Despite Super Bowl Loss, Seahawks Quarterback Thanks God

Despite their loss to the New England Patriots, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson praised God for the opportunity to play in the Super Bowl again.

Wilson, a Christian, tweeted early Monday, “Thank You God for the opportunity. We’ll be back… I will never waiver on who He has called me to be… Thanks 12s #GoHawks.”

In what is being called one of the most exciting Super Bowls ever, the Patriots made a comeback in the fourth quarter that led to their victory, 28-24. While the Seahawks were expected to win their second consecutive Super Bowl when they stood at the Patriots’ 1-yard line, the ball was intercepted by Malcolm Butler when Wilson threw tried to throw it to Ricardo Lockette.

Coach Pete Carroll took the blame, saying he made the call to have Wilson throw the ball rather than run it.

“I made the decision,” Carroll said. (Read more on what the Seahawks quarterback said HERE)

Patriot’s Coach Wears “Don’t Tread on Me” Shirt into Super Bowl; Supporters Called Racist

Photo Credit: Boston HeraldIn images that have gone viral on Twitter, New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick is shown wearing a red t-shirt emblazoned with the words, “Don’t Tread on Me” into the Super Bowl today. His shirt included an image from the famed Revolutionary War Gadsden flag, a mainstay of the modern Tea Party movement.

According to Wikipedia, “The Gadsden flag is a historical American flag with a yellow field depicting a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike. Positioned below the rattlesnake are the words “Dont tread on me”. The flag is named after American general and statesman Christopher Gadsden (1724–1805), who designed it in 1775 during the American Revolution.”

Liberal Magazine: If You Rooted for the Patriots You’re Racist

By Christian Datoc. [T]he liberal media refuses to quit its slanderous campaign against the 2015 AFC Champion New England Patriots.

The most recent salvo of Pats-hate comes from noted liberal-weekly, The Nation, which decided to abandon any and all shreds of journalistic bias in favor of declaring the Seattle Seahawks as America’s chosen team. The Deflate-Gate scandal has been revealed as a smoke and mirrors effort to undermine the house that Belichick built, and at this point in the game, these last futile proclamations from the self-proclaimed “flagship of the left” are not only easy to see through, but just flat-out repetitive.

For starters, the article’s main argument is basically as follows: “The NFL is part of a changing, more socially-conscious America, and if you aren’t pulling for the Seahawks, it’s probably because you’re a racist.”

Seriously. It’s all in there. (Read more from this story HERE)

NFL Falsified ‘Deflate Gate’

By Christian Datoc. As the Deflate-Gate case against the New England Patriots continues to fall apart, multiple “anonymous leaks” have come forward to clear the Pats’ name, and the most recent source might officially end the conversation for good.

Earlier in the week, an anonymous leak claimed that the NFL lied when it originally reported 11 of the 12 Patriots’ balls were under-inflated by 2 pounds per square inch. The leak claimed that in reality, the balls were found to be between 1-2 pounds below the league limit for PSI. (Read more from this story HERE)

Unbelievable: Madden NFL 2015 Precisely Predicted Patriots’ 28-24 Win Over Seahawks

Photo Credit: REUTERS/LUCAS JACKSONIn a last minute interception, the Patriots sealed their victory in Super Bowl XLIX with a 28-24 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Incredibly, as we reported last week, the Madden NFL simulation between the two teams returned the exact same score. In the last twelve years of the simulations, Madden NFL has correctly predicted nine of the Super Bowl champions. That’s a pretty impressive accuracy rate of 75%. But the simulation has never before predicted the Super Bowl score to the point until today.

Here’s some more background on Madden NFL:

Since 2004, EA games has run a simulation of the Super Bowl using the latest game in the Madden NFL series and announced the result. The game simulations conducted by EA have correctly predicted nine of the last twelve Super Bowl winners . . . EA also releases a computer-generated description of the simulated game as if it were a summary of the real Super Bowl.

Seahawks Quarterback: I Became a Christian After Jesus Visited Me in a Dream (+videos)

Russell Wilson, a native of Richmond, Va., who quarterbacks for the Seattle Seahawks, explained in a recent video about his religious background and spiritual decision.

“When I was a young kid, I used to always go to church. My parents used to always take me. I knew about God, but I was always playing sports. I was kind of a bad kid growing up,” said Wilson.

“I had a dream that my dad passed away and that Jesus came into the room and he was basically knocking on my door saying, ‘hey you need to find out more about me.’ So that Sunday morning I end up going to church and that’s when I got saved.”

Wilson added that about six years after he had the dream and made his spiritual decision to follow Christ, his father died. (Read more about what the Seahawks quarterback said HERE)

Best Super Bowl XLVIII Commercials (+video)

Budweiser “Puppy Love”Average and okay.” That’s Lee Garfinkel’s three-word assessment of this year’s crop of Super Bowl ads. And Garfinkel knows of what he speaks. The CEO of DraftFCB NY is the auteur of numerous classic Super Bowl ads, most notably a series of iconic Pepsi spots featuring Cindy Crawford.

Garfinkel, who created high profile spots at BBDO, Lowe, DDB, and Havas Worldwide, knows how hard it is to make a great Super Bowl spot. The stakes are high and everyone has an opinion. “It’s a very delicate thing to create a great commercial, let alone a great Super Bowl spot,” he explains. “You need to take into consideration how people view Super Bowl spots, how it will do in the different Ad Meters and reviews, plus so many people are working on it that it’s easy to chip away at it and water it down.”…

Here are the ads, including a great spot that did not air during the game on Sunday.

TSA Adds Bomb-Sniffing Dogs in NJ for Super Bowl

Photo Credit: bill85704/flickrNewark Liberty International Airport is going to the dogs — the bomb-sniffing kind.

The Transportation Security Administration said it has added about two dozen dogs to monitor passengers coming in and out of the airport around the Super Bowl. Tens of thousands of extra travelers are expected to visit the region for the game.

Neighboring LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy airports aren’t adding any additional K-9s for the big game.

On Saturday morning, TSA agents demonstrated how the dogs can sniff out many different types of explosives. Once they do, they’re trained to sit rather than attack, so as not to raise suspicion or create a panic.

The dogs are mainly Labradors or Lab mixes, which are considered a good hunting breed and people-friendly. TSA spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein said the dogs undergo 12 weeks of training, which costs about $200,000, factoring in food, vehicles and salaries for trainers.

Attack On Mass Transit Seen As Top Super Bowl Security Risk

Photo Credit: REUTERS/LUCAS JACKSONBomb attacks of the kind that tore through mass transit sites in Russia ahead of the upcoming Sochi Olympics are a top concern of security officials preparing for Sunday’s Super Bowl, the head of the New Jersey State Police said on Wednesday.

While law enforcement officials said they were not aware of any specific threats targeting the February 2 National Football League championship in East Rutherford, New Jersey, attacks like those that killed 34 people in two days in Russia late last year are their biggest worry.

“Of particular concern to us is what was going on overseas in Volgograd in regard to the Sochi Olympics. As you know both of those bombings were targeting mass transit,” Rick Fuentes, superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, told reporters. “That is a concern with the mass transit; we’ve prepared ourselves for it.”

Officials have sharply limited parking at MetLife Stadium, where Sunday’s game will be played, and expect as many as 30,000 people to arrive by bus or rail. Security screening will start at train stations, where fans will not be able to board stadium-bound trains or buses without tickets to the game, officials said.

New York Police Department Commissioner William Bratton said that while authorities were focused on a mass transit type of attack, they were not aware of any specific plans to target the game or surrounding events.

Joe Flacco: $120.6M Made Me Feel ‘Like I Was Respected Around Here’

Photo Credit: APJoe Flacco takes issue with the notion that winning a Super Bowl MVP factored heavily in his new $120.6 million contract, the most lucrative in NFL history.

Said the Ravens quarterback, upon signing his six-year contract Monday afternoon: “I’m worth what I’m worth.”

He added: “I think I bring to the table what I bring to the table. The fact that we won the Super Bowl just comes with that. If we didn’t win the Super Bowl this year, I still think I’m worth the same. It may not be seen that way, but that’s the bottom line. I think I give this team the best chance to win moving forward, whether we won or lost.”

Flacco’s salary-cap-friendly pact (at least in the first three years) guarantees him $52 million, a year after he turned down the Ravens’ bid to re-sign him at a lower price.

“I thought I was worth more,” said Flacco, who added that he didn’t once sit at the bargaining table with agent Joe Linta as the team approached the Monday deadline to apply the franchise tag. “And I didn’t really see any circumstances where I wouldn’t end up getting paid more than what they were willing to give me at that point.
