Something Crazy Just Happened at ‘Clock Boy’ Ahmed Mohamed’s School

Students at the former Texas high school of clock maker Ahmed Mohammed were forced to evacuate the campus after someone called in a bomb threat on Wednesday morning.

KDFW-4 reports that the caller contacted MacArthur High School at 9:45 AM from an anonymous number and said that a bomb would go off in 30 minutes.

School officials took the threat seriously and evacuated all the students to a nearby football field.

Irving police came and inspected the school, but found nothing suspicious. The officers gave the “all clear” at 10:45 AM.

Breitbart reports that the police have called the threat a “hoax” and are investigating. The person who made the call could receive up to 6 months in jail and a $10,000 fine.

As reported by Western Journalism, Ahmed’s parents pulled their son from the school after he was suspended for bringing a clock to school that officials first believed to be a bomb. Ahmed was detained and questioned by police, but not charged with any crimes. (Read more from “Something Crazy Just Happened at ‘Clock Boy’ Ahmed Mohamed’s School” HERE)

Islam Quiz Has Parents Outraged

Hundreds of irate parents are planning to attend the Walton County, Georgia, school board meeting Oct. 10 to convey their outrage over their children being taught the religious beliefs of Islam in middle-school social studies.

The outrage erupted over a quiz handed out to students asking them to answer questions related to the five pillars of Islam, the Quran as the “holy” book of Muslims, and the conversion prayer known as the “shahada,” which states, “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger.” Perhaps most disturbing to Christian parents was the “correct” answer that the Muslim god Allah is the “same god” that is worshiped by Christians and Jews.

At the same time Islam is being studied in detail, the beliefs of Christianity are glossed over, parents say. They now have more than 2,300 parents and concerned citizens who have joined a Facebook group dedicated to opposing the school system’s methods of teaching comparative religions.

“I believe my children are my responsibility, and I believe I need to be the one teaching them what we believe instead of the school,” Bill Green told News 95.5.

Parent Michelle King told WSB-TV she’s upset because students seem to spend a lot more time learning about Islam than any other religion. (Read more from “Islam Quiz Has Parents Outraged” HERE)

School District Implements Iris Scanners on Buses After Student’s Death

IritransThe Antelope Valley Schools Transportation Agency is using biometric iris scanners on special needs buses to prevent tragedies like the recent death of an autistic student who was abandoned on his school bus.

Hun Joon “Paul” Lee, a 19-year-old autistic student, was left on a contracted school bus in a district parking lot for hours Sept. 11, when he was found unresponsive laying in the aisle. A substitute driver picked him up at 8:30 a.m. and his parents believe he never got off the bus. Lee’s mother realized something was wrong when his bus didn’t arrive after school, NBC Los Angeles reports.

The nearby Antelope Valley Transportation Agency, meanwhile, is conducting a pilot program with iris scanners on special needs buses in hopes of preventing a similar tragedy from occurring in that district.

“Students will biometrically (iris) scan identity as the board and exit the school bus,” according to a Monday press release. “The IRITRANS system will notify the driver visibly and audibly if the child is about to get on or off at the wrong bus stop. When the bus reaches the end of its daily route, the driver simply ends the route on the IRITRANS mobile device and if all students have not exited the bus, the device will notify the driver both visually and audibly to recheck the bus.”

“Lost or sleeping kids. It happens every year in most school districts nationally only we rarely hear about it,” IRITRAK president John DeVries said. “Kids left sleeping on a bus is at epidemic proportions nationally.” (Read more from “School District Implements Iris Scanners on Buses After Student’s Death” HERE)

The Real Story of ‘I Stand With Ahmed’

clock-bomb-640x480 (1)The hubbub surrounding Irving, Texas 14-year-old MacArthur High School student Ahmed Mohammed – the kid who brought a homemade clock-in-a-case that looked like a fake bomb to school – continues apace, with the President of the United States inviting him to the White House, and 2016 Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg tweeting out encouragement.

There’s only one problem: the whole story smells. It stinks of leftist exploitation.

Here’s what we know. On Monday, Mohammed brought a homemade clock to school. For those who don’t know the ins-and-outs of electronics, the device looked like a possible incendiary device. Ahmed told the media that he made the clock last weekend and brought it to school to show his engineering teacher. He explained to local news, “It was the first time I brought an invention to school to show a teacher.”

He didn’t explain that to police, however, according to the authorities. And he didn’t just show the device to his engineering teacher. In fact, the engineering teacher told him not to carry the device around after Mohammed showed him, according to The New York Times . . .

Why was the device in English class in the first place, especially after the engineering teacher told him not to show it around? When confronted by police and his English teacher, why didn’t Mohammed just tell them to talk to the engineering teacher? (Read more from “The Real Story of ‘I Stand With Ahmed'” HERE)

Muslim Student Arrested For Bringing ‘Bomb’ To School. Turns Out ‘Bomb’ Was A Clock. (+video)

homemade_clocksThis story has inspired its own hashtag: #IStandWithAhmed, because in this case, the teen is named Ahmed Mohamed, and that’s important, because I’m not so sure there would be a hashtag if his name was Alex Brownson, Jose Martinez, or John Chung. But hey, I’m just a racist.

Texas ninth-grader Ahmed Mohamed loves technology. His bedroom is filled with gadgets, soldering tools and equipment, because he loves to build new things, specifically technological things. Props, to this kid, not enough teens are building their own tech gear. But the story goes sideways when Ahmed builds a clock with a digital face, and its innards set inside a case. He brings it to school and everything blows up:

Ahmed’s clock was hardly his most elaborate creation. He said he threw it together in about 20 minutes before bedtime on Sunday: a circuit board and power supply wired to a digital display, all strapped inside a case with a tiger hologram on the front.

He showed it to his engineering teacher first thing Monday morning and didn’t get quite the reaction he’d hoped for.

“He was like, ‘That’s really nice,’” Ahmed said. “‘I would advise you not to show any other teachers.’”

He kept the clock inside his school bag in English class, but the teacher complained when the alarm beeped in the middle of a lesson. Ahmed brought his invention up to show her afterward.

“She was like, it looks like a bomb,” he said.

When a Mom Spotted This Question on Her Fourth Grader’s Math Homework, She Lost It

Student-Teacher1The mother of one Ohio elementary school student is enlisting the assistance of local and social media to determine why a recent classroom assignment was peppered with what she felt to be inappropriate references.

She posted a social media photo showing an assignment sent home on the second day of the school year, prompting the press and concerned parents to share the image.

12

Specifically, references to liquor and food stamps were deemed particularly controversial, the unidentified parent concluded.

She updated her original Facebook message after contacting the teacher who assigned the homework:

I suggested that with questionable wording, he should, maybe, have the pages retyped with new words and recipes he agreed. So not sure this resolved anything, but at least this teacher is aware that parents do pay attention to their kids’ assignments.

Directive Urges English Teachers to Push Students to Question Their Gender

The National Council of Teachers of English believes teachers should work to promote “gender nonconforming” people and their issues in public school lesson plans.

A NCTE resolution passed in 2007 urges more teachers and teacher training programs to focus on LGBT issues, and to “publish guidelines and instructional materials and offer professional development opportunities designed to assist teachers in their teaching of LGBT issues,” according to the NCTE site.

To that end, NCTE recently posted a new “Diverse Gender Expression and Gender Non-Conforming Curriculum in English Grades 7-12” to promote an “equitable focus on issues honoring a range of diverse expressions related to gender and gender non-conformity.”

The goal of the guide is apparently to convince students to view the world through the eyes of someone who’s not sexually normal. Reading literature to students with gay or gender nonconforming characters isn’t enough, according to a NCTE blog.

The blog cited an English Journal article that alleges “heterosexism and homophobia are already part of the classroom, so we’ll need to use a variety of strategies to counter these beliefs as we introduce LGBTQ texts.” (Read more from “Directive Urges English Teachers to Push Students to Question Their Gender” HERE)

Microaggressions: Academic Censorship for Perceived Offenses and Destruction of the First Amendment

So how do you destroy the First Amendment?

You make human frailty an offense, get academia involved to punish it and to give seminars that further propagate their ignorance. Then the mind-set taught in the seminar trickles down to the college students, who then become voters.

It appears leading the pack of degreed censurers is Janet Napolitano, president of the University of California, Berkeley, former secretary of Homeland Security and former governor of Arizona. Now the Wisconsin University is joining in.

Seminars were adapted from Derald Wing Sue’s book, Microagression in Everyday Life: Race, Gender and Sexual Orientation (Wiley & sons, 2010) specifically for training on micro-aggression (the correct spelling). Napolitano sent out letters to UC deans and department chairs “inviting” their presence at the seminars, “to foster informed conversation about the best way to build and nurture a productive academic climate”. Have you noticed how every inch of America’s constitution is being usurped by attributing the infringement for a “noble reason”? . . .

According to the Diversity in the Classroom, UCLA Diversity & Faculty Development, 2014, “Micro-aggressions are the everyday verbal, nonverbal, and environmental slights, snubs, or insults, whether intentional or unintentional, that communicates hostile, derogatory, or negative messages to target persons based solely upon their marginalized group membership.” (Read more from “Microaggressions: Academic Censorship for Perceived Offenses” HERE)

Former Boston Crime Boss Tells Teens Who Wrote Him for School History Project: ‘My Life Was Wasted’

Former Boston crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger had some advice for three high school girls who wrote to him for a history project: Crime doesn’t pay.

The 85-year-old sent the handwritten letter, dated Feb. 24, from federal prison in Florida where he is serving two life sentences, The Boston Globe reported Sunday.

“My life was wasted and spent foolishly, brought shame and suffering on my parents and siblings and will end soon,” Bulger wrote.

He went on to write: “Advice is a cheap commodity some seek it from me about crime — I know only one thing for sure — If you want to make crime pay — ‘Go to Law School.'”

Bulger, a former FBI informant whose case brought scrutiny to the agency, was convicted in 2013 on racketeering charges that included playing a role in 11 murders. He spent 16 years as one of the nation’s most wanted fugitives before he was captured in California in 2011. His lawyers are appealing his conviction before the federal appeals court in Boston next month. Oregon School District Spends Big on Controversial ‘White Privilege’ Teacher Training

Go ahead and call Dan Chriestenson out of step with the times.

The two-term school board member from Oregon’s Gresham-Barlow district yearns for the hopeful goal of the 1960s civil rights movement – to eliminate race as a factor in American society.

He’s sickened to see just the opposite happening today, due to the bizarre theories of a group of radicals who use stubborn racial problems in K-12 education to promote their leftist political agenda and make a lot of money . . .

Every year the Gresham-Barlow school district, like many others across the state, sends teachers and administrators to a week-long “Coaching for Educational Equity” conference in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The Conference is presented by a private non-profit organization called the Oregon Center for Educational Equity (OCEE) . . .

The theory says that school curricula, instructional methods and disciplinary policies are hopelessly based on the norms of white culture, for the exclusive benefit of white students. It teaches that black students cannot possibly succeed unless K-12 education is modified and customized to their supposed culture.
