A 74-year-old woman in Manhattan was punched in the face after she confronted a group of teenagers who snatched her purse, police said.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. Thursday as the woman was standing on East 14th Street in the East Village, the NYPD said.

Trump Orders Review to Defund NYC, Other ‘Anarchist’ Cities

President Trump is ordering the federal government to begin the process of defunding New York City and three other cities where officials allowed “lawless” protests and cut police budgets amid rising violent crime, The Post can exclusively reveal.

Trump on Wednesday signed a five-page memo ordering all federal agencies to send reports to the White House Office of Management and Budget that detail funds that can be redirected.

New York City, Washington, DC, Seattle and Portland are initial targets as Trump makes “law and order” a centerpiece of his re-election campaign after months of unrest and violence following the May killing of George Floyd by Minnesota police.

“My Administration will not allow Federal tax dollars to fund cities that allow themselves to deteriorate into lawless zones,” Trump says in the memo, which twice mentions New York Mayor Bill de Blasio by name.

“To ensure that Federal funds are neither unduly wasted nor spent in a manner that directly violates our Government’s promise to protect life, liberty, and property, it is imperative that the Federal Government review the use of Federal funds by jurisdictions that permit anarchy, violence, and destruction in America’s cities.” (Read more from “Trump Orders Review to Defund NYC, Other ‘Anarchist’ Cities” HERE)

The State of New York Sues to Dissolve the NRA

By Daily Mail. The NRA is counter-suing the New York Attorney General, claiming her bombshell lawsuit on Thursday that seeks to dismantle the gun organization is a ‘premeditated’ political attack that has been deliberately timed to thwart Trump’s reelection chances.

New York AG Letitia James filed her lawsuit on Thursday. She claims that Executive Vice-President Wayne LaPierre, former Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Wilson ‘Woody’ Phillips, former Chief of Staff and the Executive Director of General Operations Joshua Powell, and Corporate Secretary and General Counsel John Frazer used the NRA as a ‘personal piggy bank’ for years. . .

The NRA responded angrily.

‘This was a baseless, premeditated attack on our organization and the Second Amendment freedoms it fights to defend.

‘You could have set your watch by it: the investigation was going to reach its crescendo as we move into the 2020 election cycle. It’s a transparent attempt to score political points and attack the leading voice in opposition to the leftist agenda. (Read more from “The State of New York Sues to Dissolve the NRA” HERE)

Who are the allegedly corrupt leaders of the NRA?

By Joanna Walters. The NRA executive vice-president and chief executive [Wayne LaPierre] has led the group for 39 years. . . Thursday’s lawsuit alleges he “has exploited the organization for his financial benefit … [and] to continue, by use of a secret ‘poison pill contract’, his employment even after removal and ensuring NRA income for life; and to intimidate, punish, and expel anyone at a senior level who raised concerns about his conduct. The effect has been to divert millions of dollars away from the charitable mission.”

He is accused of diverting NRA funds for “trips to the Bahamas to vacation on a yacht owned by the principal of numerous NRA vendors … costly black car services, gifts for favored friends”. . .

[Wilson] Phillips is accused of facilitating millions of dollars in entertainment and travel expenses incurred by NRA executives and being improperly billed to the group and evading IRS requirements.

A report in the New Yorker last year alleged that before working for the NRA, in the early 90s, Phillips was quietly fired by a consultancy firm in Washington DC after a $1m embezzlement. . .

Millions of dollars of NRA funds were misappropriated with [Joshua] Powell’s assistance, the lawsuit says, and he secured contracts that secretly benefited family members. (Read more from the story “New York Sues the NRA” HERE)

Opinion: The NRA’s Leadership is Probably Guilty of Corruption, But the Organization Shouldn’t be Disbanded

By Matt Ford. [New York Attorney General’s] move ignites an existential legal battle for the ailing gun-rights organization that will likely take years to resolve. James’s lawsuit arrives after many years of sustained internal strife within the NRA’s ranks, which pitted LaPierre and his allies against whistleblowers and dissident members who raised concerns about patterns of improper spending. The scandal has sapped the organization’s once-vaunted political strength and drained its coffers; LaPierre reportedly claimed in January that the NRA’s legal struggles had, by that time, cost the organization at least $100 million.

. . . [T]he NRA’s leadership has destabilized the organization more effectively than any state official ever could. In the complaint, which draws heavily from her office’s investigation and from efforts by journalists, James describes a constant stream of unjustified cash and perks that flowed from the NRA’s coffers into the hands of favored members of its upper ranks. LaPierre, who has served as the taciturn and incendiary face of the organization for more than a decade, was the recipient, and often the arbiter, of this largesse. . .

But I can’t bring myself to embrace the notion that a state attorney general—any state attorney general—should be able to disband one of the nation’s most popular political organizations because its leaders misused its members’ donations. If this is the opening bid in an eventual settlement that purges the NRA’s corrupt upper ranks and leaves its ultimate fate to others, however, I would welcome it. NYC Crime: Shootings Increase While Arrests Cut in Half, Data Shows

By ABC News 7. An analysis of crime statistics by 7 On Your Side Investigates shows shootings have increased dramatically over the past few months in New York City, while arrests have been cut by more than half.

From two men opening fire at a prayer vigil for shooting victims in Cyprus Hills, to a man getting shot in broad daylight walking home from work in Crown Heights, to a 1-year-old getting killed by a stray bullet while sitting in his stroller in Brooklyn — it has been a violent summer in New York City.

Despite community rallies to stop the violence, shootings continue while those getting arrested have decreased. NYPD police records show arrests are down by 54% this June compared to last June.

“It’s the most horrific time to be in the police profession,” said Professor Maria Haberfeld with John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She believes the number of violent crimes will continue to increase. (Read more from “NYC Crime: Shootings Increase While Arrests Cut in Half, Data Shows” HERE)

Rioters Target NYPD Vehicles, Light Fires in Chaotic City Scene; Protests Explode Across the Country

By New York Post. Anti-cop demonstrators wreaked havoc in Lower Manhattan on Saturday night, setting fires and vandalizing several NYPD vehicles.

The chaos and destruction can be seen on video and was meant as a show of solidarity with protesters in Portland and Seattle, according to officials and police sources.

Video of the night’s unrest shows vandals defacing a trio of marked NYPD vans, tagging them with graffiti, slashing their tires and attempting to smash in their windows with a signpost and the wheel of a bicycle.

Another segment of the video shows four demonstrators jumping atop a marked department SUV, one of them holding an inverted American flag with the message “F–k NYPD” scrawled across it in black. . .

A few hundred demonstrators assembled at Rivington and Ludlow streets on the Lower East Side, and from there marched towards One Police Plaza, sowing chaos along the way, sources said. (Read more from “Rioters Target NYPD Vehicles, Light Fires in Chaotic City Scene” HERE)

From Los Angeles to Richmond to Omaha, police and protesters clashed in a tumultuous Saturday night that saw scores arrested after demonstrators took the streets and police in some cities dispersed crowds with tear gas and pepper spray.

In Austin, a man was shot and killed in the midst of a downtown rally. In Richmond, a truck was set ablaze outside police headquarters. Outside of Denver, a Jeep sped through a phalanx of people marching down an interstate when a shot was fired, injuring a protester, police said. NYC Councilwoman Freaks Out Over White Man Holding Black Child: ‘It Hurts People’

Members of New York City’s Community Education Council District 2 (CEC D2) behaved like the children they are meant to represent in last week’s meeting, when discussions of a joke from a past meeting devolved into screaming, personal attacks, and slanders.

During the council’s June meeting, the group was tackling school integration. Council member Thomas Wrocklage had brought his toddler daughter and a friend’s nephew. The nephew spent much of the meeting climbing on and off Wrocklage’s lap.

This innocent image of a man holding a child was the target of scorn by his fellow council members. Rachel Broshi told Wrocklage, “It hurts people when they see a white man bouncing a brown baby on their lap and they don’t know the context. That is harmful.”

Broshi, and several other council members, argued that the image of a white man holding a black child was inherently racist. When Wrocklage asked Broshi to explain why holding a friend’s nephew was racist merely due to their differing races, Broshi refused, yelling at Wrocklage, “Read a book. Read Ibram Kendi. Read ‘White Fragility.’ Read ‘How to Talk to White People.’” . . .

In the aftermath of the meeting, Wrocklage faced an onslaught of allegations of racism on social media. Around 100 parents in District 2 signed a letter to Maud Maron, the president of the school board, complaining about Wrocklage, who claims the letter slanders him with false allegations. NYC Mayor Plans BLM Mural in Front of Trump Tower

Mayor Bill de Blasio is planning to install a massive Black Lives Matter mural right outside Trump Tower in Manhattan, The Post has learned.

Plans for the mural — which will be painted in yellow block letters along Fifth Avenue between 56th and 57th streets — come as the city grapples with troubling surges in gun violence and illegal firework activity.

“Obviously he is doing it to antagonize the president,” a source said. “This is what he is concerned about while the city burns. What an amateur politician.”

The source said the mayor’s office reached out to the Department of Transportation about the feasibility of the mural — but it was mentioned that de Blasio wanted it done. . .

De Blasio hatched the idea a few days after Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser had “Black Lives Matter” painted along a street leading to the White House, according to a second source. The plan was finalized last week — after locations for the other murals across the five boroughs were announced on Juneteenth, the source said. Shootings Surge in NYC Amid Disbanding of NYPD’s Plainclothes Anti-Crime Unit; REPORT: Seattle’s Breakaway CHOP Is Now a Murder Scene

By New York Post. Shootings are surging this week in New York City, with 28 incidents and 38 victims reported since Monday — the day the NYPD disbanded its plainclothes anti-crime unit, The Post learned on Friday.

By comparison, the same week last year there were only 12 shootings for the entire week.

In the most recent reported shooting, at 4 p.m. Friday in East New York, Brooklyn, a 27-year-old man died of multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, face and leg in front of 640 Stanley Avenue.

A 17-year-old boy who was also shot there was in stable condition, police said.

“This is what the politicians wanted — no bail, nobody in Rikers, cops not arresting anyone,” one angry law enforcement source said Friday. (Read more from “Shootings Surge in NYC Amid Disbanding of NYPD’s Plainclothes Anti-Crime Unit” HERE)

Report: Seattle’s Breakaway CHOP Is Now a Murder Scene

By PJ Media. If you listen to much of the media, Seattle’s anarchist-occupied section is part street party, part SJW indoctrination center. It’s certainly the latter, but it’s perhaps less of a carnival despite Police Chief Carmen Best’s insistence that it’s not a “cop-free zone.”

Last week an unwilling resident found himself and his business subjected to crime after a CHOP speaker urged the crowd to attack, and neither the police nor the fire department showed up to help him. . .

No additional detail is available yet. Journalist Omari Salisbury tweets that he may have an update later today.

Here’s Why Governor Cuomo Is Threatening to Shut Down Manhattan (VIDEO)

New York City has experienced weeks of George Floyd protests and riots. Thousands of people crammed in close proximity, violating social distancing guidelines. A great deal of the protesters did not wear masks, and chanted protest battle cries, releasing potentially dangerous coronavirus respiratory droplets into the air. But New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo doesn’t seem to be too concerned with the protests. He is very perturbed about too many patrons at restaurants, and he wants New Yorkers to rat out any businesses not following COVID-19 restrictions. . .

After seeing the viral video of the crowds, Cuomo unleashed fresh threats against New Yorkers. The Democratic governor vowed to shut down Manhattan and the Hamptons if throngs of people frequented bars and restaurants. Cuomo said the state received 25,000 complaints against businesses not complying with coronavirus restrictions.

“We’re getting reports from all across the state that there are large gatherings. Social distancing is being violated. People are not wearing masks,” Cuomo said. “Manhattan and the Hamptons are the leading areas in this state with violations. They are rampant, and there’s not enough enforcement.”

Cuomo threatened to put parts of the state back on complete lockdown if the behavior continued. “If local governments are not monitoring policing, doing the compliance, yes, there is a very real possibility that we would roll back the reopening of those areas.”

NYC Appears to Endorse Glory Holes for Casual Sex During Quarantine

New York City’s Health Department released a “safe sex” guide Wednesday instructing people to add “physical barriers” while having sex to prevent “face-to-face contact” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Make it a little kinky. Be creative with sexual positions and physical barriers, like walls, that allow sexual contact while preventing close face to face contact,” states NYC’s Health Department. The guide also discourages “kissing anyone who is not part of your small circle of close contacts” because “kissing can easily pass the virus.”

The city’s health experts also recommend avoiding oral sex suggesting, “Rimming (mouth on anus) might spread the virus. Virus in feces may enter your mouth and could lead to infection.” In addition, individuals are encouraged to wear a mask while making love with their significant other stating, “Maybe it’s your thing, maybe it’s not, but during COVID-19 wearing a face covering that covers your nose and mouth is a good way to add a layer of protection during sex.”

“Heavy breathing and panting can spread the virus further, and if you or your partner have COVID-19 and don’t know it, a mask can help stop that spread,” states the guide. Couples are also advised to “use physical distance and face coverings” while masturbating together in order to “reduce the risk” of spreading COVID-19.
