right. Our differences are thrown up by these Untouchables as reasons for personal privilege, and the entire Democrat Party’s kookiest ideas are considered mainstream by the sycophantic, loathsome press. They are hell-bent on destroying our entire system, our values, and our common interests. Their supremacist views will destroy Western civilization.

Pelosi pretends not to hear some things, then, responding only to massive pressure, pretends to be authoritative and suggest sham apologies. But she allows these Untouchables to foment hatred and introduce wild points of view that stand as complete opposites to what have been our policies as a nation forever. Fundamental transformation, right on schedule.

I don’t know any other way to put it. It feels good to say America will never be a socialist country. It feels good to say we’re making American great again. But watching Pelosi applaud a group of anti-Semites and radical communists who are “leaning in” on their very loud hatred of America the way we knew it means we are falling, and very fast.

Just like a seventh-grade teacher who will not stand up to a few thugs in her classroom, there will be chaos. Pelosi is fooling herself if she thinks the fact that she’s a woman is enough. These women, whose privilege derives from the color of their skin and the hatred in their hearts, will take over and impose chaos.

Their upside-down views on America are heralded. We hear of nothing else. Their views are not compatible with an America that can be great. Their views are not compatible with an America that can be proud. Their views and the chips on their shoulders are not compatible with a free and color-blind society that allows for diversity of opinion, love, and peace.

Pelosi said she’s not in the censorship business, so she won’t condemn the fakestinian Tlaib. She won’t remove the malicious anti-Semite Islamist Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee, and the favored communist Ocasio-Cortez is a hot mess but determined. WATCH: Pelosi Says a Democratic President Will Declare a National Emergency on This Issue

After President Donald Trump declared his national emergency Thursday afternoon, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) had a warning for Republicans: a Democratic president can declare a national emergency on gun violence. Because today marked the one year anniversary of the tragic shooting in Parkland, Florida, Pelosi used the opportunity to slam Trump’s decision to declare an emergency on the border but not for gun violence.

. . .

If the president declares a national emergency on gun violence, then what’s the solution? Universal background checks? High capacity magazine ban? An assault weapons ban? Implementing red flag law? A national registry? Gun confiscation?

At least when Trump talked about declaring a national emergency at the border we knew what the end goal was: a border wall to keep out illegal aliens. With a “gun violence” declaration, there’s no clear goal or endgame. And not only that, but this would be a direct assault on the Second Amendment. YES, SHE ACTUALLY SAID IT: Abortion Champion Pelosi Worried About ‘Generations to Come’

On Thursday, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, championing the Democratic Party’s efforts to address climate change, tweeted a message which was staggering in its hypocrisy, blathering, “We have a moral responsibility to protect God’s creation for generations to come. That is why today, we named members to the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. #ActOnClimate.”

So Pelosi feels that “we have a moral responsibility to protect God’s creation for generations to come?” Just which generations is she talking about? Surely it can’t be the generations yet to come who will be snuffed out by her own party’s embrace of aborting them. What is Pelosi’s position an abortion?

For over forty years, the Supreme Court has consistently ruled that a woman’s health decisions must be her own, in consultation with her family, her physician, and her faith. I am pleased the Supreme Court will be hearing the challenge to Texas politicians’ appalling attempt to deny women their constitutional right to make their own reproductive health decisions.

Poll: Nancy Pelosi’s Negatives Jumped More Than Trump’s During Shutdown

Pundits are quick to tweet the top lines from a new NBC/WSJ poll showing that a majority of Americans think the country is on the “wrong track” following the government shutdown, but do you know the poll also found one Democratic leader’s negatives shot up more than any other politician?

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is more unpopular than both President Donald Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

In fact, the percentage of respondents with a “very negative” of Pelosi increased by six points from 28 percent in December to 34 percent in January. President Trump’s “very negative” numbers held at 43 percent over the last month, and McConnell’s numbers actually improved by one point. Pelosi’s total numbers show a 19-point gap between her positives and negatives, larger than McConnell (18 points) and Trump (12 points).

But the headlines don’t mention that. NBC News’ write-up of the poll focused on how “six-in-10 Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, and nearly 70 percent of them have negative opinions on the state of the nation today.”

President Trump’s approval rating has held at 43 percent approval, with 54 percent of those polled disapproving of Trump’s performance in office. Other recent polls have shown President Trump’s approval rating taking a hit during the shutdown.
