Russia Says It Threatened a U.S. Warship Out of Territory U.S. Says It Wasn’t in

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that one of its ships on Tuesday intercepted a U.S. Navy destroyer in its sovereign waters and successfully drove it out with a threat to ram the intruding vessel.

The U.S. Navy denies this account, asserting its ship was not in Russian waters and had not been “expelled” from them, Voice of America (VOA) reported.

Moscow claimed it found the USS John S. McCain 1.2 miles inside its maritime territory in Peter the Great Bay, an inlet on the Sea of Japan which surrounds the Russian port of Vladivostok, near the border with North Korea, according to the BBC.

The Russian Pacific Fleet’s Admiral Vinogradov, a destroyer-class warship, reportedly hailed the McCain and warned its crew of “the possibility of using ramming to get the intruder out of the territorial waters,” the Defense Ministry said. . .

“The Russian Federation’s statement about this mission is false. USS John S. McCain was not ‘expelled’ from any nation’s territory,” the Navy stated on Tuesday. (Read more from “Russia Says It Threatened a U.S. Warship Out of Territory U.S. Says It Wasn’t in” HERE)

Report: Vladimir Putin Stepping Down in 2021

Vladimir Putin is planning to quit early next year amid growing fears for his health, Moscow sources claimed last night.

Kremlin watchers said recent tell-tale footage showed the 68-year-old strongman has possible symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. . .

Observers who studied recent footage of Putin noted his legs appeared to be in constant motion and he looked to be in pain while clutching the armrest of a chair.

His fingers are also seen to be twitching as he held a pen and gripped a cup believed to contain a cocktail of painkillers.

Speculation that his 20-year-reign – second only to that of Stalin – could be nearing an end grew earlier this week when laws were drafted to make him a senator-for-life when he resigns. (Read more from “Report: Vladimir Putin Stepping Down in 2021” HERE)

FBI: Lincoln Project Never Trumpers Peddled Iranian Disinformation Meant to Help Biden

. . .The foreign nations aren’t the only disseminators of false information. American groups including Never Trump operation the Lincoln Project served as Iran’s American digital foot soldiers, buying into the disinformation and amplifying it.

After the Wednesday press conference, the Lincoln Project deleted its recent tweet, which claimed, “The Proud Boys are attempting to scare voters away from the polls.”

“Media did exactly what Iran knew they would do. They assumed fake ‘Proud Boys’ e-mails were real, then used them to attack Trump,” a senior intelligence official told The Federalist in light of tonight’s announcement.

Following the announcement, mainstream media reporters, including PBS White House correspondent and MSNBC contributor Yamiche Alcindor, continued peddling the Iran line:

National Intelligence: Russia, Iran Attempting to Influence 2020 Election, Damage President Trump

Russia and Iran are attempting to influence the 2020 elections and have obtained some voter registration information, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe said at an FBI press conference on Wednesday.

Ratcliffe noted that both nations had taken specific actions to influence voters’ opinions. He noted that the registration information they obtained could be used to confuse voters through false communication.

The interference that’s been discovered, Ratcliffe said, has been designed to incite social unrest and damage the president.

“This data can be used by foreign actors to attempt to communicate false information to registered voters that they hope will cause confusion, sew chaos, and undermine your confidence in American democracy,” he said. “To that end, we have already seen Iran sending spoofed emails designed to intimidate voters, incite social unrest, and damage President Trump. You may have seen some reporting on this in the last 24 hours or you may have even been one of the recipients of those emails.” . . .

Noting that his agency was responsible for investigating election crimes, FBI Director Christopher Wray vowed to take action in order to ensure the integrity of U.S. elections. He said that Americans should be “confident” that their votes count. (Read more from “National Intelligence: Russia, Iran Attempting to Influence 2020 Election, Damage President Trump” HERE)

Trump Says He Has Declassified Documents Related to Russia, Clinton Email Probes

By New York Post. President Trump on Tuesday said he had declassified all documents tied to federal probes into Russian interference in the 2016 election and Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server for government emails.

“I have fully authorized the total Declassification of any & all documents pertaining to the single greatest political CRIME in American History, the Russia Hoax. Likewise, the Hillary Clinton Email Scandal. No redactions!” Trump tweeted.

The president’s announcement came after National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe declassified documents that revealed ex-CIA Director John Brennan had briefed former President Obama on a claim that Clinton ordered “a campaign plan to stir up a scandal” by linking Trump to Russia in 2016. Senators Press FBI to Stop Stonewalling Crossfire Hurricane Investigation Subpoenas

By The Federalist. Chairman of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Ron Johnson and Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee Charles Grassley wrote to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Monday requesting that he produce all of the information “relating to several unanswered or incomplete responses to ongoing oversight” by various Senate committees by Oct. 6.

The letter comes as the Russian collusion hoax meant to indict President Donald Trump peddled by Democrats and the mainstream media continues to crumble.

In the letter, the senators reprimand the FBI director for his agency’s three specific failures to provide already requested and subpoenaed information, including documents and messages to their committees beginning in April related to the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. This evidence, the letter explains, has “remained hidden for too long,” especially since “public interest in these records is significant.”

In April, the Senate “requested all intelligence records, foreign or domestic, received or reviewed by the Crossfire Hurricane team, as well as all FBI records about those intelligence products.” The senators say the FBI ignored the request, which acknowledged the faults of the Steele dossier on which the surveillance of Trump was supposedly based, and instead pointed the Senate to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. CIA Director Allegedly Banking on Trump Loss to Keep Russiagate Documents Hidden

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Gina Haspel is personally blocking the declassification and release of key Russiagate documents in the hopes that President Donald Trump will lose his re-election bid, multiple senior U.S. officials told The Federalist. The officials said Haspel, who served under former CIA Director John Brennan as the spy agency’s station chief in London in 2016 and 2017, is concerned that the declassification and release of documents detailing what the CIA was doing during the 2016 election and the 2017 transition could embarrass the CIA and potentially even implicate Haspel herself.

“Haspel and [FBI Director Christopher] Wray both want Trump to lose, because it’s the only chance they have of keeping their jobs,” one senior intelligence official told The Federalist. “They’re banking on Biden winning and keeping them where they are.” . . .

Officials also accused Haspel of repeatedly lying to the White House about the status of documents that are in the pipeline for declassification and release. These officials said that Haspel has consistently provided baseless excuses for her failure to produce certain documents, falsely claiming that she can’t physically locate documents, or that her agency doesn’t technically own them and therefore cannot release them.

“Haspel has repeatedly lied to the president about the status of documents to be declassified,” one intelligence community source said. “She will claim they don’t know where they are, or which agency technically owns them, and then we’ll find out she had them the entire time and just didn’t want them to see the light of day.” (Read more from “CIA Director Allegedly Banking on Trump Loss to Keep Russiagate Documents Hidden” HERE)

Senate Dems Block Intel Hearing on Chinese, Russian Election Interference

Senate Democrats blocked the chamber’s Intelligence Committee from receiving a classified brief on efforts by Russia, China, and Iran to interfere in the 2020 presidential elections.

Bill Evanina, the nation’s top election security official and director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center, was scheduled to give a briefing Tuesday to members of the Senate’s Select Committee on Intelligence. That closed-door hearing, however, was canceled by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who reportedly stopped the briefing due to frustration over GOP efforts to confirm a new Supreme Court justice following the death of liberal stalwart Ruth Bader Ginsburg. . .

Evanina earlier this year identified both China and Russia as waging active campaigns to sway the November election. In addition to Beijing and Moscow, Evanina said in an August security alert that “Iran seeks to undermine U.S. democratic institutions, President Trump, and to divide the country in advance of the 2020 elections.”

Each of these countries has enlisted hackers and others in a coordinated campaign to influence the election’s outcome. This includes creating scores of fake social media accounts meant to spread propaganda about the coronavirus pandemic and President Donald Trump. Their hope is to sow further discord among the American public in the lead-up to the election. (Read more from “Senate Dems Block Intel Hearing on Chinese, Russian Election Interference” HERE)

Russia Convinced It Has ‘Best Vaccine in the World’ After Promising Study Results

A COVID-19 vaccine developed and tested in Russia successfully generated an antibody response and showed no serious adverse effects, according to a study published in the medical journal The Lancet on Friday.

The peer-reviewed data could put Russia at the top of its race with the U.S., Europe, and China for developing a successful vaccine against the virus. Kirill Dmitriev, the chief executive officer of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, told Bloomberg on Friday that the country believes that their development is the “best in the world.”

“Russia has answered the questions that have been asked about it,” he said. “And we are convinced that we have the best vaccine in the world.” (Read more from “Russia Convinced It Has ‘Best Vaccine in the World’ After New Study Results” HERE)

James Comey: ‘Public Record’ Can’t Explain Why Ex-FBI Lawyer Doctored Email in Russia Inquiry

Former FBI Director James Comey admits he is worried about the criminal inquiry into the Russia investigation.

The prominent Trump critic has been on a media blitz in the week since the Senate Intelligence Committee released a report on the Trump 2016 campaign’s ties to Russia and after U.S. Attorney John Durham got his first plea deal from a former FBI lawyer. While Comey described the charge as a serious ordeal, he also downplayed the significance of the ex-lawyer’s actions as being an inexplicable anomaly, at least in terms of what is out there in the public eye. He told CNN on Tuesday that he’s not concerned about what the federal prosecutor will uncover, but rather how the Justice Department might try to politicize the findings.

“Of course I worry about anything this administration is doing, especially this notion that they need to investigate the investigators after the investigators had been investigated by everybody already,” Comey told host Anderson Cooper.

“I don’t know what they’re doing, so it’s hard for me to say,” he added. “I hope, at some point, the American people get transparency into what John Durham is doing and what he’s found, and I’m confident he’ll find the work was done in a professional way, but I just don’t know. And I’m skeptical that they will be respectful of conducting themselves like professionals.” (Read more from “James Comey: ‘Public Record’ Can’t Explain Why Ex-FBI Lawyer Doctored Email in Russia Inquiry” HERE)
