WHAT’S WRONG WITH NANCY? Pelosi Appears Dazed — Stops Speaking, Stares at Audience

As Nancy Pelosi struggles to beat back an insurgency by her House Democratic colleagues over a string of election losses, there are new questions over her health after she suffered multiple brain freezes during a recent appearance in New York City.

During a Sunday event at the 92nd Street Y, Pelosi would awkwardly stop mid-sentence repeatedly, stare at the audience, and then continue speaking.

Speaking about her father, Pelosi said, “He was part of a group called the Berkson Group and they did rallies and pageants and parades and um, and when he stood up on the floor of Congress, ‘I stand here as a representative of the—” she said before halting and staring at the audience.

Then she resumed, “members of the Jewish army.”

Moments later, while she was talking about a planning an agenda after losing four special elections, she said, “For us, we have to make sure that our members—-participate in that.” (Read more from “WHAT’S WRONG WITH NANCY? Pelosi Appears Dazed — Stops Speaking, Stares at Audience” HERE)

Pelosi Explains Support for Ryan’s Spending Deal

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi explained her support for the $1.2 trillion spending bill that the Republican Congress passed yesterday and President Obama signed into law by pointing out to reporters that the Republicans “were willing to concede so much” to get the bill passed.

The bill, Pelosi noted, did not stop funding of Planned Parenthood, and the Republicans “had to take out their provisions to destroy ACA”—the Affordable Care Act, AKA Obamacare.

Pelosi argued that the Republican leaders were so intent on getting a provision to allow exports of U.S. crude oil that they were “willing to give up so much.”

“The fact that the Republicans wanted big oil so desperately really argues for voting for the bill because they were willing to concede so much,” said Pelosi.

In the end, more House Democrats voted for the bill than House Republicans. It passed 316 to 113 with 5 members not voting. Those voting for the bill included 166 Democrats and 150 Republicans. Those voting against it included 95 Republicans and 18 Democrats. (Read more from “Pelosi Explains Support for Ryan’s Spending Deal” HERE)

Pelosi: Democrats ‘Open’ to Helping GOP Elect Speaker

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi signaled Saturday there could be “an openness” among at least some House Democrats to voting for a Republican speaker on the floor — and she suggested the GOP turmoil could help put Democrats back in charge come 2017.

“I think in our caucus there is interest and support. There’s an openness to a bipartisan approach to this,” Pelosi said in an interview at the Texas Tribune Festival . . .

“Do you want him to be totally destroyed in his caucus if I mentioned who I thought would be good?” Pelosi said when asked by the Texas Tribune’s Abby Livingston about the prospects of her casting a vote for a Republican speaker. “That would be the end of him” . . .

Boehner’s eventual announcement of his intent to resign at the end of October rendered those discussions moot, but until that point, members of the House Freedom Caucus were counting on Democrats voting “present,” or even in favor of Pelosi, as a way of keeping Boehner from getting the 218 votes he needed to keep his gavel.

As conservatives drew nearer to forcing the crucial vote on the House floor, Democrats stayed silent on what their strategy would be — whether they would help protect Boehner from an insurrection or sit back and watch the Republican Conference implode. Pelosi’s statement Saturday was the first indication of what Democrats might have done in that situation. (Read more from “Pelosi: Democrats ‘Open’ to Helping GOP Elect Speaker” HERE)

Bombshell Report: Boehner Cut Deal with Nancy Pelosi to Use Netanyahu Speech as Cover to Fund Obama’s Executive Amnesty

By Matthew Boyle. A new bombshell report from Politico found that House Speaker John Boehner had several days of secret negotiations with Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, the recently emboldened former Speaker, leading up to his decision to flip-flop and fund President Obama’s executive amnesty—including a pre-hashed out deal to use the hoopla around Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Tuesday address to Congress over Iran’s nuclear ambitions as political cover to sneak in the extraordinarily controversial vote. Even with the bombshell report, however, Boehner’s office continues to deny any deal took place.

“It was Monday at 5:30 p.m. when Pelosi and Boehner agreed that it was ‘best to take up the matter on Tuesday immediately after Netanyahu’s address in order to deal with the matter as quickly as possible upon return of the Senate papers,’ according to an aide familiar with the conversations,” Politico’s Lauren French wrote on Thursday evening.

That part of a supposed deal between Pelosi and Boehner came after what French reported were several days of negotiating and dealmaking between the current and former Speaker. French wrote:

Since Friday, Pelosi and Boehner have held quiet rounds of negotiations and maneuvering to push the measure through the House over the objections of a cadre of conservatives in Boehner’s conference who scuttled a three-week funding bill in a dramatic showdown last week. As late as Tuesday, Boehner tapped Democrats to help pass a procedural rule for a funding bill for Amtrak that Republicans were threatening to bring down if it did not include a provision that would stop a clean DHS bill from moving forward. But Pelosi pledged Democratic support to move forward — a departure from normal where the minority party always votes against rules brought by the party controlling the floor.

Dems Vow to Protect Boehner from Conservative Coup

By Mike Lillis. Tea Party Republicans contemplating a bid to oust Rep. John Boehner (R-Ohio) shouldn’t count on Democrats to help them unseat the Speaker.

And without their support, there is no chance to topple Boehner in this Congress.

A number of right-wing Republicans, long wary of Boehner’s commitment to GOP efforts attacking President Obama’s policy priorities, have openly considered a coup in an attempt to transfer the gavel into more conservative hands.

But Democrats from across an ideological spectrum say they’d rather see Boehner remain atop the House than replace him with a more conservative Speaker who would almost certainly be less willing to reach across the aisle in search of compromise. Replacing him with a Tea Party Speaker, they say, would only bring the legislative process — already limping along — to a screeching halt.

“I’d probably vote for Boehner [because] who the hell is going to replace him? [Ted] Yoho?” Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-N.J.) said Wednesday, referencing the Florida Tea Party Republican who’s fought Boehner on a host of bipartisan compromise bills. (Read more from this story HERE)

Nancy Pelosi Refuses to Say Unborn Babies at 20 Weeks are Human

Photo Credit: Life Site News By John Jalsevac. Is an unborn baby at 20 weeks human? It’s a straightforward question, but House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi couldn’t bring herself to respond to it when asked twice during a press briefing today.

Both times Pelosi dodged the question, saying that politicians shouldn’t be involved in “reproductive health” choices.

The second time the question was answered, Pelosi argued in her response that as “a Catholic and a mom of five” she has “great standing” on the issue. More, she said, than most of her colleagues, and even the pope.

The question, and follow-up, were asked by a reporter with CNSNews in reference to the ongoing debate about a bill in Congress that would ban abortion after 20 weeks, except in cases of rape, incest, and a threat to the life of the mother. The bill bases the ban upon the science showing that babies at that age can feel the pain of being aborted. (Read more about her answer and unborn babies HERE)

Amanda Marcotte: Babies With Down Syndrome Should be Aborted

By Cassy Fiano. North Dakota recently passed a bill outlawing the abortion of babies based on birth defects, like Down syndrome. Pro-lifers and disability advocates alike cheered the decision, because it is horrific to deprive a baby of life simply because he does not meet our society’s standards of perfection.

It is disgusting to see how low we will stoop to avoid “defective” babies, with mothers aborting their children even for very minor defects like cleft lips, which can be repaired. For North Dakota step up and ban these abortions is a step in the right direction, reaffirming that people with disabilities and birth defects have intrinsic value and worth just as the rest of us do, and that they deserve life, too. Some people, though, disagree.

Indiana state senator Travis Holdman has just introduced a similar bill to the one passed in North Dakota, and Amanda Marcotte is not happy about it . . .

Perhaps these bills are showing up because medical advances give people a better understanding of disabilities, and more acceptance for people who have them. It’s not about the “growing boldness” of pro-lifers — it’s about protecting life, all life, even life that Marcotte doesn’t see as worth living . . .

Yet pro-abortion extremists like Amanda Marcotte would instead follow in Richard Dawkins’s footsteps, saying that babies with Down syndrome should be aborted, and all because they find these disabilities inconvenient. They relentlessly beat into the heads of women that a child with a disability will ruin their lives, because God knows that if people knew the reality of raising a child with Down syndrome or another disability, people wouldn’t be as quick to abort them. Pelosi: Obama Must Stop Deportations, Allow Entry to Millions More Illegal Immigrants

Photo Credit: Graeme Jennings / ExaminerBy SUSAN FERRECHIO.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called on President Obama to issue a “bold” executive order that would stop the deportation of millions of illegal immigrants, including farm workers, families of people allowed to remain in the country under the administration’s “Dream Act” policy, and many others.

In an op-ed published by Univisión, Pelosi, along with Reps. Zoe Lofgren and Luis Gutiérrez, called on Obama to legalize immigrants who would have benefited from a comprehensive immigration reform bill the U.S. Senate passed in 2013.

The trio of lawmakers said the president should go even further by permitting close relatives of citizens and lawful permanent residents to gain entry into the United States, and blocking the deportation of relatives who are here illegally.

“Doing so would not permit family members to skip the line, but it would allow them to wait in line with their family until a visa number becomes available,” the lawmakers wrote.

With less than a week to go before the pivotal midterm elections, Democrats are eager to bolster turnout among their base of Hispanic voters.

MOTHER OF MAN KILLED BY ILLEGAL: PRES ‘IGNORING US COMPLETELY’

By BREITBART TV.

Mary Ann Mendoza, whose son, Brandon, was killed by an illegal immigrant slammed President Obama for having “no concern” for her or the families of others who have lost their loved to ones to crimes committed by illegal immigrants on Wednesday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto” on the Fox News Channel.

“There seems to be no concern for what we’re going through and the issues that we want to bring to him [Obama]. Thousands of us are waiting for at least an acknowledgment from him that he understands the pain that we are experiencing losing a loved one at the hands of repeat illegal criminals. He has taken the time to meet with them. He has addressed their issues, and he’s now doing something about it in this amnesty move that he’s going to make…

Embattled House Democrats Turn Against Nancy Pelosi

Photo Credit: Win McNamee / GettyHouse Republicans have surprising new company in attacking Nancy Pelosi: her fellow House Democrats.

Three Democrats running in GOP-leaning House districts have used late-stage television ads in a bid to distance themselves from the liberal leader of Democrats’ House caucus—the same caucus they’re fighting to join in 2015.

“Here’s what I believe: Congress is broken,” says Gwen Graham, one of the Democratic Party’s top recruits, in a recent TV ad as a photo of Pelosi and House Speaker John Boehner flashes on the screen. “Both parties—Republican and Democrat—are to blame. And both need new leaders in Washington.”

In Georgia, Rep. John Barrow, one of five Democrats to vote against Pelosi as party leader at the start of the 113th Congress in 2013, uses that fact as one of the key reasons to reelect him. “I voted against Nancy Pelosi as speaker,” Barrow brags to Georgians in a recent television ad.

John Boehner Joins Nancy Pelosi to Pass Bill Funding Planned Parenthood, ObamaCare

Photo Credit: APHouse Speaker John Boehner (R) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D) united Wednesday evening to fund the government after September 30 by passing a continuing resolution (CR) that includes the funding of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, and Obamacare.

Republicans needed significant support from Democrats to pass the CR, 319-108. However, 53 Republicans and 55 Democrats voted against it, reports CNSNews.com. The bill will fund the government through December 11th during the “lame duck” session of Congress.

Among the Republican members of the House who voted against the resolution were Reps. Louis Gohmert (TX); Michele Bachmann (MN); Trey Gowdy (SC); John Fleming (LA); Jim Jordan (OH); Scott Garrett (NJ); Jim Bridenstine (OK); and Dana Rohrabacher (CA).

Nancy Pelosi: Civilization ‘In Jeopardy’ If GOP Takes Senate (+video)

On the one hand, California U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi claims that Democrats are not “fear-mongers;” on the other hand, she believes civilization is doomed if Republicans take control of the Senate from Democrats in November.

The former speaker of the House made those dramatic, incongruous statements on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” which aired live from Washington, D.C. Friday.

Maher asked Pelosi about recent polling which shows that the GOP is likely to take over the upper chamber and asked, given gridlock in Washingon, why it matters that Democrats keep control.

“It would be very important for the Democrats to retain control of the Senate,” Pelosi told Maher. “Civilization as we know it today would be in jeopardy if the Republicans win the Senate.”

Democrats currently hold 53 seats in the Senate. Republicans have 45. Two independents caucus with Democrats.

Reporter Ticks Off Nancy Pelosi By Mentioning George Bush

Photo Credit: Chip Somodevilla / Getty ImagesHouse Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was visibly irritated when a reporter brought up former President George W. Bush and asked whether she thinks Obama is following his lead.

“He’s not relevant right now,” she said at her weekly press briefing Thursday, after a reporter brought up a statement from former Bush administration lawyer John Yoo reported by BuzzFeed Wednesday: “President Obama has adopted the same view of war powers as the Bush administration.”

“Do you agree with that?” the reporter asked.
