Wokeness Comes to the Cookie Aisle

The debate over the radical Equality Act played out in the halls of Congress, on social media, and in the cookie aisle apparently. . .

Not to be left out, the Nabisco cookie brand jumped in the debate, noting on Twitter that “Trans people exist.”

Twitter Defends Lincoln Project Cofounder on Unwanted Sexual Advances

Twitter says that disgraced Lincoln Project cofounder John Weaver did not violate its rules on unwanted sexual advances when he allegedly used the platform’s direct messaging system to sexually proposition young men. . .

A Twitter spokesman told Breitbart News that the platform had looked into the matter and found no violations of its policies.

Over twenty young men have said John Weaver, who still has an active account on the platform, used Twitter’s direct messages feature to send them unwanted sexual advances.

Many screenshots of these direct messages have been published. One of the alleged victims was 14 years old, according to the New York Times.

The Lincoln Project has cut ties with Weaver as a result. But the Associated Press found that leaders of the anti-Trump organization were aware of the allegations against Weaver as early as June last of last year. Twitter Goes After James O’Keefe and Project Veritas for Exposing Facebook Censorship

Twitter restricted journalist James O’Keefe’s Twitter account, as well as that of his founding organization Project Veritas on Thursday morning, citing violation of “rules against posting private information.”

This decision by Twitter comes after Project Veritas’s reporting on Facebook Vice President Guy Rosen saying the Big Tech platform intentionally “freezes,” via algorithms, comments where hate speech “may be.”

Project Veritas captured Rosen saying the following during a leaked internal Facebook call meeting. The clips were released Wednesday.

“We have a system that is able to freeze commenting on threads in cases where our systems are detecting that there may be a thread that has hate speech or violence. … These are all things we’ve built over the past three-four years as part of our investments into the integrity space, our efforts to protect the election.”

The moves by Big Tech to silence opinions and voices they don’t like are running rampant. In an announcement on Feb. 8, Facebook claimed it is “expanding our efforts to remove false claims on Facebook and Instagram about COVID-19, COVID-19 vaccines and vaccines in general during the pandemic.”

‘Let’Em Die’: ER Doctor on Twitter Says America Shouldn’t Waste Time on Those Not Wearing Masks

An emergency room doctor posted a Twitter thread saying the country cannot “waste our energy” on those who do not wear masks during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cleavon Gilman uses the Twitter handle Cleavon MD and posted a 15-second video credited to an NBC reporter that showed people not wearing masks in a Naples, Florida, supermarket. He commented, “Naples, Florida. Let’em die. I’m so tired of these people. No vaccines for y’all.”

The comments generated backlash, with some responses suggesting the doctor should lose his medical license. Others backed him up, saying those protesting mask mandates should sign forms waiving emergency medical care.

Twitter Locks Focus on the Family Page Over ‘Hateful’ Content

The president of Focus on the Family said Twitter locked the page of the Daily Citizen — an arm of the large, well-known Christian organization — for posting “hateful” content.

FOF President Jim Daly wrote in his Wednesday blog that the issue was a Jan. 19 tweet — now “no longer available” — discussing Dr. Rachel Levine, President Joe Biden’s nominee for assistant secretary of health at the Department of Health and Human Services.

He said the tweet in question included the following sentence: “Dr. Levine is a transgender woman, that is, a man who believes he is a woman.”

“It seems, according to Twitter, simply acknowledging biological fact is now ‘hateful,'” Daly wrote.

The tweet also linked to a Daily Citizen article, “Biden to Nominate Controversial Transgender Doctor for Assistant Health and Human Services Secretary.” (Seems the powers that be aren’t able to get stories taken down from websites — yet.) Justice Department Charges Twitter Troll Over Four-Year Old Meme About Hillary Clinton

On Wednesday, the Justice Department announced charges against a social media influencer for a meme that was circulated in the weeks running up to the 2016 presidential election. According to the complaint, the meme erroneously informed Hillary Clinton voters they could cast their ballots simply by texting a number from their cell phones.

Prosecutors allege 31-year-old Douglas Mackey, aka Ricky Vaughn, of West Palm Beach, Florida, interfered with the 2016 election by using social media to deprive individuals of their right to vote. At the time, Mackey had a Twitter audience of approximately 58,000 followers and was ranked by the MIT Media Lab as the 107th most influential influencer in the then-upcoming election.

According to the complaint, between Sep. 2016 and Nov. 2016, Mackey conspired with others to use social media platforms, like Twitter, to direct Hillary Clinton voters toward an invalid method of voting. The complaint cites a Nov. 2016 meme tweeted by the defendant that depicts an African American woman standing in front of a Clinton campaign sign. The meme included the text, “Avoid the Line. Vote from Home. Text ‘Hillary’ to 59925.” (Read more from “Justice Department Charges Twitter Troll Over Four-Year Old Meme About Hillary Clinton” HERE)

Twitter Refused to Remove Child Porn Because It Didn’t ‘Violate Policies’

By Breitbart. Twitter repeatedly told the victim of child sexual abuse that a video of his ordeal circulating on the platform didn’t violate the platform’s policies, according to a lawsuit filed on the victim’s behalf by the National Center on Sexual Exploitation.

The victim, anonymized in the lawsuit as John Doe, alleges that Twitter allowed the video of his abuse — filmed when he was 13 years old — to accumulate hundreds of thousands of views.

According to the lawsuit, Twitter only eventually complied after an agent from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) got involved with the case.

By that time, according to the allegations, the video had already accumulated over 165,000 views on the platform. (Read more from “Lawsuit: Twitter States That Child Porn Video ‘Didn’t Violate Policies’” HERE)

Twitter Refused to Remove Child Porn Because It Didn’t ‘Violate Policies’: Lawsuit

By New York Post. Twitter refused to take down widely shared pornographic images and videos of a teenage sex trafficking victim because an investigation “didn’t find a violation” of the company’s “policies,” a scathing lawsuit alleges.

The federal suit, filed Wednesday by the victim and his mother in the Northern District of California, alleges Twitter made money off the clips, which showed a 13-year-old engaged in sex acts and are a form of child sexual abuse material, or child porn, the suit states.

The teen — who is now 17 and lives in Florida — is identified only as John Doe and was between 13 and 14 years old when sex traffickers, posing as a 16-year-old female classmate, started chatting with him on Snapchat, the suit alleges.

Doe and the traffickers allegedly exchanged nude photos before the conversation turned to blackmail: If the teen didn’t share more sexually graphic photos and videos, the explicit material he’d already sent would be shared with his “parents, coach, pastor” and others, the suit states.

Doe, acting under duress, initially complied and sent videos of himself performing sex acts and was also told to include another child in his videos, which he did, the suit claims. (Read more from “Twitter Refused to Remove Child Porn Because It Didn’t ‘Violate Policies’: Lawsuit” HERE)

Twitter Suspends Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene

Twitter suspended the account of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.). The social media company temporarily banned the Republican congresswoman for allegedly spreading misinformation. Greene was temporarily suspended for 12 hours on Sunday. . .

In September, Twitter’s civic integrity policy stated the social media network “will label or remove false or misleading information intended to undermine public confidence in an election or other civic process.”

Greene’s office issued a statement regarding her suspension.

“Just days after the Silicon Valley Cartel launched a multi-front attack to chill free speech in America by deplatforming President Donald Trump and purging an unknown number of conservatives, Twitter has decided to suspend my personal account without explanation,” the statement read. “The borderline monopolistic stranglehold a few Big Tech companies have on the American political discourse is out of control.” . . .

“If a conservative dares to utter a political opinion that is deemed unapproved by the internet police they are now subject to false accusations of ‘inciting violence’ simply for having a conservative view,” the press release said. Twitter Complains It’s Being Censored in Foreign Election

After permanently banning President Trump and other prominent conservatives last Friday, Twitter condemned the blocking of social media and messaging apps by Uganda during the African nation’s election, prompting many Twitter users to point out the irony.

“Ahead of the Ugandan election, we’re hearing reports that Internet service providers are being ordered to block social media and messaging apps,” said a tweet from the account of Twitter’s Global Policy Team.

“We strongly condemn internet shutdowns – they are hugely harmful, violate basic human rights and the principles of the #OpenInternet,” Twitter said.

Twitter acknowleged that earlier this week, “in close coordination with our peers,” the social media giant “suspended a number of accounts targeting the election in Uganda.”

“If we can attribute any of this activity to state-backed actors, we will disclose to our archive of information operations,” Twitter said. (Read more from “Twitter Complains It’s Being Censored in Foreign Election” HERE)

Twitter Hasn’t Suspended These Accounts Or Tweets That Openly Incite Violence; Gab Gaining 10,000 Users per Hour, CEO Claims; Twitter Shares Tumble More Than 10% After Site Permanently Bans Trump

By The Federalist. On Friday, Twitter joined a slew of other social media companies in permanently suspending Donald Trump’s accounts. Subsequently, many other conservative users found themselves deplatformed by the tech giant. The tech oligarchs’ argument is that Trump’s social media presence incites violence, as evidenced by the riot in the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday.

Twitter argued that several of Trump’s tweets violated its Glorification of Violence policy, which states, “You may not threaten violence against an individual or a group of people. We also prohibit the glorification of violence.”

Unsurprisingly, there are countless Twitter accounts that regularly call for harm or violence, in violation of this policy, yet have been allowed to persist. While the president’s posts and remarks have included some awful things, they have been in no way worse than much of what transpires on the platform.

Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, has an intact Twitter account that consistently glorifies acts of violence, yet the brutal dictator has not faced any censorship or suspension. After the heartbreaking beheading of a French teacher because he showed a political cartoon depicting Mohammad, and a mass stabbing in a church in Nice, Khamenei focused vitriol on those murdered, claiming the “rage” of Muslim extremists had demonstrated its “vitality.” (Read more from “Twitter Hasn’t Suspended These Accounts or Tweets That Openly Incite Violence” HERE)

Gab Gaining 10,000 Users per Hour, CEO Claims

By Fox Business. Gab, a more conservative-friendly alternative social media platform to Twitter, claimed Saturday it is gaining 10,000 users an hour in the wake of Twitter permanently suspending President Trump’s account.

Trump has also been blocked from posting on Facebook and Instagram — at least until his term ends.

“The traffic just keeps growing hang tight, even more servers on the way today,” Gab CEO Andrew Torba wrote on the site Saturday. . .

Torba tweeted late Saturday the site had 18 million visits Saturday and 500,000 new users. (Read more from “Gab Gaining 10,000 Users per Hour, CEO Claims” HERE)

Twitter Shares Tumble More Than 10% After Site Permanently Bans Trump

By Yahoo Finance. Shares of Twitter (TWTR) sank more than 10% on Monday after the social media company permanently banned President Donald Trump from the platform late last week.

The tech company suspended Trump’s account on Friday in a move to prevent him from using the platform to incite further unrest among his supporters following the violent protests at the U.S. Capitol last week, according to Twitter. Shortly after market open Monday, the stock dropped as much as 12.3% to reach as low as $45.17 per share.

The context, rather than just the content, of some of Trump’s latest tweets suggested “they were highly likely to encourage and inspire people to replicate the criminal acts that took place at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021,” Twitter wrote in a statement explaining its decision. In one Tweet, Trump asserted that his supporters would “not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way,” and in another, noted he would not be attending the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden on Jan. 20, suggesting the event “would be a ‘safe’ target, as he will not be attending,” Twitter added.
